Charles Jean "Gene" Totty
1914-2002
BRUCETON - Services for Mr. Charles Jean "Gene" Totty, 88, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23 at Bruceton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Whitworth officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Methodist Church cemetery in Hustburg.
Mr. Totty, a retired manager of Jordan Furniture and Hardware, died Sunday, July 21 at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
He was born June 1, 1914 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late Charles Harrison Totty and May Loretta Jean Totty. He was a member of Bruceton United Methodist Church and a World War II army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jordan Totty; two sons, Mark Totty of Camden and Steven Totty of Knoxville; and four grandchildren.

Grace Mary Wynkoop
1916-2002
HOLLOW ROCK - Mrs. Grace Mary Wynkoop, 85, died Sunday, July 21 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, July 25 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Interment icon followed in the McAuley cemetery.
Mrs. Wynkoop was born September 7, 1916 in Potsdam, New York. She was a homemaker and a member of Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Deniker of Hollow Rock and Lillian Ramariz of Detroit, Michigan; one sister, Hesper Massey of Independence, Missouri; one brother, Sterlin Cobb of Texas; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Chester Foster
McKENZIE - Services for Chester Lewis Foster, 88, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2 at Brummitt Funeral Home. Burial was in the Liberty cemetery.
Mr. Foster, a farmer and retired from Plumley Rubber Co. in Paris, died Thursday, May 31 at McKenzie Methodist Hospital of heart failure.
He was born January 1, 1913 in Vale to the late Edna Foster and Lee Foster. He was a member of Liberty Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Presson Foster. He is survived by a daughter and four sons, Brenda Moss, Bobby Foster and Larry Joe Foster, all of McKenzie, Lewis Foster of Huntingdon and Jerry Foster of Martin; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Dovey Lynn Taylor
LARGO, FLORIDA - Dovey Lynn Taylor, 79, died Monday, May 28 at Suncoast Hospital. She was born in Alamo. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Largo and the O.E.S.
Survivors include a son, Joe Taylor of St. Petersburg, Florida; three daughters, Sondra Gayle Reilly of Riverview, Florida, Virginia Ann Tyler of Ft. Worth, Texas and Donna Lynn Maag of Houston, Texas; a brother, Samuel Poole of McKenzie; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church in Largo, Florida.

Peyton Edward Burnine
McKENZIE - Graveside services for Peyton Edward Burnine, infant son of Karen and Kevin Burnine, were Sunday afternoon, May 27 at Shiloh cemetery.
The infant was stillborn Friday, May 25 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
Besides his parents, he leaves two sisters, Abby and Taylor Burnine of McKenzie, grandparents, A. B. and Tammy Malar, Dan and Debbie Burnine, and Ricky and Jan Cozart; great-grandparents Legion and June Morris, Woodrow and Blondell Young and Bill and Evora Burnine and the late Ann and L. H. Cozart.

Peggy Ann Williams
HUNTINGDON - Miss Peggy Ann Williams, 41, died Sunday, June 3 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 6 at 12:00 p.m. at Bible Hill cemetery with Reverend C. N. Ricks officiating. Interment icon will follow.
Miss Williams was born September 28, 1959 in Henderson County to Henry Williams and Lardine Strayhorn Kirby, who survive. She was a sewing machine operator for New Generations and a member of the Bible Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one brother, Patrick Williams and a niece, Myra Irvine.
She is survived by two sons, Tomorris Williams and Hunter Williams; one daughter Nicole Williams, all of Huntingdon; seven brothers, Charles Williams of Parkers Crossroads, LoRenzo Williams and Junior Williams of Lexington, Eric Williams, Tony Williams, Dwight Williams and Joe Williams, all of Huntingdon; and four sisters, JoAnn Jordan, Mary Williams, Evelyn Williams and Charlene Williams, all of Huntingdon.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Wilbur Lloyd Headden
McKENZIE - Services for Wilbur Lloyd Headden, 78, will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Larry Dailey and Bob Hull officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Headden, a retired electronic technician with South Central Bell, died Saturday, October 20 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born November 11, 1919 on Veterans Day in Atwood to the late Camilla Cummings Headden and Kelly Headden. He was a member of First Cumblerland Presbyterian Church. He was a former commander of McKenzie VFW Post #4939 and chaired the local district Voice of Democracy contests at various times. Mr. Headden also participated in the annual Veteran's Day program at McKenzie High School.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Faye Smith Headden; two daughters, Cheryl Baker of Doylestown, Pennsylvania and Ann H. Borrell of Portsmouth, Virginia; a sister, Annell Jones of Nashville; a brother, Dr. Norvel J. Headden of McKenzie and four grandchildren.
A brother, Broeck Headden also preceded him in death.
Memorials may be sent to Wilbur Headden Memorial Fund Voice of Democracy, VFW Post #4939, attention, Lucille Cozart, P. O. Box, 231, McKenzie, Tennessee, 38201.

