Norma Kuntz
Norma Kuntz, 85, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, in a local hospital.
She was of the Baptist faith and was retired as an EMR teacher after 40 years of service in Carter County and Walker County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Kuntz; and a brother, Jack Whitehead.
Survivors include four children, Karen Swanson, of Charleston, S.C., Jeffrey Kuntz, of Birchwood, Tenn., John W. Kuntz, of Charleston, and Lisa Brackett, of Fort Oglethorpe; six grandchildren, Stephanie DiDonato, Jonathan Branum, Joshua Branum, Jennifer Hattyer, Christine Kuntz and Brook Mondy; two great-grandchildren, Madeline DiDonato and Emily Hattyer; three sisters, Billie Rose, of Gatlinburg, Tenn., Sammie Tolley, of Hampton, Tenn., and Virginia Young, of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist with the Rev. Chad Denton officiating.

Burma Powell
Burma Peters Powell, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at a local hospital.
A lifelong resident of the North Georgia/Chattanooga area, she was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S.W. Powell; parents, Jeff and Nora Clemons Peters; two sisters, Lillian Burt and Ina Wooden; and five brothers, Dennis, Donald, Clarence, Virgil and David Peters.
She is survived by her daughter, Norma Derry; stepson, Irby Powell, of Chattanooga; brother, Carlos Peters, of Chattanooga; three grandsons, John, Jim and Gilbert Derry; stepgranddaughter, Connie Hildebrand; four great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Elder Wayne Peters officiating.
Interment will follow at Anderson cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. Monday until funeral time at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold, Ga. 24-hour obituary line, (706) 861-1060.

Usher Raymond III
Usher Raymond III, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, in an Atlanta hospital.
Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga Inc.

Gary Robinson
Gary Robinson, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at his residence.

Marie Rogers
Marie C. Rogers, 87, of Clarksville, Tenn., passed away Friday Jan. 18, 2008.
She was a member of Spring Creek Road Baptist Church and the Fidelas Sunday School Class. Mrs. Rogers had worked for the Vogue for many years and retired from Hunter Art Gallery in 2000. She was a member of the Pilot Club of Chattanooga.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Rogers; mother, Bessie Owens Cope; father, General Forrest Cope; two brothers, General Forrest "Buddy" Cope Jr. and Bob Cope; and a sister, Katherine Rich.
Survivors include her daughter, Jacquelyn Hudson and husband, Ken, of Clarksville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Melissa Gant and husband, Brian, of Nashville; sister, Peggy (Harold) Christol, of Chattanooga; nine nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist with Dr. Bill Owens officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Ray White
1920-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Ray White, 82, died on Friday, November 8 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brothers Bill Goodpasture and Bob White officiating. Interment icon followed in the Long Rock cemetery.
Mr. White, the son of the late Will and Minnie Merritt White, was born May 10, 1020 in Carroll County. He was a retired farmer and served as property assessor of Carroll County for 16 years. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the VFW, American Legion and was a member of the Carroll County Democrat Executive Committee. He was a past member of the Huntingdon Rotary Club, a member of the State of Tennessee Equalization Board and the State of Tennessee Property Assessors Association. He was a member of the Twin Oaks Church of Christ. A sister, Madaline Anderson and two brothers, Waldon White and Tom White, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Rumley White, a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Rickey Wilson of Huntingdon; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy White of McKenzie and Jerry and Brenda White of Huntingdon; three brothers, Bill White of Dresden, Jamie White of Huntingdon and Weldon White of Lowell, Indiana. He also leaves a very special niece, Diana Skelton; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers who served were his grandchildren, Jeff and Melissa White, Jennifer and Bobby Sellers, Timmy White, Josh and Melanie White, Clint Wilson, Katy Wilson and Hayden White. Honorary pallbearers who served were Ernest Douglas, Poker Pearson, Dr. Jerry Atkins, Peggy Brandon, Joyce Sullivan, Bessie Mae Phillips, Sylvia Cary and R.C. Wilson.

