McKENZIE - Betty Mae Erb, 75, died Wednesday, December 14, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Memorial services were unscheduled at the time of announcement. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge.
Mrs. Erb was born March 7, 1930, in St. Helens, Oregon, to Charles Kenneth and Mary Jane Eidson Peters, both deceased. She was a writer and nurse.
She was preceded in death by one son, Steve Erb.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne Erb of New Smyrna, Florida, and Jeff Erb of Port Orange, Florida; one daughter, Peggy Davis of McKenzie; one brother, Dennis Peters of Gig Harbor, Washington; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Verla Mae Faust
1914-2005
McKENZIE - Verla Mae Faust, 91, died Wednesday, December 14, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Services were held Friday, December 16, at First Baptist Church in McKenzie with the Revs. Dennis Trull and Vance Rushing officiating. Burial was in Salem Methodist cemetery in Etta, Mississippi. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Faust was born March 10, 1914, in New Albany, Mississippi, to William Blackard and Lavada Williams Blackard, both deceased. She was a member of First Baptist Church in McKenzie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Moody Q. Faust, and a son La Durl Faust.
She is survived by six daughters: Lene Watson of Southaven, Mississippi; Brenda Sinquefield of Hernando, Mississippi; Rachel Derosett of Manchester; Judy Smith of Gallatin; Jerrie Akin of McKenzie; and Barbara Wood of McKenzie; three brothers: Roy Blackard and William Blackard, both of Memphis, and Malcolm Blackard of Trinity, Alabama; one sister, Hattie Sue Browning of New Albany, Mississippi; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

Anderson "Andy" Talbot Horner
1941-2005
HUMBOLDT: Funeral services for Anderson "Andy" Talbot Horner, 64, were held Friday, December 16, at First Baptist Church in Humboldt. Burial followed in Rose Hill cemetery. Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Horner was born March 24, 1941, in Rutherford, to William Aubrey Horner and Marjorie Tate Horner, both deceased. He graduated from Rutherford High School and attended Union University and Memphis State University. He was in the trucking business for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dot Horner; a daughter, Michelle Sanders of Memphis; three sons, Allen Horner of Pensacola, Florida; Tony Horner of Medina and Chris Horner of Jackson; two brothers, Bill Horner of Dresden and Ken Horner of McKenzie; and seven grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be sent to: "I love this church" Fund, FBC Humboldt, 3400 Mitchell St., Humboldt, TN 38343.

Donna Galloway
1946-2005
HENRY - Donna Leannette Galloway, 59, died Monday, December 12, at her residence after an illness. Funeral services were Thursday, December 15, at McEvoy Funeral Home in Paris with Gary S. Collier officiating. Burial followed at Bevil cemetery.
Ms. Galloway was born November 8, 1946, in Memphis, to Hubert L. and Loraine Dennis Henry, both deceased. She is the stepdaughter of Betty Henry of Orlando, Florida. She formerly operated a safe house for abused and battered women, had been employed by Holly carburetor plant, formerly of Paris, and was the Southern Hills Dog Kennel operator. She was a member of the Native American Intertribal Council in Clarksville through the Lakota-Sioux bloodlines and was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild.
She is survived by one daughter, Renee Chandler of Henry; one son, Joseph Mike (Kim) McNutt of Henry; one sister, Charlotte Porter of Orlando, Florida; one brother, Richard Henry of Paris; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Leon Barr
1938-2005
EVA, ALABAMA: Leon Barr, 86, died Monday, December 12, at the home of his son Robert, following a short illness. Graveside services were held December 17 at Pleasant Hill cemetery in Carroll County. Dilday Funeral Home of Huntingdon was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Barr was born April 10, 1919, in Henderson County, to Sidney Lee Barr and Bessie Sadie Huey Barr, both deceased. He was a longtime employee of the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company of Dyersburg. He and his wife raised five children and countless foster children. He was a former resident of Dyersburg, Huntingdon, McKenzie, and Memphis. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and his interests included gardening, dancing, fishing, hunting, and his children. He loved old western movies, especially those of Rudolph Scott, and fighting Bob Steele, who he was taken with as a youth and was given, in early youth, the same fighting nickname. Late in life he experienced a genuine interest in country and square dancing and was lovingly known as Dancing Leon.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Winona Virginia Brigance Barr, whom he wed on July 14, 1938, and his daughter, Grace Elaine Barr Woody.
He is survived by three sons: Thomas Leon Barr of Fredricksburg, Virginia, Carl Eldon Barr of Newbern, and Robert Sidney Barr of Eva, Alabama; one daughter, Enid Marijean Barr Collie of Moscow, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Donna Kay Mann
1944-2005
BROWNSVILLE: Donna Kay Mann, 61, died Thursday, December 12, at her home.
Graveside services were held at Springhill United Methodist Church cemetery in Brownsville.
Mrs. Mann was born July 18, 1944 to Otis and Hazel Murphy, both deceased, formerly of Cedar Grove.
She is survived by her husband, James Mann; four sons: Roger Killen of Michigan, Mark Killen and Greg Killen, both of Brownsville, and Eddie Mann of Murfreesboro; one daughter, Michele Hickson of Texas; one brother, Bennie Murphy, and one sister, Dean Dill, both of Cedar Grove; and seven grandchildren.

Joe Craig Stafford
1967-2005
GLEASON - Joe Craig Stafford, 38, died Tuesday, December 12, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, of smoke inhalation following a fire at home. Services were held Friday, December 16, at Gleason First Baptist Church with the Revs. Keith Sumner and Mike Jeffers officiating. Burial followed in Hopewell cemetery. Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stafford was born March 1, 1967, in Martin, to the late Joe Macon Stafford and Shirley Sue Cunningham Stafford of Gleason. He was a mechanic at Gene Langley Ford in Humboldt.
His death coincided that of his wife, Denise Elizabeth Stafford; one daughter, Jeri Lynn Stafford; and one son, Samuel Colt Stafford.
He is survived by one son, Matt Stafford, and one brother, Mark Stafford, both of Gleason.

