1945-2009

MARTIN - Freddie Neal Harelson, 64, of Martin died Saturday, May 2 at his residence. Funeral services were held Monday, April 4 at Bowlin Funeral Home.
Mr. Morgan was born in Union City to the late Brownie and Daymon VanCleave Harelson. He was a truck driver, a disabled veteran and a member of Gardner Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Nooner Harelson of Martin; one daughter, Michelle Moore of Dresden; a son, Wayne Harelson of Crossville, Tennessee; four step-sons: David Winston and Steven Winston, both of Martin, Kenneth Winston of Dresden, and Greg Winston of Sharon; one sister, Martha Crawford of Martin; two brothers, Tommy Harelson of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and James Harelson of Martin; eighteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

RUBY LEE WEBB
1927-2009

SHARON - Ruby Lee Webb, 82, of Schertz, Texas, formerly of Sharon, died April 26 at the Silver Tree Nursing Home in Schertz, Texas. Funeral services were held Friday, May 1 at Bowlin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Webb was born in Greenfield to the late Robert and Goldie Bolton Johnson. She was a retired supervisor for Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance Company and a member of the Protestant faith. She was preceded in death by one sister, Lorelle Pierce, and two brothers, J.L. Johnson and Bob Johnson.
She is survived by two sons, Charles (Barbara) Webb of Waupaca, Wisconsin and James (Maureen) Webb of Schertz, Texas; two sisters, Estelle (J.W.) Dotson of Greenville, Mississippi and Montez (Harold) Graves of Lexington; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.

JOSEPH E. (JOE) MOORE
1923-2009

DUKEDOM: Joseph E. (Joe) Moore, 86, of Dukedom died Thursday, April 30 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Monday, May 4 at Jackson Funeral home in Dukedom. Burial was in the Good Springs cemetery.
Mr. Moore was born March 2, 1923 in Murray, Kentucky to the late Charles Porter Moore and Maude S. Jeffress. He was a member of the Good Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dukedom. He had worked for Sears as the manager of the catalog department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII, was a member of the Gideons International and The American Legion in Fulton, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leslie Jean Mitchell Moore, and a great-grandchild, Tara Cerbantas Smith.
His survived by a daughter, Kathleen Boyd of Macomb Township, Michigan; two sons, John C. Moore of Mayfield, Kentucky and Michael Moore of Tequesta, Florida; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Richard Paul Morgan

Richard Paul Morgan, 42, of Gleason, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Jackson County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Morgan were held Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel in Gleason. Burial followed in Hopewell cemetery.
Mr. Morgan was a tow boat captain. He was born December 4, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma (Davidson) Morgan.
Mr. Morgan is survived by a daughter, Victoria Morgan of Mayfield, Kentucky; his father, John Morgan; and four brothers, Doug Morgan of Gleason, Johnnie Morgan of Springville, Tennessee, Kenneth Morgan of Paris, and Bill Morgan of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

MaKenzie Joyce Moss

MaKenzie Joyce Moss, age 2, of Martin, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Graveside services were held Friday, July 27, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Martin Memorial Gardens in Martin. Mr. James Sutton officiated the services.
Survivors include her parents, Jerry Michael and Jantzen Noel McLevaine Moss of Martin; a half-brother, Jeremy Michael Moss of Dresden; a sister, MaKayla Anne Moss of Martin; a half-sister, Madison Brooke Moss of Martin; maternal grandparents, Elige and Pamela McLevaine of Whitehouse, Tennessee; paternal grandmother, Shirley Moore Moss of Martin; and paternal grandfather, Jerry Moss of Union City.

James W. "Bull" Durham

James W. "Bull" Durham, 57, of South Fulton, died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. Funeral services for Mr. Durham were held Saturday, July 28, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton. Burial followed in Rock Springs cemetery. Bro. Frank Harris officiated the services.
Mr. Durham was a retired supervisor for the Fulton Housing Authority and a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW in Union City and the American Legion in Martin. Mr. Durham was born March 2, 1950 in Saris, Mississippi and had lived in this area all of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, George Durham; and a brother, Roy Durham.
Mr. Durham is survived by his wife, Diane Bing Durham of South Fulton; his mother, Annie Louise Lantrip Durham; a daughter, Misty Harris of Martin; a son, Dustin Durham of San Francisco, California; two sisters, Sandra Walker of Dukedom, and Ann Cooley of South Fulton; two brothers, George B. Durham of Dresden, and Barry L. Durham of South Fulton; and two grandchildren, Hanna and Heath Harris of Martin.

Noble D. McGehee

Noble D. McGehee, 87, of Dresden, died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Martin Healthcare Center. Funeral services for Mr. McGehee were held Saturday, July 28, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Home in Dukedom. Burial followed in Morgan cemetery. Rev. Bob Copeland officiated the services.
Mr. McGehee was a retired machinist for the former Tool and Dye Industry. He was a member of the Dresden Methodist Church and a Mason. Mr. McGehee was born February 12, 1920 in Henry County to the late John and Lura Miller McGehee. In addition to his parents, Mr. McGehee was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Henderson McGehee, who died November 17, 2005; two brothers, Walter Harold McGehee and John Calvin McGehee; and two sisters, Louise McClain and Lola Gertrude McGehee.
Mr. McGehee is survived by two sisters, Hilda McGuire of Mayfield, Kentucky, and Mary Foy of Sedalia, Kentucky.