Ollie L. Hill
1937-2002
McKENZIE - Services for Ollie L. Hill, 64, were at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 1 at Union Academy Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Campbell and Bro. Paul Merwin officiating. Burial was in the Union Academy Church cemetery.
Mr. Hill, a mechanic at Milan Arsenal, died on Tuesday, October 29. He was born December 28, 1937 in Athens, Alabama to the late Fred Hill and Edith Canup Hill. He was a member of the Union Academy Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Katie Crocker Hill; a daughter, Brenda Stevens of Lexington; one son, Kevin Hill of McKenzie; three sisters, Betty Zane Cowart, and Birdie Lanier, both of Hazel Green, Alabama and Bertha Mae Bridgeman of Unionville, Missouri; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Herbert Maurice Baskin
1931-2002
BRIGHTON - Services for Herbert Maurice Baskin, 71, were at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7 at Munford Funeral Home in Munford. Burial was in Helen Crigger cemetery.
Mr. Baskin, formerly of McKenzie, died Tuesday, November 5 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was a farmer and a member of Wright's Chapel Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Baskin Sanders of Burlison; a son, Kenneth Baskin of McKenzie; two sisters Patsy Wilkins of Brighton and Jody Farmer of Atoka; two brothers Douglas Baskin and Billy Baskin both of Brighton; six grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Agnes Deaton
1916-2002
GLEASON - Services for Mary Agnes Deaton, 86, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9 at Gallimore Funeral Home with Donald Doster and Don Bowlin officiating. Burial was in New Valley cemetery.
Mrs. Deaton died on Thursday, November 7 at Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare in Jackson. She was born September 12, 1916 in Como to the late Robert Ellis and Ruthie Harper Ellis. She was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Aleene Vickers of Gleason, Joy Lewis of Greenfield, Dorothy Burlison of New Johnsonville, Reba Gallimore of Dresden and Brooksie Owen and Patsy Lovell, both of McKenzie; a son, Freddie Deaton of Dyersburg; a sister, Lois Johnson of Gleason, 28 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Her husband, Bryant Deaton and a son, David Deaton, preceded her in death.

James Arthur Bush
1919-2002
McKENZIE - Services for James Arthur Bush, 83, were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 9 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Vance Rushing and Bro. Robert Simmons officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Bush died Thursday, November 7 at Methodist Hospital.
He was born July 13, 1919 in Huntingdon to the late Irene Thomason Bush and Jasper Bush. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and the American Legion of Gleason.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Scott Bush of McKenzie; three sons Shane Garner of McKenzie and Jimmy and Timothy Bush, both of Huntingdon; one sister, Wilma May Simmons of Huntingdon; and five grandchildren.

Loyce Butler
1924-2002
BRUCETON - Services for Loyce Butler, 78, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 12 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Joe Hilliard officiating. Norman Hillard gave the eulogy. Burial was in Prospect cemetery.
Mrs. Butler, a retired seamstress, died Saturday, November 9 at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon. She was born October 3, 1924 in Hickman, Kentucky to the late Gilbert Burns Goodman and Ethel Veiler Abbott Goodman.
Survivors include a daughter, Gina Pierce of Bruceton; a sister, Jewell Moore of Bruceton; and three grandchildren. Her husband, Warren Green Butler, preceded her in death.

Leigh Anne Henderson
1957-2002
HERNANDO, MISSISSIPPI: Services for Leigh Anne Henderson, 45, were at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 6 at Hernando Funeral Home in Hernando, Mississippi. Burial was in Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian cemetery in McKenzie at 1:30, Thursday, November 7.
Mrs. Henderson, scheduling coordinator for Sheraton Casino, died Monday, November 4 at Baptist Desota Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi.
She was born April 26, 1957 in Jackson. She was a graduate of the University of Memphis.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy Dale Henderson; her mother, Mary Jane Martin of McKenzie; a son, Kenneth Bryan Pleasants of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Lynn White of Tampa, Florida and Lisa Wagner of Uvalve, Texas; and a brother, Kirk Martin of Memphis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
Her father, Kenneth K. Martin, Jr., preceded her in death.
