Clarence H. Goodrich
1921-2003
COOS BAY, OREGON: A memorial service for Clarence H Goodrich, 81, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18 at Coos Bay Chapel, 685 Anderson Avenue.
He was born November 18, 1921 in Trenton. He died of a heart attack on April 14 in Coos Bay.
In 1942, he married Hattie and they had four children. He served in the United States Army during World War II. In 1949, they moved to Oregon, where he worked in the lumber industry until he retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1982.
He is survived by his wife Hattie, sons and daughters-in-law Virgil and Nadine Goodrich of North Bend and Roger and Cheryl Goodrich of Oregon, daughter and son-in-law Cindy and James McIntyre of Forest Grove; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Paul Warf of Coos Bay, Peggy and Dale Mullins of Corvallis and Ada and Ronnie McCombs of Mississippi; brothers-in-law and wives Lee and Cookie Alford of Springfield and Deail and Janie and Billy and Benny Alford, all of Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
His son, William Clarence Goodrich preceded him in death in 1967. Also preceding him in death were his parents, Rufus and Nannie B. Goodrich; brothers, James and R.C. Goodrich and sisters Maggie Churchwell and Margie Killen.

Joe R. Dunlap
1924-2003
CEDAR GROVE - Services for Joe R. Dunlap, 78, were at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27 at Little Grove Baptist Church in Lavinia with burial in the Little Grove cemetery.
Mr. Dunlap, widower of Ora Lee Dunlap, died on Wednesday, April 23.
He was born on May 18, 1924 to Bishop and Flossie Dunlap. He attended Webb High School in McKenzie and the Little Grove Baptist Church in Lavinia.
Survivors include four sons, Joe R. Dunlap, Jr., of Cedar Grove, James Dunlap, Bobby Dunlap and William L. Dunlap, all of Milan; two daughters, Phyllis Dunlap of Milan and Lisa Dunlap of Ronturan, Illinois; one sister, Mamie Byrd of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 14 grandchildren and several other relatives.
Bond Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Isabelle Mae Kemper
1919-2003
GOODLETTSVILLE: Isabelle Mae Kemper, also known as "Didee" and "Ikky" died on Thursday, April 24. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Kemper, her parents, William McKinley and Katie Ruth Lassiter and her brothers, Leroy and Randall Lassiter. Survivors include her sons, John T. Kemper Jr. (Judith A) and William M. Kemper (Lewellyn J.); her daughter, Barbara Joyce Kemper Ferguson; one daughter-in-law, Nancy B. Works; grandchildren Jamie Kemper, John Kemper III (Sue), Beth Kemper, Billy Kemper, David Ferguson, Michael Ferguson, Evan Kemper and Miriam Kemper; great-grandchildren Andi Ferguson, Heather Ferguson, Amanda Ferguson and Macy Kemper; sisters and brothers, William Lassiter (Margaret), Jean Spillers (John), Robert Lassiter (Helene), Dora Ferguson (Raymond), Vivian Fay (Richard), Joann Evans (Raymond), Peggy Honeycutt (Roy), and John Anthony "Tony" Lassiter (Carolyn); sisters-in-law, Jane Lassiter and Bill Lassiter; beloved friend Mable Parrott and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cole and Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville was in charge of the arrangements. Services were Saturday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Gene Gober officiating. Interment icon followed in Luton's Chapel cemetery in Goodlettsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Luton's Chapel cemetery Fund.

Everett McBride
1926-2005
McKENZIE - Everett McBride, 79, died Monday, December 12, at McKenzie Regional Hospital in McKenzie. Services will be held Wednesday, December 14, at 11 a.m., at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Harrell Nation officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet cemetery with Brummitt Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. McBride was born February 3, 1926, in Henry County, to Hulon H. and Mattie Annie Yarbrough McBride, both deceased. He was a retired rural mail carrier and member of First United Methodist Church in McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by one son, Donald Everett McBride, and one grandson, Jacob M. McBride.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Scarbrough McBride; two sons, Kenny (Becky) McBride and Tim McBride, both of McKenzie; one sister, Betty Long of Stanford, Kentucky; and two grandchildren, Matt and Will McBride.

William A.V. Jefferies
1924-2005
CLARKSBURG - William A.V. Jefferies, 81, died Saturday, December 10, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted December 12 in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Crossno officiating. Interment icon followed in the Seller Hill cemetery.
Mr. Jefferies was born April 19, 1924 in Portageville, Missouri, to the late Burt and Flossie (Howell) Jefferies. He was a plumber, carpenter, farmer, and a World War II Army veteran, and was a member of the Hickory Plains Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Monty Lee Jefferies and Tony Edward Jefferies; two brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Opal Jefferies; two daughters, Motty Beckham of Clarksburg and Brenda Jefferies Umstead of Lexington; two brothers, Harold Jefferies of Indiana and Sherill Jefferies of Millington; two sisters, Marion, and Genevieve Vanviver of Indiana; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Ava Jewell Bennett
1914-2005
HUNTINGDON - Ava Jewell Bennett, 90, died Saturday, December 10, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted December 12 in the chapel of Dilday Funeral Home with Brother Wayne Holmes officiating. Interment icon followed in the Palmer Shelter cemetery.
Mrs. Bennett was born December 20, 1914, in Carroll County, to the late Thomas and Francis Hood Belew. She was a retired employee of Basler Electric and a member of Palmer Shelter United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Davis Bennett, who died October 18, 1989; two brothers, Curtis Belew and Jimmy Belew; and one son-in-law, Jerry Shands.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Jo Anne) Franklin Bennett and Jerry (Carol) Thomas Bennett; one daughter, Shirley Nell Shands; and one sister, Brooxsie Nell Campbell, all of Huntingdon; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.

