James Ralph Ivy

HUNTINGDON - Mr. James Ralph Ivy, 51, died Tuesday, August 19 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bobby Ivy officiating. Interment
followed in the Hebron cemetery.
Mr. Ivy was born June 22, 1952 in Cedar Grove. He was a construction worker and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his father, James Alvis Ivy.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Virginia and Richard Oswald of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Andrea Connolly of Washington State and Anita Ourchene of California; five brothers, Bobby Ivy, Alvis Ivy, Matt Ivy and Randy Ivy, all of Milan and Richard Ivy of Iola, Kansas; one sister, Darlene Ivy of McKenzie and five grandchildren.
Archie E. Adkisson

TREZEVANT - Services for Archie E. Adkisson, 79, were on Saturday, March 1, at 12:00 p.m. at Wingo Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Daniel Morton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Adkisson, retired from the Milan Arsenal, died on Tuesday, February 25 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
He was born March 23, 1923 in Trezevant to the late Verde Ma Adkisson and Priest Adkisson. He was a member of Wingo Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elnora R. Adkisson, one stepson, Cornelius Howard; one daughter, Dorthy Greer Carter; three brothers, Ethridge, James and Evester Adkisson, all of Trezevant; and three grandchildren, Ricardo Adkisson, Cornelius Wayne Howard and Angie Howard.

Guy Raymond Batchelor

TRENTON - Funeral services for Guy Raymond Batchelor, 74, were held at 10:00 a.m., at Shelton Funeral Home with burial in Griers Chapel. Mr. Batchelor, owner and operator of Batchelor's Repair Shop, died on Sunday, February 23 at Trenton Health Care Center.
Survivors included cousins, Bond Puckett of Jackson, Harold Bond of Dyersburg, Bonnie Wade King of Trenton, Frank Hays of McKenzie, Annie Lou King of Dyer, Mark Bond of McKenzie and Belle Puckett of Knoxville.
Albert Lee Harris

McKENZIE - Services for Albert Lee Harris, 98, were at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 3 at McKenzie Church of Christ with Brother Jim Roberts and Brother Kenneth Edwards officiating. Burial was in the Carroll Memorial Gardens in McKenzie. Mr. Harris, a retired farmer, died Saturday, March 1 at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
Mr. Harris was born on September 4, 1904 in Wildersville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Odell Thomas Harris; his mother, Etta Reams Harris, father Andy Harris, a daughter Onell Harris Bannister; sisters, Lena Harris Wilson, Clara Harris and Ruby Harris Wilkins; a brother, Paul Harris and a granddaughter, Lori Lynn Sexton.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth H. Barlow and husband Karl; and Ruth H. Bucy and husband Ralph; a son, James A. Harris and wife, Faye, all of McKenzie; three grandchildren, Robin Barlow, Kristi B. Oakley and Melissa McElroy and seven great-grandchildren. A nephew, Larry Paul Harris also survives.

Ruby Horn

TUPELO, MISSISSIPPI - Ruby Lee Edwards Horn, 83, died Wednesday, February 5 at her home in Tupelo. She was born January 6, 1920 in Weakley County to the late Lee and Enola Brawner Edwards. She lived most of her life in Houston before moving to Tupelo in 1992. She was a 1940 graduate of Houston High School where she was salutatorian. She graduated from Mississippi State University in 1972 at the age of 52. She was an emeritus life member of Phi Kappa Phi. She retired from the Mississippi State Department of Public Welfare in 1985. She worked as a clerk, caseworker, program auditor and quality assurance evaluator. She was a member of the Houston First Baptist Church, where she was the Sunday school general secretary for 40 years. She was a member of the Delphian Club and served as a Pink Lady at the Houston Hospital. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and enjoyed sewing and traveling.
Services were on Friday, February 7 at Houston First Baptist Church with Bro. Don Robertson and Bro. Bennett Blanton officiating. Entombment followed at the Chapel of Faith Mausoleum at Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, R.C. 'Ted' Horn of Tupelo; a son, David Horn and wife Pat of Van Vleet; a daughter, Sandra Cox of Carolina; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; a sister, Garnette Vaughn and husband Brock of Humboldt; two sisters-in-law, Winnie Edwards of Battle Creek, Michigan and Joyce Wray of Gleason; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Dottie Patterson, Brenda Chrestman, Mary Cunningham and Linda Shackelford.
Her parents, a special aunt, her stepmother, two sisters, a brother and stepbrother preceded her in death.
Loria Jameson

HUNTINGDON - Services were at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1 at Smyrna Baptist Church in Huntingdon for Loria Jameson.
The Rev. Carvene Jameson, pastor of Williams Grove Baptist Church near Camden officiated. The burial was in the Church of Deliverance cemetery at Huntingdon.
Mrs. Jameson, 39, died of heart failure on Tuesday, February 25 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
Born in Flatwood on April 14, 1963, she was the daughter of Charles Lee Owens and Robbie Lou Hall Owens of Lexington. She was married
to Mark Jameson, who survives, on September 3, 1986. A 1982 graduate of Lexington High School, she attended Tennessee Technical School in McKenzie. She was a clerical worker and a member of the Full Gospel Church of Deliverance Church in Huntingdon where she was a first lady.
Survivors include three daughters, Candus Owens of Lexington, Carrisa Sade Jameson of Huntingdon and LaToyha Ray Ross of Jackson; two sisters, Jackie and Barbara Owens, both of Lexington; and one brother, Charles 'Chuck' Owens, Jr. of Lexington.

