LAVINIA - Funeral services for Ralph Ray Moore, 57, were Sunday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Latham's Chapel cemetery in Gibson County.
Mr. Moore died on Thursday, August 1 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
He was born in Gibson County, educated in county schools and was the son of the late Autis Ray Moore and Dovie Frances Usery Moore. He was a Baptist in belief. He served Gibson County four years as sheriff and then moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where he was a security guard.
Surviving are a close friend, Linda Gilley Flowers of Lavinia; two sons, Leroy Moore of Kernes, Texas and Anthony Moore of Dyer; four sisters, Bonnie Sue Campbell of Trenton, Fay Carey of Dyer, Pauline Reynolds of Gleason, and Yvonne Ramos of Pontiac, Michigan; a brother, C.L. Moore of Rutherford and eight grandchildren.
A brother, Gene Moore, preceded him in death.
Jo Evelyn Watson

HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Jo Evelyn Watson, 51, died Tuesday, July 30 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, August 1 at 1:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Rick Crossno officiating. Interment
followed at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Watson was born December 3, 1950 in Carroll County to the late O.T. "Red" and Johnetta Abbott Harris. She was a homemaker. A sister, Dorothy Sullivan and a brother, Mike Harris, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Roger Watson, Sr.; one daughter, Rhonda Hurlbert of Huntingdon; three sons, Roger Dale Watson of Trezevant, Brian Watson and Gregory Watson, both of Huntingdon; one stepdaughter, Tammy Gwaltney of McKenzie; two stepsons, Ricky Watson of Nashville and Dean Watson of Paris; three brothers, Bobby Harris of McKenzie, Ricky Harris of Huntingdon and Jimmy Harris of Jackson; and seven grandchildren.
Teressa Jean Wells
1967-2002
Teressa Jean Wells, 35, of Gleason passed away on August 2 at McKenzie Methodist Hospital. She was the wife of Marion Lafate Wells, Jr. and the mother of Marion Lafate Wells, III, James William Wells and Elizabeth Jane Wells, all of Gleason. She was the daughter of Mary Jane Cahill of Henry and the late Jerry Christian of Tiptonville.
She leaves behind three brothers, David Christian of Henry, Billy Christian of Benton, Kentucky, Roger Christian of McKenzie. One brother, Ricky Christian of Martin preceded her in death.
She also leaves behind one sister, Becky Fryhover of Henry and also her mother by marriage, Joyce Wells and father by marriage Marion Wells, Sr.
Services will be held at McKenzie Church of God. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 6 at 2:00. The funeral will begin that night at 8:00 p.m. The pastor officiating will be Bro. Clarence Depew.
Brummitt Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
Billy J. Blanks
MILAN - Services for Mr. Billie J. Blanks, 71,were on Monday, July 23 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Cavitt officiating. Bodkin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements and burial was in the Trezevant cemetery.
Mr. Blanks died on July 20 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital of cancer.
He was a reitred vice-president of Farmers & Merchants Bank in Trezevant; a member of the Trezevant United Methodist Church; the Milan Golf and Country Club and the West Tennessee Seniors Golf Association. He was also a U. S. Air Force Korean Conflict era veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbye Blanks; two daughters, Barbara Arrington of Milan and Montie Smith of Richmond, Virginia; two sons, Robert Barbour and Thorne Barbour, both of Milan; his mother, Kathleen Blanks of Trezevant; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
Thomas Harold Pruitt
McKENZIE - Services for Thomas Harold Pruitt, 65, were at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 23 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Burial was in Enon cemetery.
Mr. Pruitt, former employee of Diamond Rio in Lansing, Michigan and also of the City of Trezevant, died Monday morning, July 23 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
He was born December 27, 1935 in McKenzie.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam Kissane of Lansing, Michigan and Tamara Clark of Eaton Ridge, Michigan; a son, Thomas Earl Pruitt of Land O'Lake, Florida, his mother, Mattie Pruitt of McKenzie; two sisters, Mary Lee Ellis of Huntingdon and Margie Davis of Clarksville and six grandchildren.
Lois Pickler Merrick
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Lois Pickler Merrick, 99, died Sunday, July 22 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 25 at the Huntingdon First Baptist Church with Brother Fred Ward officiating. Interment
will follow in the Oak Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Merrick was born July 19, 1902 to the late Arden and Irene Thomason Pickler in Carroll County. She was a retired employee of Modern Day Cleaners and a member of the Huntingdon First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Molton Merrick.
She is survived by one brother, A. V. Pickler of Chattanooga.