Bruce Daniel "Danny" Carter
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Bruce Daniel "Danny" Carter, 54, died Monday, October 22 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Rufus Chandler officiating. Interment icon will follow in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Carter was born October 25, 1946 in Carroll County. He was a member of New Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. He was co-owner of Dilday Funeral Home, Northwest Tennessee Crematory and Carroll Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Smothers Carter; his parents, Elder Clarence F. and Alene Carter of Huntingdon; four sons, Steve Carter, Stanley Carter, Scott Carter and Shawn Carter, all of Huntingdon; one brother, Dr. Lee Carter of Huntingdon; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Danny Carter Memorial Relay for Life at Carroll Bank and Trust.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday after 3:00 p.m. at Dilday Funeral Home West Visitation Room.

Wallace A. D. Jordan
HUNTINGDON - Services for Wallace A. D. Jordan were Friday, October 19 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Coplin officiating with burial in Little Grove cemetery in Cedar Grove. Mr. Jordan died Monday, October 15, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Jordan was born October 12, 1930 to Mac and Wallace Jordan. He was an employee of Beare Cold Storage Co. for 29 years and retired in 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Jordan; one stepdaughter, Margaret Dove of Huntingdon; one step-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Zona Mayo Snyder
McKENZIE - Services for Zona Mayo Snyder, 80, were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 at Brummitt Funeral Home. Burial was in Concord cemetery.
Mrs. Snyder, a retired factory worker and homemaker, died Wednesday night, May 1 at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
She was born August 18, 1921 in Camden to the late Mary Elizabeth Coleman and James Anderson Coleman.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Jane Nelson of Fair Oak, California; a son, James Melton Mayo of Westport, Washington; two sisters, Lorene Whitmore of Bruceton and Francis Umstead of McKenzie; a brother, James Coleman of Chicago, Illinois; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Her husband, Elvie Thomas Mayo; a daughter, Mary Ann Smith; two sons, Melvin Thomas Mayo and David Wayne Mayo; three sisters, Lexie Hale, Estel Wallace and Ester Hill and a brother, John Coleman all preceded her in death.

Jimmie Davis Hensley
GLEASON - Funeral services for Jimmie Davis Hensley, 59, were held on Tuesday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakdale Chapel in Camden with Mickey Beam and Ed Ballard officiating. Burial was in Dry Branch cemetery.
Mr. Hensley passed away on May 5 at Jackson-Madison County General following a long illness.
He was born August 10, 1942 in Camden to Naomi Hensley and the late Jimmie Ervin Hensley of Camden. He was a owner of Golden Eagle Transportation and a member of Hustburg Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Hensley; a step-son, Jere Cooper of Gleason; four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Mary C. Wall
CLARKSBURG - Mrs. Mary C. Wall, 87, died Monday, April 29 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, May 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the Clarksburg Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Phillip Halters and Bro. Andrew Stokes officiating. Interment icon followed in the Clarksburg cemetery.
Mrs. Wall was born January 9, 1915 in Clarksburg to the late Hugh and Lillie Whitehorn Crider. She was a member of the Clarksburg Missionary Baptist Church and was married to Mr. Virgil Wall on June 3, 1933. One son, Bobby Wall and one brother, Buck Crider, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, one daughter, Betty Wall Swearingen of Hollow Rock; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

John Samuel Baker, Sr.
PARIS - Mr. John Samuel Baker, Sr., 74, died Thursday, May 2 at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, May 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Vance Rushing officiating. Interment icon followed in the Palmer Shelter cemetery.
Mr. Baker was born on February 8, 1928 in Humphreys County to the late Donnie Albert and Carrie Roberts Baker. She was a retired truck driver for Star Trucking Company, an Air Force veteran and a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John Baker, Jr. of Huntingdon and John Stewart Baker of Paris; two sisters, London Bedwell of Huntingdon, Ree Bedwell of Grand Prairie, Texas; one brother, Ray Baker of Frankfort, Kentucky and two grandchildren.

Ruby Lee Stanford
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Ruby Lee Stanford, 83, died Monday, April 29 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Graveside funeral services were conducted on Thursday, May 2 at Liberty All cemetery with Brother Benny Keymon officiating.
Mrs. Stanford was born August 30, 1918 in Carroll County to the late Wesley and Hattie Morris Campbell. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie W. Stanford and a sister, Jeanette Simpson.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynn Lewis of Jackson; three sons, Travis Stanford of Huntingdon, Larry Stanford of Greenfield and Barton Stanford of Jackson; one sister, Beatrice Manning of Milan; one brother, Thomas Campbell of Jackson; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
