Tennessee, U.S., Delayed Birth Records, 1869-1909
Herman "Dike" Haynes
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Services for Herman "Dike" Haynes, 75, were at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 9 at Holy Temple Baptist Church with the Revs. Walter Word and L. Ann Barnes officiating. Interment icon was in Veterans Memorial cemetery.
Mr. Haynes, a retired employee of the Milwaukee Road Railroad and the Heiner Warner Company, died Saturday, November 3.
He was born June 29, 1926, to the late Buddy and Pokey Haynes in Henry.
Survivors include a son, Herman Haynes, Jr.; two daughters, Darlene Haynes and Vickie Haynes; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Chester S. Schantz
HOLLOW ROCK - Chester S. Schantz, 92, died Wednesday, November 14 at the home of a daughter, Ruth Ann Mann in Hollow Rock. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17 at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris with Richard C. Denton and Steve Whitworth officiating. Burial was in the New Hope United Methodist Church cemetery near Hollow Rock.
Born June 17, 1909 in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Socrates John Schantz and Caroline Foster Schantz.
He was married December 19, 1930 to the former Agnes Irene Pruett, who died April 29, 1997.
Schantz was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church near Hollow Rock.
A retired carpenter, he was a member of the American Local 417 United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners in St. Louis. He was a lifetime Boy Scout and a Scoutmaster in St. Louis.
Survivors include one other daughter, Pam Blossom of Innsbrook, Missouri; two sons, Don Schantz of Innsbrook and Bob Schantz of Foristell, Missouri; one sister, Louise Clark of Newark, Ohio; one brother, Thomas Schantz of St. Louis; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Catherine Golden, Caroline Clark, and June and Alberta Haemmerle and four brothers, Socrates, Edwin, Francis and Walter Schantz.

J. D. Blankenship
HUNTINGDON - Mr. J. D. Blankenship, 77, died Friday, November 16 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, November 19 at the Smyrna Baptist Church with Rev. Parker officiating. Interment icon followed at New Bethel cemetery.
Mr. Blankenship was born December 10, 1923 to the late Dewey and Clara Robertson Blankenship in Carroll County. He was a member of Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church. A sister, Irene Bishop, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Blankenship; one son, John Blankenship of Germany; three daughters, Loraine Bentell, Kim Blankenship and Yolanda Blankenship, all of Carroll County; two brothers, James Blankenship and Chester Blankenship, both of Cedar Grove; two sisters, Maurine Hollingsworth of Bruceton and Lucille Jones of Cedar Grove.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Clarence Tyler Ellis
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Clarence Tyler Ellis, 72, died Thursday, November 15 at his home. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 17 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lynn Stapleton, Brother Johnny Boyd and John Everett Williams officiating. Interment icon followed at Davis Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Ellis was born April 6, 1929 to the late Roy and Ada Hollowell Ellis in Carroll County. He was a retired employee for the State of Tennessee and a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. A daughter, Linda Faye Ellis, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Faye Autry Ellis; two sons, Jimmy Ellis and Jerry Ellis, both of Huntingdon; one brother, Roy Ellis, Jr. of Clarksburg; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Sheila Ann Patterson
CAMDEN - Services for Sheila Ann Patterson, 49, were at 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 19 at Stockdale-Malin Chapel in Camden with burial at Sandy Point. Ms. Patterson, a nurse, died Sunday, November 18 at her residence in Camden of cancer.
Survivors include her mother, Sylvia Patterson of Camden, a daughter Krystal Leann Bell of Camden; a son, Mark Duane Fields of Camden; two sisters, Shirley Ruth Lag and Betty Faye Patterson, both of Camden and a brother, Charles Wade Patterson, of Bruceton.

Minnie E. Webb
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Minnie E. Webb, 87, died Sunday, November 18 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, November 20 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverends Lynn Stapleton and Mitchell Rayburn officiating. Interment icon followed in the New Hope cemetery near Yuma.
Mrs. Webb, the daughter of the late Tolbert and Doshia Grisham Williams, was born August 14, 1914 in Henry County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Comfort Baptist Church. A daughter, Dorothy Lee Webb; a brother, J. T. Williams and a sister, Ruby Willis, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William Lester Webb; three daughters, Mildred Elizabeth Butler and Janet Bernice Prince, both of Huntingdon and Brenda Bee Dickson of Bruceton; two brothers, George Williams of Westport and Leslie H. Williams of Washington, Illinois; three sisters, Irene Gatlin and Sue Cary, both of Huntingdon and Betty Jane Cary of Gainesville, Florida; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Michael Todd Baker
HOLLADAY: Services for Mr. Michael Todd Baker, 36, were at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 12 at Stockdale-Malin Chapel with burial in Palestine cemetery. Mr. Baker was DOA Saturday, November 10 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon from injuries received in a car accident. Survivors include his stepmother, Lewanita Baker of Holladay; a son, Brandon Baker Morrison of Bruceton a sister, Alisa Balker and a brother, Gary Baker, both of Camden.

