MAXINE GURLEY

CLARKSBURG - Maxine Gurley, 81, died Thursday, March 20, at her home. Funeral services were Saturday, March 22, at 1 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Marshall Gurley officiating. Burial followed in Clarksburg cemetery.
Mrs. Gurley was born December 23, 1926 in Carroll County to the late Lynn Seagraves and Mary (Robertson) Seagraves. She was a sewing machine operator for Publix Shirt Corporation and a member of the New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Gurley.
Survivors include: her husband of 61 years, Melvin Gurley; one son, Gregor (Brenda) Gurley of Cedar Grove; two sisters, Alma Bond and Ailene Pendergrass, both of Huntingdon; one brother, Billy (Mary) Seagraves of Bruceton; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

COL. JOHN E. RANDLES
MILAN - Col. John E. Randles, 85, auctioneer for Ridgely Auction and Realty Co., died Thursday at Milan General Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 25, at 11 a.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial in Ridgecrest cemetery, Jackson.
Mr. Randles was a 50 year member of the Somerville Masonic Lodge #73; a member of the U.S. Coast Guard; a member of the National Association of Realtors; in 1979 he was the T.A.A. Auctioneer's Champion; he received a 10 year service award from R.H. Hickman Realty Company in 1998; he also received various awards of appreciation for community service; Ducks Unlimited, Civitan Club, etc. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean C. Randles; a son, Eddie Randles; a brother, Bill Randles and a stepson, Keith Fesmire.
Survivors include: his wife, Nancy Ann Randles; one son, John (Debra) Randles, Jr. of Chattanooga; two daughters, Judy Kuehner of Herrin, Illinois and Betty (Robert) Barger of Lavinia; one stepson, Lee Fesmire of Marion, Arkansas; one stepdaughter, Gloria Knott of Milan; one brother, Jack C. (Dorothy) Randles of Fallston, Maryland; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

RICHARD H. KOTSCH
1935-2008
ATWOOD - Richard H. Kotsch, 73, died Friday, March 21, at his home. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 25, at 1 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Rev. Malcolm Norton officiating. Burial followed at Pisgah cemetery in Atwood.
Mr. Kotsch was born March 19, 1935 in Albion, Michigan. He was the owner of Atwood Acres Trailer Park, a former Vice-President of Hill and Hill Truck Line in Houston, Texas, self-employed in sales and operations as a truck brokerage company, and also a former truck driver for Yellow Freight. He attended Milan First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert P. Kotsch.
Survivors include: his wife, Alicia K. Hopkins Kotsch of Atwood; his mother, Frances Walker of Cabot, Arkansas; one daughter, Linda (Joe) Sheriff of Key Largo, Florida; two sons, Robert (Tammy) Kotsch of Paris and David (Teresa) Kotsch of Fairview; two stepsons, Kim (Sharon) Cato of McKinney, Texas and Kevin Cato of Atwood; one stepdaughter, Sue Cato of Clinton Twp., Michigan; one sister, Jackie Wilson of Cabot, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Davy, Daniel, and Dillon Kotsch, Joey and Lisa Sheriff; six step-grandchildren, Mark, Tom, Sam, Stephen, Cheyenne and Josie Cato; one great-granddaughter, Mya Kotsch; and one step-great-granddaughter, Lisa Cato; and several nieces and nephews.

CATE ELIZABETH BEELER
1 MONTH
McKENZIE - Cate Elizabeth Beeler, 1 month, died Thursday, March 27, at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Private graveside services we held Sunday at Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Cate was born February 23, 2008 in Jackson to Tim and Ashley Simmons Beeler of McKenzie.
Survivors include: her parents, one sister, Carli Paige Beeler of McKenzie; two brothers, Drew Bradford Beeler and Miles Harrison Beeler, both of McKenzie; maternal grandparents, Gary and Debbie Simmons of McKenzie; maternal great-grandmother, Nola Simmons of Nashville; paternal grandmother, Gloria Albright of Tiptonville; paternal grandfather, Jackie Beeler of Nashville; and paternal great-grandmother, Mary Lewis of Tiptonville.

