PARIS - Teresa T. Byars, 46, died September 3 at Henry County Medical Center. Services were conducted September 7 at Sparks Street Church of Christ, Paris, with Edward Howard officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood cemetery with Trinity Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Byars is survived by her husband James M. Byars; her parents, Lester and Maxine Teague; two daughters, Lesley Tharpe of Paris and LeAnn Tharpe-Hudson of McKenzie; one stepdaughter, Montesa Marie Byars of Murray, Kentucky; 3 brothers, Mark Teague, Timothy Teague, and Ronald E. (Cathy) Teague, all of Paris; two sisters, Debra Bass and Kimberly (Edward) Pate, both of Paris, and two grandchildren.

Hazel Estelle Powell
1929-2005
McKENZIE - Hazel Estelle Powell, 76, died Saturday, September 3, at Oak Manor Nursing Home. Services were conducted September 5 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. Gary S. Collier officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park cemetery in Paris.
Mrs. Powell was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Erby Powell of McKenzie with whom she was married in 1949; three daughters, Rhonda Norman (Mike Hanks) of Paris, Connie Caviness of Memphis, and Teri (Chad) McDaniel of McKenzie; four grandchildren: Kelly Norman (fiancee' Alicia Harris), Jamie Birmingham (fiance' Stephen Saylor), Dusty Hollowell, and Jessy Hollwell.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, two sisters, one brother and her parents, Lona Landford and Jessie Davis Landford.

Otto Orval Jordan
1918-2005
McKENZIE - Otto Orval Jordan Jr., 87, died at his residence Tuesday, September 6. Services were September 9 at Williams Kampp Funeral Home in Wheaton, Illinois.
Mr. Jordan was a retired building engineer. He is survived by his wife, Ann Bennett Jordan of McKenzie; two sons, William Jordan of Wheaton, Illinois and Otto Jordan III of McKenzie; one brother, Larry Jordan of Arizona, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Martha Jordan.
McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Rosalee Matlock
1916-2005
McKENZIE - Rosalee Matlock, 89, died Friday, September 2, at McKenzie Regional Hopsital. Services were held Monday, September 5, at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Jim Roberts officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Matlock was born April 20, 1916, in Hickman, Kentucky to the late Carlton Langley and Ezzie White.
She was a homemaker and a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons: Bill Matlock of Trezevant, Dwayne W. Matlock of McKenzie, and Jerry D. Matlock of Dresden; three daughters, Fay Hartzler and Janice Bartholomew, both of McKenzie, and Dorothy D. Horton of Huntingdon; one brother, Autis Langley of McKenzie; two half-brothers, John White of McKenzie and Bill White of Enoch, Mississippi; one sister, Dorothy Sutton of Chattanooga; 28 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Langley.

Virginia Lee Devault
HOLLOW ROCK - Virginia Lee Devault, 85, died Wednesday, September 7, at Henry County Medical Center. Services were conducted by Rev. Steven Davis, September 9 at the Bruceton Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Devault was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star Adah Chapter #314 for 55 years, and Hollow Rock VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Maurice Devault; two sons, Sherman Devault and Mark Devault, and one granddaughter. She is survived by one son, Daniel (Sandra) Devault of Bruceton; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Order of Eastern Star Rites were conducted Thursday, September 8

