Amelia Marcella Ellerbeck
1910-2002
CAMDEN - Services for Amelia Marcella Ellerbeck, 92, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 1 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eulas Greer officiating. Burial was to be in Highland Memory Garden in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mrs. Ellerbeck, a retired nurse, died on August 29 at the Camden Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on May 2, 1910 in Magnolia, Iowa to the late Julius Henry Netsch and Eunice Addaline Francis Netsch. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ivin Ellerbeck.
Survivors include three daughters, Eleanor Peebles of Camden, Marilyn Van Askel of Yelm, Washington and Merna Bridgeman of Livingston, Texas; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Freda L. Bennett
1909-2002
HOLLOW ROCK - Services for Freda L. Bennett, 93, were on 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31 at Prospect Baptist Church in Hollow Rock with the Rev. James Daniel officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
She died on Sunday, August 25 in Warren, Michigan.
Mrs. Bennett was born in White Bluff to the late Hardy and Ethel Hooper Walker on July 15, 1909. She was a member of the Prospect Baptist Church. Her husband, Wendell M. Bennett and two children, Wallace Neal Bennett and Jackie Neal Bennett also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Plotzke of Marine City, Michigan; one son, Billy Bennett of Warren, Michigan; one brother, J.W. McGee of Huntingdon; two grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Kimberly Ann Kapsalis
1985-2002
HOLLOW ROCK - Miss Kimberly Ann Kapsalis, 17, died Thursday, August 29 at the Henry County Medical Center of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Graveside services were conducted on Sunday, September 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Palmer Shelter cemetery with Brother Lynn Stapleton officiating.
Miss Kapsalis was born March 31, 1985 in Libertyville, Illinois.
Survivors include her parents, Albert and Joanna Smith Kapsalis, one sister, Angela Kapsalis and one brother, Albert Kapsalis, all of Hollow Rock; her maternal grandparents, Darrell and Carrie Smith of Huntingdon and her paternal grandmother, Charlotte Kapsalis of Wentworth, Wisconsin.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Nell Marie Rich
1924-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Nell Marie Rich, 78, died Tuesday, August 27 at her home. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, August 30 at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Scott Carter, Brother Phillip Halter and Brother Johnny Boyd officiating.
Mrs. Rich was born January 5, 1924 in Fulton, Kentucky to the late Wayne and Virgie Reynolds Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, Ray Rich, who passed away on September 26, 1981; two sons, Wayne Massey Rich and Tharon Neal Rich; one daughter, Beverly Joyce Rich and one brother, Donald Smith preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Virginia DePriest, Janet Bybee and Nelda Hawkins, all of Huntingdon; four sons, Glendon Rich, Terry Rich, Billy Mac Rich, all of Huntingdon and Gordy Rich of Newbern; three brothers, Joe Wayne Smith of Murray, Kentucky, Carl Smith of McKenzie and Warren Smith of Huntingdon; two sisters, Mary Katherine Wollums of Roscoe, Illinois and Ann Bennett of Belvidere, Illinois; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-step-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Steve Beasley
1956-2002
MILAN - Services for Mr. Steve Beasley, 46, were at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 29 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
Mr. Beasley, a retired employee of The Milan Arsenal, died Monday, August 26 at his home. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, the Milan Quarterback Club and Quail Unlimited.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Beasley; three sons, Jerry Stephen Beasley, Jr., Brian Beasley, and Daniel Beasley, all of Milan; his mother, Carol Ann Bryant of Trezevant, his father, Jerry Beasley of Springville; two sisters, Lesa McNabb of Milan and Deborah Scott of Catawba, Virginia; one brother, Bill Beasley of Hendersonville; and his grandfather, Larry W. Parker of Cedar Grove.
Bodkin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Clayton Lloyd Haywood
1940-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Clayton Lloyd Haywood, 62, died Thursday, August 29 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, August 31 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John D. Small and Bro. Billy Williams officiating. Interment icon followed in the Sellers Hill cemetery.
Mr. Haywood was born March 20,194o in Carroll County to the late Thomas Leroy and Ima Jewel Carnal Haywood. He was a member of the Clarksburg Church of Christ, a retired truck driver for Allen Ritchie Company and an avid fisherman. One daughter, Donna Haywood and one brother, Alton Haywood, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Haywood; two daughters, Lisa Collins of Huntingdon and Amanda Maness of Lexington; one son, Tim Haywood of Knoxville; two sisters, Mary Morgan and Sara Ballard, both of Clarksburg; five brothers, Tom Haywood, Joe Haywood, Bobby Haywood, all of Huntingdon Paul Haywood of Clarksburg and Pete Haywood of Alamo, Kentucky, and eight grandchildren.

