Lyndell D. Hearn

McKENZIE - Lyndell D. Hearn, 62, died Friday, December 23, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Services were held Tuesday, December 27, in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Rickets officiating. Burial followed in Caledonia cemetery.
Mr. Hearn was born April 7, 1943, in Atwood, to Leonard and Mary Smith Hearn, both deceased. He was disabled and a member of Greenfield House of Prayer.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Goodrum of Martin and Vickie Grooms of Camden; two sons, Rollie "Bubba" Parker and Josh Hearn of McKenzie; one brother William Hearn of Scotts Hill; and three grandchildren.

Frances Robinson
1936-2005
HUNTINGDON - Mary Frances Robinson, 69, died Thursday, December 22, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 24, in the chapel of Dilday Funeral Home with Brother Scott Carter officiating. Interment icon followed in the New Hope cemetery in Yuma.
Mrs. Robinson was born July 28, 1936, in Carroll County, to the late Jack and Letta Beal DePriest. She was a retired employee of Publix Shirt Corp. and a member of the New Crossroads Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby DePriest, and a sister, Ruby Allen.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James G. Robinson; a daughter, Patricia Mann; a son, Randy Robinson; a sister, Faye Carter; and two brothers, Joe DePriest and Edward DePriest, all of Huntingdon; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Eller Ray Harrison
1916-2005
McKENZIE - Eller Ray Harrison, 89, died Wednesday, December 21, at Henry County Medical Center. Services were conducted Saturday, December 24, at Bethlehem Baptist Church near Henry with Bro. Douglas Nash, Bro. Jerry Gallimore, and Bro. Vance Rushing officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery. McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harrison was born December 8, 1916, in Henry, to the late J.R. and Emma Eugnie Nelson Rayburn. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ardie Harrison, with whom she was married December 26, 1936; her father, J.R. (Jim) Rayburn; her mother, Emma Eugnie Casey; one sister, Sara Russ; one brother, Buford Rayburn, and one great-grandchild, Ashley Travis.
She is survived by six daughters: Evelyn (Jerry) Gilliam, Ruth (Jerry) Toombs, Faye (Larry) Cook, Wanda (Barry) Travis, Catherine (Junior) Gibson and Janice (Ralph) Mayberry, all of McKenzie; one son, Jerry (Sue) Harrison of Plant City, Florida; two sisters, Bertie Mae Deeter of Paris and Verda Adniskey of Akron, Ohio; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Berta P. Bryant
1909-2005
ATWOOD - Berta P. Bryant, 96, died Monday, December 19, at NHC Healthcare in Milan. Graveside services were held Wednesday, December 21, at Pisgah cemetery with Rev. Steve Cavitt and Dr. Phillip Cook officiating. Bodkin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bryant was born November 22, 1909, in Gibson County, to the late Hall and Bessie Fesmire Pugh and had lived in Atwood most of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Milan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Robert D. Bryant; a daughter, Gail B. Espey; a brother, Robert Pugh; and three sisters, Ruth Mays, Mary Leath and Grace Mitchell.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Mawyer; two sisters, Jimma Pugh of Memphis and Virgie Cole of Martin; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Milan.

Ludell McAuley
1912-2005
HUNTINGDON - Ludell McAuley, 93, died Monday, December 19, at Milan General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, December 21, in the chapel of Dilday Funeral Home with Elder Dennie Abernathy and Elder T.L. Webb officiating. Interment icon followed in the Jamison cemetery. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McAuley was born November 17, 1912, to the late R.L. and Flora Butler Hall. She was a member of the Mud Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard McAuley; two sisters, Lalia Chandler and Irene Rushing; and a brother, Leroy Hall.
She is survived by a daughter, Edith Chandler (T.L.) Webb of Milan; a brother, John C. Hall of Huntingdon; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

