Hilda Marie Baker
1920-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Hilda Marie Baker, 84, were held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, February 23, in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home with Bros. John Forgy and Roger Graham officiating. Interment icon followed in the Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Baker, a homemaker and widow of Claude Baker, died on Friday, February 11, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. She was born in rural Carroll County on March 19, 1920, to the late Fred Saddler Rodgers and Bess Ruth Schrader Rodgers. She was a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ and a member of the TOPS organization.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Sydnor; a son, Sam Baker; three sisters, Helen Fowler, Shirley Brawner and Freddie Ruth Gill, all of McKenzie; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Brenda Lue Baker, and a brother, John Rodgers.

Thomas A. Webb
1922-2005
BRUCETON - Services for Thomas A. Webb, 82, were held on Monday, February 14, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bruceton First Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Edwards and Rev. Everett Martin officiating. Interment icon followed in Hebron cemetery near Hollow Rock.
Mr. Webb, a heavy equipment operator for Construction Pipe, died on Friday, February 11, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
He was born September 22, 1922, in Carroll County, to the late Ezra Green Webb and Doye Barnhart Webb. He was a member and deacon of Bruceton First Baptist Church, a World War II veteran, a member of the Hollow Rock VFW Post #4349, a 50-year member of the Hollow Rock Masonic Lodge #288 and a member of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Webb of Bruceton; three daughters, Janice Webb, Sharon Webb and Delores Reed, all of Fountain Valley, California; one son, Roland Webb of Jackson, and one sister, Mary Quinn of Griffith, Indiana. Military rites were conducted at the gravesite.

Jessie C. Bridges
1912-2005
ROBERTSDALE, ALABAMA: Services for Jessie C. Bridges, 92, formerly of Huntingdon, were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 13, at Long Rock Methodist Church with Brother Wayne Holmes officiating. Interment icon followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bridges died Thursday, February 10, at Robertsdale Healthcare Center.
She was born October 2, 1912, to the late George and Escue Britt Campbell. Her adoptive parents were D.P. and Maggie Redden. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Elmo Bridges; one son, Bobby Bridges, and one grandson, Ron Bridges, Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Bridges, Sr. of Alabama and William "Bill" Bridges of Georgia; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Cooper Park
1956-2004
BRUCETON - Services for Cooper Park, 48, were held on Tuesday, February 15, at 2:00 p.m., at the Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Interment icon followed at Butler's cemetery near Buena Vista.
Mr. Park, a pipe fitter, died at his home on Saturday, February 12.
He was born September 4, 1956, in Bruceton, to Philip and Lota Park. He was a member of Trace Creek Baptist Church in New Johnsonville.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two sons, John Carter Park and James Philip Park, both of New Johnsonville, and one sister, Phyllis Taylor of Huntingdon.

August Henry Goeman
1921-2005
McKENZIE - Services for August Henry Goeman, 83, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 17, at Brummitt Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Roach officiating. Interment icon will follow in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Goeman, retired from banking and real estate, died on Monday, February 14, at Oak Manor Health Care Center.
He was born in Mason, Michigan, on July 26, 1921, to the late Raymond Goeman and Emily Friedman Goeman. He was a member of the Paris First Church of Nazarene. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara H. Goeman; one daughter, Sharon Battalio, and one sister and two brothers, Josephine Pickell, Louie Goeman and Joseph Goeman.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Gargus of McKenzie; four grandchildren, Susan G. Molsberger, Danny Gargus, Steven Battalio and Mary Beth Battalio and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 16, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 17, from 9:00 a.m. until time for the service.

Ethel Johnson
1909-2005
DRESDEN - Services for Ethel Johnson, 95, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 14 at the Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with Hugh Downen officiating. Interment icon followed in Mt. Zion cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson, retired from Baybee Shoes, died on Saturday, February 12, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
She was born August 10, 1909 in Sharon to the late Alvin and Mary Jane Medlock Adams. Her husband, Berthel Johnson, and one daughter, Virgie 'Helen' Keeling preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sisters, Clara Webb of Gleason and Agnes Hatley and Odell Blakemore, both of Dresden.

