Marvin L. Pullom
McKENZIE - Services for Marvin Landis Pullom, 85, of McKenzie were at noon on Saturday, December 1 at the Obion River District Headquarters in McKenzie with Rev. Henry Cunningham officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mr. Pullom died Saturday, November 24 at Methodist Hospital of McKenzie. He was a veteran and served in the U. S. Army. He was a bus driver for Crockett County schools, worked for many years at the Milan Arsenal in Milan and was a farmer by trade. He was an active member of Johnson Temple CME Church. He was also an active leader in the Obion River District Association, which includes churches in Henry County.
Born March 26, 1916 n Crockett County, he was the son of the late William and Cleopara Swift Pullom. He was married to the former Lena Mae Woods, who died in 1997. A son, Bobby Journett, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include nine daughters, Freddie Jackson, Sadie Conley, Virginia Marlow, Jeanette Whitmore, Barbara Pullom and Gloria Pullom, all of Cleveland; Nancy Duckworth and Janice Pullom of McKenzie and Marilyn Ray of Lexington; seven sons, Billy Dean Nance of Gary, Indiana, Landis Pullom of Dallas, Texas, Samuel Pullom of Atlanta Georgia, Charles Pullom of McKenzie and Johnny Pullom, Kenneth Pullom of Cleveland, Ohio and Larry Pullom of Cleveland, TN; one sister, Hattie H. Montgomery of Bells; two brothers, Doyle Pullom of Spokane, Washington and Billy L. Pullom of Maury City; 30 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ruby Hayes Argo
TREZEVANT - Services for Ruby Hayes Argo, 96, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 1 at First Baptist Church in Trezevant with Malcolm Norton and Bro. Harris officiating. Interment icon followed in the Trezevant cemetery.
Mrs. Argo, a homemaker, died Thursday, November 29 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trezevant and Order of the Eastern Start.
She was born December 25, 1904 in Atwood to the late Walter and Cora Lee West Hayes. Her husband, L. A. Argo, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Davison of Trezevant and a son, John H. Argo of Atwood; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Brummitt Funeral Home of Trezevant was in charge of the arrangements.

Carolyn Bramley
MEMPHIS - Miss Carolyn Bramley, 85, died Thursday, November 29 at her home in Memphis. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, December 1 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tommy Martin officiating. Interment icon followed at McLemoresville cemetery.
Miss Bramley was born January 28, 1916 in McLemoresville to the late Adrain and Ardie Holmes Bramley. She was a homemaker and a member of the McLemoresville Methodist Church. A sister, Evelyn Price, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by a niece, Lyn Pace Wright and two great-nieces, Marylyn Wright and Hilary Wright, all of Birmingham, Alabama.

Clara Bell Odle
ATWOOD - Funeral services for Clara Bell Odle, 75, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 2, at the Bond Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed.
Ms. Odle died Friday, November 30 at the Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon of heart disease.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Roberson of Atwood and a sister, Cynthia Thomas of Huntingdon.

Chessie Thomas Haggard
McKENZIE - Services for Mr. Chessie Thomas Haggard, 84, were at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 4 at Paddord Scotts Hill Chapel with burial in Peace Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Haggard, a retired teacher, died Sunday, December 2 at McKenzie Methodist Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Haggard; a son, Freddy M. Haggard of Beverly, Kentucky; a brother, R. L. Pratt of Scotts Hill and two grandchildren.

Maxie Brush Burroughs
McKENZIE - Funeral services for Maxie Brush Burroughs, 92, were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 27 at Brummitt Funeral Home. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Burroughs, a homemaker, died Saturday, August 25 at McKenzie Health Care Center in McKenzie of heart failure. She was a member of the McKenzie First United Methodist Church.
She was born November 21, 1908 in Weakley County to the late Lou Ellen Trentham Brush and William Henry Brush, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe D. Burroughs.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Thomas of Madison, Alabama and Janie Hopewell of Smyrna; a sister, Vaughnell Webb of McKenzie; a brother, Williard Brush of McKenzie; four grandchildren, Jana Thomas, John Thomas, Phillip Rorer and David Rorer; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah Rorer, Rachel Rorer and Trey Thomas.

Allie Mae Meggs
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Allie Mae Meggs, 90, died Tuesday, August 21 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Corey Meggs and Bro. Darrell Pollock officiating. Interment icon followed in the Jones cemetery at Parkers Crossroads.
Mrs. Meggs was born March 18, 1911 in Decatur County to the late Noah and Azalee Rhodes Lunsford. She proclaimed Christ in the Pentecostal fiath and was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Odie Richard Meggs on January 18, 1998.
She is survived by one daughter, Nellovene Pollock of Huntingdon; two sons, Charlie Meggs of Huntingdon and Larry Meggs of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two brothers, R. T. Lunsford and N. T. Lunsford, both of Lexington; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Carl Luther Seets
Carl Luther Seets was born May 6, 1916 in Dyer to James L. (Professor J. L. Seets) and Eva J. Seets. He joined the Celestial Choir on August 3.
On completion of high school, he furthered his education and received a bachelor's degree in sociology and a masters in social work. He served his country in the U. S. Army and after receiving an honorable discharge, became a high school principal.
Later, he and his wife, Willie Mae McNeely of Memphis, relocated to Los Angeles, California. He was employed by the Los Angeles Probation Department and then joined the U. S. Postal Service from which he retired.
His loving wife, Willie Mae, brother-in-law, Dr. J. Harrison; sister-in-law Helen Hooks, godson Dalton Hooks all are joined by a host of relatives, friends and neighbors in remembrance and appreciation of his life.

