PARIS - Rev. Orlander Humphreys, 33, died Sunday morning, March 23 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Arrangements were incomplete at press-time. Trinity Funeral Home in Paris is in charge of the arrangements.

Lula T. Nanney
1920-2003
GLEASON - Services for Lula T. Nanney, 82, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22 at Gallimore Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Auvenshine officiating. Burial was in the Hopewell cemetery.
Mrs. Nanney, widow of Charles Nanney, died on Thursday, March 20 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
She was born on August 2, 1920 in Sharon to the late Archie Thomas and Eunie Ann Adams Everett.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Choate of Buchanan; a sister, Sue Travis of Martin and three grandchildren.

Harold David Godwin
1932-2003
GLEASON - Services for Harold David Godwin, 70, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 23 at Gallimore Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Bullock officiating. Burial was in the New Valley cemetery.
Mr. Godwin, a retired farmer, died on Friday, March 21, at the McKenzie Health Care Center.
He was born on September 30, 1932 in Tiptonville to the late Lonnie Talmer and Ora Lynn Turner Godwin. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Anderson Godwin; a son, Harold David Godwin, Jr. of Gleason; two daughters, Sabrina Snider of Gleason and Benita Hope Griffin of Union City; a sister, Sonja Joyner of Huntingdon; a brother, Paul Godwin of Gleason and three grandchildren.

Bernice Higdon
1920-2003
BRUCETON - Services for Mrs. Bernice Higdon, 82, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18 at the Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Prospect cemetery.
Mrs. Higdon, a retired seamstress for Publix Shirt, died on Sunday, March 16 at Bruceton Life Care Center.
She was born on December 30, 1920 in Red Bay, Alabama to the late William Edward King and Alma Brewer King. She was a Baptist.
A son, Robert Edward Higdon, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Higdon and one grandson.

Edward Uriah Hurlburt
1957-2003
McKENZIE - Graveside services for Edward Uriah Hurlburt, 45, were at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 13 at Shiloh cemetery with Bro. Dewayne Thomas officiating.
Mr. Hurlburt, disabled, died Tuesday, February 11 at his residence.
He was born on September 21, 1957 in Monticello, Indiana to the late Audrey Hurlburt and Bert William Hurlburt, Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran and attended the Lighthouse Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary K. Hurlburt; three daughters, Karen (Roger) Webb of McKenzie; Heidi Jo Hurlburt and Chasity (Eric) Myers of Hollow Rock; a stepdaughter, Donna Faye Warren; two brothers, Byron Hurlburt of Monticello, Indiana and Bert Hurlburt, Jr. of Humboldt; two sisters, Vivian Abbott of Monticello, Indiana and Joann Blackwell of Tomball, Texas; and two grandchildren Madison Myers and Brent Austin Webb.

Mildred Lois Ross
1924-2003
GLEASON - Services for Mildred Lois Ross, 78 were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16 at Gallimore Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Stubbs officiating. Burial was in the New Valley cemetery.
Mr. Ross died on Saturday, February 15 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was born on June 11, 1924 in Gleason to the late Tommy Jackson and Eva Mae Wiseman Page. She was a member of the New Valley Methodist Church. She was the widow of Earl Ross.
Survivors include Marcia Chandler of Gleason and Kathy Ross of Milan; a son, Steve Ross of Gleason; a brother, Jerry Page of Gleason, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Edna Bill Shaddix Greene
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Edna Bill Shaddix Greene died on Sunday, February 16 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mickey Carpenter officiating. Interment icon will follow at Marlboro cemetery.
Mrs. Greene was born in Jefferson County, Alabama. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a retired office assistant/secretary/bookkeeper for the Federal Land Bank Association of Huntingdon for 22 years, which dealt in farm loans. Her parents, Willie McClure and Minnie Lee Carr Shaddix and a half-brother, Gerald David Shaddix, all of Birmingham, Alabama, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Bill G. Greene of Huntingdon; a son and daughter-in-law Paul D. and Beverly Leedham Greene of Nashville; one brother, William Deward Shaddox of Birmingham, Alabama; one nephew; one niece; three great-nephews and two great-nieces, all of Birmingham, Alabama.

