Louella Strayhorn
NASHVILLE - Louella Strayhorn of Nashville, formerly of McKenzie, died Tuesday, January 4 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville following an extended illness.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Milton P. Strayhorn; one son, Phillip M. Strayhorn of West Covina, California; one daughter, Donnetta Butler, Sr. of Nashville; sisters, Katie Olgetree of Cleveland, Ohio, Blanche Woods of St. Paul, Minnesota; grandsons, George E. Butler, Jr. of Sylacauga, Alabama, Stephen Sean Butler of Nashville; and two granddaughters, Camille Strayhorn and Kristen Strayhorn. Another local survivor includes a brother-in-law, Odell Pate of McKenzie.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 9, at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church in Nashville at 4:00 p.m. Interment icon was Monday, January 10, at 11:00 a.m., Middle Tennessee Veterans cemetery, Nashville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Golena Puckett Scholarship Fund, c/o Reverend James Stewart, 103 Meadow Wood Drive, McKenzie 38201 or The Christ Fund at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, 1209 9th Avenue North, Nashville, 37208.
Lewis and Wright Funeral Director had charge.

Charles Andrew Smothers
1915-2005
Charles Andrew Smothers, 90, died January 8 after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, January 11, at noon at Dilday Funeral Home East Visitation Room. Interment icon followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens. Brother Fred Ward officiated the services.
He was born in Benton County in October 1915, to the late Sebe and Sally Smothers. He is survived by a son, Jerry Dale Smothers; two grandsons, and two great grandsons; a sister, Hazel Thomas, and a brother, Leo Smothers, both of Huntingdon. Charles was preceded in death by a brother J.L. and sister, Verlya Wilkes. Two children preceded him in death, Larry Randall Smothers and Charlene Smothers.

Bob "Del" Delcoure
1931-2005
LAVINIA - Funeral services for Bob "Del" Delcoure, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, at Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. David LaNeave officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood cemetery.
Mr. Delcoure, a retired employee of Lubrizol Corp., Deer Park, Texas, died Sunday, January 9, at his son's residence in Lavinia. He was a member of Immanual Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas where he served as a church council member and an usher. He was also a mason, serving as a 50-year member of the Conroe Masonic Lodge #748 in Conroe, Texas and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Estella Delcoure of Lavinia; one son, Ray Goehring of Lavinia; one daughter, Barbara Hollis of Brenham, Texas; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund or Immanual Lutheran Church Building Fund, Brenham, Texas.
Bodkin Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge.

Louise Dillahunty
1927-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Louise Bell Dillahunty, 77, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 13, at Brummitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Henry County.
Mrs. Dillahunty, a retired S.S. Garment Company employee, died Monday, January 10, at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born December 18, 1927 in Gibson County to the late James V. Taylor and Ollie B. Taylor Allen. She was a member of First Baptist Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include a son, Payton (Becky) Dillahunty of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Diane (Dennis) Barton and Melinda Dillahunty, both of McKenzie; five grandchildren, Nicholas (Wendy) Barton, Chase Barton, Ashlee Dillahunty, Conner Dillahunty and Tyler Dillahunty; and one great-grandchild, Andrew Barton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben M. Dillahunty, and two sisters, Mildred Harris and Melinda Dillahunty.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 12, 3:30 until 9 p.m.

Rev. George Robert Williams, Sr.
1918-2003
PARIS - Services for Rev. George Robert Williams, Sr., 85, were on Sunday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Progressive Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Tipton officiating. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery with Trinity Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Rev. Williams died on Wednesday, September 24 at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
He was born February 26, 1918 in Nashville to the late Jesse Williams and Hannah Williams. His only son, George R. Williams, Jr. preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Fisk University, the American Baptist Theological Seminary in Nashville and pastor of the Progressive Baptist Church. He was past president of the Ministerial Alliance and previously pastored the First Baptist Church of Toronto, Canada.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Anderson Williams; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Woodrow Wilson Young
1916-2003
McKENZIE - Services for Woodrow Wilson Young, 87, were at 2:30 p.m., Monday, September 29 at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Tony Janner and Bro. Vance Rushing officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
He was born in Weakley County on July 4, 1916 to the late Ada Fuzzell and Luther Young. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and McKenzie Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include his wife, Blondell Parham Young; one son, Lowell Wilson Young and two daughters, Dianne Harris and Debbie Burnine, all of McKenzie; one grandchild, Kevin Burnine and four great-grandchildren, Taylor Burnine, Abby Burnine, Hannah Harris and Patrick Harris. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Keith Harris and one great-grandson, Peyton Edward Burnine.

