LEXINGTON - Mildred Louise "Millie" James, 69, died Saturday, April 1, at Beverly Healthcare in Union City. Funeral services were held Monday, April 3, in the East Room of Dilday Funeral Home with Bro. Wendel Birchett and Bro. Aaron McGranahan officiating. Interment icon followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. James was born March 9, 1937, in Crockett County. She was retired from business management.
She was preceded in death by her father, Issac Martin Walton; her mother, Otha Faye Gourley James; a son, Jon Marcus Daily; a sister, Sylvia McGranahan; and three brothers, Martin Walton, Jr., Franklin Walton, and Daniel Lee Walton.
Survivors include her husband, Robert James; two daughters, Melissa Harris of McKenzie and Cynthia Ferrell of Sharon; one son, James Daily, Jr. of McKenzie; three sisters, Rebecca Burton of Lexington, Betty Wilkes of Huntingdon, and Joyce Walton of Marion, IL; two brothers, Dave Walton of Kankakee, IL and Lucky Walton of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

FRANCES LOUISE CARTER
1918-2006
HUNTINGDON - Frances Louise Carter, 87, died Sunday, April 2, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 4, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Bryan Oakes and Bro. Scott Carter officiating. Interment icon followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Carter was born August 9, 1918, to the late Clarence Jackson and Maggie Belle Tosh Rich. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Carter, on October 28, 1985; her son, Gerald David "Buddy" Carter, Jr. on July 7, 2001; two sisters, Ruth Johnson and Johnnie Beal; and four brothers, Ray Rich, Raymond Rich, Billy Rich and C.J. Rich.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice Chandler of Camden; two sons, Ronnie (Faye) Carter of Huntingdon and Dwight (Diane) Carter of Camden; two sisters, Faye Chandler of Adamsville and Peggy Pruitt of Huntingdon; five brothers, Coy Rich of McKenzie, Paul Travis Rich, Gaylon Rich, Garlon Rich and Don Rich; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Keith Glen Sawyers
1968-2006
McKENZIE - Keith Glen Sawyers died Wednesday, April 5, at his residence. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Conquest officiating. Interment icon followed at Sandhill cemetery in Gleason.
Mr. Sawyers was born December 15, 1968, in Huntingdon, to the late Nolen Glosson and Mary Ann Sawyers Reynolds of Ripley, who survives. He was disabled and previously worked at CSI in McKenzie.
He is survived by his stepfather, Bobby Reynolds Sr., two brothers, Kevin Sawyers of McKenzie and Bobby Earl Reynolds Jr. of Henning; and one sister, Paula Wray of Halls.

Dale Wayne Wambolt
1959-2006
Rutherford: Dale Wayne Wambolt, age 47, formerly of Bruceton, died Wednesday, April 5, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Jack Nelson and Bobby Hollingsworth officiating. Interment icon followed at Pleasant Hill Church cemetery.
Mr. Wambolt was born February 24, 1959, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to the late Hollis Wambolt and Helen Badejo Wambolt.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, April Nicole Wambolt.
Survivors include his wife, Sherrie Knorr Wambolt; two sons, Travis (Jessica) Wambolt of Rutherford and Jeremy Smith of Rutherford; one sister, Doreen (Junior) Abbott of Nashville; one brother, Scott Wambolt of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and one grandson, Zachery Wambolt of Rutherford.

Janice Akin McClain
1947-2006
TREZEVANT - Janice Akins McClain, 58, died Saturday, April 8, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, April 10, at Trezevant Church of Christ with Bro. John Forgy offering the eulogy. Burial followed in Trezevant cemetery.
She was born November 18, 1947 in Trezevant to Joe David and the late Clara Jennings Akins. She was a retired president of Farmers and Merchants Bank and the first woman mayor of Trezevant, where she also had served as an alderman, a member of the Trezevant Church of Christ, former member of the Carroll County Watershed Authority, former board member of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, former Carroll County Business Person of the Year, former member of the Regional Hospital Board, and former member of Lake Project Board.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister, June Akins Merritt.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy McClain; one son, Greg (Lori) McClain of Trezevant; two daughters, Shan McClain (Norris) Depriest of Trezevant and Nichole McClain (Benji) Lawrence of McLemoresville; her father, Joe David "Red" Akins of McKenzie; one brother, Jerry (Gail) Akins of McKenzie; one sister, Joella Akins Lundy of the Big Buck Community; and 11 grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Trezevant Church of Christ Building Fund. McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

