Mary Elizabeth Mathey
HUNTINGDON - Ms. Mary Elizabeth Mathey, 68, died Sunday, December 16 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 19 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bernice Birdwell officiating. Interment icon will follow at Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Ms. Mathey was born November 22, 1933 in Carroll County to the late Almer and Ester McMinn. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Roger D. White of Cicero, Illinois and James W. White of Lexington and six grandchildren.

Kenneth Ray Garton
BRUCETON - Services for Mr. Kenneth Ray Garton, 49, were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 10 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Donna Jones officiating. Burial was in Martin Garton cemetery near Burns.
Mr. Garton, a retired cable splicer for AMRIETEC, died Saturday, December 8 at his residence.
He was born November 29, 1952 in Bruceton to Edith Hooper Garton and the late Rye Garton. He was a Viet Nam veteran.
Besides his mother, he leaves his wife, Nancy Garton; a daughter, Megan Garton of Dayton, Ohio; three sons, Matthew Garton and Sean Garton, both of Dayton, Ohio and Shad Garton of Ocean View, Virginia; two sisters, Martha Sue Edwards of Centerville and Cheta Williams of Hollow Rock; three brothers, James Garton of Dickson, Julius Garton of Huntingdon and Leon Garton of Bruceton.

Floy Rushing
CLARKSBURG - Floy Rushing, 93,died on Wednesday, December 5 at Methodist Hospital in Selmer. Services were conducted on Friday, December 7 at the Dilday Funeral Home in Huntingdon.
She was born June 2, 1909. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Cecil Rushing in 1994; her parents, John S. and Emma Laws, all of Clarksburg; a brother, Barton Laws of Nashville; by sisters Mamie Dill of Huntingdon, Elaine Bush of Lexington and Edith Pendergrass of Atwood; and a granddaughter, Janet Ross of Nashville.
Survivors include a brother, Dwayne W. Laws of Bowlking Green, Kentucky; a daughter, Eloise (Carl) Ross of Nashville; three sons, George Earl (Charlene) Rushing of Hendersonville; Laws (Marilyn) Rushing of Finger; and Frank (Debbie) Rushing of Dyers; grandchildren Mrs. Betsy Ketsdever of Nashville; Brian Ross of Nashville, Daphne Kirby of Nashville, Marty Rushing of Hendersonville, Mrs. Michell Avery of Talors, South Carolina, Mrs. Sonya Taylor of Bethel Springs, Dwayne Rushing and Laws Rushing, Jr. of Murfreesboro and great-grandsons William Zane Taylor of Bethel Springs and Nathan Ketsdever of Nashville and a great-granddaughter, Rachel Faith of Talors, South Carolina.

Karen S. Anderson
PARIS - Services for Karen Denise Sanders Anderson were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8 at First United Methodist Church with Johnny Emmons, Roger Banks, Phillip Cook and Laura Hays officiating. Burial was in the Sanders cemetery near Springville.
Mrs. Anderson, 38, died of cancer at her home on Thursday, December 6. She was born May 20, 1963 in Camden to Weldon Woodrow "Cotton" and Betty Lou Bain Sanders of Springville, who survive.
She was married August 2, 1996 to William E. "Bill" Anderson, Jr. who also survives.
She was a sixth-grade teacher at Henry School for six years and was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Lisa Young and Benetta Farmer of Paris; a brother Timm Sanders of Springville, and several nieces and a nephew.

Buddy Franklin McMackins
HOLLOW ROCK - Funeral services for Buddy Franklin McMackins, 62, were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5 at Prospect Church in Hollow Rock with Rev. James Daniel and Rev. Jimmy Allison officiating. Burial was in Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. McMackins, a retired coach and superintendent of Hollow Rock-Bruceton Special School District, died Monday, December 3 at Baptist Memorial Hospital of Huntingdon of heart disease.
He was born on June 21, 1939 in Carroll County to the late Russell and Jurrah McMackins. He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church and Bruceton Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Jean McMackins; a daughter, Debbie Bryant of Hollow Rock; three sons, Mike McMackins of Buena Vista, Bob McMackins of Seynour, Indiana, and Mark McMackins of Hollow Rock; a sister, Ina Belle Williams of Buena Vista; a brother, Gene Robert McMackins of Bruceton; and six grandchildren.
Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Newell D. Jordan
BUENA VISTA - Funeral services for Newell D. Jordan, 88, were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 6 at the Stockdale-Malin Chapel with Bro. Arzell Douglass officiating. Burial followed in Crossroads cemetery.
Mr. Jordan, a retired employee with Hardy Sand Co., died Tuesday, December 4 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
He was born February 7, 1913 in Benton County to the late James Wrightman Jordan and Docia Hicks Jordan. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Louise Jordan; two daughters, Norma Jean Hilliard of Buena Vista and Brenda Gale Mason of Dresden; a son, Glendell D. Jordan of Trinity, Alabama; a sister, Cosette Melton of Paris; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

