Willie D. "Bill" Baker
1923-2005
PARIS - Services for Willie D. "Bill" Baker, 81, was conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 25, at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Gary Collier officiating. Interment icon followed in Memorial cemetery.
Mr. Baker, a truck driver, died Friday, July 22, at Henry County Medical Center.
He was born December 3, 1923, in Gleason, to the late Dee and Zelma Polk Baker. He was a truck driver for 33 years for Gaines Manufacturing Company and for J.R. Hayes Construction in Henry County. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater, including Iwo Jima.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lemonds Baker, and four cousins.

Frances Ellen Becky Brooks
1934-2005
McKENZIE - Services for Frances Brooks, 71, were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 1, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Huntingdon, with Father Edward Fisher and Father John Pecoraro officiating. Interment icon followed at Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Brooks, a homemaker, died Friday, July 29, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born January 22, 1934, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, to the late Arthur J. and Mina Rossen Becky. Mrs. Frances was a former Brownie Scout Leader, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Franciscan Sisters of the Catholic Church.
She was the wife of William Clinton "Bill" Brooks and the mother of Larry Brooks, Amanda (Kenny) Epperson of Kennesaw, Georgia, Sir Wyatt (Joan) Brooks of McKenzie, Lee (Tom) Gray of Como, and Ann Brooks-Morgan of McKenzie. Her sister in heart is Barbara Singleton of Memphis and she had 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Benny Wade Keymon
1951-2005
ATWOOD - Services for Benny Wade Keymon, 53, were conducted Sunday, July 31, at 2:00 p.m. in the Valley Community Church in Camden with Brother Bobby Jackson and Brother John Weathers officiating. Interment icon followed in the House of Prayer cemetery.
Mr. Keymon died Thursday, July 28, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 28, 1951, in Parsons, to the late Clyde and Mary Marie Conway Keymon. He was a self-employed painter and a former pastor of the Valley Community Church and was ordained at Free Will Mission Church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Keymon; a daughter, Denise Chaney, and a son, Stephen Keymon, both of Atwood; three sisters, Betty Lou Browning of Huntingdon, Barbara Ann Reynolds of Sharon, and Debbie Stanford of Greenfield; three brothers, Hollis Keymon of Darden, Howard Keymon of Bradford, and Billy Ray Keymon of Greenfield; and four grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ella Ruth Bolton-Champaign
1939-2005
URBANA, ILLINOIS: Services for Ella Ruth Bolton-Champaign, 66, were conducted Saturday, July 23, in Champaign, Illinois.
A former resident of McLemoresville, Mrs. Bolton-Champaign died Tuesday, July 19.
She was born April 13, 1939, to the late Dossie and Ella Hunt. She was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Champaign.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Champaign; two daughters, Wanda (Pastor Denny) Davis and Tracy (Jay) Moss of Texas; four grandchildren, Kandis, Dwight, Destiny and Brandi; three god-children; two sisters, Doris and Jewel of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Booker (Arlene) Bolton of Chicago, Illinois, and a host of relatives and friends.

Lula Mae Arnold
1928-2005
GLEASON - Lula Mae Arnold, 77, died Sunday, November 13, at McKenzie Health Care. Funeral services were conducted November 15 at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Dan Bullock and Mike Jeffers officiating. Interment icon followed in New Valley cemetery.
Mrs. Arnold was born April 13, 1928, to the late David and Ora Perry Anderson. She was a homemaker with the Weakley County Office on Aging and a member of New Valley Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Hershal Arnold; three daughters: Bonnie Bullock of Dresden, Connie Beasley of McKenzie, and Kim Heaberlin of Nolansville; one brother, Robert Anderson of Gleason; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Thelma Mae Kirby
1917-2005
HUNTINGDON - Thelma Kirby, 88, died Friday, November 11, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted November 13 in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Sellers officiating. Interment icon followed in the New Liberty cemetery.
Mrs. Kirby was born April 17, 1917, in Carroll County, to the late Eldon Henry Thomsen and Nona Leona (Tosh) Thomsen. She was a homemaker, a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ, and a 1935 graduate of McLemoresville School.
She was preceded in death by her husband Garver Kirby; one brother, Garvin Thomsen; and one sister, Ardelle Mann.
She is survived by one daughter, Loretta (Edward) Harris and one son, Jerry (Dianna) Kirby, all of Huntingdon; two brothers, John Thomsen of Huntingdon and Harold Thomsen of Collegedale; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