James Harmon Cooper
1935-2005
HUNTINGDON - James Harmon Cooper, 70, died Saturday, December 10, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted December 13 in the chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. Interment icon followed in the Christian Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Cooper was born September 8, 1935, in Dyer County. He was a retired employee of Conal Company.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Scott; his stepfather, Ethridge Scott; and a grandson, James Michael Cooper Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Cooper of Jackson; three daughters: Debbie Maness and Patricia Pensis, both of Spring Creek, and Misty Kehrer of Leach; two sons, Michael Cooper of Spring Creek and Jimmy Cooper of Leach; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Alice Louise Hollingsworth Rogers
1943-2005
BRUCETON - Alice Louise Hollingsworth Rogers, 62, died Thursday, December 8, at Jackson-Madison County Hospital. Services were conducted Sunday, December 11, at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home chapel in Camden with Bro. Sammy Douglas officiating. Burial followed in Pisgah cemetery in Carroll County.
Mrs. Rogers was born March 4, 1943, in Carroll County, to Henry and Verlie Bell Hollingsworth. She was a homemaker and a former machine operator for Henry I. Siegel. She was a member of Calilee General Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Lee and David Holligsworth, and one sister, Linda Frazee.
She is survived by her husband, Cordell Rogers of Bruceton; one daughter, Barbara Rogers Frazee of Bruceton; two sons, Robert Rogers of Bruceton and Randy Rogers of Camden; four sisters: Jo Ann Lowe and Carolyn McEwen, both of Bruceton, Mary Ann Taylor of Parsons, and Vickie Sue Rogers of Bruceton; six brothers: Junior, Bobby and James Hollingsworth, all of Bruceton, L.C. Hollingsworth of Dresden, and Leslie and Raymond Hollingsworth of Bruceton; and seven grandchildren.

Roy Douglas McGinnis
1922-2005
HUNTINGDON - Roy Douglas McGinnis, 83, died Wednesday, December 7, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted December 11 at Huntingdon First United Methodist Church with Dr. Paul Mulikin and Rev. Dossie Wheatley officiating. Interment icon followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. McGinnis was born July 3, 1922, in Carroll County, to the late George Hagerty McGinnis and Lena (Barlow) McGinnis, the youngest of five sons. He was inducted in the U.S. Army in 1942 as a member of the 238th Engineer Battalion with which he served in northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe, and North Africa. He participated in the Normandy invasion of Utah Beach and Berlin. He received numerous medals and honors. He retired as the owner and operator of Modern Dry Cleaners. As a long-term member of the Huntingdon First United Methodist Church, he participated in the building of several Habitat for Humanity homes and traveled regularly with senior group XYZ.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Helen W. McGinnis, who died in January 2002.
He is survived by one daughter, Carol Ann (Ben) Fisher of St. Petersburg, Florida; a special friend, Mrs. Virginia Gillenwater of McKenzie; and several nieces and nephews.

NAOMI ELIZABETH DANIEL BERRY
1921-2008
DYERSBURG: Naomi Elizabeth Daniel Berry, 86, died Friday, June 13, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were Tuesday, June 17, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern with Charles Watkins officiating. Burial followed in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.
Ms. Berry was born July 28, 1921 to the late James Walter and Aultie Emma Lee Reynolds. She was a homemaker and a retired employee of Oak Manor Nursing Home in McKenzie. She was a Methodist and a member of the Dyersburg Home Demonstration Club. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Gasser, Mildred Naples, and Louise Gill; and two brothers, Floyd Reynolds and Paul Reynolds.
Survivors include: two daughters, Emily Nannette Daniel of Newbern and Norma Louise Wilkes of Huntingdon; five sons, Paul S. Daniel of Sandy, Utah, James Alan Daniel of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jerald Timothy Daniel of Newbern, Phillip Ray Daniel of Munford, and Walter Kendall Daniel of McKenzie; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

ANDREA (ANN) BEASLEY
1949-2007
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS: Andrea (Ann) Beasley, 56, formerly of Gleason, died Monday, February 5, after battling cancer for over 3 1/2 years. A memorial service was held Thursday, February 8, at 10 a.m. at the Summit Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas with Bill Elliff officiating.
Mrs. Beasley was born September 24, 1949 in McKenzie to Thomas Edward and Mary Frances Farmer Allmon. She was a member of the Summit Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Beasley.
Survivors include: her parents; one son, Bill Beasley of Jacksonville, Arkansas; one daughter, Amy (Kelly) Powers of Sherwood, Arkansas; and two grandchildren.
Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock, Arkansas was in charge of arrangements.

TODD CARTER FLEMING
1962-2007
JACKSON - Todd Carter Fleming, 44, formerly of Huntingdon, died Tuesday, February 6 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Friday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Dr. Stephen Atwood officiating. Burial followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Fleming was born May 28, 1962 in Memphis. He was a 1980 graduate of Huntingdon High School. Following graduation, he entered the U. S. Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky and served in the National Guard in Huntingdon for eighteen years and two months. He also served nine months in the Persian Gulf as a volunteer for the National Guard in the clean up of Kuwait during which time he received his promotion to Staff Sergeant. He was an account representative for Alcon Corporation in Memphis and co-owner of The Men's Shoppe in Huntingdon.
He received his Eagle award at the age of 15, highest award in scouting. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntingdon and also served as one of the senior high representatives on the Youth Council. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Fleming.
Survivors include: his mother, Halli Hardwick Fleming of Jackson; and a special friend, John Gates, Jr. of Jackson.