James C. "Jim" Barksdale
HOOVER, ALABAMA: James C. "Jim" Barksdale passed away August 19. He was a native of McKenzie and a graduate of Bethel College. He was also a graduate of Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking of the South and held a Certified Commercial Lender's Certificate from the American Banker's Association. Having been with SBA from 1959-2000, Barksdale served in several capacities prior to his appointment as district director in 1975.
Jim Barksdale retired as a Commander in the U. S. Naval Reserve. He was a member of the Alabama Rural Development Council, Alabama District Export Council, and the Birmingham Federal Executives Association. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Fellowship House in Birmingham and was a member of the Executive Advisory Board of the South Regions Minority Business Council headquarters in Mobile. He was a longtime member of the Green Valley Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Davidson Barksdale and their three sons, Dr. Alan Barksdale of Florence, Alabama, Brian Barksdale of Hoover and Dr. Kevin Barksdale of Memphis and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 22 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with burial in the Southern Heritage cemetery. Dr. Cedil Sewell, Dr. Eugene Nail and Dr. Wayne Crumpton officiated.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Green Valley Baptist Church Building Fund, 1815 Patton Chapel Rd., Hoover, AL 35226 or Shades Crest Baptist Church Memorial Fund at 452 Park Ave., Hoover, AL 35226.

Billy Don Foster
TREZEVANT - Services for Billy Don Foster, 58, were held at First Baptist Church in Trezevant at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, with Rev. Ron Cox, Bro. John Forgy, and Rev. Malcolm Norton officiating. Burial was in Trezevant cemetery.
Mr. Foster, manager of Weakley County, Co-op in Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 21 at McKenzie Methodist Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Trezevant.
He was born August 19, 1943 in Atwood to the late Frances Elizabeth Robinson Foster and William Cody Foster, Jr.
Survivors include a son, Don Foster of Trezevant; two brothers, Dannie Foster and Stephen Foster, both of Trezevant; and three grandchildren.

Aileen Mai Johnson
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Aileen Mai Johnson, 99, died Wednesday, August 22 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, August 24 at New Crossroads Baptist Church with Brother Dwight Haskins officiating. Interment icon followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was born July 31, 1902 in Carroll County, to the late David and Josie Bell Johnson Wyatt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Austin Johnson, who died in 1975. She was a member of New Crossroads Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Miss Excel Goodrum
HUNTINGDON - Miss Excel Goodrum, 81, died Tuesday, August 21 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services were conducted on Wednesday, August 22 at Liberty All cemetery with Bro. David Clubb officiating.
Miss Goodrum was born August 7, 1920 to the late James Phil and Anna Bell Floyd Goodrum in Carroll County. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Kala Denise McDaniel
CAMDEN - Kala Denise McDaniel, 43, died Tuesday, August 21 at Paris Manor Nursing Home in Paris. Funeral services were conducted at Stockdale Malin Chapel in Camden with Bro. Tim McGehee officiating. Burial was in Trezevant cemetery in Trezevant.
Mrs. McDaniel was born February 7, 1958 in Trezevant to the late Sam Lester and Thelma Louise Marshall Norwood. She was a teacher's aide and a member of First Baptist Church in Trezevant.
Survivors include Kevin McDaniel of Camden; one daughter, Kelisa McDaniel of Camden; and one sister, Peggy Brevard of Big Sandy.

Robert L. Hart
ATWOOD - Services for Robert L. Hart, 53, were at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 23 at Bodkin Funeral Home. Burial was in Pisgah cemetery.
Mr. Hart was a former employee for Diamond International and was a member of the Harmony Primitive Baptist Church. He passed away on Monday, August 20 at Jackson Madison County Hospital.
Survivors include a daugher, Michelle Hart of Atwood; a son, Roger Hart of Lavinia; a stepmother, Louise Hart of Cedar Grove; five sisters, Leta Bishop of Memphis, Chris Rogers of Conway, Arkansas, Judy McCann of Jackson, Pansy Parham of McKenzie and Lucille Smith of Bruceton; two brothers, Aaron Hart of Huntingdon and Steve Hart of Cedar Grove and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Hart.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Disabilities Society.

James Kenneth "Dude" Bogle
BUCHANAN: James Kenneth "Dude" Bogle, 67, was dead on arrival Saturday, June 23 at Henry County Medical Center. Services were at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 26 at McEvoy Funeral Home, with Joseph L. Paolozz of St. Jude Catholic Church in Martin officiating. Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Born in McKenzie on April 8, 1934, he was the son of Thomas Wilce Bogle and Cathleen Haddock Bogle, both deceased. He was married September 4, 1960 to the former Leah Lasseigne, who survives.
Bogle retired in 1985 as a cable locator after 35 years with South Central Bell. He was an army veteran and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Church in Walls, Mississippi.
He leaves two daughters, Cynthia Lynn Newmann of Atlanta and Melinda Anne Logan of Nesbit, Mississippi; one son, James Kenneth Bogle, Jr. of Atlanta; six sisters, Eloise Garner of Buchanan, June Ownby and Mary Jo Vaughn, both of McKenzie, Glenda Hodges of Gleason, Demetra Steele of Nashville and Mildred Aitken of Taft, California and seven grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Novacine Scott and a brother, Thomas Steven Bogle.
