Lillian B. Welch Reed
1929-2003
CEDAR GROVE - Services for Lillian B. Welch Reed, 74, were at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 3 at Reed's Chapel. Burial followed in Antioch cemetery.
Mrs. Reed, a retired employee of Porter-Cable, died on Tuesday, September 30 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Survivors include her children, Brenda Walls and Michael Reed, both of Cedar Grove; a sister, Imogene Robinson of Childersburg, Alabama, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Viola Lenard King Arnold
1912-2003
ATWOOD - Funeral service for Mrs. Viola Lenard King Arnold, 91, were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 4 at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Robb Parker officiating. Burial followed in the Henderson City cemetery.
Mrs. Arnold died on October 2 at Milan General Hospital.
She was making her home with her granddaughter, Frances Coe in Atwood. She was born in Tippah County, Mississippi, February 4, 1912 to the late Marion Lenard and Callie Flake of Mississippi. She was a resident of Jackson for 51 years. She was married in March 1936 to Joseph King, and in 1971, married Cecil Dudley Arnold, both of whom preceded her in death. A son, James King; one sister, Birdie Burton and four brothers, Johnny McCoy, William Lenard, Rufus Lenard and Curtis Lenard also preceded her in death.
Survivors include three children, Virginia Payne of Huntingdon, David King of Branson, Missouri and Frances Clements of Henderson; one brother, J.Z. Lenard of Jackson; twelve grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Barry Craig Bailey
1956-2003
BUCHANAN: Services for Barry Craig Bailey, 47, were held on Sunday, October 5 at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Atlanta. Interment icon followed at the Atlanta Memorial Gardens in Doraville, Georgia.
Mr. Bailey, an employee with Plumley-Dana Division, died on October 1 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Local arrangements were handled by McKenzie Funeral Home.
He was born on March 4, 1956 to Vera Mae Bailey of Doraville, Georgia and Marvin Bailey, who preceded him in death. Mr. Bailey served with the United State Navy and was a member of the Am-Vets Post 45 of Paris. While serving his country, he was discharged as a MM2 with the submarine squadron in Charleston, South Carolina.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Klatt Bailey, one brother, Darrell Bailey and wife Beverly of Doraville; and a special aunt, Irene Langley of Bynum, Alabama.

William Ewing Clifton
1928-2003
HENRY - Services for William Ewing Clifton, 75, were on Sunday, September 28 at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie. Burial was in the Henry cemetery in Henry.
Mr. Clifton, a retired truck driver, died on Thursday, September 25 at his home.
He was born March 29, 1928 in Bruceton to the late Mary Ann Townsend Clifton and Robert Lee Clifton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Laura Mae Clifton; a daughter, Sharon F. Weir; two sisters, Gertrude Gunn and Louise French and five brothers, Hubert Clifton, W.G. Clifton, J.T. Clifton, Gene Clifton and Odell Clifton.
Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Clark of Grand Junction, Michigan; two stepdaughters, Diane Spicher of Fayetteville and Sue Martelli of San Diego, California; one son, William L. Clifton of Campbell, Missouri; one sister, Frances Garrigus of Paris; one brother, Wayne Clifton of Prattville, Alabama; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

William Buman Argo, Jr.
1917-2003
TREZEVANT - Services for William Buman Argo, Jr., 86, were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 4 at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. Aaron Holmes officiating. Burial was in the Trezevant cemetery.
Mr. Argo, retired from the Milan Arsenal, died on Wednesday, October 1 at Methodist Hospital Central in Memphis.
He was born May 21, 1917 in Jackson to the late Vennie Kemp Argo and William B. Argo, Sr. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Trezevant.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Virginia Bryant Argo; a brother, Harold Argo and a sister, Thelma Williams.
Survivors include two sons, William B. Argo, III of Germantown and David Argo of Jackson and three grandchildren, Bradley Argo, Kevin Argo and Timothy Argo.
Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant was in charge of the arrangements.

Wallace E. Coleman, Sr.
1940-2003
ATWOOD - Services for Wallace Lee Coleman, Sr., 63, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Coleman died on Friday, September 19 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Survivors included his wife, Betty Coleman; one daughter, Dorene Bledsoe Caskil of Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania; two sons, Wallace Coleman, Jr. and Samuel Coleman, both of Atwood; five sisters, Edna Nelson of Chicago, Illinois, Elsie Collins of Atwood, Mary Adkisson of Milan, Mary Melton of McLemoresville and Louise Taylor of Humboldt and two brothers, Robert Coleman, Jr. of Chicago and L.C. Coleman of McLemoresville.
Stephenson-Shaw Funeral Home of Gibson County was in charge of the arrangements.

