Larry G. Stone

McKENZIE - Memorial services for Larry G. Stone, 47, will be held on Saturday, July 24 at 6:00 p.m. at the Faith in Christ Church with Brother Wayne Burton officiating.
Mr. Stone died Thursday, July 15 at his home.
He was born April 28, 1957 in Paris to the late Felix L. and Macy Carol Denkins Stone.
Survivors include a son, Shannon Trevathan of Clarksburg; a daughter, Amanda Stone of Mississippi; a brother, Gary Stone of Huntingdon and six grandchildren.

Larry Gene Bullock
1949-2004
TRENTON: Services for Larry Gene Bullock, 55, formerly of Dresden, were at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17 at Gallimore Funeral Home in Gleason with the Reverend Trent Bullock officiating. Burial was in Hopewell cemetery.
Mr. Bullock, a disabled railroad engineer, died Thursday, July 15 at Gibson County General Hospital.
He was born February 24, 1949 in Paris. He was a member of Gleason First Baptist Church, VFW and the Elks.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Evans Bullock; a stepson, Brian Qualls of Newbern; a stepdaughter, Brittney Qualls of Newbern; his stepfather and mother, Clarence and Blanche Snider Bullock of Dresden; a brother, Rev. Don Bullock of Gleason.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thurmon Bullock.

Patricia Sayles Chamberlain
1930-2004
GLEASON - Services for Patricia Sayles Chamberlain, 73, were at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 20 at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hopewell cemetery.
Mrs. Chamberlain, a homemaker, died Sunday, July 18 at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
She was born August 5, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas Sayles of Springville and Dewayne Sayles of Dresden; four daughters, Barbara Hall of Henry, Mary Newell of Poteau, Oklahoma, Gail Sayles of Chicago, Illinois and Cathy Sayles of McKenzie; a sister, Jo Ann Salathiel of Del City, Oklahoma and 16 grandchildren.

Eric Lynn Oliver
1950-2004
BOLIVAR: Services for Eric Lynn Oliver, 54, formerly of Gleason, were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 13 at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with Father Carl Hood officiating. Burial was in New Hope cemetery.
Mr. Oliver, a social worker at Western State Mental Health Institute, died Sunday, July 11 at Bolivar General Hospital.
He was born June 14, 1950 in Martin. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church in Bolivar.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Stone Oliver; a son, Geoffrey Lynn Oliver of Martin; his mother, Norma June Stallcup Oliver of Gleason; a sister, Roxanne Crider of Gleason; and a brother Brian Oliver of Dresden.
He was preceded in death by his father Duward Oliver and a brother, Brad Oliver.

Douglas F. Brigdale
1916-2004
McKENZIE - Douglas Francis Brigdale, 88, a resident of the Obion County Nursing Home in Union City, died July 20. A graveside service is planned for Thursday, July 22, in Henry.
Brigdale was a retired commercial artist who was born March 19, 1916, in London, England. He was a World War II veteran. He moved to Tennessee in 1982 along with his wife, Eileen Brigdale, who preceded him in death in 1992.
Brigdale is survived by his daughter, Antoinette (Bowden) McGee of McKenzie; three grandchildren, Lisa Doster and Stephen Bowden, both of McKenzie, and Kevin Bowden of Union City; four great-grandchildren, Tony and Chelsea Mattox, and Brandon and Olivia Bowden, all of McKenzie.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time. Brummitt Funeral Home of McKenzie is in charge of the arrangements.

Oscar Barnes
1922-2004
McKENZIE - Mr. Oscar Barnes, 82, died Monday, July 19 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. The body was cremated.
Mr. Barnes was a resident of Lakeside Retirement Community in McKenzie. He was born September 10, 1921 in Carroll County to the late Samuel and Lula Barnes.
Survivors include a brother, Hollis Barnes of McKenzie Health Care Center and two sisters, Kallie Mae Thomas of Desert Hot Springs, California and Novella Fryers of Ocean Springs, California and several nieces and nephews.
George A. Smith Funeral Home in Jackson was in charge of the arrangements.

Joe Hudson
1936-2004
PARIS - Joe Hudson, 68, died on Monday, July 19 at Henry County Medical Center. Services which were incomplete at press time will be conducted by Trinity Funeral Home.