TREZEVANT - Services for James Stansell, 67, were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 28 at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant with Rev. Malcolm Norton officiating. Burial was in the Trezevant cemetery.
Mr. Stansell, a retired employee of the Milan Arsenal, died on Tuesday, February 25 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was born on March 7, 1935 in Finger.
One daughter, Sandra Dee Stansell, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Stansell; his mother, Kathleen Whitmore of Trezevant; one son, Tim and wife Rhonda Stansell of Trezevant; one daughter, Kimberly and husband Anthony McCartney of Trezevant; one sister, Nancy and husband Richard Pinson of McKenzie; seven grandchildren, T.J. Stansell, Bethany Stansell, Justin Carroll, Brittney Barber, Harleigh McCartney, Frankie Murphy and Jessica Murphy.
George Washington Twyman

HUNTINGDON - Mr. George Washington Twyman, 88, died on Tuesday, February 25 at his home. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, February 27 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Robert Barger officiating. Interment
followed at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Twyman was born on December 20, 1914 in Waverly, Ohio, to the late Moses and Jane Nesselroad Twyman. He was a retired employee of the Milan Arsenal and a World War II navy veteran. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Frazee and Marie Rosser and three brothers, Cortes Twyman, Herbert Twyman and Charles Twyman.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ovie Wilkes Twyman; a daughter, Elinor Karen Twyman of Huntingdon; two sons, James Glynn Twyman of Cosby and George Lynn Twyman of Huntingdon; two brothers, Walter Twyman of Nashville and Frank Twyman of Jackson; two sisters, Jennie Sanders of Huntingdon and Mary Grimm of Jackson; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Curtis Harlon Peery

DRESDEN - Services for Curtis Harlon Peery, 78, will be on Thursday, March 6 at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial will be in Sunset cemetery.
Mr. Peery, a retired janitorial supervisor at UTM in Martin, died on Sunday, March 2 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Weakley County to the late Curtis Hansel and Mamie Summers Peery. He was a member of the Olivet Methodist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Judy Morris of Dresden, Brenda Kay Parish of Trezevant, Sandra Latimer of Pacifica, California and Elizabeth Ann Argo of Pawnee, Oklahoma; a brother, Dan Richard Peery of Nashville; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
His wife, Rachel Elizabeth Miller Peery, also preceded him in death.
Vadie Stokes

McKENZIE - Services for Vadie Stokes, 92, will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Burial will be in Everett's Chapel cemetery.
Mrs. Stokes, widow of Ernest M. Stokes, died on Sunday, March 2 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
She was born on February 27, 1911 in Perry County to the late Imogene Crafton Stokes and John Allen Stokes. She was a member of McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Louis Stokes of McKenzie; two daughters, Betty Reeves of McKenzie and Buelah Mingle of Gleason; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Her parents were the late Imogene Crafton Capps and John Allen Capps.
Jesse H. Presley

TREZEVANT - Services for Jesse H. Presley, 75, were at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 25 at Brummitt Funeral Home, Inc. with burial in Hopewell cemetery in Lavinia.
Mr. Presley, a retired farmer, died Friday, August 22 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
He was born July 20, 1928 in Trezevant to the late Vester Lee Presley and Varney Presley. He was a member of the McLemoresville Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lee Junior Presley.
Survivors include two brothers, Bro. Virgil Presley of Ripley and Jerry Presley of McKenzie and a sister, Imogene Presley of Trezevant.
Virgil Wall

CLARKSBURG - Mr. Virgil Wall, 93, died Thursday, August 21 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, August 22 at 3:00 p.m. at the Clarksburg Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Phillip Halter and Bro. Andrew Stokes officiating. Interment
followed in the Clarksburg cemetery.
Mr. Wall was born March 25, 1910 in Carroll County to the late Luther and Elizabeth Pendergrass Wall. H was a retired farmer, member of the Ruritan Club of Clarksburg and the oldest serving deacon for 50+ years for the Clarksburg Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Crider Wall, who died April 29, 2002; his stepmother, Eva Pritchard Wall; one son, Bobby Wall and two brothers, Henry Wall and Bernice Wall.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Swearingen of Hollow Rock and one daughter-in-law, Ruth Wall of Bartlett; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home in Huntingdon was in charge of the arrangements.
