William Arthur Blakemore
1919-2004
PARIS - Services for William Arthur Blakemore, 85, will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 1 at Trinity Funeral Home in Paris with the Rev. Kenneth Humphreys officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery in Cottage Grove.
Mr. Blakemore, retired from General Motors Corp., died Sunday morning, June 27 at Henry County Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born January 17, 1919 in Buchanan.
Survivors include a daughter, Cozett Davis of Louisville, Kentucky and a sister, Kathryn Blakemore of Chicago, Illinois; several nieces and nephews in McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Tea Blakemore and Louise Blakemore and two brothers, Robert Lewis and Rufus Lewis.

Lois Sydnor Newton
1933-2004
McKENZIE - Services for Lois Sydnor Newton, 71, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23 at Brummitt Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Hays officiating. Burial was in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Newton, retired factory worker and homemaker, died on Thursday, October 21 at her residence.
She was born February 6, 1933 in McKenzie to the late John Sydnor and Betty Lois Barker Sydnor. She was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Tracey Best of Jackson; three brothers, Jim Sydnor of McKenzie, Gene Sydnor of Jackson and Dale Sydnor of Cleveland, Texas; and two grandsons Nicholas Best and Matthew Best.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred M. Newton; a brother, Rob Sydnor and a sister, Thelma Neisler.

Verna Lee Parish
1922-2004
WESTPORT: Services for Verna Lee Parish, 82, were conducted on Friday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home chapel with Brother Tim Maness officiating.
She died on Wednesday, October 20 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born February 14, 1922 in Decatur County to the late Covy Chester and Lillie Hicks Griggs. She was a member of the Yuma Missionary Baptist Church and a retired employee of Henry I. Siegel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Priesley Parish, who died on November 18, 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Carrie McLean and Barbara Blount, both of Westport; one son, Gerald Parish of Jackson; and six grandchildren.

Evelyn Riggs
1911-2004
BUENA VISTA - Services for Evelyn Riggs, 93, were conducted on Friday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chase Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Lloyd Ray Rich and Bro. Roger Ellis officiating.
Miss Riggs died on Thursday, October 21 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.
She was born January 6, 1911 in Carroll County to the late John and Jennie Bell Moon Riggs. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Buford Riggs, Ondeen Riggs, Floyd Riggs, James E. Riggs, Lewis Riggs, and Enloe Riggs.
Survivors include two sister, Lorene Evans of Glencarbon, Illinois and Velma Mitchell of Erin, several nieces and nephews.

John R. Green
1919-2004
HOLLOW ROCK - Services for John R. Green, 85, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 24 at Bruceton Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Rich and Bro. Russell Carlock officiating. Interment icon followed in the Pisgah cemetery near Hollow Rock. Military rites were conducted at the gravesite.
Mr. Green, a retired truck driver with Gray Transportation, died on Thursday, October 21 at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
He was born July 22, 1919 in Clarksburg to the late John P. Green, Sr. and Sarah Madeline West Green. He was a World War II army veteran and a former Union Stewart for the Teamsters.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Bennett Green; a son, Billy Green of Chattanooga; a sister, Bessie Mae Phillips of Bruceton; two brothers, Joe Green of Hollow Rock and Ralph Newhouse of Bruceton and one grandson.