Eddith Nolen Butler
1923-2002
Mrs. Eddith Nolen Butler, 79, died on Monday, September 2 at her home. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, September 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wendell Boyd officiating. Interment icon followed in Jamison cemetery.
Mrs. Butler was born January 23, 1923 in Carroll County to the late William Ed and Viola Boyd Nolen. She was a retired employee of Henry I. Siegel and a member of the Westport Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, Roy Butler and one son, Milton Butler, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Rena Hayes of Huntingdon and Starla Renfroe of Westport; one brother, Eldon Nolen of Hollow Rock; two sisters, Wanda Noles of Hollow Rock and Kay Ward of Huntingdon; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Billy M. Cary
1940-2002
HUNTINGDON - Billy M. Cary, 61, died on Sunday, September 1 at his home. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Huntingdon on Wednesday, September 4 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cary, the son of Eddie Graper Cary and Evelyn Williams Cary, was born September 4, 1940. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Carroll Bank & Trust from 1972 through July 2002. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 1972 until the present. He and his long-time business partner, Billy B. Tines, purchased Carroll Bank & Trust (formerly Bank of McLemoresville) in 1972. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntingdon, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis and was the Chairman of the Board of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Huntingdon. He was a former trustee of Bethel College.
Mr. Cary served his community in many ways and was honored as the Carroll County Businessperson of the Year in 1987, Carroll Countian of the Year in 1994 and Outstanding Citizens of the Town of Huntingdon in 2001. He was a graduate of Clarksburg High School, Bethel College, and the Graduate School of Banking at LSU. He was an avid sportsman and a good steward of the land.
Billy is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Sylvia C. Cary; two sons, Michael E. Cary of Huntingdon and Mark E. Cary of Memphis; his mother, Evelyn Williams Cary of Westport; a brother, Barry Cary and his wife Janice of Jackson; two daughters-in-law, the former Mary Susan Hodges of Huntingdon and the former Laura Lee Fontana of Memphis; two grandsons, Carter Benton Cary of Huntingdon and Ethan Mark Cary of Memphis; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Huntingdon or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be from 1:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, until the time of service on Wednesday.

Jeffrey Wayne Patterson
1973-2002
BRUCETON - Services for Jeffrey Wayne Patterson were at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 29 at Stockdale-Malin Chapel with Bro. Billy Joe Hilliard officiating. Burial was in the Davis Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Patterson, an inspector, died Tuesday, August 27 at his residence.
He was born July 16, 1973 in Benton County to the late Velma Larue Crider Patterson and Arthur Patterson.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Patterson; one daughter, Rebecca Sue Patterson; one son, Dustin Blake Patterson, all of Bruceton; two sisters, Carol Hopper of Bruceton and Geneva Bailey of Hollow Rock; seven brothers, Justin Douglas of Hollow Rock, James "Bo" Patterson of Camden, Bobby Patterson and Billy Patterson, both of Bruceton, Danny Patterson of Huntingdon, Ricky Patterson of North Carolina and Charles Patterson of Camden and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Christine Hilliard, preceded him in death.

Nellie Seals
1915-2002
CEDAR GROVE - Graveside services for Nellie Seals were on Saturday, August 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Magnolia cemetery in Brownsville.
Ms. Seals died Thursday, August 29 at Crestview Healthcare Center in Brownsville.
Rawls Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Inez Arnold Pritchard
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Inez Arnold Pritchard, 69, died Sunday, December 9 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, December 11 at the Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Lynn Stapleton officiating. Interment icon followed at Crossroads cemetery in Benton County.
Mrs. Pritchard was born April 11, 1932 in Benton County. She was a member of the Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church and a retired surgical technician at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Preceding her in death, were her father, Hermon Arnold and a brother, Jessie Lynn Arnold.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Pritchard; her mother, Viva Smothers Arnold of Camden; five daughters, Patricia Coleman and Kathy Tosh, both of Huntingdon, Terry Jean Pritchard, Beverly Kay Copeland and Donna Rae Underwood, all of Bakersfield, California; two son, Randy Pritchard and Eddie Pritchard, both of Bakersfield, California; one sister, Patty Rutledge of Holladay; two brothers, Willard Arnold of Camden and Jimmy Arnold of Greenfield; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be sent to the Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Dwayne E. "Bubba" Melton Jr.
McKENZIE - Dwayne E. "Bubba" Melton Jr., 34, died Monday at his home at 510 Mitchell Road in the Henry County portion of McKenzie. Funeral services were incomplete at presstime with Brummitt Funeral Home of McKenzie in charge.
Mr. Melton was owner and instructor at World Class Fitness Center in McKenzie. He served as Tennessee Chairman of the North American Strongman Society. He has won many competitions in strength and weight lifting competition.
He was also a member of the Omega Force and Extreme Strength Team, which are both Christian-based ministries. He traveled extensively in the U.S. promoting Christ through this ministry.
He was a 1985 graduate of McKenzie High School.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Curtis Melton of McKenzie; one daughter, Caitlyn Melton of McKenzie; his father, Dwayne E. Melton Sr. of McKenzie; a sister, Derinda Wade of McKenzie.
His mother, Oleta Melton and a sister, Charlotte Melton Harris preceded him in death.
