Hazel Thompson Saviori
1913-2005
McKENZIE - Graveside services for Hazel Thompson Saviori, 92, were at 11 a.m. Monday, August 15, at Shiloh cemetery. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Saviori, a retired manicurist, died Thursday, August 11, at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born March 4, 1913, in Carroll County, to the late James H. Walker and Edith Routon Walker.
Survivors include two sons Terry (Bobbie) Thompson of McKenzie, Jimmy (Judy) Thompson of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Virginia Shaeffer of Phoeniz, Arizona; ten grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morrell Thompson; two brothers, William Walker and Clarence Walker; and two sisters, Evelyn Van Cleave, and Marie Mahaffey.

Clarence Billingsley
1918-2005
McKENZIE - Clarence Billingsley, 87, died Sunday, August 14, at McKenzie Regional Hospital in McKenzie. Services were held at Greater Enon Missionary Baptist Church in McKenzie with Rev. Joe Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Billingsley was born May 26, 1918, in Guntown, Miss., to Mayhue Billingsley and Clemmie Jones Billingsley, both deceased. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Billingsley of McKenzie; two sons, Willing (Louise) Billingsley of Dayton, Ohio and D. Erskine Billingsley of McKenzie; four daughters, Inez Billingsley of McKenzie, Martha Billingsley of Las Vegas, Nevada, Thelma (Wayne) Castleberry of Memphis, and Linda (Milton) Mundy of Louisville, Kentucky; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Robins of Tupelo, Miss.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He served in the Marine Corps in Raleigh, N.C., and was a member of Greater Enon Missionary Baptist Church.

Harold Henry Butler
1932-2005
PARIS - Funeral services for Harold Henry Butler of Paris, were held at 2:00 p.m., August 17, at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Gary S. Collier officiated. Burial followed at Puryear City cemetery.
Butler, 72, died Monday, August 15, at Henry County Medical Center.
Born Sept. 9, 1932, in Dyer County, he was the son of Margaret Louise Butler Lovell of Humboldt and the late Jay Neal Butler. He was the stepson of the late Alfred Lovell.
Butler worked as a riverboat cook on the Mississippi River. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he served as an ammunition truck driver. He was a Baptist.
He leaves two daughters, Nicki Butler of Illinois and Theresa Butler of Trezevant; two sons, Randy Butler of Trezevant and Stephen Butler of Nashville; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and special friend Evelyn Marie Coe.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

COL. JOHN E. RANDLES
1922-2008
MILAN - Col. John R. Randles, 85, died Thursday, March 20, at Milan General Hospital in Milan. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 25, at 11 a.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Camp, Rev. Robert Barger and Rev. Jack C. Randles officiating. Burial followed in Ridgecrest cemetery in Jackson with Dr. Phillip Jett and Rev. Paul Williams officiating along with a special Masonic service.
Mr. Randles was born March 23, 1922 in Knoxville to the late E.E. and Mary Ellen Cusick Randles. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and was an auctioneer with Ridgely Auction and Realty Company. He had lived in Milan for the past 15 years and was Baptist in belief. Col. Randles was a 50 year member of The Somerville Masonic Lodge #73 and a member of The National Association of Realtors. In 1979 he was the T.A.A. Auctioneer's Champion. He received a 10 year Service Award from R.H. Hickman Realty Company in 1998. He also received various awards of appreciation for community service, Ducks Unlimited, Civitan Club, etc.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean C. Randles; one son, Eddie Randles; one stepson, Keith Fesmire; one brother, Bill Randles; and one sister, Elizabeth Morris.
Survivors include: his wife, Nancy Ann Randles of Milan; one son, John (Debra) Randles, Jr. of Chattanooga; one stepson, Lee Fesmire of Marion, Arkansas; two daughters, Judy Kuehner of Herrin, Illinois and Betty (Robert) Barger of Lavinia; one stepdaughter, Gloria Knott of Milan; one brother, Jack A. (Dorothy) Randles of Fallston, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Angie, Amy, Kristi, Randle, Ashley, Cody and John; and five great-grandchildren, Abi, Jayden, Jordan, Dawson and Trey.
Memorials may be directed to the Cody Randles Education Fund, c/o Robert Barger, 7127 Highway 104 West, Lavinia, Tennessee 38348.