James "Dino" Thero Hartsfield Sr.
1939-2005
HOLLOW ROCK - James "Dino" Thero Hartsfield Sr., 66, died Thursday, November 10, at his residence. Funeral services were conducted November 13 at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Hollow Rock with Rev. Wallace Cunningham officiating. Interment icon was in Mt. Nebo-Pisgah cemetery near Hollow Rock.
Mr. Hartsfield was born September 10, 1939, in Cowan, to the late George Lomax and Irene Manuel Hartsfield. He was a retired machinist, a Vietnam War veteran, a former alderman and vice mayor of Hollow Rock, and a member of the Bruceton Lions Club. He was chairman of the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Board of Deacons and a Sunday school teacher.
He is survived by two daughters: Helena Hartsfield of Landover, Maryland, and Althea Hartsfield of Nashville; four sons: Benjamin Hartsfield of Cordova, Joseph Hartsfield of Memphis, James Hartsfield of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Kyle Hartsfield of Memphis; one sister, Teresa Calhoun of Alabama; one brother, Charles Brazier of California; and two grandchildren.
Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements

Doy Stewart
1928-2005
MEMPHIS - Doy Stewart, 77, died Thursday, November 10, at her home following a short illness. Funeral services were conducted November 12 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church with interment icon at Stephenson's Chapel.
Mrs. Stewart was born in Trezevant to the late Robert Earl and Nova Lynn Smith. She was a graduate of Memphis State College and later earned a master's degree in education. She taught 20 years, primarily at Goodlett Elementary School.
She was an active member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, serving as an office volunteer. She was a member of Knit Wits, a club that knits hats for the homeless, and bridge clubs.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Sam Stewart; one daughter, Sherry Ann (Clint) Stewart Murphy; one son, Sam (Melanie) Stewart Jr.; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and one sister, Lois Argo of Trezevant.
Memphis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be sent to St. Luke's United Methodist Church.

Ralph Hart
1950-2005
BRUCETON - Ralph Hart, 55, died Thursday, November 10, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were November 13 at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Dwight Turner officiating. Burial was in Community cemetery in Springville.
Mr. Hart was born August 19, 1950, to Edith Sanders hart of Springville and the late Vernon Hart. He was a Paris native and former self-employed logger.
His wife of 37 years, Sandra Kay Hollingsworth Hart, survives. Other survivors include two daughters; Rhonda Saddler of Key West and Sherry Pruitt of Paris; one brother, William (Shirley) Hart of Dalton, Georgia; three sisters: Carolyn Hart of Henry, Ruth (Jim) Knight of Springville, and Joan (Ernie) Cavasini of Mentor on the Lake, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Hart, who died in infancy.

Shelia Aden Higgins
1904-2005
KENTUCKY: Shelia Ann Higgins, 101, died Monday, November 7, at her residence. Funeral services were conducted November 10 at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Drs. Howard H. Willen and John B. Begley officiating. Interment icon was in Riverside cemetery.
Mrs. Higgins born February 6, 1904, in Christmasville, the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Mamie Elizabeth McCracken Aden. She was a teacher and taught Latin for 28 years after earning her master's degree in education from Peabody College. She taught 11 years in Carroll County, ten years in Shelby County, five years at East Tennessee State College in Johnson City, and three years at Memphis State College. She was a former owner of Higgins Realty Inc. and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and served on the board of Lindsey Wilson College and was a member of the original board of University Heights Academy, where the National Honor Society is named in her honor. She was a past member of the Shakespeare (bridge) Club.
Her husband, E.H. Higgins, died in 1966.
Survivors include 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.

Ollie Stanley McBride
1936-2005
HENRY - Services for Ollie Stanley McBride, 69, were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 30, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with Jim Robinson officiating. Interment icon followed in the church cemetery in Henry.
Mr. McBride, a self-employed sawmill operator, died at Henry County Medical Center on Wednesday, July 27.
He was born in Henry on July 24, 1936, to the late Ollie Lee McBride and Francis W. Nelson McBride. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Nita Grisson, Nina Lee McBride, and Mary Nell McBride, and two grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Paschall McBride; a daughter, Vicki Galey of Greenfield; four sons, Stanley Dale McBride and Danny McBride, both of Henry, Mark McBride of Jackson, and David McBride of Greenfield; one sister, Shirley Braden of Henry; and six grandchildren.
Ridgeway Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Rose Helen Horn Wisdom
1932-2005
HUNTINGDON - Services for Rose Helen Horn Wisdom, 72, were conducted Tuesday, August 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Andrew Stokes officiating. Interment icon followed in the New Hope cemetery.
Mrs. Wisdom died Sunday, July 31, at her home.
She was born August 5, 1932, in Yuma, to the late Lester Horn and Noma Mae Myracle Horn. She was a housewife and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Joe Wisdom; one daughter, Sheila Hall of Huntingdon; two sons, Danny Wisdom of Huntingdon and Michael Wisdom of Houston, Texas; one sister, Sarah Pritchard of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
