Mary "Peas" Williams
1938-2005
PARIS - Funeral services for Mary Magdalene "Peas" Williams were held Wednesday, August 24, at Trinity Funeral Home. The Rev. Darrell Albea officiated. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery.
Mrs. Williams died Friday, August 19, at Henry County Medical Center.
Born May 27, 1938, in Henry, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Leonie Milton.
She was married in November 1964 to Charles Algie Williams, who died Dec. 24, 1992.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Walton Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She leaves a brother, Larry Milton of Paris; a sister, Tina Foulks of Huntingdon; and several nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Maggie Lois Johnson
1911-2005
GLEASON - Services for Maggie Lois Johnson, 94, were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Jeffers officiating. Burial was in New Valley cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson, a homemaker, died Sunday, August 21, at McKenzie Health Care Center.
She was born January 10, 1911, in Paris, to the late Robert Lee Ellis and Ruthie May Harper Ellis. She was a member of Gleason First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar B. Johnson; two sons, Billie Joe Johnson and Ronnie Lee Johnson; three daughters, Jean Johnson, Genevieve (Pete) Garner, and Peggy Joyce Johnson; and four brothers: Price Ellis, Jack Ellis, Walter Ellis, and Bud Ellis, and five sisters: Quincie Peery, Clara Peery, Agnes Deaton, Ivy Bevill, and Ruby Trevathan.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by a daughter, Ruth Townsend of Gleason; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Imogene A. Carmargo
1934-2005
TREZEVANT - Ms. Imogene A. Camargo, 71, of Trezevant, died Sunday, August 21, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Funerals services were conducted Wednesday, August 24, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. Interment icon followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens, with Brother Billy Ringold conducting the service.
Ms. Camargo was born June 25, 1934, in Arkansas, to the late John and Dora Mae Crawford Hollingsworth. She was a home health nurse. She was preceded in death by three brothers: John Hollingsworth, J., Billy Ray Hollingsworth and Jackie Hollingsworth.
She is survived by two daughters: Nina Mobano of Trezevant, and Brenda Silva of Joliet, Illinois; two sisters: Linda Vega, of Finger and Betty Rivera of McKenzie; four brothers, Eddie Hollingsworth of Holladay, Ligie Hollingsworth of Huntingdon, Jimmy Hollingsworth of Lavinia, and Bobby Hollingsworth of West Memphis, Arkansas. She also leaves five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bessie Odessa McKenzie
1926-2005
McKENZIE - Bessie Odessa McKenzie died Sunday, August 21, at McKenzie Regional Hospital in McKenzie. Services were held at Greater Enon Missionary Baptist Church in McKenzie Thursday, August 25, with burial in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McKenzie was born March 12, 1926, in Trezevant, to the late Dink Adkisson and Essie Hampton Adkisson. She was a life insurance agent for many years and was a member of Greater Enon Missionary Baptist Church. She was married to the late Norman McKenzie.
She is survived by two daughters: Eunice Penn of McKenzie and Mary J. (Bobby) Fentroy of Phoenix, Arizona; three sons: James Edward (Annie) of Detroit, Michigan, James Penn (LaToria) of Murfreesboro, and Norman Jr. of Detroit, Michigan; five grandchildren, five step-children, one great-grandson; four sisters: Daisy Jones of Trezevant, Georgia (Jim) Boone of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Cora Thomas of Huntingdon, and Mattie (Charles) Copeland of McKenzie; three brothers: James Adkisson and Dink Adkisson of Trezevant, and H.B. Adkisson of McKenzie.

Mary Emaline McCaslin
1921-2005
GREENFIELD - Mary Emaline McCaslin, 84, of Greenfield, died August 23 at McKenzie Health Care Center. She was born February 28, 1921, to the late John Know and Ethel Bell.
Services were conducted August 25 in Williams Funeral Home chapel with burial at Davidson Chapel cemetery. The service was officiated by Jerry Crouse of Dyer and Gene Rollins of Bradford.
Mrs. McCaslin was a factory worker. She attended Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by three daughters: Linda Davis of McKenzie, Rose Brummitt of Bartlett, and Kay Allen of Huntingdon; one son, Donnie McCaslin of Trenton; one sister, Elsie Harrison of Bradford; one brother, David Knott of Greenfield; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Etho McCaslin.

Donald William Balentine
1956-2005
HOLLOW ROCK - Mr. Donald William Balentine, 48, of Hollow Rock, died Monday, August 8, at the Henry County Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, August 11, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment icon followed in the Hebron cemetery.
Mr. Balentine was born November 27, 1956, in Rockford, Illinois, to William Lee Balentine and the late Margaret Laverne (Bryant) Balentine. He was a construction worker for Barstow Construction.
He is survived by his father, William Lee Balentine; special friend Melina Williams; two step-daughters, Kaitlyn Williams and Tracy Mitchell; three step-sons, Jacob Williams, Jason Mitchell, and Chris Mitchell; five sisters, Patsy (Grant) Willis, of Bruceton, Kay (Bruce) Grooms of Hollow Rock, Regina Lowe of Buena Vista, Brenda Williams of McKenzie, and Mary Balentine of Bruceton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Jo Ann Cravens Houston
1934-2005
PARIS - Mrs. Jo Ann Cravens Houston, 70, of Paris, died Thursday, August 4, at her daughter's home in McKenzie. Funeral services for Mrs. Houston were held Saturday, August 6, at 2:00 p.m., at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel in Gleason. Burial followed in Hopewell cemetery. The Rev. Vance Rushing officiated the services.
Mrs. Houston was a department store clerk and a member of the Gleason Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was born November 19, 1934, in Gleason, to the late Joe Huey and Maggie Lois Heath Crocker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Houston was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Houston.
She is survived by two sons, Tony Patton of Eureka, Missouri, and Tim Patton of Gleason; a daughter, Vickie Crocker of McKenzie; a brother, Terry Cravens of McKenzie; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