John 'Mac' McClure Baucum

John 'Mac' McClure Baucum, 54, of McKenzie, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Baucum were held Monday, July 30, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at McEvoy Funeral Home Chapel in Paris. Burial followed in Glisson cemetery. Bro. Thomas Winchester officiated the services.
Mr. Baucum was the owner of Mac's Electric Service and a master electrician for 34 years. He was born April 23, 1953 in Henry County to the late Herbert Baucum and Learnie B. McClure Baucum. In addition to his parents, Mr. Baucum was also preceded in death by twin daughters, Sosha LaRhea and Courtney Danielle Baucum, who died in childbirth; a twin sister, Kerron Baucum; and a twin brother, Therron Baucum.
Mr. Baucum is survived by his long time companion, Carolyn Alvey of McKenzie; a daughter, Shea Alvey of McKenzie; a son, Cory Baucum of Henry; and a brother, Owen (Bobbie) Baucum of Paris.

Mary M. Staggs

Mary M. Staggs, 75, of Dresden, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Staggs were held Friday, July 27, 2007, at 4:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Olive Branch cemetery near Como. Bro. Bobby Kirkpatrick officiated the services.
Mrs. Staggs was a retired assembly worker for World Color and a member of the Como Church of Christ. She was born in Perry County to the late Clarence and Lucille Mealer Armstrong. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Staggs was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. William Earl 'Billy' Staggs; a sister, Briany Wilbanks; and two brothers, Wiley Armstrong and Robert Armstrong.
Mrs. Staggs is survived by a son, Sammy K. Staggs of Martin; two daughters, Carol Parker of Dresden, and Shelia Suratt of Dresden; a stepdaughter, Cathy Dunevant of Newbern; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Ruth Mae Bowden Alderdice

Ruth Mae Bowden Alderdice, 88, of Sedalia, Kentucky, died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Alderdice were held Monday, July 30, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield. Burial followed in Highland Park cemetery. Bro. Lloyd Canter officiated the services.
Mrs. Alderdice was a homemaker and a member of the Bell City Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arvil Alderdice; her parents, Bonnie Lee and Hattie Mae Anderson Bowden; one brother, Ornan Bowden; and one sister, Sarah Bowden.
Mrs. Alderdice is survived by her son, Gerald (O'Veda) Alderdice of Sedalia, Kentucky; a sister, Lorene Workman of Palmersville; a brother, William Bowden of Toms River, New Jersey; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Veralyn Fanning

Veralyn Fanning, 75, of Stanton, California, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at her home.
Ms. Fanning was born September 23, 1931 in Gleason to the late Harold and Evelyn Fanning. She was the granddaughter of the late M.E. Fanning of Gleason.
Ms. Fanning is survived by a brother, Bob Fanning of Gleason; a sister, Diane Wellspring of Nashville, Tennessee; and six nieces and nephews.

Daniel Wayne Riels

Daniel Wayne Riels, 46, of Dresden, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton. Funeral services for Mr. Riels were held Monday, July 30, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Sunset cemetery in Dresden. Terry Lebo and Bro. Mike Jeffers officiated the services.
Mr. Riels was a conductor for Canadian National Railroad and a member of the American Legion in Dresden. He was born in Mountain Home, Idaho to the late James Darby Riels and Shirley Ann Bell Rebstock.
Mr. Riels is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lourisa (Lisa) Riels of Dresden; two daughters, Dana Cherie Anderson of Petal, Mississippi, and Maggie Lewis of Dresden; a son, Noah Riels of Dresden; a son-in-law, Specialist Titus Anderson of Petal, Mississippi; a sister, Linda A. (Tommy) Gray of Hot Springs, Arkansas; three brothers, Phillip Riels of Southaven, Mississippi, Kenneth Riels of Memphis, and James W. (Marta) Riels of Southaven, Mississippi; and one granddaughter, Katelyn Cherie Anderson of Petal, Mississippi.

Robert Morris (Bobby) Oliver

Robert Morris (Bobby) Oliver, 78, of Martin, died Monday, July 30, 2007, at Humboldt General Hospital. Graveside services for Mr. Oliver were held Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at 3:00 p.m., at East Side cemetery in Martin. Rev. Don Bullock officiated the services.
Mr. Oliver was retired from Martin Manufacturing Company and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea. He was born September 28, 1928 in Martin to the late Jesse N. Oliver and Corrine Manley Oliver. In addition to his parents, Mr. Oliver was also preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Jones Oliver; a brother, Jesse Oliver, Jr.; and three sisters, Cyril Bearden, Dorris Mooring, and Barbara Long.
Mr. Oliver is survived by a stepson, Eugene King of North Carolina; and two sisters, June Thompson of Martin, and Jean Vincent of Martin.

Elizabeth (Betty Jo) Joan Baucom

Elizabeth (Betty Jo) Joan Baucom, 86, of South Fulton, died Monday, July 30, 2007, at Golden Living Health Care in Union City. Graveside services for Miss Baucom were held Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at Walnut Grove cemetery in South Fulton. Mr. Tom Frey officiated the services.
Miss Baucom was born July 15, 1921 in South Fulton to the late Will Baucom and Emma Frey Baucom.