Harold Lloyd Carter
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Harold Lloyd Carter, 71, died Tuesday, October 2 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, October 4 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Brothers Larry Pinson, Rufus Chandler and Philip Halters officiating, Interment
followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Carter was born September 25, 1930 to the late Charlie and Lilley Carter in Carroll County. He was a retired Rabies Control officer for 30 years, a Carroll County Schools bus driver for 25 years and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World and a former member of the Huntingdon Ruritan Club. He was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Foster; and two brothers, Howard Carter and Gerald Carter.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy Newman Carter; one daughter, Michelle Eaton of McKenzie; two sons, Tim Carter and Kevin Carter, both of Huntingdon; two sisters, Edith Mason and Betty Meggs, both of Huntingdon; three brothers, Clarence Carter, John Carter and Giles Carter, all of Huntingdon and four grandchildren.

Daisy Uneta Nolen
McKENZIE - Services for Daisy Uneta Nolen, 82 will be Saturday, October 13 at Obion River District Headquarters in McKenzie with the Rev. Joe H. Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Trinity Funeral Home in Paris is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Nolen, widow of Nathaniel Nolen, died Wednesday, October 3 at her residence.
She was born February 6, 1919 in Covington to the late Obediah Reynolds and Daisy Chatman Reynolds. She was a member of Enon Missionary Baptist Church and served as youth director at Enon and Obion River District for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Daisy Dudley of McKenzie and Vitular Gilbert of Chicago, Illinois; two sons, James Nolen of Chicago, Illinois and Terry Nolen of McKenzie; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Minnie "Zolline" Ellis

Mrs. Ellis died on Wednesday, February 2, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
She was born February 21, 1934, in Carroll County, to the late Henry Zollie Massey and Verda Noles Massey. She was a retired seamstress for the Publix Shirt Corporation and a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, David Massey.
Survivors include her husband, L.D. Ellis; a daughter, Sherry Grose; two sons, Johnny Ellis and Danny Ellis, all of Buena Vista; two sisters, Shelby Crocker of Midway and Laura Hallowell of Kingston Springs; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Evelyn Morgan

MILAN - Services for Dorothy Evelyn Morgan, 81, formerly of Gleason, were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 3, at First Baptist Church in Gleason with the Rev. Kenny Carr officiating. Burial was in Hopewell cemetery.
Mrs. Morgan, a retired employee of Baby Shoe Company, died Tuesday, February 1, at the Milan General Hospital.
She was born October 5, 1923, to the late Acie and Vessie Gurley Ervin. She was a member of the Gleason First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Gary Morgan of Phoenix, Arizona; a daughter, Carol Davis of Milan; a brother, Robert Theron Ervin of Fort Myers, Florida; three sisters, Mildred Coleman of McKenzie, Hazel Jackson of Hohenwald and Donna Packer of Vernonville, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
John "Claudie" Jones

McKENZIE - Services for John "Claudie" Jones, 79, were held on Thursday, February 3, at 2:00 p.m., at the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Vance Rushing officiating. Interment

Mr. Jones died on Monday, January 31, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Jones was born July 20, 1925, in Medina, to the late Elmer Claudie Jones and Flora Mae Cunningham Jones. He was a retired production worker for the Plumley Rubber Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Mae Edwards Jones.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Dodd; three sons, William Jones, Rex Jones and Robert Jones, all of McKenzie; two sisters, Nellie Matlock of Trezevant and Galinda Hudgins of Knoxville; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Erlene Laverne Adams

McKENZIE - Graveside services for Earlene Laverne Adams, 89, were at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, at Carroll Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jim Roberts officiating. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Adams, a homemaker, died Monday, January 31, at Huntingdon Health and Rehab Center.
She was born August 12, 1915, in Carroll County, to the late Victoria Tate Cox and Earl B. Cox. She was a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Ronnie Adams of Big Sandy; a daughter, Barbara Tatum of Milan; a sister, Mary Sue Reed of Memphis; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ray Adams, and a brother, Robert Earl Cox.
Billy Woodruff
1933-2005
McKENZIE - Private services for Billy Woodruff, 71, will be held at a later date. The body was cremated.
Mr. Woodruff died Sunday, January 30, at his home.
He was born July 11, 1933, in Freeport, Texas. He was a 23-year veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam era. He was a mechanical engineer for Mobile Oil Company for nine years in Dallas and Nigeria. He was also a member and elder at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include his wife, Sammye Woodruff; his mother, Thelma Mae Gifford Woodruff of Freeport, Texas; four daughters, Rebecca Hall of Lewisville, Texas; Julia Rasmussen of Brazoria, Texas; Robbye Goodard of Taiwan; and Brenda Jeffries of Tyler, Texas; a son, James Floyd Woodruff of Rathdrum, Idaho; two sisters, Dorothy Niedelman of Austin, Texas and Linda Doolan of Friendswood, Texas; a brother, Robert Woodruff of Freeport, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sanford Amos Woodruff, Jr.
