Arvil Kindred Brandon
CEDAR GROVE - Mr. Arvil Kindred Brandon, 85, died Sunday, May 12 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, May 14 at Christian Chapel Church of Christ, with Brother Lynn Tharpe officiating. Interment icon followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Brandon was born August 30, 1916 in Carroll County to the late Luther and Irma Humphrey Brandon. He was a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ and a retired employee of the Carroll County Highway Department. His wife, Ruth Brandon, a brother, James Brandon and a sister, Maurine Wilkes, preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay Myers of Holladay and Velma Cooper of Dyer; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Lena Ruth King Smith
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Lena Ruth King Smith, 84, died Monday, May 13 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, May 15 at the First Presbyterian Church with Brother Matthew Dean Cunningham and Brother David Clubb officiating. Interment icon followed at the Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Smith was born August 28, 1917 in Weakley County to the late Robert Harrison and Dianna May Muzzall King. She was a home health aide for the Carroll County Health Department, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of the Eastern Star and the Garden Club. Her husband, Wade Everett Smith, Sr. preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Anne Smith Cunningham of Camden and Peggy Ruth Smith Hayes of Oak Ridge; one son, Wade Everett Smith, Jr. of Athens; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Smith
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Dorothy Smith, 86, died Tuesday, May 14 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, May 18 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Gulledge and Rev. Larry DePriest officiating. Interment icon followed at Christian Chapel cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born December 12, 1914 in Huntingdon to the late Virgil and Hester Greer Crossno. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, James F. "Jimmy" Smith, Jr. of Huntingdon; one sister, Ophelia Hester of McKenzie; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.

Betty Yvonne "Bonnie" Williams
HOLLOW ROCK - Miss Betty Yvonne "Bonnie" Williams, 65, died Thursday, May 16 at the home of her sister. Graveside funeral services were conducted on Saturday, May 18 at Mt. Carmel cemetery with Bro. Paul Merwin officiating.
Miss Williams was born March 28, 1937 in Alabama to the late Doyle and Violet Hall Williams. A sister, Ruth Sterling, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sisters, Barbara Hampton of Hollow Rock, Doris Rutter of Camden, Dell Butler of Bruceton, and Becky Sims of Atwood; four brothers, Charles Williams of Lake Wappella, Missouri, R.H. Williams of Phil Campbell, Alabama, Floyd Williams of Parsons and Herman Williams of Camden.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Buford "Jug" Wray
GLEASON - Buford "Jug" Wray, 76, died on Sunday, May 19 at Methodist Volunteer Hospital of Martin after an extended illness. Services will be on Wednesday, May 22 at the First United Methodist Church in Gleason, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Hopewell cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. until time for the service.
Mr. Wray was born on March 22, 1926 in Gleason to Sam and Bertie Hall Wray. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Gleason for 53 years, serving on the official board, as Sunday School Superintendent and as a lay speaker.
Her served on the Weakley County Board of Education for 10 years and was president of the Gleason PTA for two years. He was an avid fan of Gleason High School sports for many years. In 1973, he was honored at Gleason Park for 30 years of continuous baseball and softball play.
He was employed by Bell Clay Company in Gleason for 29 years, Long Concrete Company in McKenzie and retired from Tennessee Rentals and Sales in Jackson after 12 years.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joyce Horn Wray; two daughters, Vicki Smith and husband Herman of Martin, Kathy Fite and husband Richard of Jackson; one son, Greg Wray and wife Deborah of Nashville; seven grandchildren, Stacie Smith Lawson, Brian Smith, Matt and Zac Fite, Kacie Fite, Jerry Proenza and Nathan Wray; one great-grandchild, Austin Proenza; two brothers, Bob Wray of Gleason and Thomas Wray of Kingsport.
His mother and father and two brothers, Walter "Bill" Wray and Woodrow "Buster" Wray preceded him in death.
The family asks that memorials be sent to the Gleason First Methodist Church Youth Group.
Gallimore Funeral Home of Gleason is in charge of the services.

Donald Kirk Stambaugh
McKENZIE - Memorial services for Donald Kirk Stambaugh, 51, will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Don Capenton officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery.
Mr. Stambaugh, disabled, was dead on arrival at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie on Monday, May 20.
He was born November 29, 1950 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Patty Sue Kirk Stambaugh and Donald Dean Stambaugh. He was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheanyoa Stambaugh; a son, Jason Reynolds Stambaugh; and two brothers, James David Stambaugh and Mark Reynolds Stambaugh, both of McKenzie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

