CEDAR GROVE - Services for Mrs. Clara M. McKee, 84, were Sunday, June 22 at 4:00 p.m. at Reed's Chapel in Lexington with John Mustain officiating. Burial followed in the Bargerton Church of Christ cemetery. Mrs. McKee died June 20 at her home.
Mrs. McKee is survived by five daughters, Sandra Kay Morris, Marcia McNatt, Melda Mills, all of Lexington, Robbie Morrissett of Cedar Grove and Reba Pruitt of Wildersville; one son, Jerry McKee of Lexington; two sisters, Edna Peterson and Dorothy Perry, both of Yuma; one brother, Howell Pendergrass of Yuma; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. McKee and one daughter, Mary Patterson.
Mattie Enzor

ATWOOD - Services for Mattie Enzor, 100, were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22 at First United Methodist Church with burial in the Pisgah cemetery.
Mrs. Enzor died on Friday, June 20 at Covington Care Center.
She was born on August 22, 1902 to the late Milton and Elnora Walker Mann. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Atwood.
Survivors include three daughters, Louise Daniels and Rachel Fuller, both of Atwood and Naomi McDade of Covington; one son, William Bryan Enzor of Covington; one sister, Flossie Cook of Atwood; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charlie Enzor.
The family requests memorials be directed to either the First United Methodist Church in Atwood or the First United Methodist Church of Covington.
Bodkin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Billie Reba Nolen
1927-2003
EAST PEORIA, ILLINOIS: Billie Reba Nolen, 76, died on Thursday, June 19 at Manorcare at Riverview in East Peoria. Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 23 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with the Rev. Gary England officiating. Burial was in the Roberts cemetery in Morton, Illinois.
She was born January 17, 1927 in Benton County to Graydon B. and Velma A. Jordan Odle. She married
Vibert H. Nolen in Corinth, Mississippi on June 29, 1946. He died in Peoria on October 12, 1990.
She worked in food service at Caterpillar, Inc. and retired in 1981. She volunteered at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria from 1990 until 2003. She was a member of the Richland Southern Baptist Church in East Peoria.
Survivors include one daughter, Dawn M. Bender of Worth, Illinois; one sister, Sue Ann Lewis of Yuma and several nieces and nephews.
Bennie Mae Thomas

ATWOOD - Services for Bennie Mae Thomas, 95, were at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18 at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery near Lexington. She was the widow of B.F. 'Buck' Thomas and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Wyer.
Mrs. Thomas died Saturday, June 14 at Douglas Nursing Home. She was a member of the Howse Baptist Church in Atwood.
Survivors include a son, Finis Thomas of Atwood; three daughters, Lavern Eason of Lexington, Mary Butler of Horn Lake, Mississippi and Geninda Speer of Atwood; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Annie B. McCartney
1911-2003
GLEASON - Services for Annie B. McCartney, 92, were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 19 at Gallimore Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Roberts and Bro. Kenneth Edwards officiating. Burial was in Pleasant View cemetery.
Mrs. McCartney died Tuesday, June 17 at her home.
She was born March 2, 1911 in Fairview to the late Ervin Luther and Lena McPherson. She was a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Mona Lue Holt and Wanda Lue Laster, both of Bradford and Violet Jeanette Clark of Gleason; a son, J.B. McCartney of Trenton; a brother, Leon Billops of Humboldt; four sisters, Reathie Ramsey and Anie May Billops, both of Humboldt, Mary Mat Altman of Union City and Edna Lee McCartney of Bradford; six grandchildren and one step-grandchild; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harold McCartney; two sisters, Aultie Nails and Lallie Neil and a brother, Bobby Billops.
Kathy H. Townsend
1955-2003
PARIS - Services for Kathy Heath Townsend were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22 at the First Baptist Church where she was a member, with Bro. Jerry W. Massey officiating. Burial was in Memorial cemetery.
Mrs. Townsend, 48, died Wednesday, June 18 at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis following a stroke.
Born in Paris on May 2, 1955, she was the daughter of Aline Henderson Burnette of Paris and the late Floyd E. Burnette, Sr.
She was married
on March 28, 1992 to Chris Townsend, who survives.
Mrs. Townsend received a bachelor's degree in nursing in 1982 from Murray State University. She was a former teacher in the Neese Technology Center nursing program where she was serving on the licensed practical nurse advisory board at the time of her death.
As a former director of nursing at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie, she received the Continuous Improvement Process Team Leader Award from Methodist Health Systems in 1995. She also formerly worked for HCMC Home Health.
At her death, she was the nursing director of surgical services at HCMC, where she had worked for seven years. She was also the 2001 Department Manager of the Year at HCMC. Mrs. Townsend was a member of the Tennessee Organization of Nurse Executives and Sigma Theta Tau honor society of nursing.
She received the 1996 Carroll County Leadership Award and the Alumnus of the Year Award in 1995 from Neese Technology.
In addition to her husband and mother, she leaves two daughters, Holly Heath and Hailey Townsend, both of Paris; one son, Taylor Townsend of Paris; four sisters, Sue Madden, Pat Jackson and Judy Corwyn, all of Paris and Nelda Adkins of Springville; one brother, Raythel Burnette of North Carolina.
She was also preceded in death by twin children, Matthew and Megan Heath; two brothers, Floyd E. Burnette, Jr. and Jimmy Burnette.
Donations may be made to the Kathy Townsend Memorial Scholarship, c/o Henry County Medical Center, Attn: Nursing Administration, 301 Tyson Avenue, Paris. The fund is intended for a nursing student at Murray State University, who is seeking to become a registered nurse. Donations may also be made to the Neese Technology Center, Attn: Patsy Howard, 312 S. Wilson Street, Paris. Funds are meant to help a Henry County nursing student.
Alean Argo

