McKENZIE - Services for Marion Leon Nanney, 69, were at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, at Enon Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Nanney, retired from Ford Motor Co., died Tuesday, March 1, at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
He was born July 24, 1935, in Maysville, Oklahoma. He was a sergeant with the 11th Airborne Division Screaming Eagles; a 32nd degree Mason, Lake Lodge #157 F.&A.&M., Crown Point, Indiana; Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of South Bend; and a member of Enon Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Sue Beal Nanney; his mother, Gladys Irene Kemp Nanney; his father, Andrew Lacy Nanney; his stepfather, Marion Brown; and a brother, Richard Brown.
Survivors include a son, Wayne (Tammy) Nanney of Georgetown, Texas; three daughters, Linda (Rich) Pitcher of St. Johns, Indiana, Connie Nanney of Austin, Texas and Elizabeth (Rick) Heath of McKenzie; two brothers, Frank Nanney of Tishomingo, Oklahoma and Fred Brown of Ardmore, Oklahoma; a sister, Margaret Sporeleader of Colquitt, Georgia; caregiver, Amber King; nine grandchildren, Kim Gilliard, Keith Nanney, Meredith Nanney, Jerred Nanney, Ashley Snodgrass, Ashley Heath, Aaron Lemmon, Songia Lemmon and Kameron Nanney; and four great-grandchildren, Paige, Colby, Jordian and Lily.

Sharon F. Wheet
1960-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Sharon F. Wheet, 44, were at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 4, at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Interment icon was in Bethel cemetery in Huntingdon.
Mrs. Wheet, a factory worker, died Wednesday, March 2, at her residence.
She was born May 5, 1960, in Huntingdon, to the late Pearl Lee Wilson and Betty Chester Wilson.
Survivors include her husband, MacArthur Wheet; two daughters, Misty Azbill and Pamela Bell, both of McKenzie; two stepdaughters, Melinda Wallace and Angie Christman, both of McKenzie; six brothers, Ronnie Wilson, Billy Wilson, Thomas Wilson, James Wilson, Leroy Wilson and Terry Wilson, all of Huntingdon; four sisters, Norma Hughes of Camden and Brenda Kirkland, Judy Snow and Bonnie Wilson, all of Huntingdon; special sisters-in-law, Lucille Blaylock and Jessie Cude; three grandchildren, Ashley Azbill, Haley Edmiston and Dustin Bell; and three step-grandchildren, Leslie Wheet, Shane Wheet and Bailey Christman.

Sergeant James Dustin Carroll
1981-2005
McKENZIE - Service for Sergeant James Dustin "Dusty" Carroll, 23, will be conducted Thursday, August 11, in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. The body will then be cremated. A private family burial service will be held.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 10, from 3:00-9:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 11, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Carroll, a member of the Army National Guard 230th Engineer Battalion, Company A, died on Sunday, July 31, near Baghdad, Iraq.
He was born in Union City on September 4, 1981, to James Patton and Debra Carroll. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Carroll.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Debra Carroll and John Brimm of McKenzie; his father and stepmother, Pat and Barbara Carroll of McKenzie; one sister, Jennifer Robin Jones of Milan; three stepsisters, Mary Ann Nichols of Dickson, Renee Mitchell of Highland, Illinois, and Judy Dykeman of Dickson; his grandmother, Mary Carroll of Henry; and fiance', Virginia Beal of McKenzie.
Rosa Bryant Long
1920-2005
McKENZIE - Graveside services for Rosa Bryant Long, 85, formerly of Henry County, were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 8, at Poplar Springs cemetery with the Rev. Clarence Depew officiating. Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Long died Saturday, August 6, at Huntingdon Health and Rehab Center.
She was born February 19, 1920, in McKenzie to the late Bud Kemp and Margaret Thompson Kemp. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Bryant and a son, Arthur Junior Bryant.
Survivors include her husband, Willie B. Long; a daughter, Frances Smith of McKenzie; five stepchildren; several half-sisters and brothers; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Jennie Lee Funderburk
1917-2005
HUNTINGDON - Services for Jennie Lee Funderburk, 88, were conducted Monday, August 8, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roger Patton officiating. Interment icon followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Funderburk died Friday, August 5, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
She was born April 25, 1917, in Carroll County, to the late Acie McCollum and Jennie Earl Peeples McCollum. She was a retired employee of the Bank of Huntingdon and an elder in the Huntingdon First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Brooks Funderburk, who was a retired mail carrier and World War II veteran.
Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews.