Mary Elizabeth Travillian
1920-2004
GLEASON - Mary Elizabeth Travillian, 84, died on Tuesday, June 29 after a long illness. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 1 at 4:00 p.m. at the Gleason Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial at the Rushing Memorial cemetery.
Mrs. Travillian was a teacher at Caledonia, New Bethel and Liberty 4 schools in Henry County and at Gleason School for over 30 years. She graduated from Bethel College in 1954 and was active in both the Gleason PTA and McKenzie PTA. She chaired the Gleason Public Library Board for many years and worked on behalf of the National Kidney Foundation. She was a member of the Easter Star, the Gleason Woman's Club and a charter member of the McKenzie Morning Glory Garden Club. She was very active in church affairs and served as an elder in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was also active in the church women's organization. She was the 1991 recipient of the Jefferson Award for outstanding community services and the 2003 Weakley County Little Red Schoolhouse Favorite Teacher Award.
She was born April 3, 1920 in Henry County to the late Robert Orlando Owen and Katie Highfill Owen. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Fleming Owen and Robert H. "Bob" Owen.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Travillian; a son, Bobby Travillian of Paris; three daughters, Lynda Lankford of McKenzie and Carolyn Roney and Beverly Spain, both of Gleason; a brother, Oscar Owen of McKenzie; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Lankford Cole, Amy Roney Lawrence, Jonathan Lankford, Jamie Roney, Chris Rhodes, Jon Rhodes, Adrienne Spain, Katie Spain and Aaron Travillian and one great-grandchild, Brooke Cole.
Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Lester A. Wilson, Jr.
1942-2004
PARIS - Services for Lester A. Wilson, Jr., 61, were at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 1 at McEvoy Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roger Banks and Dr. Gary S. Collier officiating. Interment icon followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park cemetery.
Mr. Wilson, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, died Tuesday, June 29 at the Henry County Medical Center emergency room. He had been employed by McEvoy Funeral Home since 1964 and served as both manager and director. He served as the manager of Hillcrest Memorial Park cemetery since 1978 and was serving as the coroner for Henry County. He was a member of the Church of Christ, a Mason and a member of the Paris Elks Lodge.
He was born December 7, 1942 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Lester A. Wilson, R. and Verdaine Cope Wilson, who survives. One sister, Myra Jo Valentine preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Rosalee Roberts Wilson, one daughter, Melinda Wilson of Paris; two sons, Bill Wilson of Trezevant and Christopher Wilson of Big Sandy; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Paul Barnett
1926-2004
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Paul Barnett, 77, passed away on Sunday, July 4 at his home. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m. at the Huntingdon First United Methodist Church with Dr. Mickey Carpenter and Dr. Paul Mullikin officiating. Interment icon followed in the New Liberty cemetery.
Mr. Barnett was born July 10, 1926 in Cedar Grove to the late Sterling Price Barnett and Mattie Iris Wall Barnett. He was a grocery store owner, a World War II army veteran, a halfback for the Huntingdon Mustangs, a two-time Golden Glove boxing champion and a member of the Huntingdon First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Hayes Barnett.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Barnett and Phillip Barnett, both of Huntingdon and Johnny Barnett of Atlanta, Georgia; one sister, Kay Provendo of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Waldon Barnett of Huntingdon and five grandchildren.

Wesley Phillip Flatt
1952-2004
MILAN - Graveside services for Wesley Phillip Flatt, 51, were held Sunday, July 4 at Gibson County Memory Gardens in Gibson. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Flatt, a roofer, died at his residence on Friday, July 2.
He was born November 19, 1952 in Sweet Lips to the late Clarence Allen Flatt and Cora Flatt of Milan, who survives.
Survivors include four sons, Shaw Flatt of Huntingdon, and Mathew Flatt, Jason Flatt and Johnathan Flatt, all of Milan; one sister, Paula Pittson of Trenton; and five brothers, Joe Flatt of Paris, Gerald Flatt and Tim Flatt of Milan, Terry Flatt of McKenzie and Patrick Flatt of Trenton.

Naomi Williamson Blanks
1917-2004
TREZEVANT - Services for Naomi Williamson Blanks, 87, were on Tuesday, July 6 at the Trezevant First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steven Cabot officiating. Interment icon followed in the Trezevant cemetery.
Mrs. Blanks, a retired schoolteacher, died on Friday, July 2 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born June 22, 1917 in Trezevant to the late Clara Smith Williams and Hubbard T. Williamson. Her husband Jeff J. Blanks, Jr. and one son, George Blanks preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Blanks of Henning; a daughter, Barbara Blanks of Winston Salem, North Carolina; one brother, Garrett Williamson of Pocatello, Idaho; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
