MEMPHIS - Elijah Steven Cole, four months old, died Friday, February 25, at Germantown Methodist Hospital. Autopsy results are not final.
He is survived by his parents, Shelby and Kelley Cole of Collierville, and his grandparents, Danny Cole and Rita Shell, formerly of McKenzie.
'Eli's short little life touched our lives like we never imagined possible,' said Shell. 'He will be sadly missed.'

Charles Talmadge Flippin
1931-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Charles Talmadge Flippin, 74, were Monday, March 7, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home, with Reverends Larry Moore, Vance Rushing and Glen Cooley officiating. Military graveside services followed at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Flippin, a retired inspector for the U.S. Army at the Milan Army Ammunition Plant, died Saturday, March 5, at his residence. He was a native of the Big Buck Community in Carroll County.
He was born January 19, 1931, to the late James Allen Flippin and Mary Gertrude McAlexander Flippin. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, the McKenzie Jaycees, a post senior vice commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4939 in McKenzie, and a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean Conflict era in Germany. He was discharged from the Army as a private first class and served with the Tennessee Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, June Chandler Flippin; a daughter, Stacy (Donnie) Rina Beasley of McKenzie; a son, Charles (Kathy) Michael Flippin; two sisters, Aline Lowe and Martha Jean (Lyndol) Glisson, both of McKenzie; three brothers, Neil Flippin, Richard (Margaret) Flippin, and Bobby (Velta) Flippin, all of McKenzie; a grandson, Brandon Flippin, and a great-grandson, Zack Flippin, both of McKenzie; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Flippin, of Eads.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth French, and a brother, James Flippin.
Ailene McCadams

McKENZIE - Services for Ailene McCadams, 86, were Sunday, March 6, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home with Reverends John Pugh and Harrell Nations officiating. Interment
followed in the Shiloh cemetery.
Mrs. McCadams, widow of Reuben Earl McCadams, was retired from the Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company. She died Thursday, March 3, at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born April 17, 1918, in McKenzie, to the late Roy Ridley and Katie Bowden Ridley. She was a member of the McKenzie United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Ridley, Rachel Ridley and Eddie Hickman; a brother, Otto Ridley; a niece, Ruth Ridley Carr; and three nephews, Gordon Hickman, Douglas Hickman and Frank 'Bobby' Ridley.
Survivors include five stepsons, Ronnie McCadams of Milan, Darrell McCadams of McKenzie, Mike McCadams of Dresden, and Hansel McCadams and Tansel McCadams, both of Paris; several nieces and nephews: Duane (Opal) Ridley, Joe (Mary) Ridley, Joyce (Bill) Driskell, Gaylon (Joann) Hickman and Sylvia Hickman, all of McKenzie; and a special friend, Ernest Black, Jr., of McKenzie.
Thelma Tilman Sampson

McKENZIE - Services for Thelma Tilman Townes Sampson, 88, were Saturday, March 5, at 2:00 p.m., at Enon Baptist Church with the Reverends Dennis Beal and Arthur Bain officiating. Interment
followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Sampson, widow of Otis Sampson and a homemaker and factory worker, died Tuesday, March 1, at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born December 7, 1916, in McKenzie, to the late James McDonald 'Mack' Townes and Myrtice McNeil Townes. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Jamie Townes, Maurice Townes and Lena Ownby.
Survivors include four daughters, Sue Coleman of McKenzie, Kay Sampson, and Fay Sampson and Carolyn Nechtman, all of Augusta, Georgia; two sisters, Laura Delaney and Frances Curtis, both of McKenzie; five grandchildren, Phillip Coleman, Kim Wiggins, Douglas Coleman, Tillman Nechtman and Chalet Nechtman; and five great-grandchildren.
Carnell Newbill

HUNTINGDON - Services for Carnell Newbill, 88, were held Saturday, March 5, at 1:00 p.m. at the Reedy Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Nelson Falls officiating. Interment
followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Newbill died on Friday, March 4, at the Huntingdon Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born July 24, 1916, in Carroll County to the late Leon and Lula Adams Newbill. He was a retired custodian for the ITT Corporation and a member of Reedy Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Leon Newbill, and a brother, Curtis Newbill.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Ardell Newbill; four daughters, Shirley Porter of Huntingdon, Doris Milton of Fort Washington, Maryland, Swayzene Newbill of McLemoresville and Frances Robinson of Oxon Hill, Maryland; four sons, Othell Newbill of McLemoresville, Charles Newbill of Ridgely, Maryland, Rogers Newbill of Milan and Stanley Newbill of McLemoresville; 22 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
Leontine 'Tina' Blankenship

