GREENFIELD - Rachel M. Boaz, 86, died Saturday, May 3, at Regional Hospital of Jackson. Funeral services were Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield with Bro. Keith Pence officiating. Burial followed in Meridian cemetery in Greenfield.
Mrs. Boaz was born January 22, 1922 to the late Ollie Raney and Luna Scates in Greenfield.
Survivors include: two sons, Tommy Boaz of Hollow Rock and Johnny Boaz of Greenfield.

KEITH UNDERWOOD
1957-2008
HUNTINGDON - Keith Underwood, 50, formerly of Newbern, died Sunday, May 4, at his home. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern with Bro. Todd Walker officiating. Burial followed in Zion cemetery in Elbridge.
Mr. Underwood was born July 21, 1957 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by one stepbrother, Wicky Bargery.
Survivors include: his mother, Norma Willis of Newbern; his father, Melvin (Billie) Underwood; his companion, Carol Wauagh of Huntingdon; one daughter, Brooke Underwood of Dyersburg; one sister, Cindy Brock of Newbern; two stepsisters, Laurie Myers of Newbern and Shari Stevens of Jackson; one brother, Rodney Underwood of Obion.

JAMES WILLIAM "BILL" MANESS
1946-2008
ATWOOD - James William "Bill" Maness, 61, died Saturday, May 3, at his home. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Wilkerson officiating. Burial followed in Pisgah cemetery in Atwood.
Mr. Maness was born July 17, 1946 in Decatur County. He was a retired truck driver and member of First United Pentecostal Church in Humboldt. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Maness.
Survivors include: his wife, Meredith Lisa Maness of Atwood; his mother, Evelyn (Bobby) Mathis of Atwood; two daughters, Angie Frazier of Jackson and Brandie Maness of Trezevant; four sons, Billy Joe Maness of Memphis, Larry Dean Maness of Oakfield, Charles Maness and Harry Maness, both of Atwood; one brother, Odell Maness of Gibson; three sisters, Patsy Terry of Atwood, Peggy Trull of Humboldt, and Murine Thompson of Spring Creek; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

FRANCES TURNER HARRIS
1911-2008
FRANKLIN: Frances Turner Harris, 97, died Sunday, May 4, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas. Graveside services are Wednesday, May 7, at 2 p.m. at Shiloh cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Harris was born January 3, 1911 in Paris to the late William Claude Turner and Attie Hemby Turner. She was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Bryson Harris.
Survivors include: one daughter, Caole (Ken) Sharp of Salt Lake City, Utah; one son, John (Barb) Harris of Longview, Texas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie is in charge of arrangements.

JIMMY RAY PEARSON
1947-2008
HUNTINGDON - Jimmy Ray Pearson, 61, died Friday, February 8, at his home. Funeral services were Sunday, February 10, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Schmidt officiating. Burial followed in Leach Seventh Day Adventist cemetery.
Mr. Pearson was born January 18, 1947 in Lexington and was raised by the late Ike and Myrtle Melton. He was employed by the Milan Arsenal for many years and was a member of the Leach Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was also preceded in death by one stepsister, Shirlene Floyd.
Survivors include: his wife of 41 years, Brenda (Barger) Pearson; two sons, Kiley (Stephanie) Pearson and Johnny (Lori) Pearson of Huntingdon; one brother, Wylie (Martha) Pearson of Huntingdon; one half sister, Anna Lee Ramsey of Maine; two stepsisters, Zulla Hall of Lexington and Jerri Young of Bruceton; and five grandchildren.

CARRIE ELLA STAFFORD
1923-2008
YUMA - Carrie Ella Stafford, 84, died Friday, February 8, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were Saturday, February 9, at 1 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Larry DePriest officiating. Burial followed at Sellers Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Stafford was born August 10, 1923 in Cherokee, Alabama to the late Charles Wesley Ham and Minie Kaye (Victory) Ham. She was a homemaker and a member of the Tate Holiness Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Roy Stafford; three sons, O'Neal Stafford, Harold Stafford, and Roger Stafford; and four brothers, Henry Ham, Bill Ham, Tom Ham and Paul Ham.
Survivors include: four daughters, Christine Cavera, Delores (Fidel) Tejeda, Glynda (Roy) Denning, Connie (Ricky) Patterson, all of Yuma; three sons, Joseph "Tony" (Sha) Stafford, Donald (Brenda) Stafford, and Willie (Margarita) Stafford, all of Yuma; one sister, Katherine Ham of Alabama; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.

Joe Luther Barker
1937-2005
HUNTINGDON - Joe Luther Barker, 68, died Wednesday, October 5, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 6, in the chapel of Dilday Funeral Home with Brother Rufus Chandler officiating. Interment icon followed in the New Crossroads cemetery.
Mr. Barker was born March 21, 1937, in Memphis, to the late Luther and Sarah Coleman Barker. He was a self-employed tree surgeon.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Yockem Barker; four sons: Joe Barker Jr. of Huntingdon, Ricky Barker of Parsons, T.J. Barker of Savannah, and Jeff Harrington of Huntingdon; a daughter, Anita Harrington of Waynesboro; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Barker.