MARTHA SUE GOODMAN
1917-2006
PARIS - Martha Sue Goodman, 88, of Paris died Monday, August 7, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Graveside services were conducted Friday, August 11, in Murray City cemetery in Murray with Joe Walker officiating.
She was born October 20, 1917 in Murray to the late William Sandy Purdom and Hallie Farmer Purdom. She was a former Henry County School System assistant librarian, a member of Paris-Henry County Retired Teachers Association, and a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Samuel A. Goodman, Sr.
Survivors include: sons Samuel A. "Sam" (Judy) Goodman, Jr. of Huntingdon and Edd Lee (Martha) Goodman of Camden; daughter Joe Ann (Mike) Sullivan of Highland, IL; sister Catherine Purdom of Murray; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to: Paris-Henry County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship Fund, c/o Shirley Casey; 401 Corbin Street; Paris, TN 38242.
Ridgeway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

BILLY M. CRUM
1930-2006
CLARKSBURG - Billy Marion Crum, 75, of Clarksburg died Monday, August 7, at his home. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, August 9 at Chase Funeral Home in Huntingdon with Bro. Billy Ringold and Bro. Martin Klamm officiating. Interment icon followed in Seller's Hill cemetery.
He was born December 17, 1930 in Carroll County to the late Joe Troy Crum and Louisa Rolene (Bennett) Crum. He was active in Clarksburg Schools from 1959-1975, serving as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. He also served as the Carroll County Superintendent from 1984-1992. He joined the Ruritans in 1959 and was a charter member of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, of which he twice served on the Board of Directors. He remained active on the Library Board, was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran, and a member of Clarksburg Church of Christ.
Survivors include: his wife of 54 years, Annie Lee (Wall) Crum; two daughters, Susan (John) Sloan of Clarksburg and Kendra (Quinn) Anderson of Lexington; one sister, Bonnie Humphrey of Clarksburg; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Dakota Garner, Dallas Pollock, and Alyssa Pollock; and several nieces and nephews.

CHARLES "CHARLIE" WHITEHEAD
CEDAR GROVE - Charles "Charlie" Whitehead, 75, of Cedar Grove died Tuesday, August 8, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, August 10 at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan. Burial followed in Lexington City cemetery.
He was a retired mechanic, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a member of First Assembly of God church in Milan. Survivors include: his wife, Thelma Whitehead of Cedar Grove; one daughter, Linda Cottage of Memphis; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to First Assembly of God Church Building Fund.

BURLEAN SPENCER SHAW
1935-2006
HUNTINGDON - Burlean Spencer Shaw, 70, of Huntingdon died Wednesday, August 9, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, August 12 at Chase Funeral Home in Huntingdon with Bro. Rufus Chandler officiating. Interment icon followed in Clarksburg cemetery.
She was born December 19, 1935 in Adamsville to the late Charlie and Mary Edna (Adams) Spencer. She was a retired seamstress for the Duck Head Corporation and a member of the Solid Rock Ministries Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband William Millard Shaw. Survivors include: one son, Johnny (Lena) Crafton of Huntingdon; two daughters, Penny (Clay) Fuzzell of Hollow Rock and Mary Sue Killion of Union City; seven sisters, Mattie Davis, Connie Carrell, and Katie Stewart, all of Hickman, KY, Barbara Tacker of Fancy Farm, KY, Sue Parker of Tiptonville, and Mary Railey and Shirley Novak, both of Paducah, KY; two brothers, Charles Elmer Spencer of Union City and Jack Richard Spencer of Alaska; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

GARNETTE WILLIAMS VAUGHN
1922-2006
McKENZIE - Garnette Williams Vaughn, 84, of McKenzie died Friday, August 11, at McKenzie Regional Hospital in McKenzie. Funeral services were Sunday, August 13, 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Burial was in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
She was born March 22, 1922 to the late Lee Edwards and Nola Brawner Edwards. She was retired from McKenzie Pajama Factory.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; two spouses, Ambris Vaughn and Edwin Williams; one brother, Fred Edwards; three sisters, Esteen Kennon, Myrtle Hobbs, and Ruby Horn; and one grandson.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carol (Rudy) Hamby of McKenzie and Linda Williams (Don) Joyner of Caven Rock, IL; two sons, Stanley (Janice) Williams of Trezevant and Steve Williams of Palm Springs, CA; and five grandchildren.
