Orville Earl Cauley
1931-2002
CLARKSBURG - Mr. Orville Earl Cauley, 70, died Thursday, August 8 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, August 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shaffer Funeral Home Pioneer Chapel in Bronte, Texas. Interment icon followed in the Grape Creek cemetery in San Angelo, Texas.
Mr. Cauley was born December 23, 1931 in Eola, Texas to the late Orvin Estell and Stella Rawls Cauley. He was a self-employed well driller and a member of the Baptist Temple Church in San Angelo, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Kemp Cauley; three daughters, Cheryl Bush of Wildersville, Patricia Ricketts of Cedar Grove, and Cassandra Cauley-Ricco of Lexington; two sons, Robert Cauley of Katy, Texas and Michael Cauley of Sealy, Texas; three sisters, Sue Ford, Patsy Warren and Sandra Bruton, all of San Angelo, Texas; two brothers, Leo Cauley and Lehmann Cauley, both of San Angelo, Texas; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the local arrangements.

Peggy Joyce Erler
1931-2002
McKENZIE - Services for Peggy Joyce Erler, 70, were at 2;00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Erler, a homemaker, died on Sunday, August 11 at West Tennessee Skilled Nursing Center in Jackson.
She was born December 6, 1931 in McKenzie to the late Georgia Aylor Pentecost and Lester A. Bingaman. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Erler and a son, Lester E. Erler of McKenzie.
A son, James R. Erler and a brother, Lester A Bingaman preceded her in death.

Martha Goodrum
1913-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Martha Goodrum, 89, died Monday, August 12 at Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time. Dilday Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. For more information, call 986-8281.

Willard Barksdale
1925-2002
McKENZIE - Willard Barksdale, 77, died Monday morning, August 12 at McKenzie Health Care Center in McKenzie.
He was born July 6, 1925.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Barksdale; two sons, Billy Barksdale and Mark Barksdale and two daughters, Penny Knott and Jennifer Waldrup, all of McKenzie.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time. Brummitt Funeral Home of McKenzie is in charge of the arrangements.

Carl Walden Pendergrass
TREZEVANT - Services for Carl Walden Pendergrass, 72, were held on Sunday, June 24 at 3:00 p.m. at the Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant with Brother Philip Halter officiating. Interment icon followed in New Liberty cemetery in Cedar Grove.
Mr. Pendergrass, a retired salesman, died Thursday, June 21 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris of cancer.
He was born May 14, 1929 in Carroll County to the late Lella Gurley and John William Pendergrass. He was a Korean Conflict United States Air Force veteran.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Keen of Medina and Delores Boyd of Trezevant; three sons, Danny Pendergrass of Vancouver, Washington, Dennis Pendergrass of Dover, Deleware and Dean Pendergrass of Milan; a sister, Virginia Roberts of Atwood; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ruben Huffman
HENRY - Services for Ruben Huffman, 86, were held on Monday, June 25 at Trinity Funeral Home with Bishop Walter McBride officiating. Interment icon followed in Greenwood cemetery.
Mr. Huffman, a retired laborer for L & N Railroad, died on Friday, June 22 at Methodist Health Care Center in McKenzie.
He was born on March 19, 1915 in Henry to the late William Huffman and Helen Gardner Huffman. He was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, three sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lennie Huffman; a son, Willie Huffman of McKenzie; a stepson, Robert Alexander of Paris; three stepdaughters, Elena Rowe of Paris and Lina Gary and Annie (A. J.) Coates of Toledo, Ohio; two brothers, Sherman Huffman and Lester Huffman, both of Temple, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Atlas Lindsey, Jr.
PARIS - Atlas Archie Lindsey, Jr., 76, was dead on arrival Thursday, June 21 at Henry County Medical Center. Services were at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23 at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Parker French officiating. Burial followed in Van Dyke cemetery.
Born September 20, 1924, in Vale, he was the son of the late Atlas Archie Lindsey, Sr. and Lottierene Carter Lindsey. He was a member of East Wood Church of Christ; a World War II navy veteran and served on the destroyer USS Lee Fox.
He worked in law enforcement for the Davidson County Sheriff's Patrol and in security at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
He leaves one daughter, SherryWilliams of Joelton; one son, Jackie Lindsey of Boston; six sisters, Betty Conger and Jane Donnelly, both of Paris, Jeanette Williams of Watkinsville, Georgia, Myra Hurst of Manchester, Janice Clapper of Springfield and Judy Simmons of Singer Island, Florida; four brothers, David Carter Lindsey of Mansfield, James Thomas Lindsey of Murfreesboro, Bobby Joe Lindsey of Joelton and Roy Earl Lindsey of Gallatin and two grandchildren.

