Marion L. Harris
1916-2003
McKENZIE - Services for Marion L. Harris, 87, will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 13 at Johnson Temple CME Church. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet cemetery. Brummitt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Harris, widow of Claude Harris, died Saturday, November 8 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born January 31, 1916 in McKenzie to the late Minnie Haynes Jones and Robert L. Jones. She was a member of Johnson Temple CME Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorris (Thomas) Woodard of McKenzie; three grandchildren, Sarita Oglesby (Tommy) of Palm Springs, California, Deborah Williams (Ricky) of Indio, California; and Tory Woodard of Nashville; and two great-grandchildren, Aaften Oglesby and Austin Oglesby.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 12 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home.

Olander Humphreys
1969-2003
McKENZIE - Services for the Rev. Olando Dewayne Humphreys, 33, were at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at the Obion River District headquarters building in McKenzie. The Rev. James H. Stewart, pastor of Greater Enon Baptist Church, where Humphreys was a member, officiated.
Burial was in Union Grove Church cemetery in Puryear.
Humphreys died Sunday, March 23 at Henry County Medical Center from complications of a ruptured appendix.
Humphreys was employed by Republic Builders in McKenzie for more than seven years.
Born September 11, 1969 in Huntingdon, he was a son of Stella Bobbitt Hughes of Wilmar, Arkansas and the late O.D. Humphreys.
His wife, Joyce Humphreys, survives. They were married on January 8, 1999. He also leaves two daughters, Peoni Humphreys and Anaceah Warren, both of McKenzie; one son, Russ Warren of McKenzie; five brothers, Antione Humphreys of McKenzie, the Rev. Kenneth Humphreys and Derron Humphreys, both of Paris, Gene and Dale Humphreys, both of Atlanta; three sisters, Deborah Foster and Tonya Humphreys, both of McKenzie and Brenda Duhart of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Mary Ann Long
1962-2003
PARIS - Mary Ann Long, 40, died Tuesday morning, March 25 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after suffering a stroke.
Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30 at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Paris. The Rev. M.A. Richardson, pastor of Mount Zion Church, officiated. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery.
Born November 7, 1962 in Henry, she was a daughter of Robert L. Haynes and Bobbie Milton, both deceased.
She was married in March 2000 to George Long, who survives.
Mrs. Long was an inspector at PML Inc. in Paris.
She also leaves a daughter; Lenissia Tyann Long of Paris; one son, Thomas Quindale Long of Paris; five sisters, Martha, Beverly and Barbara Milton, all of Paris, Joyce Nance of Huntingdon and Jane Greenwell of Kentucky; four brothers, Ricky Haynes of Henry, Michael and James Haynes, both of Huntingdon, and James Haynes of Jackson; and one grandchild, Cameron Long.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Mary K. Milton; and a brother, Robert L. Haynes.

Jerry Don Crews
1950-2003
MEMPHIS - Jerry Don Crews, 53, died Sunday, March 23 at the Regional Forensic Center in Memphis. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, March 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. Interment icon followed at Barren Springs cemetery. Brother Tony Boyd officiated the services.
Mr. Crews was born November 28, 1949 in Gibson County to the late T.L. and Annie Mae Price Crews. He was a truck driver for C F Trucking.
He is survived by four daughters, Rachelle Taylor of Southhaven, Mississippi, Misty Whitehorn of Eads, TN, Jennifer Crews and Courtney Crews, both of Germantown, two brothers, Radall Crews of Memphis and Dennis Crews of Barlett, and two grandchildren.

Ruth Lois Lamar
1914-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Ruth Lois Lamar, 89, died Tuesday, March 25 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 29 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of John J. Gluvna Funeral Home in Lorain, Ohio. Interment icon followed at Resthaven Memory Gardens cemetery.
Mrs. Lamar was born January 23, 1914 in Hornlake, Mississippi, to the late Luther and Hester Liming Roland. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ellis Lamar, who passed away November 5, 1995.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Lamar of Morganton, North Carolina and one son, Bill Lamar of Huntingdon; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Bobby Rainey
1936-2003
DRESDEN - Services for Bobby Rainey, 67, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 2 at McEvoy Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with Bro. Tommie Dicus officiating. Burial will be in Palestine cemetery.
Mr. Rainey died Sunday afternoon, March 30 at his daughter's residence in Dresden.
He was born March 11, 1936 in Lake County to the late John Bruce Rainey and Myrtle Cordelia Johnson Rainey. He was a member of Victory Fellowship Church and a member of the VFW Post 1880. He was retired from Midland Brake and also from the National Guard as a sergeant, serving from 1955 to 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Keaby Brasweld of Dresden; two sons, Jeff Rainey of McKenzie and Scottie Rainey of Henry; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
His wife, Mary Fletcher Inez Scott Rainey and two brothers preceded him in death.