Otis Turner
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Otis Turner, 95, died Monday, May 20 at the Camden General Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 22 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Greg Stanford and Brother Ted Duffy officiating. Interment icon will follow in Bethlehem cemetery.
Mr. Turner was born August 29, 1906 in Carroll County to the late Elmer and Lula Evans Turner. He was a farmer and a member of Bethlehem Methodist Church. A daughter, Louise Turner Pickler; two brothers, Tommy Turner and Cecil Turner and two sisters, Ollie Turner and Lela Pinson preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years Leecie Neely Turner, one daughter, Helen Woodson of Memphis; one son, Hulon Turner of Camden; one sister, Vonnelle Pinson and one brother, Russell Turner, both of Huntingdon; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mack Norwood
McKENZIE - Services for Mack Norwood, 83, were Sunday, February 24 at Brummitt Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Norwood, a retired farmer, died Thursday night, February 21 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
He was born September 7, 1918 in Camden to the late Louise Ellis Norwood and Luke Norwood. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Bobby Norwood of McKenzie; one sister, Pearl Traywick of Bruceton; and two grandchildren, Karen Bookout and Randy Norwood, both of McKenzie.
His wife, Ora Allen and one son, Gerald Norwood, preceded him in death.

William Thompson Esch
McKENZIE - Services for William Thompson Esch, 79, were Monday, February 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home with Brother Dennis Trull officiating. Burial was in Shiloh cemetery.
Mr. Esch died Saturday morning, February 23 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
He was born October 28, 1922 in McKenzie to the late Ora Effie Esch and Colonel Tip Esch. He was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Esch of Huntingdon; a son, Jerry Esch of McKenzie; a sister, Mary Sue Neisler of McKenzie; four grandchildren, Brittani and Courtni Esch, both of McKenzie, Michael Blackard of McKenzie and Stacey Hilliard of Huntingdon; and five great-grandchildren, Elijah Hilliard of Huntingdon, Allison, Tiffani, Elizabeth and Brandon Blackard, all of McKenzie.
His wife, Carolyn Rochelle Esch and a son, William Earl Esch, preceded him in death.

Ronald Lewis Emert
McKENZIE - Ronald Lewis Emert, retired from Maine Corp, died Friday, February 22 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. His body was cremated.
Mr. Emert, 54, is survived by his wife, Doris Emert; his mother, Doris Emert of Seymore; a daughter, Renna Emert of Knoxville; three sons, Jeffrey Emert of Calvert City, Minnesota, and Robbie Emert and Sean Emert, both of Knoxville; a stepson, Brian Sawyer of McKenzie; two sisters, Regina Emert of Seymore and Leha Emert of Knoxville; one brother, Kevin Emert of Oak Ridge; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His father, George Emert preceded him in death.

Mike Chandel, M.D.
Funeral services for Mike Chandel, 58, were incomplete at press time, however arrangements will be made through Dilday Funeral Home for cremation. Dr. Chandel died at his home in McKenzie Sunday morning.
He was born January 9, 1944 in Dhar IMP, India.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Chandel of McKenzie; one son, Michael Chandel of Clare, Michigan; two daughters, Leena Bolton of Germantown and Michelle Chandel of McKenzie; a grandson, Logan Bolton of Germantown; a son-in-law, Larry Bolton of Germantown; one brother, Agit Chandel of Indore, India and four sisters, Shoba, Usha, Sarla and Asha, all of India.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Suren, and a sister, Rehaka, all of India; and a son, Madhur Chandel of Memphis.

Elmer Clark Heath
BLACK OAK, ARKANSAS: Elmer Clark Heath, 81, formerly of McKenzie, passed away Monday, February 11 in the St. Bernard Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He was born November 20, 1920 in Gleason to the late Elmer A. and Louise Clark Heath. He was united in marriage to Melissa Graves on December 22, 1956.
He was employed by Timken Bearing and Steel of Canton, Ohio. He entered the United States Navy in August, 1940 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was at Pearl Harbor during the attack and was a disabled veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Heath; one daughter, Barbara Woodworth of Lansing, Michigan; two sisters, Christine Perry of McKenzie and Wilma Taliaferro of Mena, Arkansas and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Haggard & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Kenny Burns officiating. Burial was in Mars Hill cemetery.

Alvie L. Moore
CEDAR GROVE - Services for Alvie L. Moore will be Wednesday, February 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home with burial to follow at Antioch Baptist Church cemetery.

Mattie Sue Roe
CEDAR GROVE - Mrs. Mattie Sue Roe, 76, died Saturday, March 16 at the Huntingdon Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, March 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Barger officiating. Interment icon followed in the Leach Seventh Day Adventist cemetery.
Mrs. Roe was born June 9, 1925 in Cedar Grove to the late William Gus and Audra McKinnley (Fry) Duncan. She was a homemaker and was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Roe, who died in 1987, three brothers, Harry Duncan, Delbert Duncan and Clinton Duncan and one sister, Uldean Fry.
Survivors include two sisters, Maxine Hammett of Cedar Grove, Jennie Lee Keel of Collegedale; two brothers, John Frank Duncan of Cedar Grove and Billie Warren Duncan of Huntingdon and several nieces and nephews.