Billy Joe Sanders
1946-2005
HOLLOW ROCK - Services for Billy Joe Sanders, 58, were conducted Sunday, August 7, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Steve Davis officiating. Interment icon followed in the Bethlehem cemetery.
Mr. Sanders died Friday, August 5, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born November 5, 1946, in Carroll County, to the late Hobart Sanders and Rosa Evans Sanders. He was an engineer for CSX Railroad and a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Sanders.
Survivors include one daughter, Julie Higdon of Hollow Rock and one son, Tom Sanders of Hollow Rock; one sister, Peggy Kelley of Memphis; three brothers, Warren Sanders of Huntingdon, Dallas Sanders of Brighton, Colorado, and Bobby Sanders of McKenzie; and two grandchildren.

Billy W. Carroll
1929-2005
CEDAR GROVE - Services for Billy Weldon Carroll, 76, were conducted Friday, August 5, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Burton officiating. Interment icon followed in New Bethel cemetery in Cedar Grove.
Mr. Carroll died Wednesday, August 3, at the NHC Healthcare in Milan.
He was born February 28, 1929, in Carroll County, to the late Homer Carroll and Roxie Smothers Carroll. He was a retired logger. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Adrain Carroll, Avery Carroll and Gordon Carroll.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Donna Wheeler; one stepson, George Doss of Dyersburg; two sisters, Venita Laws and Virgie Pearee, both of Huntingdon; one brother, Ralph Carroll of Cedar Grove; four granddaughters; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Arleen Green Robertson
1932-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Arleen Green Robertson, 73, were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 4, at Brummitt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenny Carr officiating. Interment icon was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Robertson, a retired factory worker, died Monday, August 1, at McKenzie Health Care Center.
She was born January 30, 1932, in Paris, to the late Charles Raymond Green and Gracie Bishop Green.
Survivors include her husband, Aaron Robertson; two sons, Larry (Tina) Robertson of Murfreesboro and Keith (Lori) Robertson of McKenzie; a brother, Richard (Jean) Green of Cahokia, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Brandi Tenpenny, Brittney Robertson, Lesley Robertson and Luke Robertson.

Sylvia Vermillion Purvis
1928-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Sylvia Vermillion Purvis, 77, were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 5, at Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Allen officiating.
Mrs. Purvis, a retired Head Start teacher, died Wednesday, August 3, at her residence.
She was born in McKenzie on February 29, 1928, to the late Harry and Lillian Griffin Nuttings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Franklin Vermillion.
Survivors include four daughters, Sylvia Jean Vermillion and Shelia Vermillion, both of McKenzie, Carolyn Smith of Atwood and Mary Ann Bechman of Clarksburg; four sons, Jerry Vermillion, Billy Joe Vermillion, James Vermillion and Tommy Vermillion, all of McKenzie; two sisters, Dovie Nuttings of McKenzie and Aggie B. Cartwell of Lansing, Michigan; one brother, Jack Nuttings of Dallas, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Charles Edward Stone
1946-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Charles Edward Stone, 59, were conducted Tuesday, August 9, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Claude Prince officiating. Interment icon followed in Shiloh cemetery.
Mr. Stone, a retired factory worker, died Saturday, August 6, at his residence.
He was born in McKenzie on June 27, 1946, to the late Bill and Fannie Payne Stone. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Stone, and a brother, J.C. Stone.
Survivors include one son, Eddie Stone of Gleason; two sisters, Jean Barker and Nellie Roberts, both of McKenzie; two brothers, William Stone and Walter Stone, both of McKenzie; and four grandchildren.

Jewel Irene Clanton
1912-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Jewel Irene Clanton, 93, were conducted Friday, July 8, at 2:00 p.m., at the McKenzie Church of Christ, with Bro. Terry Joe Kee officiating. Interment icon followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Clinton died Thursday, July 7, at McKenzie Health Care Center.
She was born May 21, 1912, to the late Will Kee and Lonie Howell Kee. She was a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Chapman Clanton; two brothers, Ernest Kee and Harvey Kee; and one sister, Gladys Swim.
Survivors include three daughters, Iona Dunlap, Carolyn Maddox and Bonnie Martin, all of McKenzie; two brothers, Malcolm Kee and Elvis Kee, both of McKenzie; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Brummitt Funeral Home of McKenzie was in charge of the arrangements.

William "Billy" Davis
1940-2005
BRUCETON - Services for William L. "Billy" Davis, 65 were conducted Saturday, July 16, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Hugo Sellers and Dalton Davis officiating. Interment icon followed in the Hebron cemetery.
Mr. Davis died Thursday, July 14, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born March 27, 1940, in Henderson, to the late L. Etheridge Davis and Mary Excell Lewis Davis. He retired as a factory worker for the Henry I. Siegel Company. He was preceded in death by one brother, Edward L. Davis.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Eleanor Davis; two sons, Terry L. Davis of Bruceton and Gary Wayne Davis of Huntingdon; one sister, Cornelia Pritchard of Clarksburg; and one granddaughter.