RUTH ELIZABETH ANDERSON
1930-2008
McKENZIE - Ruth Elizabeth Anderson, 78, died Monday, March 31, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services are Wednesday, April 2, at 11 a.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Rex Buford officiating. Burial will follow at Jones cemetery in Wildersville.
Mrs. Anderson was born February 22, 1930 in Buena Vista to the late William C. and Corinne Worrell Johnson, Jr. She was a retired cafeteria employee for the McKenzie school system and homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: her husband of 54 years, James Fred Anderson of McKenzie; one daughter, Jan (Tim) Birmingham of McKenzie; two sons, James Roy (Marilynn) Anderson and Joseph Lynn (Katherine) Anderson, both of McKenzie; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Larry David Marshall
1947-2005
TREZEVANT - Services for Larry David Marshall, 57, were at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, at First Baptist Church with Bro. Malcolm Norton officiating. Interment icon followed in Trezevant cemetery.
Mr. Marshall, a production worker for Bassell in Jackson, died Saturday, April 16, at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
He was born November 19, 1947, in McKenzie and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trezevant.
Survivors include his mother, Brooxie Tate Marshall of Trezevant; a daughter, Lori Marshall of Trezevant; a stepson, Chris (DeAnna) Mann of Huntingdon; a brother, Jeff (Dana) Marshall of Atwood; six sisters: Betty (Frank) Price of Camden, Carolyn (Jim) Parish and Tammy (Gary) Winston, both of McKenzie, Shirley (Bill) Connell of Bradford, Ouida (John) Klock of Elizabethton and Kay (Dennis) Reed of Olive Branch, Mississippi; a special friend, Pricilla Camper; and three grandchildren, Sammie Lusk, Dustin Mann, and Kelsey Mann.

Alma R. Dickson
1924-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Alma R. Dickson, 80, were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Interment icon followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Dickson, a homemaker, died Wednesday, April 13, at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born April 26, 1924, in Trezevant to the late Clint A. Singleton and Martha 'Mattie' Ervin Singleton.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Dickson of McKenzie; six sons: Gene (Donna) Gaston of Gilbertsville, Kentucky, Gary (Jerri) Gaston of Warner Robbins, Georgia, Hank (Doris) Dickson of McKenzie, James (Sue) Dickson of Henry, Gordon (Anita) Dickson of Greenfield, and Robert (Amy) Dickson of Union City; one half-brother, Harold Blaylock of McKenzie; 10 grandchildren: Kim (Daniel) Cary, Ryan (Becky) Dickson, Bryce Gaston, Jr., Jeannie (Bill) Sydnor, Dwayne (Amy) Gaston, Eddie Dickson, Brandi Dickson, J.R. (Amanda) Dickson, Lisa (Joey) Work, Steven Dickson; and 14 great-grandchildren: Raegan, Gage, Matt, Sean, Tyler, Chloe, Christopher, Cory, Caleb, Cheyenne, Grace, Jon Austin, Tori and Blake. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Robin Dickson.

Madgelyne Todd Dailey
1927-2005
HUNTINGDON - Services for Madgelyne Todd Dailey, 77, were held Wednesday, April 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Dilday Funeral Home with Brother Wayne Holmes officiating. Interment icon followed in Jamison cemetery.
Mrs. Dailey died Monday, April 11.
She was born in Wildersville on April 19, 1927, to the late Roby Birch Todd and Celm Todd. She was one of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Preston Dailey of Linden, to whom she was married in November 1944 in Corinth, Mississippi. They moved to Dayton, Ohio, where Preston worked for General Motors and Madge worked for Sunshine Biscuit until their retirement in 1976.
They returned to Huntingdon where Madge worked in the Huntingdon Middle School cafeteria. She attended the New Hope Baptist Church in Yuma.
Survivors include two children: Barbara (Paul) Moore of Huntingdon and Karman (Kevin) Wilkes of Chattanooga; three grandchildren: Melissa (Jace) Sides of Huntingdon and Kacie and Konner Wilkes, both of Chattanooga; one step grandson, Paul Wayne Moore of Parsons; one brother, Edd Todd of Clarksburg; a sister, Nell Hatch of Huntingdon; and many nieces and nephews. www.dilday.com

