Billy Joe Autry
1948-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Billy Joe Autry, 54, died on Monday, April 28 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, April 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel. Interment icon followed at Davis Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Autry was born on September 26, 1948 to the late Clyde and Hazel Carey Autry in Carroll County. He was a self-employed roofer.
Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Autry of Parkers Crossroads; four sisters, Faye Ellis of Huntingdon; Sue Frazee and Patricia Taylor, both of Camden and Shirley Altom of Parkers Crossroads; one brother, Bobby Autry of Camden and one grandson.

Feron Bledsoe, Jr.
1934-2003
McKENZIE - Services for Mr. Feron Bledsoe, Jr., 68, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 3 at the Greater Enon Baptist Church with the Rev. James H. Stewart officiating. Burial was in the Humbles cemetery in Huntingdon.
Mr. Bledsoe died on Wednesday, April 30 at his residence. He was born on December 6, 1934 in Huntingdon to the late Feron Bledsoe, Sr. and Alma Caldwell Bledsoe. He was a member of the Greater Enon Baptist Church where he served as a former Sunday School Superintendent and on the Usher's Board.
Survivors include his wife, Marva Bell Bledsoe; two daughters, Angela Bledsoe of Washington DC and Kimberly Bell Stewart of McKenzie; three sons, Anthony Bledsoe of Clifton, Maryland, Rodney Adkisson and Randall Adkisson, both of McKenzie; three sisters, Juanita Irby of Chicago, Illinois, Inez Vicks of Evansville, Indiana and Era Smith of Jacksonville, Florida and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Bonnie E. Crutchfield
1933-2003
DECATUR: Bonnie E. Crutchfield, 70, died on Thursday, May 1 in her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services were at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 3 at J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Additional services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 5 at Chase Funeral Home in Huntingdon. Burial was in Carroll Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church in Decatur.
Bonnie was born in a log cabin in Carroll County near Huntingdon on January 4, 1933, the daughter of Muncie Lee and Maggie Loraine Mann Bell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church. One of Bonnie's greatest achievements was that both of her sons have answered a call to the ministry. On March 27, 1954, Bonnie married Marshall E. Crutchfield in Corinth, Mississippi and he preceded her in death on June 4, 1994.
Surviving are her two sons, Morris Crutchfield of Decatur and Timothy Crutchfield of Hammond, Indiana; three brothers, William Bell of Camden, Muncie Lee Bell, Jr. of Knoxville, Joe Bell of Camden; two sisters, Virginia Roark of Milan and Marilyn Reynolds of Paris; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents and a sister, Maxine also preceded her in death.

Emma Lou Steward
1914-2003
ATWOOD - Services for Emma Lou Steward, 90, were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 1 at St. John I Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Ms. Steward, a homemaker, died on Monday evening, April 28 at the Milan General Hospital.
Survivors include four daughters, Clymontine Bell, Josephine Williams, Patricia Ann Madison and Mary Christine; six sons, Winford Steward, Jr., Michael Steward, Levander Steward and Curtis Steward.
Mercer Brothers Funeral Home in Jackson was in charge of the arrangements.

Andy D. Tucker
1982-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Andy D. Tucker, 20, died on Thursday, May 1 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, May 5 at1:00 p.m. at the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Holmes officiating. Interment icon followed in the Palmer Shelter cemetery.
Mr. Tucker was born on June 22, 1982 in Huntingdon. He was a production worker for Behlen Manufacturing, graduated from Clarksburg High School in 2000 and was attending the Tennessee Technology Center in McKenzie.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Betty and David Sublett; his father and stepmother, Roger and Janie Tucker; maternal grandparents, Hubert and Jean Davidson; paternal grandparents, Edward and Carry Tucker; maternal great-grandfather, Melty Davidson; one brother, Eddie B. Tucker, all of Huntingdon; three stepsisters, Emily Sublett of McKenzie, Candace Taylor of Lexington and Holly Olivio of Huntingdon.

Ryan Scott Cowan
1994-2003
Ryan Scott Cowan, age 8, was killed Sunday, May 4 from injuries sustained in the tornado that hit the Denmark Community near Jackson. Also killed in the tornado was his stepmother, Connie Cowan. Ryan's body was recovered late Monday afternoon.
Ryan was born December 9, 1994 and was the son of Robin Gibson, formerly of McKenzie and Chris and Connie Cowan of Denmark. He was the grandson of Deborah Carroll-Brimm and John Brian of McKenzie and Lowell and Peggy Gibson of Paris.
Funeral services were incomplete at press-time. George Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of the arrangements.

Earline Galloway Scott
1926-2003
TREZEVANT - Services for Earline Galloway Scott, 76, were at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 9 at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant with Bro. Jimmy Yarborough officiating. Burial was in Pilgrim's Rest cemetery in McKenzie. Ms. Scott, retired from HIS in Trezevant, died on Wednesday, May 7, at Douglas Nursing Home in Milan. She was born on December 20, 1926 in Trezevant to the late Maggie G. and Earl Galloway. Survivors include her husband, Charlie V. Scott of Trezevant; a son, Johnny Scott of Trezevant and a daughter, Debbie Hammett of Milan; three grandchildren, Philip Galloway and Angie Williams of Trezevant and Patricia Harris of Milan and 10 great-grandchildren.