NORTONSVILLE, KENTUCKY: Services for Leontine 'Tina' Blankenship, 75, were Tuesday, March 1, at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonsville. Interment
was in New Salem cemetery in Nortonsville.
Mrs. Blankenship died Saturday, February 26, after a long illness. She was born in Nortonsville, but lived most of her life in Detroit, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Blankenship.
Survivors include five daughters: Carol A. Burks of McKenzie; Glenda Craft of Taylor, Michigan; Lorraine and son-in-law Jack Roberts of McKenzie; Tammy Dauss of Traverse City, Michigan; and Tina Blankenship of Jonesborough; one sister, Mary Kaffenbarger of Dayton, Ohio; one brother, Raymond Pendley of Madisonville, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
John James 'Teddy' Gilkey

Mr. Gilkey, a retired logger and farmer, died Wednesday, March 2, at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
He was born November 12, 1907, in McKenzie, to the late James Marion Gilkey and Elizabeth Isabella Ezzell Gilkey. He was a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ.
There were no immediate survivors.
J.C. Tucker

Mr. Tucker, a retired mechanic for the Tennessee State Highway Department, died Friday, March 4, at Oak Manor Health Care Center.
He was born May 3, 1919, in Dresden, to the late John Henry Tucker and Clercy Moubrey Tucker. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sudie Campbell Tucker; a son, James Hal Tucker of McKenzie, and a sister, Minnie Jane McKnight of Greenfield.
Frances Leona Reynolds
1929-2005
HOLLOW ROCK - Services for Frances Leona Reynolds, 75, will be conducted on Wednesday, March 9, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tim Gentile officiating. Interment
will follow in McBride cemetery.
Mrs. Reynolds died Monday, March 7, at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.
The family will receive friends in the Cherry Wood Room of the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 8:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
Mrs. Reynolds was born August 11, 1929, in Hornersville, Missouri, to the late Jeffo and Lucy Helton Shands. She retired from the clothing industry in retail sales and was a member of the Bruceton Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Marie Vaughn and two brothers, Mitchell Shands and Glen Hale Shands.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Dewell Reynolds; three sons, Dennis Wayne Vaughn of Clarkrange, Edward Allen Vaughn of Smyrna and Tony Lee Vaughn of Carrollton, Georgia; two stepsons, Marty Reynolds of California and Clay Reynolds of Smyrna; three stepdaughters, Darlene Harvelle of Murfreesboro, Michelle Ramano of Washington state and Dixie Lee Hawes of Franklin; two sisters, Kitty Funderburk of Steele, Missouri, and Cathy Henry of Hornersville, Missouri; 20 grandchildren; and several grandchildren.

She was born July 29, 1919, to the late Calvin and Etta Liza Toombs Blackwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylon Stewart. She was a retired employee of Wilker Brothers and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

GLEASON - Services for Richard 'Dick' Stephens Wahl, Sr., were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris. Mr. Wahl died at his home on Thursday, March 3.
He was born March 2, 1935, to the late Steve and Betty Klostermann Wahl. He was a retired security guard for Watertower Place Security and was a Marine veteran.
Survivors include a son, Rich Wahl, Jr. of Unionville; two daughters, Karen Wahl Mitchell of Gleason and Beth Wahl Collins of Latham; three brothers, Ken Wahl of Clancy, Montana, Bill Wahl of Naperville, Illinois and Danny Wahl of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters, Bonnie Kist of Greenwood, Indiana and Barbara Voldering of Chicago, Illinois; and three grandchildren.

GLEASON - George Daniel 'Danny' Bradberry, 52, died Friday, March 4, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. The body was cremated.
Mr. Bradberry, disabled, was born September 17, 1952, in Paris.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Dawn Waller Bradberry; his mother, Martha Sue Owen Bradberry of Gleason; a brother, Gary Bradberry of Alexandria, Virginia and two sisters, Linda Gibbons of Pinson and Shelia Keeling of Gleason.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Edward Bradberry, and a brother, Larry Bradberry.