Claude W. Adams
BROOMFIELD HEIGHTS, MICHIGAN: Memorial services for Claude W. Adams will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 19 at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie.
Mr. Adams, retired from General Motors in middle management in 1984, died January 19, 2000 at his home in Bloomfield Heights.
He was born February 16, 1918 in McKenzie to the late Mary Walpole Adams and Claude Winston Adams. He was a member of ATO, T & 7, 'The Club' General Motors, and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He served four years in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife Anne K. Adams; a daughter, Mary Annette Adams Boran; a son, Jay Winston Adams; and two grandchildren.
A son, Claude King Adams, also preceded him in death.

Pauline B. Russell
PUEBLO, COLORADO: Graveside services for Pauline B. Russell, 68, were at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8 at Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Russell, a retired paralegal, died Friday, November 2 in Pueblo.
She was born May 17, 1933 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky to the late Elizabeth Lee Bradley and Oscar Hillard Bradley, Sr. She was a member of Belmont Church of Nazarene in Pueblo.
Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Russell of Pueblo, Colorado; a son, Brad Russell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a brother, Oscar Hillard Bradley, Jr. of West Union, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, John D. Russell.

John Henry Hicks
McKENZIE - Services for Rev. John Henry Hicks were at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8 at Ridgeway Funeral Home with John Adams officiating. Burial was in the Wilder cemetery in McKenzie.
Hicks, 85, died Monday, November 5 at Methodist Hospital of McKenzie.
Born July 31, 1916, in Cottonwood Point, Missouri, he was the son of the late Vester and Irene Kyle Hicks.
He was married on September 28, 1940 to the former Janie Thompson, who survives.
An ordained Baptist minister, he was pastor at Ramble Creek Baptist Church in Big Sandy; Chalk Level Baptist Church in Camden; Kin Folk Ridge Church in Caruthersville, Missouri; and Grace Baptist Church in McKenzie.
Hicks was also pastor of churches in California in the 1950s.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and a supervisor for Gaines Manufacturing, formerly of McKenzie.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Garry Hicks of McKenzie; one sister, Anna May Blurton of Cottonwood Point; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, John Gilbert Hicks.

Cless Parrish
LINCOLNTON, GEORGIA: Mr. Cless Parrish, 77, died November 4 at McDuffie Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 7 at Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terrell Blackmon officiating. Interment icon was in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Parrish was a native of Holland, Kentucky, but had lived in Lincoln County for the past 33 years. He was a teacher with the Columbia County School System for over 25 years; in McKenzie for five years and was a member of Holland Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Fern Wiseman Parrish; a son, David Parrish of Lincolnton, Georgia; and one sister, Essie P. Armstrong of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to Loco Baptist Church, 1624 Church Road, Lincolnton, Georgia 30817.
Beggs Funeral Home, of Thomson Georgia was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Sandra Kay Roberts
McKENZIE - Services for Sandra Kay Roberts, 53, were at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 11 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Mann officiating. Interment icon was at Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Ms. Robert, a retired bank teller, died Friday, November 9 at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 1, 1948 in McKenzie to the late Ruth Ellis Roberts and Virgil Roberts. She was a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include three brothers, Joe Roberts and Bobby Roberts, both of Gleason and Donald Roberts of McKenzie.

Pauline Sawyer Adams Helms
McKENZIE - Services for Pauline Sawyer Adams Helms were at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 7 at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Helms, a retired nursing home aide, died Monday, November 5 at Methodist Hospital. She was born September 5, 1912 in West Helen, Arkansas.
Survivors include a daughter, Annie Mae Winston of McKenzie; three sons, Pat Adams of Hollow Rock, James Lee Adams of McKenzie and Homer Ray Adams of Langley, South Carolina; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Sawyer and two husbands, Jack Andrew Adams and Chester Helms.

Farris G. Vaughn
GLEASON - Services for Farris G. Vaughn, 82, were Tuesday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home with burial in Tumbling Creek cemetery.
Mr. Vaughn, a retired farmer, died Sunday, November 11 at Oak Manor Nursing Home in McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Vaughn.
Survivors include one sister, Ester Rozelle Buchanan of Union City and one brother, Earl Vaughn of Gleason.
