McKENZIE - Services for Jimmie Lou James, 77, formerly of Memphis, were at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12 at Germantown Parkway Chapel with the Rev. Don Capteron officiating. Burial was in the Memory Hills Gardens.
Mrs. James, a retired pastry chef for Shelby County Schools, died on Thursday, April 10 at the McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born on August 22, 1925 in Benton County, Mississippi to the late James Thomas and Myrtle Graves. She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie and McKenzie Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her husband, R.A. James, three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Gordon Potts of Little Rock, Arkansas, Deloris and Bill Fuller of Memphis and Cheriadeth and Bob Rutledge of McKenzie; two sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton and Joanne James of Brandon, Mississippi and Larry and Diane James of Memphis; eight grandchildren, Don Tyner, Scott Fuller and Justin James of Memphis, Ryan Fuller of Hendersonville, Andy James of Decatur, Georgia, Trent Rutledge of McKenzie, Carol Koon of Mabelvale, Arkansas and Kim Fuller of Arlington; and seven great-grandchildren, Alex Tyner, Alex Fuller, Cassie Tyner, Jenna Fuller and Jessica Fuller, all of Memphis and Gary Koon and Josh Koon, both of Mabelville, Arkansas.
Memorials may be sent to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie.

McKENZIE - Services for Jacqueline Brenda Stanley, 56, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 19 at Concord cemetery.
Mrs. Stanley died on Sunday, April 13 at the Medical Center in Memphis.
She was born February 3, 1947 in Hackleburg, Alabama. She was a member of the Concord Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Stanley; a son, Gary Stanley, Jr. of McKenzie; her mother, Girtha Burleson of River Grove, Illinois; a brother, Jerry Armstrong of River Grove, Illinois; and a sister, Linda Armstrong of McKenzie. Her father, John Armstrong preceded her in death.
Hattie Mae Roberts

BRUCETON - Mrs. Hattie Mae Roberts, 97, died on Saturday, April 12 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Bass officiating. Interment
followed in the New Hope cemetery in Vale.
Mrs. Roberts was born January 9, 1906 in Ennice, North Carolina to the late Robert M. and Lucy Todd Tompkins. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dan Roberts, who died October 16, 1989, one son, Boyd Ken Roberts, who died in 1977 and three grandsons.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Kisala of Huntingdon and Virgie Crouse of Camden; one son, Wayne Roberts of Hollow Rock; one sister, Violet Roark of King, North Carolina and one brother, Paul Tompkins of Sparta, North Carolina; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Paula Bowen Kee

HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Paula Bowen Kee, 79, died on Friday, April 11 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 14 at the Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Ed Fisher officiating. Interment
followed in the Oak Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Kee was born on July 12, 1923 in Northam, West Australia to the late Lynum and Matilda Mary Leeson Bowen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Clinton Kee. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and a retired employee of Henry I. Siegel.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Pierce of Huntingdon; one sister, Marion Case of Western Australia; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Carl Lee Scates

BRUCETON - Carl Lee Scates, 71, died Saturday, November 5, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, November 7, at the Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Lynn Stapelton officiating. Interment
followed in the Prospect cemetery.
Mr. Scates was born March 16, 1934, in Henderson County, to the late Ernest Ray and Lila Sue (Halbrook) Scates. He was a retired U.S. Post Office mailman and a member and deacon of Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul E. Scates.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Frances (Spellings) Scates; one daughter, Regina (Eric) Sills of Jackson; two sons, Kenny (Lee Ann) Scates of Bruceton and Dennis (Laura) Scates of Kennesaw, Georgia; one brother, Ray W. Scates of Bruceton; and seven grandchildren.
Roy Lee Rash

McKENZIE - Roy Lee Rash, 57, died Saturday, November 5, at his residence. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rash was born May 4, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Roy Alex and Gladys Virginia Rash. He was a disabled Vietnam veteran and a member of the VFW.
He is survived by four brothers, Edward Wayne Rash of Aberdine, Maryland and Howard Rash, David Rash and Stephen Gerard Rash, all of McKenzie; four sisters, Mary Jane Russell of Dover; Judith Ann Fortune of West Des Moines, Iowa; Miriam Elizabeth Turner of Clarksville; and Joanne Maria Davis of Cunningham, Tenn.

Mr. Pate was born May 17, 1913 in Lonoke County, Arkansas, to the late Charles Thomas Pate and Ora (Melver) Pate. He was a retired carpenter and a farmer and attended the Liberty All Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ailene (Gaskins) Pate, one sister, Barbara Pate and one brother, James Pate.
He is survived by five children: Charles Thomas (Jane) Pate of Powder Springs, Georgia; Marjorie Frances Hesselgrave of Marietta, Georgia; Joyce Ann (David) McCoy of Buchanan; Kenneth (Paula) R. Pate of Huntingdon; and Linda Smith of Jackson; one sister, Mary (Pate) Tippett of Huntingdon; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Mrs. Pearson was born January 10, 1920, in Atwood, to the late Bob and Pearl Bell. She was a retired nurse's aide.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Pearson.
She is survived by one sister, Jessie (J. W.) Bryant of Atwood; special great niece and caregiver Teresa Bobbitt, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cozart was born June 9, 1927, in Gleason, to the late John and Vala Mae Gallimore Blankenship. She was a retired sales and business clerk and a member of McKenzie Church of Christ.
She is survived by one daughter, Cindy (Larry) Ownby of McKenzie, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Cozart; a son, Larry Cozart; an infant son in 1944; and a great-granddaughter, Rachel Ownby.
Minerva Tobitha Lewelling

Mrs. Lewelling died Monday, March 14, at McKenzie Health Center.
She was born May 17, 1906, in Clarksburg to the late Ben N. Johnson and Susie Mills Johnson. She was a member of the Caledonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Vernon Lewelling of Memphis; two daughters, Eris Connell of Memphis and Edna McAlexander of Puryear; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Lewelling, and a daughter, Jo Ann York.

Lewis Marshall Boane

Mr. Boane, a retired farmer, died Tuesday, March 8, at McKenzie Health Care Center.
He was born July 28, 1928, in Gleason to the late Jodie and Alice Leaver Boane. He was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Boane; a son, W.L. Boane of Gleason; two daughters, Linda Mayberry of McKenzie and Lois Jones of Greenfield; and a half-brother, Houston Boane of Gleason.
He was preceded in death by a brother, G.W. Boane.