MARY M. MELTON
1951-2008
McKENZIE - Mary M. Melton, 56, died Thursday, March 27, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. She resided at McKenzie Health Care Center before her death. Funeral services were Saturday, March 29, at 2 p.m. at McKenzie Church of God with Bro. Clarence Depew, Bro. Kelley Farris, Jr., Bro. Michael Callins and Bro. Ray Lainhart officiating. Burial followed at Concord cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Melton was born June 8, 1951 in Dyer County. She was a member of McKenzie Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Olan Melton.
Survivors include: her parents, Vance and Irene Ham Eaton of McKenzie; one daughter, Brenda (Roger) Christian of McKenzie; two sisters, Darla (Mike) Hicks of West Virginia and Melissa (Larry) Moore of McKenzie; five brothers, Larry (Betty) Eaton, Joey (Jhanettia) Eaton, Ricky Eaton, Tim (Michelle) Eaton, all of McKenzie, and Ronnie (Debbie) Eaton of Jackson; and two grandchildren, Kayla Christian and Justin Christian.

BILLY WAYNE STEWART
1948-2008
GLEASON - Billy Wayne Stewart, 60, died Sunday, March 23, in Des Moines Mercy Hospital. Funeral services were Thursday, March 27, at 2 p.m. at Gleason First Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Price officiating. Burial followed in Carroll County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Stewart was born February 5, 1948 in Martin to the late Roy Lee and Mable Moore Stewart. He was a retired railroad conductor/breakman after 37 years, a Vietnam veteran, and member of Gleason First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Pat Taylor Stewart of Gleason; one son, Steven (Wynafer) Stewart of Gleason; one daughter, Stacy (Wade) Cook of Ankeny, Iowa; one brother, Donnie Stewart of McKenzie; one sister, Joyce Jones of Gleason; and four grandchildren.
Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MILDRED KATHERINE GREGG
1916-2008
HUNTINGDON - Mildred Katherine Gregg, 91, died Monday, March 24, at Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were Wednesday, March 26, at 2 p.m. at Dilday Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Lunsford and Bro. Russell Carlock officiating. Burial followed in Leach Seventh Day Adventist cemetery.
Mrs. Gregg was born September 13, 1916 in Gibson County to the late Alvin and Lila Jones Sellers. She was a retired employee of Gaines Manufacturing Company and a member of Carter's Chapel United Methodist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Fannie Mae Sellers; four brothers, Arthur Williams, Ray Sellers, Billy Sellers, and George Sellers; one sister, Mattie Cole; and one granddaughter.
Survivors include: her husband of 70 years, Joseph Max Gregg; two daughters, Marilyn Maxine (Tom) Casper of Statham, Georgia and Annie Taylor of Jackson; one son, Frank (Brenda) Gregg of Huntingdon; four sisters, Dorothy Martin of Huntingdon, Gertie (Wayne) Dunn and Nellie Myers, both of Cedar Grove, and Shelby (John) Laws of Inverness, Illinois; two brothers, Dean (Mabel) Sellers and Thomas (Patty) Sellers, both of Huntingdon; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

MILDRED K. HOLMES
1912-2008
HUNTINGDON - Mildred Kate Holmes, 95, died Monday, March 24, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were Thursday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at Long Rock United Methodist Church with Bro. Wayne Holmes officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Holmes was born November 23, 1912 in Huntingdon to the late William and Nevada Bowden Pugh. She was a retired employee of Crowley Milner and Company, a member of the Long Rock United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Holmes, and a sister, Adeline Eskew.
Survivors include: two sons, Jimmie Holmes of Dearborn, Michigan and Patrick E. Holmes of Trenton, Michigan; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