James Harold "Jimmy" Adkins
MANCHESTER, TN: Funeral services for James Harold "Jimmy" Atkins, age 65, were conducted Tuesday, December 11, at 1 p.m. from Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Don Gallagher officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Atkins died Saturday afternoon at his residence after a brief illness. He was born May 16, 1936 in Lexington, the son of the late James Garfield Atkins and Nadine Butler Atkins. He was a member of the Davis Chapel Methodist Church in Huntingdon. Mr. Adkins was a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Lester Atkins of Manchester; daughters, Rhonda Richardson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jackie Vickers of Manchester; two step-sons, Ted Lester and Bryan Lester, both also of Manchester; two grandchildren, Natalie Richardson and Ben Richardson; and four step-grandchildren, Ray Lester, Hannah Lester, Kayla Lester and Samantha Lester.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of the Highland Rim.
Manchester Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Maurice Love McKennie
McKENZIE - Services for Maurice Love McKennie, 76, were on Sunday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home with Brother Dennis Beal officiating. Burial was in Enon cemetery.
Mr. McKennie, a retired self-employed construction worker, died Friday, December 7 at Oak Manor Health Care Center in McKenzie.
He was born December 3, 1925 in McKenzie to the late Annie Lou Barker McKennie and Preston Polk McKennie. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church and a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Berneal Zigler McKennie; a son, Gary McKennie of McKenzie; three sisters, Sue Nell Wilson, Joyce McDearmon and Patty Foster, all of McKenzie; two brothers, H. R. and Wayne McKennie, both of McKenzie; two grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Alton L. Bailey
HOLLOW ROCK - Services for Alton L. Bailey, 76, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8 at Bruceton Funeral Home with the Revs. Jack Hopper and Billy Joe Hilliard officiating. Burial was in New Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Bailey, a retired line operator for Milan Arsenal, died Thursday, December 6 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
He was born September 19, 1925 in Carroll County to the late Will and Ester Lee Bradford Bailey.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Patterson Bailey; a daughter, Caryl Gene Mitchell of Huntingdon; a son, Daryl Lee Bailey of Huntingdon; a stepdaughter, Debra Kay Swierk of Yuma; two stepsons, Terry Lee Haskins of Camden and Tony Ron Haskins of Hollow Rock; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Jacob Edward Brewer
HUNTINGDON - Graveside services for Jacob Edward Brewer, infant son of Debbie Joyner and Steven Brewer were conducted on Saturday, December 8 at Christian Chapel cemetery with Dr. Stephen Atwood officiating.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Corey Reuter; paternal grandparents, Byford and Barbara Kehrer and his maternal grandfather, John S. Joyner.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Callie Rogers
McKENZIE - Services for Mrs. Callie Rogers, 98, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13 at St. James CME Church-Dresden. Burial will follow in Sunrise cemetery in Dresden.
Mrs. Rogers, a housewife, died Friday, December 7 at Methodist Hospital, McKenzie of heart failure.
She was born in Dresden to the late Willie and Ella Brasfield Jones. She was a member of St. James CME Church in Dresden. Her husband, W. C. Rogers, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Mable S. Taylor of McKenzie; a stepsister Carolyn Bryant of Indiana; six grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

Leola Burrow Hill
BRUCETON - Services for Leola Burrow Hill, 86, will be Wednesday, December 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. James McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Hill died Monday, December 10 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
She was born September 8, 1915 to the late Geneva Finley Burrow and John Dudley Burrow. She was a member of the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Doc L. Hill; a daughter, Susan Hill of Bruceton; and two sisters, Faye Ridley and Mardell McDeramon, both of McKenzie.
A brother, Ben W. Burrow, preceded her in death.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Janie Hester Hicks
McKENZIE - Services for Janie Hester Hicks, 76, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 12 at LeDon Chapel, Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris with Bro. John Adams officiating. Burial will be in Wilder cemetery.
Mrs. Hicks, an 18-year employee with Brown Shoe Company in McKenzie, died Monday, December 10 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
She was born January 12, 1925 in Humboldt to the late Johnny Thompson and Ellen Spencer Thompson. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Garry Hicks of McKenzie; two brothers, Buddy Thompson and Junior Thompson, both of Cottonwood Point, Missouri; a sister, Louise Whitney of West Memphis, Arkansas; a half-sister, Delores Brown of Mississippi; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, John Henry Hicks; a son, John Gilbert Hicks and a brother, Donald Thompson.

Leonidas Roditis
1943-2002
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Leonidas S. Roditis, 59, passed away August 27 at his home following a long illness. A memorial graveside service will be held at the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian cemetery on Friday, September 6 at 3:30 p.m.
Mr. Roditis is survived by three sons, Spiros Roditis of McKenzie, Vasilios Roditis of Cincinnati, Ohio and Thomas Roditis of Los Angeles, California; his companion, Jean Thompson of Los Angeles, California; two brothers, Alexander and John Roditis; three sisters, Vasiliki Pareskeva, Aspasia Athanasaki and Yianoula Polichroni; and five grandchildren, Ellie, Jason, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Matthew Roditis.