Brenda Mai Hollingsworth
1914-2002
BRUCETON - Services for Brenda Mai Hollingsworth, 88, widow of Lebern Hollingsworth were on Monday, December 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stockdale-Malin Chapel in Camden, with Bro. Chester Harrison Officiating. Burial was in the Camden City cemetery.
Mrs. Hollingsworth, a retired salesperson for the National Store and a member of the First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star, died on Saturday, December 14 at Lifecare Center in Bruceton. She was born, July 18, 1914 in Benton County.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Butler of Birmingham, Alabama; a son, Dwayne Hollingsworh of Camden; a sister, Robbie Johnson of Dickson; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Arlie S. Ward
1913-2002
GLEASON - Services for Arlie S. Ward, 89, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 15 at Gallimore Funeral Home with Revs. Bob Copeland and Roy Auvenshine officiating. Burial was in the Hopewell cemetery.
Mr. Ward died on Friday, December 13 at his home. He was a member of the Gleason First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Ruth Taylor Ward; daughters, Mary Ruth Roberts of Greenfield, Dorothy Sue Auvenshine of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, and Betty Jean Brawner of Gleason, a son, James Thomas Ward of Cloves, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Lillian James
1922-2002
CEDAR GROVE - Services for Lillian James, 80, were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 12 at Reed's Chapel. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Mrs. James died on Monday, December 9 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara James Bobo of Millports, Alabama and Carolyn James Driver of Atlanta, Georgia; two sons, Larry D. James of Spring Creek and Robert L. James of Jackson; one brother, James C. 'Bill' Jordan of Jacks Creek; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Connie 'Pete' James, preceded her in death.

Mable E. McMackins
1919-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Mable E. McMackins, 83, died on Thursday, December 12 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, December 14 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Hugo Sellers and Brother Doug Sellers officiating. Interment icon followed in the Palmer Shelter cemetery.
Mrs. McMackins was born November 18, 1919 in Carroll County to the late Homer and Lydia Hardy Mann. She retired from Publix Shirt Corporation and was a member of the Holladays Chapel Church of Christ. Her first husband, Jim Lacy and her second husband, Russell McMackins, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Betty Webb of Huntingdon and Ann McClintock of Little Rock, Arkansas; one stepson, Donald McMackins of Huntingdon; two sisters, Verda Wooters of Huntingdon and Alene Daniels of Murfreesboro; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers who served were David Sellers, Junior Reeves, Wayne Eskew, Billy Parham, Lane Dill and Jack McCaslin.

Edward B. Campbell
1912-2003
TREZEVANT - Services for Edward B. Campbell, 91, will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12 at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant with Bor. John Forgy and the Rev. Malcolm Norton officiating.
Mr. Campbell, a retired millwright at the Milan Arsenal and an engineer tech at NASA in Huntsville, Alabama, died on Sunday, March 9 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born on January 19, 1912 in Weakley County to the late Lela Stoffle Campbell and Sam Campbell. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Trezevant and a Mason at Pleasant Green Lodge #291.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Eva Blaylock Campbell; a son, Billy Campbell of Trezevant; a brother, Paul Campbell of Nolensville and a sister Ruth Wells of Humboldt.

Martha Anne 'Bird' Myers
1956-2003
BRUCETON - Mrs. Martha Ann Myers, 47, died on Tuesday, March 4, at her home. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, March 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. George Sellers officiating. Interment icon followed in the Hopewell cemetery.
Mrs. Myers was born on February 26, 1956 in Carroll County. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Billy Daniel Myers, preceded her in death on December 22, 1983, her father James Hugh Waldrup, who died on December 23, 2002 and her father-in-law, Jimmy Myers, who died on March 16, 1995.
Survivors include one daughter, Mandy Renee Myers of West Memphis, Arkansas; one son, Eric Myers of Bruceton; her mother, Iva Mae Waldrup of McKenzie, mother-in-law Nellie Myers of Cedar Grove; two sisters, Judy Earls of McKenzie and Betty Moore of Bruceton; one brother, Edward Waldrup of Mayfield, Kentucky and one granddaughter.

Curtis D. Moody, Jr.
1916-2003
LOS GATOS, CALIFORNIA: Memorial services for Curtis D. Moody, Jr., 86, were Saturday, March 1 at a retirement complex in Los Gatos. Mr. Moody died on Friday, February 14. His body was cremated. He was the son of the late Daisy Crutchfield Moody and Curtis Davidson Moody of McKenzie.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in Londonderry, Northern Ireland during World War II. He met his wife, Myra Hidgins while in Ireland. She came to McKenzie in 1946 and they were later married at the First Methodist Church. His father owned The McKenzie Banner where Curtis learned the printing trade. Following years of employment in printing in Chicago, Evanston and the Los Gatos areas, he retired.
Besides his wife, other survivors include a son, David Moody of Bloomington, Minnesota; two daughters, Diane Warkentin of Cupertino, California; three sisters, Mrs. Guy R. Kirk of Huntingdon, Mrs. Tommy Pilgrim of Memphis and Mrs. E.J. Kearney of Clermont, Florida; four granddaughters and two grandsons.
