David Perry Worley
1921-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mr. David Perry Worley, 81, died on Thursday, January 23 at his home. The family will have a private funeral ceremony at a later date. \
Mr. Worley was born on August 8, 1921 in East Arura, New York to the late George Russell and Grave Evans Worley. He was retired from the U.S. Forestry Division, a professor at Penn State University at one time and was a World War II army veteran. His wife, Eleanor McCauley Worley, who died October 24, 1998, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Cathrine A. Randall of Charlottesville, Virginia; one son, David W. Worley of Huntingdon and two grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

John Fred Barger
1920-2003
CEDAR GROVE - Mr. John F. Barger, 82, died on Tuesday, January 21 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, January 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe Shafer officiating. Interment icon followed in the Seventh Day Adventist cemetery.
Mr. Barger was born on November 18, 1920 in Carroll County to the late Luther and Maude Gallimore Barger. He was a retired logger and loved to deal with horses. Five brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Nolene Kelly Barger, three daughters, Carolyn Breeden and Kathy Butler, both of Cedar Grove and Brenda Pearson of Huntingdon; two sisters, May Henry Gooch of Yuma and Mary Nell Cole of Lavinia; one brother, Bobby Barger of Lavinia; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Harold McKee
1936-2003
JACKSON - Mr. Harold McKee, 66, died on Tuesday, January 21 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, January 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Tillery officiating. Interment icon followed in the New Hope cemetery.
Mr. McKee was born March 6, 1936 in Henderson County to the late Norman and Alexia Potete McKee. He was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church, a retired meat cutter for Town & Country Grocery, an avid fisherman and quail hunter and served in the National Guard in Lexington. One sister, Agnes McKee also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jean Gooch McKee; one brother, Don McKee of Cedar Grove and two nephews.

Jeremy Shawne Ellis
1978-2002
CORDOVA: Mr. Jeremy Shawne Ellis, 24, formerly of Huntingdon, died Sunday, January 26 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 29 at 1:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Kenneth Stapleton officiating. Interment icon will follow at Davis Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Ellis was born on February 11, 1978 in Madison County. He was a car salesman for World Rental Car Sales. He graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1996 and served four years with the United States Marine Corps. His paternal grandfather, Tyler Ellis and his maternal grandfather, William Bolen both preceded him in death.
Survivors include his father, Jimmy Ellis of Huntingdon; his mother and stepfather, Jennifer and Eddie Oakley of Lake Cormorant, Mississippi, his fiance', Marsha Briggs of Cordova; one daughter, Alli Ellis of Bruceton, his paternal grandmother Fay Ellis of Huntingdon and maternal grandmother, Joan Bolen of Clarksburg; and two brothers, Chris Lewis and Marcus Lewis, both of Huntingdon.

Jimmy Hudson
1946-2003
MEMPHIS - Services for Jimmy Hudson, 56, were at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18 at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Jim Roberts officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Hudson died on Wednesday, January 15 at his residence.
He was born July 11, 1946 in McKenzie.
Survivors include his father, Charles Hudson, Jr. and stepmother, Kelly Hudson of Milan, a brother, Jerry Hudson and sister, Wanda Hudson, both of McKenzie.

Larry Bost
1927-2003
ATWOOD - Services for Larry Bost, 75, of Jefferson City, formerly of Atwood, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18 at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial in the Pisgah cemetery in Atwood.
Mr. Bost, retired manager of Con-Agra Food Company, died on Tuesday, January 14 at his residence.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bolivar and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Betty S. Bost; two sons, William Bruce Bost of Rutledge and Larry Bost of Bloomingdale, Illinois; four daughters, Jane Weller of Danville, Illinois; Teri Overman of Crawfordsville, Indiana; Cathy MacDougall of Glendale Heights, Illinois and Tina Gabbard of Williamsport, Indiana; two sisters, Ann Eichler and Doris Browder, both of Jackson and three grandchildren.