J.B. JOHNSONIUS
1922-2007
McKENZIE - J.B. Johnsonius, 84, died Monday, January 22, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Friday, January 26, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Pratt Hubbard officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
He owned and operated Johnsonius Sheet Metal works in McKenzie until 1995. Johnsonius Sheet Metal Works was established by his father, Hobson Merrimac Johnsonius, in 1927.
The firm became a Lenox dealership in 1928 and by the time the firm was closed in 1995 due to J.B. Johnsonius' retirement it was one of the oldest Lenox dealerships in the United States. In 1987 the business was recognized as the second oldest firm in McKenzie continuously operated by the same family. Lennox recognized Johnsonius Sheet Metal Works in 1988 for over 60 years of service. Lennox recognized the firm with several other awards for quality and service.
Mr. Johnsonius was a lifetime member of the VFW and a WWII U.S. Army Air Corp Combat Veteran. He served as a photo lab chief on Tinian and flew combat missions over Japan in B-29s. His unit processed some of the first black and white photos of the atomic bomb as it was dropped on Hiroshima.
Mr. Johnsonius was born June 19, 1922 in Paris. His family moved to McKenzie in 1927 and he always considered McKenzie his home. He was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church USA in McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobson Merrimac and Donna McFadden Johnsonius, all of McKenzie.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruth Skellion Johnsonius; two daughters, Victoria "Viki" (George) Hatcher of San Antonio, Texas, and Teresa "Teri" (Loyd) Ford of Calvert City, Kentucky; two sons, J.B. (Jenny) Johnsonius, Jr. of Paris, and Hoppy (Kim) Johnsonius of McKenzie; one sister, Jean (Paul) Straub of Memphis; and 10 grandchildren.

MELBA RHEA MCCLURE MOSELEY
1929-2007
McKENZIE - Melba Rhea McClure Moseley, 77, died Monday, January 22, at Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Center in Nashville. Funeral services were Friday, January 26, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Bro. Harrell Nation officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
A native of Decatur County, Mrs. Moseley was born July 26, 1929 to the late Bob and Esther McClure. She graduated from Bethel College and after graduation taught fifth grade at Greenfield Elementary School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, ladies VFW auxiliary, Alpha Phi Sigma Sorority and was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 45 years, John H. Moseley; one infant son, George Robert Moseley; two sisters, Louise McClure Bledsoe and Helen McClure Newbill; and one brother, Lloyd McClure.
Survivors include: one daughter, Patti Moseley (Bruce) Coleman of Murfreesboro; two sons, Johnny (Elizabeth) Moseley, Jr. of Medina and Bobby (Lisa) Moseley of Hendersonville; two sisters, Alma McClure Odom and Pauline McClure White; and eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Coleman (Ross) Brodie, Sarah Coleman (Jason) Edwards, Hannah Coleman, Abigail Coleman, Kaitlyn Moseley, Logan Moseley, Will Moseley and Matt Moseley.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

WILLIAM EDWARD "BILL" SMITH
1939-2007
HUNTINGDON - William Edward "Bill" Smith, 67, died Monday, January 22, at his home. Funeral services were Thursday, January 25, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Martin officiating. Burial followed in Bethel cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born October 20, 1939 in Carroll County. He was a retired salesman. He was preceded in death by his father, James William (Jamie) Smith.
Survivors include: his wife of 28 years, Betty (Martin) Smith; his mother, Bernice Lavern Smith of Huntingdon; three daughters, Heather Smith of Huntingdon, Tami (John) Hunt of PoQuoson, Virginia, and Deeanne (Dave) Grimms of Glouster, Virginia; one son, Dean (Karen) Smith of PoQuoson, Virginia; two sisters, Mary Frances Stokes of Hendersonville, and Maletha Rich of Waverly; and seven grandchildren.

BETTYE MARGARET ALLEN
1942-2007
HUNTINGDON - Bettye Margaret Allen, 64, died Monday, January 22, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Friday, January 26, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Mullikin officiating. Burial followed in Humbles cemetery.
Mrs. Allen was born August 14, 1942 in Huntingdon. She was a retired production worker from Murray Manufacturing Company and a member of Huntingdon First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Oneal Allen.
Survivors include: her mother, Kate Allen of Huntingdon; one son, Gary (Penny) Allen of Cedar Grove; and four grandchildren.

GORDON GECOVIA LINDSEY
1927-2007
YUMA - Gordon Gecovia Lindsey, 79, died Monday January 22, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Thursday, January 25, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Andrew Stokes, Bro. Lynn Stapleton, and Bro. Phillip Halters officiating. Burial followed in Clarksburg cemetery.
Mr. Lindsey was born March 2, 1927 to the late Eugene Lindsey and Geneva (Hodge) Lindsey. He was a retired farmer, a member of Clarksburg Missionary Baptist Church, and a World War II veteran. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Iris Burner and Mayce Floyd.
Survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Larue (Rickman) Lindsey; one daughter, Penny (Jeff) Cary of Yuma; two sons, Kemp (Janis) Lindsey of Huntingdon, and Roger (Pam) Lindsey of Yuma; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