George "Frank" Zimmerman
1938-2006
TREZEVANT - George "Frank" Zimmerman, 68, died Monday, April 3, at his home. Private services were held Thursday, April 6, at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Zimmerman was born on January 23, 1938, in Greencastle, Indiana, to the late Otha "Red" and Ruth Myers Zimmerman. He was a retired tool and dye maker for Tower Automotive.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Otha Zimmerman and Jim Zimmerman.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Quinnette Zimmerman; two sons, George Zimmerman, Jr. and Dennis Zimmerman; two stepsons, Henry McCurdy and Michael McCurdy; a stepdaughter, Shelly Saxton; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Eugene Pierce Douglas
1940-2006
MURRAY, KENTUCKY: Eugene Pierce Douglas, 65, formerly of Lexington, died recently at his home. Funeral services were held Friday, January 27, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Brother Don Copper officiating. Interment icon followed in the Pleasant Hill cemetery in Lexington. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Douglas was born December 1, 1940, in Spring City. He was a retired LPN night supervisor for Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Huntsman Douglas.
He is survived by his mother, Virginia Pierce Douglas; a sister, Julia (Harry L.) Davis of Eatonton, Georgia; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Edna Parks Sinclair
FLORIDA - Edna Parks Sinclair, 89, died Sunday, January 1. A memorial service was held Saturday, January 7, at Key Biscayne Community Church.
Mrs. Sinclair was the daughter of the late Obe and Agnes Collins Parks and was born and reared in Gleason, where her teaching career began following graduation from Bethel College.
She was a longtime resident of Key Biscayne, Florida, one of the first teachers at Key Biscayne Elementary School, and a charter member of Key Biscayne Community Church.
She is survived by daughters Mary Gail S. PY (Arthur, Jr.) and Carol S. Robles (Joseph Jr.); five grandchildren; and three nephews: Charles and Lewis Parks of Largo and Naples, Florida, and James Lindsey of Springville, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, family requested donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Margaret Ellen Sutton
McLEMORESVILLE - Funeral services for Margaret Ellen Sutton, 70, were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30 at McLemoresville United Methodist Church with Brothers Tommy Martin and Buddy Chandler officiating. Burial was in McLemoresville cemetery.
Ms. Sutton, a production worker for Henry I. Siegel, died Tuesday, August 28 at the McKenzie Health Care Center of heart failure.
She was born February 27, 1931 to the late W. F. and Ora Pafford Freeman, in Carroll County. She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Laymond Holland, Lyndell Holland, Tilmon Holland, Harold Holland, Ezera Holland and Sherman Holland.
Survivors include two daughters, Amber Gay Milam of Nashville and Jackie Poole of McLemoresville; two sisters, Christine Barker and Mildred Kelly; two brothers, Bill Holland and James Holland, both of McLemoresville; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Bennie Morgan, Jr.
McKENZIE - Funeral services for Bennie Morgan, Jr., 59, were at Brummitt Funeral Home of McKenzie on Friday, August 31 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Vance Rushing officiating. Burial was in Union Academy cemetery in McKenzie.
Mr. Morgan, who was disabled, died Tuesday, August 28 at his home.
He was born July 29, 1942 in Carroll County to the late Clara Mae Wheeler Morgan and Bennie Morgan, Sr. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church in McKenzie. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Hall and Evelyn Sydnor.
Survivors include his wife Margie Fuzzell Morgan; two sons, Dennis Morgan and Prentice Morgan, both of Nashville; a daughter-in-law, Leah Morgan of Nashville; a sister, Ruth Morgan of McKenzie; and two brothers, Bobby Morgan of McKenzie and Williams Morgan of Cedar Grove.

Carl M. Gertz
BOURBONNAIS, ILLINOIS: Funeral services for Carl M. Gertz, 76, were on Wednesday, August 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, Illinois, with Rev. Mark Larson officiating. Burial was in Park Ridge, Illinois. Mr. Gertz resided in McKenzie from 1989 until 1997 on Tower Road and was active in AARP and contributed as a volunteer in many organizations.
Mr. Gertz passed away at his home on Saturday, August 25.
He was born on December 13, 1924 in Mead, Nebraska to the late Charles and Christine Springer Gertz.
He served in the United States Air Corps from March 25, 1943 until November 21, 1945. He was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Letzow Gertz, who he married in Chicago, Illinois on May 22, 1948; two daughters, Charlene Lobitz of DesPlaines, Illinois and Christine Landewehr and husband Robert of Orland Park, Illinois; two sisters, Freida White of McHenry, Illinois and Camille McManus of Casper, Wyoming; two sisters-in-law, Kathryn Gallagher of Bartlett, Illinois and Camille Gertz; one brother-in-law Lewis Letzow of Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren, James and Kim Lobitz, Scott and Coleen Kowalski, Margaret Lobitz and Jeff and Tim Landwehr; and two great-grandchildren, Maggie Kate and Moira.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the American Heart Association.
Bradley Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes was in charge of the arrangements.

Jo Ann Springer
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Jo Ann Springer, 59, died Sunday, August 26 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, August 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Wayne Holmes officiating. Interment icon followed in the Humbles cemetery.
Mrs. Springer was born September 12, 1941 in North Carolina to the late Joseph Allen and Fannie Gray Sutton Clifton. Before becoming ill, she was a certified nursing assistant for the Life Care Center in Bruceton.
She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Fowler of Memphis and Sherry Springer of Huntingdon; one son, Kent Springer of Huntingdon and one sister, Donna Atkinson of Waukegan, Illinois.

Robert Lee Jackson
HUNTINGDON - Services for Mr. Robert Lee Jackson, 69, were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 1 at Concord Missionary Baptist Church, with Brothers Rufus Chandler and Jerry Dodd officiating. Burial was in the New Hope cemetery in Yuma.
Mr. Jackson, Courier for Jackson Press Truck, died Wednesday, August 29 at Baptist Memorial Hospital of heart failure.
He was born June 6, 1932, to the late Harvey and Hattie Mai Holladay Jackson in Carroll County. He was an army veteran who served in the Korean Conflict. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert Lee Jackson, Jr. and Robert Kyle Jackson and a sister, Helene Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sue Floyd Jackson; two sons, Bradley Gene Jackson of Sanger, Texas and Kevin Dale Jackson of Huntingdon; three daughters, Rhonda Lee Reed and Kimberly Dawn Whitten of Huntingdon and Donna Sue Webb of Louden; and two sisters, Janie Marie Brandon and Hazel Kirksey, both of Huntingdon; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