Ruth Bayless Maddox
1912-2003
BRUCETON - Mrs. Ruth Bayless Maddox, 90, died on Wednesday, January 15 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Interment icon followed in the Prospect cemetery.
Mrs. Maddox was born on April 13, 1912 in Bruceton to the late Henry Porter and Edith Priestley Taylor Bayless. She was a homemaker, a member of the Bruceton First Baptist Church, and lived most of her life in Bruceton. Her husband, Thomas Reed Maddox, who died January 30, 1976; two brothers, Porter Bayless and Jim Bayless and one grandson, Thomas Edward Engles, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam Maddox Butler of Buena Vista and Betsy Maddox Engles of Springdale, Arkansas; four sisters, Rosa Hammond of Memphis, Virginia Moore of Stephens City, Virginia, Edna Herring of Sheffield, Alabama and Caroline Cahoon of Oldsmar, Florida; one brother, Dick Bayless of Bruceton; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Maxine Williams
1929-2003
PARIS - Services for Maxine Williams, 73, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 19 at McEvoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Glen Elliott and Alan Trull officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest cemetery.
Mrs. Williams died on Thursday, January 16 at her residence. She was born October 1, 1929 in Henry County to the late Ervin Clayton and Gertie Canady Clayton. She and her husband were co-owners of Lewis and Williams Market for 23 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, J.C. Williams; a daughter, Rita Lewis of Henry; a brother, Tommye Clayton of Paris; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A son, Jimmy Darrell Williams preceded her in death.

Hester V. Lipps
1916-2003
PARIS - Services for Hester V. Lipps, 87, were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 24 at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris with Rev. Jerry Drye and Rev. Bud Merwin officiating. Burial followed in the Maplewood cemetery.
Mrs. Lipps, a hospital sitter and nurse's assistant, died Monday, December 22 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born, March 11, 1916 in Henry to the late Gus and Bennie Bell Baker. She was a member of the Henry Baptist Church and served as treasurer for a number of years. She was the co-owner of Lipps Seed Company and was involved in the production of AK-KWIK for many years. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Lipps and two brothers, Sam Baker and James 'Shorty' Baker.
Survivors include a daughter, Glenda A. Lipps, a Henry County native; a son, Joe B. Lipps of Sikeston, Missouri and two grandchildren.

Charlie Valcum Scott
1912-2003
TREZEVANT - Services for Charlie Valcum Scott, 91, were held on Monday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant with Bro. Jimmy Yarbrough officiating. Interment icon followed in Pilgrim's Rest cemetery in McKenzie.
Mr. Scott, a retired factory worker, died at Milan Regional Hospital on Friday, December 26.
He was born November 16, 1912 in Carroll County to the late Sudie Hood Scott and Luther Scott. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Earline Scott. Mr. Scott was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include one son, Johnny Scott of Trezevant, one daughter, Debbie Hammett of Milan; one brother, Cecil Scott of Trezevant; one sister, Frances Nell King of Huntingdon; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Robert Aubrey 'Duck' Edmonston
1909-2003
GLEASON - Services for Robert Aubrey 'Duck' Edmonston, 94, were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27 at the Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Jeffers officiating. Interment icon followed at Hopewell cemetery.
Mr. Edmonston, a retired farmer, died on Wednesday, December 24 at the Martin Volunteer Community Hospital.
Hew was born in Gleason on April 3, 1909 to the late Ira Cleveland and Maude Hortense Clark Edmonston. He was also preceded in death by two wives, Mary Juanita Howard Edmonston and Mary O. Trevillian Edmonston and one brother, Roy Edmonston.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Taylor of Gleason and Suzette Wade of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Leron Ethel Jones
1912-2003
GLEASON - Services for Leron Ethel Jones, 91, were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 23 at the Seminary Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Pence officiating. Interment icon followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Jones, a homemaker, died on Sunday, December 21 in Martin at the Volunteer Community Hospital.
She was born on October 30, 1912 in Milan to the late J.R. and Callie Harris Stiller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oval Jones. She was a member of Seminary Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Bobby Jones of Trenton; one daughter, Betty Freeman of Gleason, six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Elijah Huston Harris
1913-2003
GLEASON - Services for Elijah Huston Harris, 90, were held on Tuesday, December 16 at the Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vance Rushing officiating. Interment icon followed in Sandhill cemetery.
Mr. Harris, disabled and retired from Bell Clay Company, died on Sunday, December 14 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
He was born on November 4, 1913 in Gleason to the late Ben and Lula Hodges Harris.
Survivors include his wife, Nannie Mae Tegethoff Harris; two sons, Charles Harris of Somerville and Jerry Harris of McKenzie; two stepsons, Thomas Burke of Gleason and Larry Burke of McKenzie; two daughters, Linda Lowe of Greer, South Carolina and Wanda Jackson of Dresden; one stepdaughter, Martha Burke of McKenzie; one brother, Donald Harris of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; three sisters, Virginia Ward, Lorenda Groce and Ruby Moon, all of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