Ruth Bond Bennett
1917-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Ruth Bond Bennett, 85, died Tuesday, March 25 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. Interment icon followed at Hebron cemetery. Brother Scott Carter officiated the services.
Mrs. Bennett was born September 6, 1917 in Carroll County to the late Virgil F. and Birtha Hicks Bond.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Sichta of Lady Lake, Florida; Sandra Pytlik of Stickney, Illinois, and Joyce Carter of Huntingdon; three sisters, Ovie Bonkowski, Jewell Thomas, both of Huntingdon, and William Roberts of Nashville; four brothers, Travis Bond of Huntingdon, Charles Bond and Paul Bond, both of Bruceton, and V.F. Bond, Jr. of Michigan; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Brenda Joyce Russell
1946-2003
GLEASON - Services for Brenda Joyce Russell, 56, will be on Wednesday, April 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gallimore Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Price officiating. Burial will be in the Tumbling Creek cemetery.
She was born on October 9, 1946 in Martin. She was a member of the Tumbling Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Leon Russell; her mother, Wanda Staggs of Gleason; two daughters, Wendy Melton of Gleason and Chrystal Duren of Dresden; two sisters, Regina Horton of Gleason and Sheila Lilly of Dresden; a brother of Gleason and four grandchildren.
Her father, Homer Doster and a sister, Linda Doster preceded her in death.

Vaynelle Arnold
1928-2003
McKENZIE - Services for Vaynelle Arnold, 75, were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 8 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Ricketts officiating. Burial was in the Seminary cemetery. Mrs. Arnold, a retired factory worker, died Monday, May 5 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. She was the widow of Andrew Arnold. She was born March 25, 1928 in Weakley County to the late Lottie Hubble and E.P. "Pete" Hubble. Survivors include a son, Danny Williams of Odenton, Maryland; a daughter, Carolyn Crocker of Gleason; a brother, L.C. Hubble of McKenzie; a sister, Inez Reeves of McKenzie; four grandchildren, Paula Doede, Ricky Crocker, Renae Creveling and Joann Williams; and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leslie Hubble and Desel Hubble and a grandson, Micheal Crocker.

Sara Ann Campbell
1940-2003
GREENFIELD - Services for Sara Ann Campbell, 62, were at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 8 at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield with burial in Brock's cemetery. Ms. Campbell died on Monday, May 5 at Brakeville Nursing Home in Knoxville. Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Lannom of Greenfield and Pam Porter of Knoxville; two brothers, Joe Campbell of Knoxville and Roy Campbell of Dyersburg and four grandchildren.

Willodean Virginia Taylor
1930-2003
TREZEVANT - Services for Willodean Virginia Taylor, 72, were Sunday, May 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trezevant First Baptist Church with Bro. Malcolm Norton officiating. Burial was in the Trezevant cemetery.
Miss Taylor, retired teacher at Humboldt High School, died on Friday, May 2 at McKenzie Regional Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born September 4, 1930 in Carroll County to the late Myrtle Murray Taylor and Alfred F. Taylor. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trezevant and Kappa Gamma Delta.
Survivors include a nephew, Matthew Alfred Taylor of Trezevant and several cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Amos Alfred Taylor and a sister, Juanita Taylor.

Hulon Thompson Black
1913-2003
McKENZIE - Services for Hulon Thompson Black, 89, were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 6 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Rev. Harrell Nation officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Black, a farmer, died on Sunday, May 4 in Sardis, Mississippi.
He was born September 24, 1913 in McKenzie to the late Grace Edith Thompson Black and Bishop Marvin Black. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a World War II army veteran.
Survivors include a son, Larry Black of Senatobia, Mississippi; a daughter, Janie Chandler of Brownsville; four grandchildren, Robyn Black Caldwell, Eddie Chandler, Jennifer Black Davis and Christie Bradshaw; two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