Eula G. "Gee Gee" Butler
McKENZIE - Eula G. "Gee Gee" Butler, 88, died Sunday, October 9, at Life Care Center of Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted October 12 in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Jerry Drye officiating. Burial followed in McAuley cemetery in Buena Vista.
Mrs. Butler was a retired sitter for the elderly and a member of Long Heights Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Bobby (Nancy) Butler of McKenzie, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Butler; her parents, Guy and Nettie Worrell; one daughter, Betty Jean Butler; two sisters, Corrine Johnson and Emma Hilliard; and one brother, Warren C. Worrell.

Frank W. Reynolds
1938-2005
HUNTINGDON - Services for Frank W. Reynolds, 66, were conducted Thursday, May 19, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Phillip Halter and Brother Bryan Oakes officiating. Interment icon followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Reynolds died Tuesday, May 17, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
He was born July 29, 1938, in Carroll County to the late Floyd Dennis and Thelma Shelia Dill. He was a retired employee of Southwestern Stockyards and a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Baker Reynolds.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Brenda May Reynolds; a son, Dennis Franklin Reynolds of Huntingdon; a daughter, Shelia Dill, of Huntingdon; three sisters: Wanda Edwards and Floy Nell Staggs, both of Huntingdon, and Agnes Rogers of Harriman; and two grandchildren.

Billie Joe Tart
1934-2005
McKENZIE - Graveside services for Billie Joe Tart, 70, were Saturday, May 21, at Palestine cemetery I in Lexington. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Tart, who was disabled, died Thursday, May 19, at Oak Manor Health Care Center in McKenzie.
He was born August 27, 1934, in Lexington, to the late Mary Mooney Tart and Walter Tart.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Waddle Tart; and two sisters, Kitty Britt of Lexington and Linda Springer of Henderson.

Leon Ross Lewis
1922-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Leon Ross Lewis, 82, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, at McEvoy Funeral Home in Paris with Bro. Paul Merwin officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mr. Lewis, a retired U.S. Postal Service employee, McKenzie Branch, died Sunday, May 22, at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
He was born October 8, 1922, in Carroll County, to the late Homer Leon Lewis and Mattie Ross Lewis. He was a World War II Army veteran and attended McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara "Peggy" Bowden Lewis; two daughters, Sara Elizabeth Lane of Watauga and Linda L. Bogle of McKenzie; a son, Steve Lewis of McKenzie; a sister, Grace Wonderly of Springville; two brothers, Mitchell Lewis of Henry and Dwayne Lewis of Huntsville, Alabama; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Lewis.

Milford Douglas Flood
1940-2005
PARIS - Services for Milford Douglas Flood, 64, were at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with the Rev. Perry McCall officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest cemetery.
Mr. Flood, a retired supervisor at Emerson Electric for 39 years, died Saturday, May 21, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
He was born July 16, 1940, in Paris, to the late Rudy Lonzo Flood and Carnell McClain Flood. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Whitlock church. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Paris and also served as vice-president for the local International Association of Machinists (IAM) and was an honorary lifetime member.
He married Margaret Farris Flood on July 12, 1973, who survives.
Survivors include two daughters, Vikki Wofford and Marsha Aldridge, both of Paris; three sons, Gary Flood of Paris, Kevin Flood of Henry, and Lee Smith of Dyersburg; one sister, Diane Barnes of Springville; one brother, Glen Gale Flood of Lakeland, Florida; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ailene Gaskins Pate
1920-2005
HUNTINGDON - Services for Ailene Gaskins Pate, 85, were conducted Tuesday, May 24, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Brother James Humphreys officiating. Interment icon followed in the Liberty All cemetery.
Mrs. Pate died Sunday, May 22, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
She was born February 9, 1920, in Carroll County, to the late Curtis Gaskins and Nora Cooper Gaskins. She was a homemaker and a member of the Liberty All United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Douglas Pate; three sisters: Annie B. Gaskins, Manella M. Gaskins and Lorine M. Shell; and six brothers: J.B. Gaskins, James Gaskins, Paul Gaskins, James B. Gaskins, Hazel M. Gaskins, and Joe Gaskins.
Survivors include her husband, Jessie W. Pate, whom she married December 24, 1938; five children: Charles Thomas Pate of Powder Springs, Georgia; Marjorie Frances Hesselgrave of Marietta, Georgia, Joyce Ann McCoy of Buchanan, Kenneth R. Pate of Huntingdon, and Linda Smith of Jackson; one sister, Marie Barker of Paris; one brother, Bobby Gaskins of Jackson; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