Diana L. Osborn
1954-2005
Diana Lee McFadden Osborn, 50, died Tuesday, September 6. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, September 8. Pastor Tim Keenum officiated. Burial was in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
She was a 1973 graduate of Butler High School and a member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church in Limestone County. Her sister, Maryann McFadden, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Danny Osborn of Athens; daughter, Brandy (Ray) Holland of Taft, Tennessee; son, Michael Osborn of Ardmore, Tennessee; parents, Billy and Peggy McFadden of Huntsville; sister, Debbie (John) Miller of Huntsville; brother, Billy (Nancy) McFadden of Frankewing, Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Daulton Holland, Janna Holland and Hunter Osborn. Laughlin Service Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Frances Tate Miller Smith
1922-2005
TREZEVANT - Funeral services for Mary Frances Tate Miller Smith, 82, were held Tuesday, September 13, at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant, with Bro. Malcolm Norton officiating. Burial was in Trezevant cemetery in Trezevant.
Mrs. Smith, a retired bank teller for Farmers and Merchants Bank in Trezevant, died Saturday, September 10, at West Tennessee Transitional Center in Jackson.
She was born September 30, 1922 in Trezevant, the daughter of the late John Leander Tate and Nancy Lou Jackson Tate and Nancy Lou Jackson Tate. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Trezevant and member of the Good Sam Club.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Lynda) Miller of McKenzie; and two grandchildren, Ken Miller of McKenzie and Angela Miller of Boca Raton, Florida. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Roscoe Miller, and her second husband, George Glen Smith; and two sisters, Loy Tate and Thelma Tate.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Lawrence Edward Glover
1930-2005
WESTPORT: Lawrence Edward Glover, 75, died Saturday, September 10, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 14 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment icon will follow in the East View cemetery in Camden. Bro. Billy Clark will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends in the Cherry Rood Room of Chase Funeral Home after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday.
Mr. Glover was born July 7, 1930, in Covington, to the late Wes and Ocie (Hatchell) Glover. He was retired from the Vulcan Materials as a truck driver and was a member of the Westport Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Miller, and two brothers, J.T. Glover and Ronnie Glover.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Laura (Anderson) Glover; two daughters, Linda (Mike) Utley of Camden and Rose Oliver of Newbern; one son, Edward Dale Glover of Camden; one sister, Joyce Evans of California; six brothers, Jerry Glover, John Glover, and Charles Glover all of Camden, Doug Glover of Bruceton, Robie Glover of Covington, and Ralph Glover of West Memphis, Arkansas; five granddaughters; three grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.

John Thomas Simmons
1914-2005
MIXIE: John Thomas Simmons, 91, died Wednesday, September 7 at his home.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 10, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. Interment icon followed in the Chapel Hill cemetery. Brother Tony Boyd officiated the service.
Mr. Simmons was born February 22, 1914, in Tennessee, to the late John Oscar and Julia Elizabeth Dunlap Simmons. He was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Carden Simmons, and a son, James Edwin Simmons.
He is survived by two daughters, Betty Simmons Wilson of Hollow Rock and Elizabeth Simmons Hatlen of Evansville, Wisconsin; three half-brothers, Tommy Simmons, David Simmons and Sammy Simmons, all of Paris; and a special caretaker, Mrs. Frances Robinson; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Gretta Luther Hollingsworth
1933-2005
BRUCETON - Gretta Luther Hollingsworth, 72, died Saturday, September 10, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Services were held Tuesday, September 13, at the Bruceton Funeral Home chapel with burial following in the Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Hollingsworth was employed by Camden General Hospital as a secretary, and was a member of Bruceton First Baptist Church. She was born May 23, 1933, in Benton County, to the late Dewey Lindell Luther and Lillian Cole Luther.
She is survived by her spouse, Molly Hollingsworth of Bruceton; two daughters, Ellen Hollingsworth Boyd of Olive Branch, Miss., and Amy Hollingsworth Davenport of Horn Lake, Miss.; two brothers, Lindell Ray Luther of Bruceton and Willard E. Luther of Camden.

Marvin Leon Chapman
1925-2005
McKENZIE - Marvin Leon Chapman, 80, died Tuesday, September 6, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 8, at the McKenzie Church of Christ with Bro. Jim Roberts officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Chapman, a retired postal worker, was born March 11, 1925, in Newbern, to the late Reuben A. Chapman and Ora Bell (Howell) Chapman. He was a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son Kyle (Alice) Chapman of McKenzie; two daughters, Deborah (Daniel) Simon of McKenzie and Valerie (Ken) Sanders of Gleason; a brother, George (Wilma) Chapman of McKenzie; three grandchildren, Bryan Sanders, Kara Atkins, and Jennifer Sanders; and a great-granddaughter Kenady Atkins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Chapman.

Robert Allen Green
McLEMORESVILLE - Robert Allen Green, 58, died Saturday, September 10, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 12, by Rev. Billy Morphis at McLemoresville United Methodist Church with burial in McLemoresville cemetery.
Mr. Green is survived by one brother, James V. Green of Trezevant. He was the son of the late John V. Green and Elsie Lee Herndon Green.

Ella Marie Turner
1917 - 2005
HOLLOW ROCK - Ella Marie Turner died Friday, September 9 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were Sunday, September 11, at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Blackwell officiating. Burial was in New Prospect cemetery.
Mrs. Turner, a homemaker, was born May 15, 1917, in Dresden, to the late George W. Fitzgerald and Lula Mae Prince Fitzgerald. She was a member of Bethel Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Camden.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Poniatowski of Fair Haven, Michigan; a son, Rex Turner Sr. of Hollow Rock; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