Lyndell Sawyers
1914-2005
GLEASON - Services for Lyndell Sawyers, 90, were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15 at the Gallimore Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Sumner and Ronnie Bates officiating. Interment icon followed at Hopewell cemetery.
Mr. Sawyers, a retired postal employee, died on Sunday, February 13 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. He was a member of the Gleason First Baptist Church.
He was born in Gleason on October 7, 1914 to the late Roscoe Earl and Aarh Wray Sawyers.
Survivors include his wife, Nina Brewer Sawyers; two sons, Bob Sawyers of Somerville and Ken 'Scooter' Sawyers of Knoxville; one daughter, Pam Sherrill of Cookeville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Willie Booker Allen
1934-2004
McKENZIE - Services for Willie Booker Allen, 69, were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7 at Johnson Temple CME Church with the Rev. James E. Stewart officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Mr. Allen died on Saturday, January 31 at his home. He was born September 13, 1934 in McKenzie to the late Booker Thomas Allen and Emma Pokie Sparks. He was known as 'Will' by his family and friends. He was a member of the Pentecostal Faith Church of God in McKenzie where he served as a deacon. Mr. Allen attended Webb High School, later entered the military and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Connie Allen; two daughters, Shirley Goynes of Lawton, Oklahoma and Marie Renee Sneed of Monroe Valley, California; three sons, Jimmie Lee Allen of Fredrick, Oklahoma, Michael Curtis of St. Carlos, Arizona and Eric 'Munsey' Rutherford of McKenzie; four sisters, Shirley Milton, Sharron Weatherford of Milan, Debra Allen of Huntingdon and Robin Allen of McKenzie; three brothers, Rev. Wade Allen, Stanley Allen and Edward Sneed, all of McKenzie; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

James 'Junior' Biggers
1940-2004
DRESDEN - Services for James 'Junior' Biggers, 63, were at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 9 at Mack's Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Biggers, service station manager, died Saturday, February 7 at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. He was born April 27, 1940 in Weakley County to the late Sherman and Helen McGehee Biggers. He was a member of the Mack's Grove Baptist Church in Dresden. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Dunlap Biggers; a daughter, Kristen Biggers of Dresden; two stepdaughters, Winniford Vowell of Martin and Starr Simmons Blackard of Nashville; three stepsons, Murphy Dunlap of Rhode Island, William Bennett of Camden and Edward Brooks of Huntingdon; a sister, Minner Hicks of Henry; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

James Harbour Allen
1930-2004
LAQUINTA, CALIFORNIA: Services for James Harbour Allen, 73, formerly of McKenzie, were at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 12 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Brother Clayton Owen officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Allen, retired supervisor in corporate security, died on Saturday, February 7 at his home in LaQuinta.
He was born October 18, 1930 in Gainesboro to the late Mildred Sexton Allen and Lowell C. Allen.
Survivors include a son, Lowell H. Allen of Stockton, California and a daughter, Diana E. Garcia of LaQuinta

Reuben Johnson Burrow
1914-2004
McKENZIE - Services for Reuben Johnson Burrow, 89, were at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, February 15 at Liberty United Methodist Church with Bro. H.B. Fields officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Burrow, a retired carpenter, died Friday, February 13 at Oak Manor Health Care Center in McKenzie.
He was born April 5, 1914 in McKenzie to the late Jane Ann New and Aaron Iron Burrow.
He leaves his wife, Mildred Harden Burrow. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Weymon Kenneth King
1941-2004
McKENZIE - Services for Weymon Kenneth King, 62, were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 16 at First Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. King, retired engineer for CSX Transportation, died Friday, February 13 at his residence.
He was born November 4, 1941 in Selmer to the late Zettie Goodrum and Payton M. King. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Black King of McKenzie; daughters Michelle King of Jackson and Kimberly King Parham of McKenzie; two brothers, Milfred King of Selmer and Alfred King of Bethel Springs; a sister, Nadyne Swaffer of Little Rock, Arkansas and one granddaughter.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Robert Lomax
1932-2004
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Robert Lomax, 71, died Tuesday, February 10 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, February 12 at New Crossroads Baptist Church with Brother Scott Carter and Brother Joey Simmons officiating. Interment icon followed at McAuley cemetery.
Mr. Lomax was born August 1, 1932 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late Robert Harold and Louise Bates Lomax. He was a member of the New Crossroads Baptist Church, a retired employee of the International Prison Ministry and an air force veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Faye Lomax, a son, Jeffery Lomax of Chicago, Illinois; a daughter, Lisa Lomax of Kansas City, Kansas; and a brother, David Lomax of Hollow Rock.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