James Herbert Florence
1939-2006
HOLLOW ROCK - James Herbert Florence, 66, died Sunday, February 19, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 22, at 2:00 p.m., at the Stockdale-Malin chapel in Camden with Brother Leonard Greer officiating. Interment icon will follow in Benton Memory Garden. Visitation will take place Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home.
Mr. Florence was born September 1, 1939, in Camden, to the late George M. and Edra Bell Herrin Florence. He was retired from CSX Railroad, a U.S. Army veteran, member of the Masonic Lodge and attended Prospect General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Oatsvall Florence; three daughters: Vickie (Mike) Wood of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Kimberly (Burt) Young of Buena Vista, and Leslie Florence of Bruceton; two sisters: Madeline Holland and Sue Phiter, both of Camden; three brothers: Darrell Florence, Billy Florence, and Carlton Florence, all of Camden; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Joyce Melton Baugus Dalton
1946-2006
HOLLADAY: Elizabeth Joyce Melton Baugus Dalton, 59, died Sunday, February 19, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 22, at 11:00 a.m., at the Stockdale-Malin chapel in Camden with Brother Rick Welty officiating. Interment icon will follow in Holladay cemetery. Visitation will take place beginning Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dalton was born October 29, 1946, in Camden, the late Wadie Franklin Melton and Lara Aline Pierpoint Grathwell of Big Sandy, who survives. She worked 15.5 years with the United States Postal Service, was a member of the Holladay Church of Christ, spent ten years with the Benton County Rescue Squad and approx. ten years with the Holladay-McIllwain Volunteer Department. She helped start the fire department in Holladay and McIllwain.
She is survived by her husband, Mitchell Lewis Dalton Jr.; two sons: Jamie Roy Baugus and Jason Don Baugus, both of Holladay; five sisters: Annie Mae Standridge, Margaret Markham, and Evelyn June Snyder, all of Big Sandy, Doris Ann Puckett of McKenzie, and Lisa Mitchell Bell of Paris; two brothers: Larry Ray Melton of Big Sandy and John Franklin Melton of Paris; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Raymond Edward Leitl
1961-2006
HUNTINGDON - Raymond Edward Leitl, 44, died Friday, February 17, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
Services will be conducted Wednesday, February 22, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Brother David Critchlow officiating. Interment icon will follow in the Leach Full Gospel Cemtery.
Mr. Leitl was born December 30, 1961, in Libertyville, Illinois. He was a supervisor at New Generations Company.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Leitl, paternal grandmother, Teresa Leitl, and one brother-in-law.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kimberlee Leitl; mother, Dolores Becker of Antioch, Illinois; one brother, Jeffrey (Sheryl) Leitl of Round Lake Beach, Illinois; four sister-in-laws and several nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Betty Ann Penney
1937-2006
BRUCETON - Betty Ann Penney, 68, died Friday, February 17, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis. Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 20, in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Whitworth officiating. Interment icon followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Penney was born July 4, 1937, in Cumming, Georgia, to the late Roy and Viola (Hulsey) Tallant. She was a homemaker, a wonderful cook, loved to paint, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bruceton.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Tallant, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jerry Penney; three daughters, Monica Shapiro of Jackson, Melonie Batte and Michelle (Bryan) Batte, both of Bruceton; six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and two dear friends.

Wayne David Bryant
1927-2006
TREZEVANT - Wayne David Bryant, 78, died after a long illness Friday, February 17, at his home. Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 20, at Trezevant Church of Christ with Bro. John Forgy officiating. Burial followed in Trezevant cemetery under the direction of Brummitt Funeral Home.
Mr. Bryant was born May 2, 1927, in Milan, to William Clarence and Elizabeth Frost Bryant, both deceased. He was a retired teacher, coach, and postal employee and a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Trezevant, serving as an elder, deacon, and church treasurer for 45 years. He served on the Trezevant School Board and Trezevant City Board. He was a World War II Navy veteran and member of the VFW and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Hamilton Bryant; a daughter, Frances (Ronnie) Belew of Brownsville; a son, Wayne David (Pam) Bryant, Jr. of Trezevant; two grandsons, Nick (Mandy) Bryant, and Dustin Bryant, all of Trezevant; and a brother, Jimmy Bryant of McKenzie.

Rochelle Elaine Melton
1950-2006
HUNTINGDON - Rochelle Elaine Melton, 55, died Thursday, February 16, at Milan General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, February 19, in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Hayes officiating.
Mrs. Melton was born December 27, 1950, the only child of Floyd J.W. Milam and Evelyn Milam Cozart. She was a homemaker and faithful servant of the Jehovah's Witness congregation in McKenzie.
She was preceded in death by Roland Beasley.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Thomas L. Melton; four children: Michelle M. Jones of Jackson, Alicia M. Dunlap of Nashville, Thomas J.W. Melton of Cedar Grove, and Spencer Melton of Huntingdon; two step-children: Cynthia McNeil and John Grimes of Lexington, Kentucky; two sisters: Marcella Harris of Huntingdon and Wanda Y. Ford of Nashville; three brothers: Reggie (Jeruna) Cozart of McLemoresville, Kermit M. Cozart of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jerry Greer, and a host of other family and friends.

Lorene S. Oatsvall
1912-2006
HUNTINGDON - Lorene S. Oatsvall, 94, of Huntingdon, died Thursday, February 16, at the Huntingdon Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, February 19, in the chapel of Dilday Funeral Home with Brother Larry DePriest officiating. Interment icon followed in the Palmer Shelter cemetery. Mrs. Oatsvall was born January 5, 1912, in Carroll County, to the late Murry and Fronie Weaver Smith. She was a retired nurse for Baptist Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garvin Oatsvall; two sons: Robert Carl Oatsvall and Gaylon Richard Oatsvall; three brothers: Murry Smith Jr., Billy Ray Smith, and Robert Smith; and three sisters: Pauline Bennett, Mae Pendergrass Roark and Opal Smothers.
She is survived by three daughters: Jessie Rich (Dennis) Smothers of Camden, Dotty (James) Gates of Huntingdon, and Sue (Gary) Enders of Olive Branch, Mississippi; a son, Brent (Lenita) Oatsvall of Huntingdon; a daughter-in-law, Mary Oatsvall of Huntingdon; one sister, Ludell Walker of Huntingdon; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