PERRY KEE, JR.
1939 - 2008
BRUCETON - Perry Kee, Jr., 68, died Wednesday, March 26, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, March 29, at 11 a.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Arzell Douglas and Bro. Jerry Dodd officiating. Burial followed in Massey-Liles cemetery.
Mr. Kee was born November 27, 1939 in Benton County to the late Perry Kee, Sr. and Harriett (Birdwell) Kee. He worked for the State of Tennessee as a supervisor for the highway department, was County Commissioner from 1984 until 1998, a former member of the Vale Fire Department and a member of the Ephesus Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Faye Bush.
Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Mary Lois Kee; one son, Dennie Wayne (Sondra) Kee of Bruceton; four sisters, Jeanette Massey and Doris DePriest, both of Huntingdon, Treva Taloe and Betty Tenley, both of Paris; and two brothers, Jimmy Kee of Huntingdon and Charles Kee, both of Hollow Rock; and two grandchildren.

MARY L. HARRIS
1916-2008
HUNTINGDON - Mary L. Harris, 92, died Wednesday, March 26, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were Saturday, March 29, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Parker officiating. Burial followed in Parker's Chapel cemetery.
Miss Harris was born February 22, 1916 in Carroll County to the late Shawie Lee Roy Harris and Lee Flora (McClerkin) Harris. She was an assembly worker for Milan Arsenal and a member of the Full Gospel of Huntingdon. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Weldon Harris and Burandel Harris; five brothers, Erdis Harris, Shawie Harris, Augustus Harris, Hurley Harris, and Hulon Harris; two sisters, Cordelia Johnson and Beatrice Harris; and one niece, Wilma Harris.
Survivors include: one son, Roy Lee Harris of Huntingdon, and one half-sister, Toley Pearson of Lexington.

DOROTHY MAY BURKE
1921-2008
GLEASON - Dorothy May Burke, 86, died Monday, March 24, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Wednesday, March 26, at 2 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Price officiating. Burial followed in Hopewell cemetery.
Mrs. Burke was born April 27, 1921 in Paris to the late Raymond D. McKenzie and Winnie Ruth Baker. She was a former employee of Sharon Pajama Factory and was a member of Tumbling Creek Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Burke.
Survivors include: one daughter, Ruth Pryor of Gleason; two stepsons, Thomas Burke of Gleason and Larry Burke of McKenzie; one stepdaughter, Martha Burke of McKenzie; one brother, L.T. McKenzie of Paris; two sisters, Shirley Mann of McKenzie and Betty Brown of Henry; and four grandchildren.

LEE DINNING
1916-2008
PARIS - Lee Dinning, 91, died Thursday, March 27, at Henry County Healthcare Center. Graveside services were Sunday, March 30, at 2 p.m. at New Hope cemetery in Gleason with Bo Caldwell officiating.
Mrs. Dinning was born December 7, 1916 in McKenzie to the late Elmore and Emma Weatherford Gaskins. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eichard A. "Ed" Dinning; two sisters, Jessie Wilkes and Elizabeth Gaskins; and two brothers, Roy and Marvell Gaskins.
Survivors include: a friend, Wanda (Charles) French of Paris; one stepson, Terry (Barbara) Dinning of East Lansing, Michigan; and two stepgrandsons.

RUTH OPHELIA GILBERT
1959-2008
McKENZIE - Ruth Ophelia Gilbert, 48, died Tuesday, March 25, at her residence in McKenzie. Funeral services were Saturday, March 29, at 3 p.m. at Olivet Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Ms. Gilbert was born March 31, 1959 in McKenzie. She was a graduate of Webb School Class of 1977 and Lane College in Jackson. She was employed by Halls Printing Company for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Ike Gilbert, Sr.; one sister, Clara Beatrice Gilbert; and two brothers, Bobby Louis Gilbert and Omar Lee Gilbert.
Survivors include: one daughter, Ambi Nicole Gilbert of Jackson; her mother, Vera Price Gilbert of McKenzie; two brothers, Ike (Jane) Gilbert, Jr. of Huntingdon and Melvin (Bernice) Jones of Louisville, Kentucky; two sisters, Sleita Gilbert of Memphis and Nellie Gilbert of McKenzie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