Denise Elizabeth Stafford
1963-2005
GLEASON - Denise Elizabeth Stafford, 42, died Tuesday, December 12, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, of smoke inhalation following a fire at home. Services were held Friday, December 16, at Gleason First Baptist Church with the Revs. Keith Sumner and Mike Jeffers officiating. Burial followed in Hopewell cemetery. Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stafford was born June 19, 1963, in Steele, Missouri, to Bill and Joan Lyon Bolin, both deceased. She was a housewife and a disabled veteran of the Gulf War.
Her death coincided that of her husband, Joe Craig Stafford; one daughter, Jeri Lynn Stafford; and one son, Samuel Colt Stafford.
She is survived by one son, Matt Stafford; foster parents, Sam and Daisy Whitener of Farmington, Missouri; eight brothers: Bill Heinen of Kennett Missouri, Charley Bolin of Gleason, John Heinen of Steele, Missouri, James Bolin of Springfield, Missouri, Ronnie Bolin of Greeneville, South Carolina, David Bolin of Gleason, Dan Bolin of Merced, California, and Eric Heinen of Steele, Missouri; three sisters: Alma Lorck of Farmington, Missouri, Margaret Hawkains of Paducah, Kentucky, and Phyllis Bolin of Cape Giradeau, Missouri.

Jeri Lynn Stafford
1988-2005
GLEASON - Jeri Lynn Stafford, 17, died Tuesday, December 12, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, of smoke inhalation following a fire at home. Services were held Friday, December 16, at Gleason First Baptist Church with the Revs. Keith Sumner and Mike Jeffers officiating. Burial followed in Hopewell cemetery. Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Jeri Lynn was born November 6, 1988, in Martin, to Joe Craig and Denise Elizabeth Stafford, whose death coincided with her own. She was a sophomore at Gleason School.
One brother, Samuel Colt Stafford, also died as a consequence of the fire.
Jeri is survived by her grandmother, Shirley Stafford of Gleason; foster grandparents Sam and Daisy Whitener of Farmington, Missouri; and one brother, Matt Stafford of Gleason.

Samuel Colt Stafford
1996-2005
GLEASON - Samuel Colt Stafford, 9, died Tuesday, December 12, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, of smoke inhalation following a fire at home. Services were held Friday, December 16, at Gleason First Baptist Church with the Revs. Keith Sumner and Mike Jeffers officiating. Burial followed in Hopewell cemetery. Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Samuel was born March 16, 1996, to Joe Craig and Denise Elizabeth Bolin Stafford, whose death coincided with his own. He was a third grade student at Gleason School.
One sister, Jeri Lynn Stafford, also died as a consequence of the fire.
He is survived by his grandmother, Shirley Stafford of Gleason; foster grandparents, Sam and Daisy Whitener of Farmington, Missouri; and one brother, Matt Stafford of Gleason.

JoEllen Kee
1961-2005
BUENA VISTA - JoEllen Kee, 43, died Saturday, December 10, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Services were held Saturday, December 17, at Greater Enon Baptist Church in McKenzie with the Rev. James Stewart officiating. Burial followed in Humble cemetery near Huntingdon. Mercer Brothers Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.
Ms. Kee was born December 13, 1961, in Paris. She was a graduate of McKenzie High School.
She is survived by her mother, Ester Johnson of McKenzie; a daughter, Javanna Wilkes of Jackson; a son, Dereck Hurt of McKenzie; two grandchildren; four sisters: Larleen Thomas and Gail Diggs, both of McKenzie, Sandra Jordan of Huntingdon, and Judy Iturmendi of Miami, Florida; and five brothers: Lonnie Johnson, Bobby Johnson and Danny Johnson, all of McKenzie, and Gene Johnson and Roy Curtis, both of Texas.

Richard Charles Amsden
BRUCETON/HOLLOW ROCK - Richard Charles Amsden, 64, died Sunday, December 11, at Baptist Memorial Healthcare-Memphis. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, December 14, at Christ Church of Brownsville with burial following in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Brownsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his mother, Janet Townsend Pinner of Memphis; his wife, Doris Curran Amsden of Bruceton; one son, Terry McPhail of Somerville, Georgia; two daughters, Patricia Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas, and Annette Tatum of Cabot, Arkansas; five step-daughters: Christy Lewis and Martha Bridgewater, both of Camden; Carrie Zar and Tammy Phipps, both of Bruceton, and Christina Milton of Brownsville; two brothers, Robert Darrell Amdsen Jr. and George Edward Amsden, both of Memphis; one half-sister; one half-brother; nine step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Harry Watson
1937-2005
PARIS - James Harry Watson, 68, died Saturday, December 10, at his residence.
Graveside services were held Thursday, December 15, at Cedar Grove cemetery in Athens with Charlie Rinehart officiating. Ridgeway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born July 5, 1937, in Athens, to James Vic Watson and Martha Marie Miller Watson, both deceased. He was a former assistant plant manager at Mark I Plastics, formerly of Henry. He was a Baptist and a member of the Tennessee Valley Bass Club. He was a former president and member of the Jaycees in Sweetwater.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Garrison Watson, with whom he was married May 24, 1958; two sons, Scott (Brenda) Watson of Paris and Todd (Terri) Watson of Henry; one brother, Forrest Watson of Bridgeton, Missouri; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Watson.