Weldon Willis
HUNTINGDON - Weldon Willis, 77, died Tuesday, June 19 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Services were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 23 at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church in Huntingdon with the Rev. Carvene Jamison officiating. Burial followed in Humble cemetery near Huntingdon.
Born in Carroll County on June 23, 1923, he was the son of Pete Willis and Riddie Pearson, both deceased. He was married in 1951 to the former Dorothy Jamison, who survives.
He also leaves five sons, Robert Earl Willis of Paris, David Willis, Darnell Willis, and Jonte Thomas Willis, all of Huntingdon and Johnnie Lee Willis of Ripley; four daughters, Vonnie Lou Bell, Stella Williams and Betty Sue Jamison, all of Huntingdon and Kathy Pearson Graham of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Daisy Weathers of Huntingdon; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Rawls Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Lou Sexton
McKENZIE - Services for Lou Ellen Roark Sexton, 79, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5 at Brummitt Funeral Home. Burial was in the Mount Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Sexton, a homemaker formerly of McKenzie and church organist for First Methodist Church of McKenzie, died Thursday, May 31 in Carrollton, Georgia of cancer.
She is survived by her husband, James Douglas Sexton; a daughter and son, Susan Lee Sexton and Bruce Allen Sexton, both of Carrollton, Georgia and formerly of McKenzie and two brothers, Walter Lee Roark, Jr. of Powder Springs, Georgia and Hugh W. Roark of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Stoker.
Local services were held Friday, June 1 at 4:00 p.m. in Carrollton, Georgia.

Lloyd Forrest
HOLLOW ROCK - Services for Lloyd Junior Forrest, 69, were at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 1 at Bruceton Funeral Home with the Rev. J. D. Abbott officiating. Burial was in the Mount Comfort cemetery near Yuma.
Mr. Forrest, a retired truck driver for Mid-Way Materials, died Tuesday, May 29 at The Regional Medical Center in Memphis of accidental burns.
He was born May 20, 1932 in Carroll County to the late Lloyd Horace Forrest and Gladys Lane Forrest.
He was also preceded in death by two wives, Helen H. Forrest and Anita Forrest. He is survived by a daughter and son, Barbara Ann Chandler of Bruceton and Charles Ricky Forrest of Millen, Georgia; three brothers, Austin Forrest and Aubrey "Toddler" Forrest, both of Bruceton, and Walter Forrest of Camden; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Zella Morgan
CEDAR GROVE - Services for Zula B. Williams Morgan, 80, were at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 1 at Reed's Chapel in Lexington. Burial was in the Palestine cemetery in Carroll County.
Mrs. Morgan, a homemaker and retired from the New Lennox (Illinois) School District, died Wednesday, May 30 at home in Cedar Grove of heart disease.
She is survived by her husband, Lindon Morgan of Cedar Grove; a daughter and son, Jilly Kelley and Jeff Morgan, both of New Lenox, Illinois and a brother, Clayton "Doc" Williams of Lexington.

Jerry Henry
GREENFIELD - Services for Jerry Don Henry, 55, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2 at Williams Funeral Home. Burial was in the Highland cemetery.
Mr. Henry, an employee of MTD of Martin, died Thursday, May 31, at home of cancer.
He is survived by his mother, Etta Henry of Greenfield; three sons and a daughter, Donnie Henry and Ronnie Henry, both of Greenfield, Tommy Malone of Memphis and Sue Brewer of Sharon; two brothers and a sister, Dal Henry of McKenzie, Danny Joe Henry of Greenfield and Lois Williams of Jackson.

John Cunningham
ATWOOD - Services for John Calvin "J.C." Cunningham, 82, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2 at Mount Olive Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Cunningham, a dry cleaner, died Sunday, May 27 at Milan General Hospital of heart disease.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Mae Cunningham of Atwood; four daughters and two sons, Diana Gail Mann, Wilma Janice Cunningham, Pamela Jean Cunningham, E. J. Cunningham and William Anthony Cunningham, all of Atwood and Charlotte Lee Porter of Jackson.
Bond Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Vivian Carrell
McKENZIE - Services for Vivian Pride Carrell, 88, were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 5 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Burial followed in the Shiloh cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Carrell, a homemaker, died Sunday, June 3 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie of heart failure.
She was born October 21, 1912 in McKenzie to the late Bertha Hamlin Carroll and Thomas Gardner Carroll. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in McKenzie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Cleo Carrell. She is survived by a daughter and two sons, Janette Johnson of Memphis, Joe Thomas Carrell of Austin, Texas, and Kenny Carrell of McKenzie; a brother, J. W. Carroll of Memphis; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