Royce Kenneth Wilson
1947-2003
DRESDEN - Mr. Royce Kenneth Wilson, 56, died on Thursday, August 28 at the Volunteer General Hospital.
He was born August 14, 1947 in Maine to the late Norman Kenneth and Geannie Whitam Wilson. He was a self-employed mechanic.
Survivors include a daughter, Desiree Wilson; one son, Ryan Wilson, both of Mayfield, Kentucky; and one brother, Rick Wilson of California.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Verda Lena Wooters
1915-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Verda Lena Wooters, 87, died on Sunday, August 31 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, September 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Twin Oaks Church of Christ with Bro. Steve Wilkinson and Brother Donny Gateley officiating. Interment icon followed in the Twin Oaks cemetery.
Mrs. Wooters was born on December 27, 1915 in Carroll County to the late Homer and Lyda Mann. She was a homemaker and a member of the Twin Oaks Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Boyd Wooters, who passed away in September 1991 and one son, Jerry Wooters who passed away in 1987.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Wooters of Huntingdon and Glenn Wooters of Shelbyville, Kentucky; three daughters, Betty Thompson and Arlene Wilkes, both of Huntingdon and Carol Wentworth of Colonial Heights, Virginia; one sister, Arlene Daniels of Murfreesboro; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Tensil Enzor
1916-2003
ATWOOD - Services for Mr. Tensil Enzor, 87, were at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 6 at the First United Methodist Church in Atwood with burial in the Pisgah cemetery.
Mr. Enzor, a retired employee of Cory Foam, Inc. died on Wednesday, September 3 at his home.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Espey Enzor and Winsome Enzor.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Enzor of Atwood; one son, Steve Enzor of Medina; one stepson, Jerry Howell of Hollow Rock; one stepdaughter, Cindy Butler of Goodlettsville; one sister, Ruth Samuels of Atwood; one grandson and six step grandchildren.
Mr. Enzor was the oldest member of the First United Methodist Church in Atwood and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan was in charge of the arrangements.

Onie Mae Luter
1917-2003
McLEMORESVILLE - Mother Onie Mae Luter, 85, died on September 5. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Luter and children, Johnetta Moore and Billy Luter.
Survivors include her children Fred Luter of Gary, Indiana, Linda Hicks of Chicago, Illinois, Samuel Luter of McLemoresville, and Mary Jordan, Agnes Gatewood and Paul Luter, all of Nashville; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Family visitation will be on Wednesday, September 10 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at 1109 32nd Avenue, Nashville. The praise service will follow with Pastor Jimmy D. Greer, Sr. officiating. Family visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. with funeral services to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11 at New Reedy Creek Missionary Baptist Church in McLemoresville with Pastor Kenneth Hillsman officiating. Interment icon will follow.
Smith Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Clayton Wesley Milam
1928-2003
HUMBOLDT: Funeral services for Clayton Wesley Milam, 75, were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 21 at Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home with Bobby Beacham officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Milam, a minister, died Saturday, July 19 at Humboldt General Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Milam.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy M. Brockman of Olive Branch, Mississippi; three sons, Danny Clayton Milam of Humboldt, John Timothy Milam of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Mark Anthony Milam of Smithville; two sisters, June Moore of Wildersville and Marcelle Gowan of Cedar Grove; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Bryant Caldwell Marsh
1911-2003
TREZEVANT - Services for Bryant Caldwell Marsh, 92, were at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan. Burial was in Morris cemetery in Greenfield.
Mr. Marsh, a retired school bus driver, died on Thursday, July 17 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
Mr. Marsh was a member of the Trezevant United Methodist Church and of the American Legion, Trezevant Post. He was also a World War II U.S. Army veteran, where he was a P.O.W.
He is survived by one daughter, Marsha Marsh of Trezevant; four nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Bryant Marsh; two sisters, Glendola McElroy and Marie Cochran and one brother, Monroe Marsh.

Jammie H. Foster
1946-2003
McKENZIE - Mr. Jammie H. Foster, 57, died Thursday, October 30 in a boating accident at Whiteville Lake in Hardeman County. Two memorial services are planned for Mr. Foster, one in Bolivar and the other in McKenzie. Interment icon will take place in Memory Hill Gardens in Memphis.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 5 at the McKenzie Funeral Home with a memorial service at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 6 at the McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The second memorial service will be held at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bolivar at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 7.
Mr. Foster was a graduate of Bethel College and lived in McKenzie a number of years while serving as the Assistant Director of the Tennessee Technology Center. He had been the Director of the Tennessee Technology Center in Whiteville since 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jamie H. Foster and Pauline Bailey.
Survivors include two sons, John Lute Foster and Andrew W. Foster, both of Memphis; and one sister, Nora Reynolds of Memphis.