McKENZIE - Services for Alene Argo, 88, were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 24 at the McKenzie Church of Christ with Bro. John Forgy and Bro. Kenneth Edwards officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Argo died Sunday, June 22 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born July 20, 1914 in Mississippi to the late Mattie Thomas and Obe Thomas. She was a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Lindell Argo, a son, Charles (Catherine) Argo of McKenzie; a daughter, Joan (Bill) Brown of McKenzie; a niece, Evelyn Vawter of McKenzie; three grandsons, Mike Brown, Ellen Argo and Susan A. Reynolds and three great-grandchildren, Chad Brown, Beau Brown, and Drew Brown.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Arzo and Gene Thomas and two sisters, Verdie Hollowell and Ester Beasley.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Barton Mebane Hayes

NASHVILLE:A Mr. Barton Mebane Hayes, formerly of Huntingdon, died on Sunday, June 22 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 25 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William P. Bailey officiating. Interment
will follow in the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hayes, 64, was born November 15, 1938 in Huntingdon to the late Harold and Elenor Mebane Hayes. He was a retired pharmacist for Kmart Pharmacy.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet Davis, one son, Alan Barton Hayes, both of Johnson City; one sister, Karon Clark of Memphis and three grandchildren.
Bobby Gene McGuire

HUNTINGDON - Mr. Bobby Gene McGuire, 65, died Saturday, June 21 in Newton, Iowa. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 25 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Mackens and Bro. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Interment
will follow in the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. McGuire was born October 9, 1937 in Kellyville, Oklahoma. He was a retired conductor for CSX Railroad Company, an army veteran, and a Methodist by belief. His father, Leon McGuire preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Martha Walton McGuire, his mother Denzyl McGuire of Depew, Oklahoma; one daughter, Marty French of Bruceton; two sons, Jerry McGuire of Bruceton and Larry McGuire of Cumberland Furnace; one sister, Trela McKinzie of Depew, Oklahoma; two brothers, Leon McGuire of Kellyville, Oklahoma and Richard McGuire of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Malcolm Pendergrass, Sr.

HUNTINGDON - Mr. William Malcolm Pendergrass, Sr., 90, died on Tuesday, December 31 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Carter officiating. Interment
followed in the Humbles cemetery.
Mr. Pendergrass was born March 1, 1912 in Carroll County to the late Fred and Della Allison Pendergrass. He was a retired inspector for the Milan Arsenal. His wife, Lucille Pendergrass, who died on June 28, 1996, a sister, Mable Wilson and a brother, Homer Pendergrass, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, William Malcolm Pendergrass, Jr. of Huntingdon; two brothers, Ross Pendergrass of Huntingdon and James Pendergrass of Dickson; and two grandsons.
Ruth L. Pillow

Mrs. Pillow was born on January 1, 1921 in Milan to the late Dennis Claude and Ottis Griffin Davenport. She was a homemaker and a member of the Free Will Mission Church. Her husband, Robert G. Pillow, who passed away on March 20, 1975, one daughter, Wanda Gail Green and a son, Michael Ray Pillow; four brothers, and one sister, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Bobbie Connell; one son, James "Jim" Pillow, both of Atwood; one sister, Jewell Hayes of Bradford; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
