Blondell Summers
1934-2004
McKENZIE - Funeral services for Mrs. Blondell Summers, 70, were Friday, December 31, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home with Rev. Wray Forrest officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Summers, a retired beautician and beauty shop owner in McKenzie, died Wednesday, December 29, at her residence in McKenzie. She was a native of Weakley County, born April 1, 1934, to the late Doyle Underwood, Sr. and Louise Laster Underwood. She was Baptist in faith.
She was the widow of Charles Summers and is survived by a son, Keith (Kathy) Summers of McKenzie; a sister, Montcell Matlock of McKenzie; a brother, Doyle Underwood Jr., of Eagan, Minnesota; two granddaughters: Amanda Lewis and Jennifer Summers, both of McKenzie; and a great-granddaughter, Asia Nicole Lewis of McKenzie.

Lozette F. Burrow
1921-2005
McKENZIE - Lozette Featherstone Burrow, age 83, died September 15 at McKenzie Regional Hospital, after residing at McKenzie Healthcare Center since May. Funeral services for Mrs. Burrow were held Monday, September 19, at McKenzie Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Burrow was a lifelong resident of McKenzie, born October 30, 1921, to J.D. and Lena Stoker Featherstone. She was married September 8, 1940 to Thomas Burrow, who died in 1976. She was employed by BellSouth for 31 years, retiring from the Humboldt office in 1979. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in McKenzie.
Mrs. Burrow is survived by two sisters: Murrell F. Penick of McKenzie and Ann F. Harris (George Gary) of Hendersonville, Tenn. She also leaves a niece, Amanda Blue of Hendersonville, and three nephews: Albert Harris of St. Augustine, Florida, Joseph (Heidi) Harris of Hendersonville, and Samuel (Janetta) Harris of Magnolia, Delaware. She is also survived by four great-nieces and one great-nephew: Christina Ann Hamilton, Claire Amanda Blue, Zoe Ember Ray, and Landon Thomas Harris, all of Hendersonville, and Katherine Grace Harris of Magnolia, Delaware.
She is also survived by her late husband's nieces and nephew: Hope Evangeline (Bill) Powers of Atwood, Jo Lynn (Richard) Barlow of Jackson, and Clay (Brooxie) Dillahunty of Huntingdon. Great nieces and great nephews by marriage are John (Rose) Powers, Russell Powers, Tracy (Brandy) Powers, Gara (James) Reynolds and Barry Dillahunty.
Her husband, parents, stepmother, Otis Taylor Featherstone, and her brother, Graden Featherstone, preceded Mrs. Burrow in death.

Chester Weathers
HUNTINGDON - Chester Weathers, 83, of Huntingdon, died Thursday, September 15, at his home. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 18, at Parker's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment icon followed in the church cemetery. Rev. Charles Clark officiated the service.
Mr. Weathers retired from the city of Huntingdon in 1987.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Laurine Townes; his second wife, Narvise Staten Weathers; parents Seaburn and Ela Weathers; six sisters: Dollie Weathers, Vessie Taylor, Hester Pearson, Lizzie Melton, Vernesta Weathers, and Martha Butler; and two brothers: Floyd Weathers and Hershell Weathers.
He is survived by a sister, Faye Weathers of Huntingdon; one stepdaughter, Michelle Staten; three step-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Jimmy "Shorty" Redden
1944-2005
EVA: Jimmy "Shorty" Redden, 61, of Eva, died Monday, September 12, at his home from injuries he received in a tractor accident.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, September 14, in the chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. Interment icon followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens. Brother Bryan Oakes officiated the services.
Mr. Redden was born September 2, 1944 in Brownwood, Texas, to the late James Alton and Ada Evelyn Crews Redden. He was a retired employee of Norandal with 36 years of service and a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Marla Thornton of Eva; a son, Janson (Jolene) Redden of Camden; and a sister, Gaye Lynn Tippitt of Huntingdon. He also leaves two nephews, a niece, and a great nephew.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Finis Ward Hagler
1927-2005
GLEASON - Finis Ward Hagler, 78, died Saturday, September 17, at Jackson Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 20, at the Gallimore Funeral Home, with the Revs. Mike Jeffers and Gene Price officiating. Burial was in New Valley cemetery.
Mr. Hagler, a retired truck driver, was born July 14, 1927 to the late Charley Byas Hagler and Annie B. Ward Hagler. He was a member of the New Valley Methodist Church in Gleason.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Hagler. Survivors include two sons: Mike Hagler of McKenzie and Mark Hagler of Gleason; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Linda Lawrence of Gleason.