Jane Walker
1926-2003
HUNTINGDON - Ms. Jane Walker, 77, died on Sunday, September 28 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, September 30 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Martin Klamm and Bro. Bill Crossno officiating. Interment icon followed in the Sellers Hill cemetery.
Ms. Walker was born January 23, 1926 in Carroll County to the late Levi Priest and Lula Marie Utley Walker. She was a retired seamstress for the Publix Shirt Corporation and a member of the Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Elizabeth Hester, Mary Catherine Hilliard and Virginia Priestly Walker; and two brothers, Ben Thomas Walker and James Ray Walker.
Survivors include one son, Joe Walker of Huntingdon; two sisters, Marvonell Milam of Huntingdon and Martha Sue Brewer of Paris; three brothers, Robert Earl Walker of Huntingdon, William Harold Walker of Madison and Sidney Lee Walker of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

James W. "Fibber" McGee
1921-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mr. James W. "Fibber" McGee, 82, died on Sunday, September 28 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, September 30 at 3:00 p.m. in the First Pentecostal Church in Huntingdon with Bro. Kenneth Dyson, Bro. John Columbus and Bro. Larry DePriest officiating. Interment icon followed in the Palmer Shelter cemetery.
Mr. McGee was born May 7, 1921 in Benton County to the late Walter and Ethel Hooper McGee. He was a retired fireman for the Town of Huntingdon, a World War II army veteran and a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Huntingdon. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Boswell and Freda Bennett and five brothers, Dalton Walker, Leverett Walker, Hooper Walker, Bert Walker and Ronald McGee.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Willodean Mann McGee; one daughter, Diann Edwards of Huntingdon; four sons, Jerry McGee, Jimmy McGee, Ricky McGee, all of Huntingdon and Billy H. McGee of McKenzie; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Raymond Jackson Rich, Sr.
1924-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Raymond Jackson Rich, Sr. died on Tuesday, September 23, at his home. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Johnny Boyd officiating. Interment icon followed in the Bethel cemetery.
Mr. Rich was born February 28, 1924 in Huntingdon to the late Clarence Jackson and Maggie Bell Tosh Rich. He was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Tessie Byars; two granddaughters, Tammy Rich and Tracy Wilson; three brothers, Ray Rich, C.J. Rich and Billy Rich and one sister, Johnnie Beal.
Survivors include his wife, Della Marie Smith Rich; one daughter, Debby Williams of Huntingdon; three sons, Raymond Rich of White Bluff, Jimmy Rich of Stanton and Dennis Rich of Huntingdon; five brothers, Coy Rich of McKenzie and Paul "Dickie" Rich, Gaylon Rich, Garlon Rich and Don Rich, all of Huntingdon; four sisters, Ruth Johnson, Francis Carter and Peggy Pruitt, all of Huntingdon and Faye Chandler of Savannah; nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Peggie Ann Roberts
1933-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Peggie Ann Roberts, 70, died Thursday, September 25 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Burton officiating. Interment icon followed at the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Roberts was born July 22, 1933 in Kentucky to the late Clarence and Mary Ann Sims McKeever. She was a homemaker and a member of the Faith in Christ Church. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Donald McKeever, Beverage McKeever; two sisters, Sue Swan and Judy Hone and one grandson, Joey Roberts.
Survivors include five daughters, Judy Prince of McLemoresville, Rilla Vann of Florida, Roberta Garrison of Alabama, Nancy Brewer of Ohio and Linda Whitman of Michigan; one son, Howard Roberts; one sister, Betty Underwood and one brother, Ronald McKeever, all of Michigan; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Edd Dudley, Jr.
1952-2003
LINDER, VIRGINIA: Graveside services for Edd Dudley, Jr., 51, were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27 in Shiloh cemetery in McKenzie. Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Dudley died on Saturday, September 20, in a car accident in Washington, D.C.
He was born January 10, 1952 in McKenzie. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his mother, Cleo Haynes; a daughter, Tiffony Dudley of Capitol Heights, Maryland; a brother, George Dudley of McKenzie; and many other relatives.

Wayne Bell
1944-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Wayne Bell, 59, died Wednesday, September 24 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Robert White officiating. Interment icon followed in the Bethlehem cemetery.
Mr. Bell was born February 7, 1944 in Benton County to the late Felix and Myrtle Noles Bell. He was a retired sawmill worker for Hollingsworth Sawmill and a member of the Hebron Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Bell and Wilburn Bell and a sister, Opal Pruett.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Bell; a son, Timothy W. Bell of Huntingdon; a daughter, Tina L. Baker of Hollow Rock; a brother, Roger D. Bell of Huntingdon; two sisters, Blondell Seiber of Huntingdon and Brenda Bell of Milan and two grandchildren.

Barbara Thompson
1942-2003
SPRINGVILLE - Services for Barbara Thompson, 61, of Elkhorn Road were planned for 12:00 noon, Tuesday, September 30 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dwight Turner and Steve Gallimore officiating. Burial followed in the Thompson family cemetery at Springville.
She was born on March 28, 1942 in Paris, the daughter of James M. and Anne Francis Hasting Sanders, who lived in Big Sandy. She was married April 1, 1961 to Jerry D. Thompson, who survives. She was a homemaker and member of the New Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors also include two daughters, Laura Dougherty of Buchanan and Susan Beltz of Crum; one son, Steve Thompson of Springville; one sister, Margaret Corbitt of Bruceton; two brothers, Larry Sanders and Jimmy Sanders, both of Chardon, Ohio and six grandchildren.
