Michael Leon Holton
1962-2005
MAURY CITY: Funeral services for Michael Leon Holton, 43, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 6, at New First Baptist Church in Maury City with Pastor Lynwood Reed officiating. Interment icon will follow in New cemetery in Maury City.
Mr. Holton died Saturday, July 30, at Bolivar General Hospital. His body will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until time for the service.
Survivors include three brothers, Milton Holton of Bolivar, David Holton of Paris, and Steven Holton of McKenzie.

James Wyatt Priestley
1924-2005
GREENFIELD - Services for James Wyatt Priestley, 80, of Greenfield will be held Thursday, August 4, 11 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield with Bro. Jim Roberts and Bro. Joe Atnip officiating. Burial will be in Highland cemetery. He died Monday, August 1.
He was a member of Kimery Church of Christ, a farmer and truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Priestley; three sons, Jimmy Priestley of McMinnville, Keith Priestley of McKenzie, and Joe Priestley of Germantown; one sister, Lodusca Priestley of Greenfield; one brother, Eugene McKee Priestley of Houston; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, R.B. Priestley, Jr.

Johnie Stephens
1914-2003
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Services for Mr. Johnie Stephens, 88, formerly of McKenzie, were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18 at the McKenzie Church of Christ. Mr. Stephens, a devoted husband and beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died on Saturday night, March 15 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a former member of the McKenzie Church of Christ and presently a member of the Somers Avenue Church of Christ in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born on June 27, 1914 in Weakley County to the late Arch and Jennie Stephens. Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by a brother, Wilson Stephens; a sister, Mattie Stafford and a brother-in-law, Noble Stafford.
He is survived by his wife of over 69 years, Mrs. Rosie Shankle Stephens of North Little Rock, Arkansas; two sons, Bobby Stephens of North Little Rock and his wife Mary and Larry Stephens and his wife, Lana of Omaha, Nebraska; a sister-in-law, Brooksie Stephens, five grandchildren, Dana (Steve) Parker, Suzie (Glenn) Thames, Renee (Tim) Wilson, Blaise Stephens, and Wesley (Lynnette) Stephens; and nine great-grandchildren, Tyler Ross Parker, Jeremy and Parker Thames, Jacob and Chandler Wilson, Brittany Stephens and Lyndsey, Benjamin and Jonathan Stephens.
Burial was in the Seminary cemetery in McKenzie. Donations may be made to your favorite charity in his memory.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the local arrangements.

Annette Travis
1939-2003
GREENFIELD - Services for Annette Travis, 63, were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Brother Joseph Williamson and Brother Toney Wiggins officiating. Burial was in the New Prospect cemetery in Greenfield.
Mrs. Travis, a retired insurance coordinator for Smith and Smith Optometry in McKenzie died Saturday, March 15 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
She was born June 18, 1939 in Weakley County. She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Armstrong Cox.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth R. Travis of Greenfield; her father, J.M. Cox of Greenfield; two daughters, Kim Gilmore of McKenzie and Karen Hutson of Franklin, Virginia; three sisters, Janice Dunning of Greenfield, Carroll Lewis of Martin and Hope Bateman of Trezevant; two grandchildren, Kendra Gilmore and Carter Hutson; twelve nieces and nephews.

Pauline Sylvia Wonderly
1900-2003
SPRINGVILLE - Graveside services for Pauline Sylvia Wonderly, 103, will be on Thursday, March 20 at All Souls cemetery in Chardon, Ohio. Visitation was Sunday afternoon, March 16 at McEvoy Funeral Home in Paris.
Mrs. Wonderly, a homemaker, died on Saturday, March 15 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
She was born March 3, 1900 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Emil Albrecht and Antionette Albrecht. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include a son, Leon E. Wonderly, Jr. (Grace) of Springville; a daughter-in-law, Mildred Wonderly of Euclid, Ohio, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leo E. Wonderly, Sr. on September 9, 1966; a daughter, Elaine Gordos; a son, Norman A. Wonderly; and four brothers, Leo Albrecht, Harold Albrecht, Walter Albrecht and Charlie Albrecht.

Vernnie Hatch
1919-2003
YUMA - Mrs. Vernnie Hatch, 83, died on Monday, March 17 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Andy White, Brother Rufus Chandler and Brother Robert Simmons officiating. Interment icon will be at New Hope cemetery in Yuma.
Mrs. Hatch was born November 23, 1919 in Carroll County to the late Roland and Mollie Jowers Umstead. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Freeman Umstead, Sam Umstead, Dan Umstead, Billy Umstead, Capp Umstead and Roy Umstead and two sisters, Doy Robinson and Bonnie Hicks.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roy W. Hatch; a daughter, Norma Baker of Huntingdon.

