Lucille Floyd Sampson
McKENZIE - Mrs. Lucille Floyd Sampson, 81, died Saturday, September 29 at Huntingdon Health and Rehab. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, October 1 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Vance Rushing officiating. Interment
followed in New Crossroads cemetery.
Mrs. Sampson was born January 3, 1920 to the late Linlie and Ether Webb Taylor. She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Church in McKenzie. Mary Louise Arnold, Imey Jewel Griffin, Billy Joe Floyd and Larry Eugene Pate preceded her in death.
Surviving are five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mattie Eugenie Taylor
WINGO: Mrs. Mattie E. Taylor was born January 11, 1937 in Trezevant to Ethridge (Doc) and Hestella (Williams) Adkisson. She departed this earthly life on October 18. Services were Sunday, October 21 at 3:00 p.m. at Wingo Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Daniel Morton, pastor, officiating. Bond Funeral Home, Milan was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Taylor died Thursday, October 18 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Etheridge and Hestella Adkisson; her devoted husband, Earl Taylor; five children, Teresa (Michael) Jordan of Huntingdon, Beverly (Michael) Hughes of Huntingdon, Wanda (Phillip) Bates of Germany, Elveta Taylor of Nashville, and Kenneth Taylor of Nashville; six siblings, Priest (Ophelia) Adkisson of Racine, Wisconsin, Earl (Lurlene) Adkisson of Atwood, Mabel (Billy) Kelly of Greenfield, Mary (Geno) Brown of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Angeline (Robert) Moore of Lexington, Kentucky, and Lula Williamson of Detroit, Michigan; five sisters-in-law: Odessia Hurt of Jarrell, Georgia Nell Newbill of Wingo, JoAnn Taylor of Wingo, Willie T. (Ralph) Tate of Wingo, Retha (Junior) of Jarrell, and one brother-in-law, Hurley, Jr. (Bertha) Taylor of Wingo; seven grandchildren, Ryane and Corbin, Chad and Haley, Brandi, Sidney and Jasmine and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Herman Paul Tucker
McKENZIE - Services for Herman Paul Tucker, 88, were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 26 at McKenzie Church of Christ with Bros. Jim Roberts and Kenneth Edwards officiating. Burial was in Carroll Memorial Gardens in McKenzie.
Mr. Tucker, a retired steel worker, died Wednesday, October 24, at McKenzie Methodist hospital in McKenzie of heart failure.
He was born July 13, 1913 in Kenton to the late Mary Lou Lane Tucker and John Wesley Tucker. He was a member of McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Sherrill Barker Tucker; one daughter, Jimmie D. Barth of Slinger, Wisconsin; one stepdaughter, Julia Ruffell Winters of McKenzie; one stepson, James Richard Ruffell of McKenzie; one sister, Maurine Bibbs of Kenton; one granddaughter, Debra Thirerman of West Bend, Wisconsin and two step-grandsons, James Richard Ruffell, IV and Jeremy Mark Ruffell, both of Huntingdon.

Charles Ray Doster
McKENZIE - Services for Charles Ray Doster, 47, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Carr officiating. Burial was in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
He was born February 26, 1954 in Martin.
He was preceded in death by his father Clifford Doster.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Diane Doster; his mother, Lillian Doster of Gleason; a daughter, Christy Doster; two sons, Charles Ray Doster and Kevin Lee Doster; one sister, Barbara Grosvenor; one brother, Kenneth Doster, all of McKenzie; his grandmother, Opal Doster of Gleason and one grandchild.
Ruth Irene Hopper
CEDAR GROVE - Mrs. Ruth Irene Hopper, 91, died Friday, October 26 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services were conducted on Sunday, October 28, at the Lexington City cemetery in Lexington with Brother Malcolm Norten officiating.
Mrs. Hopper, the daughter of the late Sam and Dora Blaylock Weatherford, was born December 26, 1909 in Trezevant. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of Romie Ethol Hopper, who died in August, 1967.
She is survived by one son, Roy E. Hopper and a stepdaughter, Faye Vines, both of Huntingdon; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