Leona Jones Finney
1921-2003
CLEVELAND, OHIO: Services for Mrs. Leona Jones Finney, 82, formerly of McKenzie, were held on Thursday, September 11 at Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio with Reverend Alfred Hudson officiating.
She died on Wednesday, September 3.
Mrs. Finney was born February 22, 1921 to the late Delia Jones in Weakley County. She grew up in McKenzie where she attended school and graduated high school.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Johnson Temple C.M.E. Church where she was a faithful member until her move to Cleveland. She was married to Mr. Lawton Finney, who preceded her in death in September, 1980.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Butler of Cleveland, Ohio; one son, Clarence (Essie) Jones of Memphis, five grandchildren, Jerry and Robert of Cleveland, Ohio, Eddie, Akimi and Mario of Memphis and nine great-grandchildren, Sherina, Nicole, Nathanel, Jermey, Cheyenne, Kobe, Jamari and the two that she raised, D'Angelo and Anastasia.

Curtis Lee Hutcherson
1953-2003
PARIS - Services for Curtis Lee Hutcherson, 50, were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27 in Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Gene Fowler officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood cemetery.
Mr. Hutcherson died on Monday, September 22 at the Plumbley Rehabilitation Center in Paris.
He was born on July 4, 1953 to the late Wayman Travis and LaRuth Hutcherson Travis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Candice Hutcherson.
Survivors include three daughters, Jessica Lynn Winburn, Katlyn Ann Hutcherson and Tarsheda Hilliard, all of Paris; three sisters, Glenda Warren, Helen McCain and Louise Somerville, all of Paris; four brothers, Hafford Jones of Davenport, Iowa and Jimmy E. Travis, Joe E. Travis and Wayne A. Travis, all of Paris; and one grandchild.
Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ernest Lee Bennett
1918-2003
HOLLOW ROCK - Services for Ernest Lee Bennett, 85, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends James Daniel and Joey Simmons officiating. Burial was in Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Bennett, a retired farmer died on Wednesday, September 24 at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
He was born September 21, 1918 in Carroll County to the late Clarence and Ruby Campbell Bennett.
Survivors include four sisters, Sadie Brown of Detroit, Michigan and Jean McMackin, Brooxie Brinkley and Juanita Green, all of Hollow Rock.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn McMackin and Rachael Jordan.

Raymond Cunningham
1908-2003
McKENZIE - Services for Raymond Cunningham, 94, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 30 at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant with Bro. Malcolm Norton and Rev. Vance Rushing officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove cemetery in Greenfield.
Mr. Cunningham, a retired farmer, died on Saturday, September 27 at his residence.
He was born December 13, 1908 in Weakley County to the late Martha Rial Cunningham and Robert Wiley Cunningham. He was a past Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Adelle Argo Cunningham; two sons, Bobby (Mattie) Cunningham of McKenzie and Mickey (Irmgard) Cunningham of Greenfield; two daughters, Peggye (Billie) Stout of Martin and Phyllis (Danny) Curtis of Trezevant; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Mabel Hodges and Robbie McCartney preceded him in death.

Lottis Wilbert Holland
1928-2003
CAMDEN - Services for Lottis Wilbert Holland were on Saturday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Stockdale-Malin Chapel with Bro. Chester Harrison and Bro. Kenneth Richey officiating. Burial was at Crossroads cemetery.
Mr. Holland, retired from HIS in Bruceton, died at his residence on Wednesday, September 24. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Camden and was a U.S. Naval veteran.
He was born February 2, 1928 in Benton County to the late Arlie Holland and Lola Cole Holland.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Sue Smothers Holland; two daughters, Charleace Warren of McKenzie and Cathy Waters of Camden; one son, Terry Holland of Camden; one sister, Virginia Bell of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Hazel C. Frensley
1926-2005
HUNTINGDON - Mansfield native Hazel Claudine Frensley, 79, died Monday, August 22, at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was married August 15, 1943, to William Allen Frensley, who survives.
Funeral services were Thursday, August 25, at McEvoy Funeral Home. Corey Meggs of New Life Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in the Bevil cemetery.
Born May 20, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Verbal Melton Toler. Mrs. Frensley formerly worked as a dietary supervisor in a California nursing home. She was a Baptist.
She leaves three daughters: Sherry Carvalho of Henry, Allen (Andy) Tabada of Huntingdon, and Joyce (Al) Santana of Galt, California; three sons: William Ken (Deloris) Frensley of Henry, Randy Frensley of Detroit, Michigan, and Hugh Frensley of Oklahoma; three sisters; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Frensley; a sister, Clairnel Lankford; and a brother, Earl Toler Jr.