Katherine M. Teague
1921-2003
McKENZIE - Services for Katherine M. Teague, 82, were at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 25 at the Church of the Living God in Paris with Elder James Travis officiating. Burial was in the New Hope cemetery in Mansfield.
Mrs. Teague died at her home on Friday.
She was born January 3, 1921 in Paris to the late Fred Page and Samantha Jackson Page. She was educated in Henry County and was an employee of Crown Cleaners, an Avon representative and a housewife.
Survivors include a daughter, Pearlie Hutcherson of Paris; five sons, Bobby Hayes of Paris, Edward Milliken, Freddie Milliken and Charles Milliken, all of Nashville and Carl Milliken of Mobile, Alabama; a brother, Robert Jackson of St. Louis, Missouri; 29 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Professor Kirby Teague; two daughters, Verlie Scott and Shirley Stewart and two sisters, Louise Harmon and Vergie Jackson preceded her in death.

Tom S. Hall
1922-2003
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, ILLINOIS: Tom S. Hall, D.D.S., 80, passed away on March 15 in an Arlington Heights, Illinois hospital. Dr. Hall, a resident of Park Ridge, Illinois, was born in McKenzie on September 9, 1922. He attended Bethel College in McKenzie. He later moved to Chicago and graduated from Loyola University's Dental School. He practiced as a dentist in the Chicago area for 40 years.
Dr. Hall is survived by his wife, Virginia; children Nancy Shuts, Jeri Metler, Tom Hall and Mary Hall, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service and burial was held on Friday, March 21 in Park Ridge. Arrangements were handled by the Ryan-Parke Funeral home at 120 S. Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, Illinois.

Sue Bruce
1921-2003
FULTON, KENTUCKY: Sue Bruce, 81, died on Monday, March 17 at the Haws Memorial Nursing Home in Fulton, Kentucky. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19 at the Hornbeak Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton.
She was a member of the Good Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church and had worked as a bookkeeper for the former Southern States in South Fulton before retiring. She was a graduate of Fulton High School and had lived in this area all of her life.
She was born on November 14, 1921 in Fulton County, Kentucky to the late Weldon and Lula Milner King. Four sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Thomas Bruce of Fulton; two sons, Thomas Ray Bruce of McKenzie and Gene Paul Bruce of Cave City, Kentucky; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Katherine Sue Kemp
1920-2003
McKENZIE - Graveside services for Katherine Sue Kemp, 82, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 23 at the Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie with Rev. Harrell Nation officiating. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
Mrs. Kemp died on Friday, March 21 at Oak Manor Health Center in McKenzie.
She was born in McKenzie on July 8, 1920 to Frances Todd Kemp and Marcus Kemp. She was a retired secretary for the First United Methodist Church in McKenzie and a member of that church.
There are no immediate survivors.

Reba E. Hall
1921-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Reba E. Hall, 81, died on Wednesday, March 19 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Dishman officiating. Interment icon followed at the Benton County Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hall was born July 23, 1921 in Springville to the late John H. and Esther Lowry Sanders. She was a pilot and owner of Hall's Grocery. A brother, Charles Sanders preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Hall; three sisters, Jean Barnhart, Naomi Dillahunty and Ravanell Britt; four brothers, Dwight Sanders, Samuel Sanders, Paul Sanders and John Sanders, Jr., all of Huntingdon.

Rev. R.B. Morgan
1912-2003
HUNTINGDON - Services for Rev. R.B. Morgan, 90, were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22 at Hopewell Baptist Church in Yuma with Rev. A. Taylor officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Rev. Morgan died on Tuesday, March 18 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on July 29, 1912 to the late J.W. and Bertha Crider Morgan and was married to the late Rommie Owens Morgan. Rev. Morgan professed faith in Christ at age 12 at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Yuma. He served as a deacon of the church until he answered the call to the ministry. Prior to answering the call, Rev. Morgan spent his early years as a farmer. He also worked in construction as an ammunition handler in Milan. He later worked for the Department of Safety with the Tennessee Highway patrol from which he retired. He served as pastor of Milton Grove Baptist Church and Spring Creek Baptist Church, both in Paris.
Besides his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by four brothers and two brothers-in-law.
Survivors include two daughters, Susie Marshall and Earlene Weathers, both of Huntingdon; one sister, Cressie Gooch of Huntingdon, three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