James L. Kelley
GLENWOOD, ILLINOIS: Mr. James L. Kelley, 65, formerly of Huntingdon, died Monday, October 22 in Dyer, Indiana. Memorial services were conducted on Monday, October 29 at the First Baptist Church in Huntingdon.
Mr. Kelley was born October 20, 1936 in Carroll County. He was a retired superintendent for Ford Motor Company Stamping Plant. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Joyce Moore and Sandra Costello.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Kelley; seven daughters, Glenda Carol Johnson of Hollow Rock, Rhonda Gail Kelley of Savannah, Elizabeth Selvey of Sauk Village, Sandra Daughtery of Hartford, Kentucky, Martha Jacobson of Worth, Illinois, Nancy Riddle of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Marianne Darmstaedter of North Chicago, Illinois; six sons, Dennis Beal of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Jerry Beal and Charles Hill, both of Georgetown, Texas, Michael Beal of Scottsville, Texas, Kenneth Beal of Camden, and Anthony Beal of Peoria, Illinois; two brothers, Dale Kelley of Huntingdon and Dwayne Kelley of Memphis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bruce Daniel "Danny" Carter
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Bruce Daniel "Danny" Carter, 54, died Monday, October 22 at his home. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, October 26 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Rufus Chandler officiating. Interment
followed at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Carter was born October 25, 1946 in Carroll County. He was a member of New Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Carter was co-owner of Dilday Funeral Home, Northwest Tennessee Crematory and Carroll Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Smothers Carter; his parents, Elder Clarence F. and Alene Carter of Huntingdon; four sons, Steve Carter, Stanley Carter, Scott Carter, and Shawn Carter, all of Huntingdon; one brother, Dr. Lee Carter of Huntingdon; and three grandchildren, Kayla Carter, Cale Belew and Cramer Belew, all of Huntingdon.
Pallbearers who served were Gary Nelson, Chuck Sichta, Walter Smothers, Jr., Brian Kelley, Mike Mansfield, Ray Woodard, Dr. Tim Tucker, and Manuel Crossno. Mozelle Lundy Commons
MEMPHIS - Mrs. Mozelle Lundy Commons, 88, died Friday, October 19 at her home of complications from lung cancer. Services were conducted on Monday, October 22 at Memphis Funeral Home with burial in Trezevant cemetery, Trezevant.
The widow of Arthur S. Commons, survivors include nieces Jane Grosse of Paris, Texas and Maxine Boston of Franklin.
Mrs. Commons, a native of Trezevant, attended Trezevant High School; Tennessee College in Murfreesboro; University of Tennessee in Knoxville; and Library School at Peabody College. She taught at Trezevant High School and in Gibson.
She was librarian in Trezevant; Alva, Florida; Lexington and Milan High School before going to John Brister Library of Memphis State University where she was associate librarian for 27 years.
She was a member of Prescott Memorial Baptist Church where she taught a Sunday School class and was active in the Business Women's Circle of the church, also serving as church librarian for several years.
Mrs. Commons was a member of the Shelby County Business Women's Association and Delta Kappa Gamma.
Memorials may be sent to Prescott Memorial Baptist Church in Memphis.
Bobby Joe Berryhill
McKENZIE - Graveside services for Bobby Joe Berryhill, 71, were held at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, October 11 at Beech Springs cemetery in Gleason with the Rev. Gene Price officiating. Mr. Berryhill died Monday, October 8 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
Mr. Berryhill was born June 23, 1930 in Gleason to the late Lora McGee Berryhill and Dewey Otis Berryhill. He was an U. S. Army veteran.
Survivors include two sisters, Emma Oller of Lansing, Michigan and Mable Taylor of Gleason.

Chad V. Crabtree
CEDAR GROVE - Services for Mr. Chad V. Crabtree, 30, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29 in the Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with Rev. Jackie Wilkerson and Rev. Randy Carter officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood cemetery in Milan.
Mr. Crabtree, co-owner of West Tennessee Auto Glass, died Wednesday, September 26 at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham of heart failure.
He was born in Pierre, South Dakota, November 10, 1970, but had lived in the Milan area for the past nine years. He attended the Northside Assembly of God Church and was a member of the National Glass Association.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon McKnight Crabtree; two sons, Chase Taylor Crabtree and Chance Duane Crabtree, both of Cedar Grove; his parents, Ken and Cinda Crabtree of Arlington, South Dakota; a brother, Casey Jon Crabtree of Arlington, South Dakota; a sister, Candace M. Crabtree of Sowell, New Jersey and his grandparents, Edith Garrett and Carol and Dick Todd, all of Pierre, South Dakota.
The family requests memorials be directed to the Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom Program.
J. D. Fowler
ATWOOD - Services for Mr. J. D. Fowler, 85, were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27 at the First Assembly of God Church in Milan with Rev. Bill Lickliter, Rev. Thomas Barber and Rev. Wayne Holmes officiating. Burial was in the Hickory Flat cemetery near Cedar Grove. Bodkin Funeral Home of Milan was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Fowler, a retired employee of the Milan Army Ammunition Plant, died Monday at the Methodist Hospital in McKenzie of complications from a stroke.
He was born in Gibson County July 11, 1916, the son of the late Dewitt and Clara Z. Watson Fowler, but had lived in Atwood most of his life. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Milan. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
His wife, Ianthus Brinkley Fowler, preceded him in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Williams of San Jose, California; a brother, Gordon Fowler of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a sister, Clara Piercey of Jackson; and two grandsons.
The family requests memorials be made to the First Assembly of God Church in Milan or Christ Chapel Church in Atwood.
Fred V. Kelly
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Fred V. Kelly, 87, died Saturday, September 29 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Graveside services were conducted on Monday, October 1 at Christian Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Kelly was born October 27, 1913 to the late Jake and Emmy Edwards Kelly in Carroll County. He was a retired farmer.

PARIS - Richard Sanders, a former high school teacher with the McKenzie Special School District, died Tuesday morning, October 2 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press-time.

GLEASON - Services for Linda R. Reynolds, 53, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 2 at Gallimore Funeral Home with burial in Sunset cemetery.
Mrs. Reynolds, a homemaker, died Sunday, September 30 at her home of cancer.
She was a member of Faith Independent Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Quartermous of Milan; a son, James David Reynolds of Rutherford; three sisters, Betty Stout of Gleason, Wanda Gail Stafford of Bells and Vickie Darlene Evans of Paris; three brothers, Paul Evans of Bells, Carl E.