Jewel Pruitt Henson
1919-2005
HUNTINGDON - Jewel Pruitt Henson, 86, died Friday, September 16, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 19, in the chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. Interment icon was in Bethlehem cemetery.
Mrs. Henson was born August 12, 1919 to the late William Johnson and Ilah Chandler Pruitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Henson.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Duncan of Atlanta, Georgia; one son, Thomas (Serena) Henson of California; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Mary Elizabeth Longmire
1923-2005
HUNTINGDON - Mary Elizabeth Longmire, 81, died September 16 at her home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 18, in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment icon was in the Davis Chapel cemetery. Brother Rufus Chandler and Brother Jerry Dodd officiated the service.
Mrs. Longmire was born October 5, 1923, in Carroll County, to the late Arlie Jessie and Ludie (Kirk) Miller. She was a retired molding machine operator at the Sunbeam Company and a member of the Concord Missionary Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Willey Longmire; two sisters: Parlee Stewart and Flossie Longmire; one brother, Jessie Miller; and one grandson.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Caudill; two sons: William Longmire and Roy (Myra) Longmire, both of Clarksburg; one sister, Frances Franklin of Huntingdon; ten grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Lola Pate
1924-2005
HUNTINGDON - Lola Pate, 81, died Thursday, September 15, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 18, at Dilday Funeral Home East Room. Interment icon followed in the Hampton cemetery.
Mrs. Pate was born April 4, 1924 in Summitt, Alabama. She was a retired waitress for the Cozy Grill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Mary Chaney; her husband, Glenn Moore Pate; a brother, Starling Chaney; and a sister, Lila Chaney.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon A. (Hobo) Sanford of Huntingdon, and a son, Ernie Dillon (Margie) Hammond of Indiana; a brother, Tommy Chaney of McKenzie; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Florence Evelyn Swain
1909-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Florence Evelyn Swain, 96, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 22, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Brodhead, Wisconsin. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery in Brodhead. Brummitt Funeral Home and Newcomer Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Swain, a homemaker, died Saturday, September 17, at her residence.
She was born February 27, 1909, in Green County, Wisconsin, to the late Arthur Rosheisen and Maretta Bussey Rosheisen. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brodhead.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Hamilton of McKenzie, four grandchildren: Cindy (Lance) Swain, James (Gwen) Swain, Candace Hawkins, and Bradley Hawkins; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Swain; a son, Arthur Martin Swain; and a great-grandchild.

Joe Lee Hardin
GALLATIN: Joe Lee Hardin, 69, died September 19. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, at Alexander Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Hammonds officiating. Interment icon will follow in Hayesville cemetery in Lafayette. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Al Menah Shriners Hospital.
Mr. Hardin was a member of the Hendersonville Church of God, American Legion #17, and Hendersonville Lodge #359. He was a 32nd degree Mason, an Al Menah Shriner, and retired from the U.S. Army Reserves as a major.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Allen and Grace Jane Gammons; first wife, Dean Bagsby Hardin; brother, Paul Allen Hardin.
He is survived by his wife, Beula Mattox Hardin of Gallatin; two sons: Gary Lee Hardin and William Allen Hardin, both of Hendersonville; a daughter, Deborah Lynne (Allen) Weatherspoon of Gallatin; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Alexander Funeral Home in Gallatin is in charge of the arrangements.

Eugene E. Ross
1938-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Eugene E. Ross, 66, were conducted Sunday, July 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie. Interment icon followed at Liberty cemetery in McKenzie.
Mr. Ross, a retired city of McKenzie Street Department employee, died Thursday, June 30, at Regional Hospital in Jackson.
He was born July 31, 1938, in Tiptonville, to the late Clarence E. Ross and Nana Lou Burlison.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Pearl Lee Ross; a son, Daryl Eugene Ross of McKenzie; two daughters, Debra Ross of Martin and Gwen Bradley of McKenzie; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

William Thompkins "Billy" Webb
1929-2005
HUNTINGDON - Services for William Thompkins "Billy" Webb, were conducted Saturday, July 2, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dan Winkler officiating. Interment icon followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Webb died Wednesday, June 29, at his home.
He was born October 17, 1929, in Bruceton, to the late Charlie B. Webb and Willie Hurt Webb. He had retired as the chief mechanic for Cypress Mineral Company and was a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mertie Faye Scott, who died April 5, 1993, and one sister, Charlene Saunders.
Survivors include one son, Billy Scott Webb of Smyrna; two daughters, Sharon Hart of Limerick, Pennsylvania, and Helen McClain of Huntingdon; one brother, Robert Webb of Bruceton; one sister, Elizabeth Fabian of Frankston, Texas; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