Kathleen Summers Peery
1923-2003
GLEASON - Services for Kathleen Summers Peery, 79, were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 6 at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden with the Revs. Terry Griffin, Tom Winchester and Dwayne Thomas officiating. Burial followed in the West Union cemetery. Mrs. Peery, owner and operator of Ore Springs Grocery, factory worker and caregiver to the elderly, died on Sunday, May 4 at her residence. She was born in Weakley County to the late Zobulyn and Iva Watson Summers. He was a factory worker and care giver to the elderly. She was also a member of the West Union Baptist Church in Dresden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred William Peery. Survivors include two daughters, Shara P. Goode of Dresden and Karen P. Jones of Paris; two sisters, Lucretia Gallimore of Dresden and Shirley Vaice of Bear, California; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Remonia L. Allen
1931-2004
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Remonia L. Allen, 73, passed away Thursday, June 3 at her home. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, June 6 at 2:30 p.m. at the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mitchell Rayburn, Bro. David Leslie and Bro. Trey Crews officiating. Interment icon followed in the Concord cemetery.
Mrs. Allen was born January 20, 1931 in Benton County to the late Leonard Murphy and Dellie Cole Hedge. She retired from the bakery of Jim Adams IGA and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Reeves; one son, Keith Reeves; one stepson, Scott Allen; one sister, Oberlan Hartley and one brother, Paul Hedge.
Survivors include her second husband, J.D. Allen, who she married on January 25, 1986; one daughter, Brenda Leslie of Westport; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Christine H. Barker
1927-2004
McLEMORESVILLE - Services for Christine H. Barker, 76, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 8 at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant with Buddy Chandler officiating. Burial followed in McLemoresville cemetery.
Mrs. Barker, a homemaker, died on Saturday, June 5 at her residence in McLemoresville.
She was born July 20, 1927 in Huntingdon to the late Freeman Holland and Ora Pafford Holland. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in McLemoresville.
Survivors include one son, James Barker of Kathleen, Georgia; one daughter, Diane Carroll of McLemoresville; two brothers, Bill Holland of Huntingdon and James Holland of McLemoresville; one sister, Mildred Kelly of McLemoresville; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George 'Hud' Barker.

Velma Lucille Brewer
1925-2004
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Velma Lucille Brewer, 79, died on Tuesday, June 1 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Services were conducted on Thursday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Holmes officiating. Interment icon followed at Palmer Shelter cemetery.
Mrs. Brewer was born March 17, 1925 in Carroll County to the late Curtis W. and Carrie Kelley Wilkes. She was a homemaker and a member of the Palmer Shelter United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Enoch Leon Brewer, who passed away on March 16, 1984, and four brothers and sisters.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Parker of Bruceton, Pam Compton of Memphis, Sharon Bennett and Toni Sawyers, both of Huntingdon; three sons, Tim Brewer of Huntingdon, Terry Brewer and Tracy Brewer, both of Jackson; three brothers, James Wilkes of Soddy Daisy, Jerry Wilkes of Culver City, California and Wendell Wilkes of Herrington, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. www.dilday.com

Dorothy Elkins
1939-2004
PARIS - Retired factory worker Dorothy Louise Adams Elkins, 65, died on Sunday, May 30 at her residence. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 2 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Craig Peevyhouse of Maplewood Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Memorial cemetery.
She was born April 24, 1939 in Nashville to the late Lonzo and Thelma Louise Briley Raymer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Elkins, who died in 1968.
Mrs. Elkins was retired from Henry I. Siegel in Bruceton. She was a member of Jesus Saves Baptist Church near Buchanan.
Survivors include four sons, Earl Ray Elkins and James Melvin Elkins, both of Paris and Terry Lee Elkins and Allen Elkins, both of Union City; two sisters, Barbara Forrest of Springville and Willie Mae Merrell of Paris; two brothers, Bobby Raymer of Paris and William Marion Raymer of Memphis; three half-sisters, Carolyn Raymer of Paris, Mary Treet of McKenzie and Thelma Raymer of Kentucky; one half-brother, Alanzo Raymer of Paris; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Lynn Elkins.

Frances Ollen Krouch
1902-2004
McKENZIE - Services for Frances Ollen Krouch, 101, were at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 6 at Brummitt Funeral Home with the Revs. Harrell Nation and John Pugh officiating. Burial was in Chapel Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Krouch, co-owner of Krouch Grocery and Service Station, died on Friday, June 4 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born August 20, 1902 in McKenzie to the late James H. Bunn and Martha Jane Pate Bunn. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a niece, Oteria Ownby of McKenzie; great nieces and nephews James Ownby, Bill Ownby, Wanda McCaskey, Charles Thompson, Ann Hood, Linda Harris, Richard Walker and Kenneth Walker; great-great nieces and nephews Terry Ownby, Vicky Clark, Barry Thompson, Marcia Thompson, Daria Thompson, Marvin Hood, Patsy Petts, Debbie McManns, Cindy Jones, Will Ownby, Michael McCaskey, Mary McCaskey, Rick Bunn and Dale Bunn and 17 great-great-great nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion Krouch; a son, James Edwin Thompson and a granddaughter, Virginia Thompson.

Maudell 'Martie' Hargrove King
1920-2004
MEMPHIS - Services for Maudell 'Martie' Hargrove King, 83, formerly of Bruceton, were at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 7 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Burial was in Old Hollow Rock cemetery in Bruceton.
Mrs. King, retired cashier for a grocery store, died Saturday, May 29 at her home.
She was born September 30, 1920 in Bruceton to the late James Monroe Hargrove and Geneva Rowland Hargrove.
Survivors include a son, James W. King, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Billy Hargrove of Willinston, South Carolina; and two grandsons.
