Michael Leon Lewis
HENRY - Michael Leon Lewis, 48, died Tuesday morning, January 15 at Jackson-Madison County Hospital.
Arrangements were incomplete at press-time. McEvoy Funeral Home of Paris will be in charge.

Douglas Edwards
McKENZIE - Douglas Edwards, 60, died Sunday, January 13 at his residence following a brief illness.
Trinity Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements which will be announced later.

Carl Linden Kelley
BRUCETON - Services for Carol Linden Kelley, 76, were at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 4 at Bruceton Church of Christ, with the Reverends Joe Abbott and Ted Gentle officiating. Burial was in Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Kelley, retired employee of Emerson Electric, died Friday, March 1 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born November 14, 1925 in Holladay to the late Carl E. Kelley and Julia Ann Smothers Kelley. He was a member of the Bruceton Church of Christ and a U. S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Elwanda Hatley Kelley; a son, Jerry Wayne Kelley of Bruceton; two sisters, Barbara Hollingsworth of Bruceton and Marie Kee of Camden and one grandchild.
A brother, W. B. (Shorty) Kelley preceded him in death.
Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Camden was in charge of the arrangements.

Willie Marie "Billie" Hampton
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Willie Marie "Billie" Hampton, 76, died Tuesday, February 26 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Ward officiating. Interment icon followed in the Humbles cemetery.
Mrs. Hampton was born March 1, 1925 in Carroll County to the late Willie Charlie Wyatt and Mittie Lou Everett Wyatt. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church and a homemaker. Her husband, Tom Hampton, who died in 1969, three sisters and one brother, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Hilliard of Huntingdon, two sons, Danny Hampton of Yuma and Ricky Hampton of Jackson; two brothers, Bob Wyatt of Huntingdon and Jimmy Wyatt of Jackson; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Bruce Elmer Tippitt
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Bruce Elmer Tippitt, 83, died Tuesday, February 26 at the Methodist Hospital in McKenzie. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, February 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Long Rock Methodist Church with Bro. Wayne Holmes officiating. Interment icon followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Tippitt was born January 1, 1919 in Benton County to the late John Elmer and Pearl Cox Tippitt. He was a World War II U. S. Army veteran, having served in the 82nd Airborne, was a member of the Long Rock Methodist Church and Methodist Men of the church, VFW of Hollow Rock, was on the Advisory Board of the First Bank of Huntingdon, and was a past president of the Farm Bureau and Co-Op boards. A brother, Kenneth Tippitt, who died in 1974, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Pate Tippitt; one daughter, Carol Bennett; three sons, Glenn Tippitt, Larry Tippitt, and Tommy Tippitt; one sister, Madelyn Williams, all of Huntingdon; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Emily Irene Boothe
McKENZIE - Services for Emily Irene Boothe, 73, were on Friday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home in Gleason with Rev. Harrell Nation officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Zion cemetery.
Miss Boothe died Tuesday, February 26 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
She was born May 29, 1928 in McKenzie to the late Marvin Boothe and Vertie Phillips Boothe.
She leaves a brother, Walton Booth of McKenzie.
Five brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

James Edward Johnson
LAVINIA - Services for Mr. James Edward Johnson, 73, were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 2 at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial in the Shiloh cemetery.
He was the widower of Wilma Johnson.
Surviving are a daughter, Lori Jones of Lavinia; a brother, Olen Johnson of Hernando, Mississippi and a grandson.

Noah Varney
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Noah Varney, 78, died Thursday, February 21 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. The body was cremated.
Mr. Varney was born March 10, 1923 to the late Patrick and Angeline Dool Varney in Williamson, West Virginia. He was a retired factory worker. His wife, Buna Atwood Varney, who died in 1988, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Joy Galindo of Cicero, Illinois and Joyce Ann Browning of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Patrick Varney of Brownsville and Noah Gale Varney of Williamson, West Virginia; one stepson, Jimmy Joynes of Brownsville; one sister, Jean Allen of Baltimore, Maryland; one brother, Herbert Varney of Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Patricia Ann Ross
HUNTINGDON - Memorial services for Patricia Ann Ross were held on Friday, November 2 at the family home at 177 West End in McKenzie, at which time the family received friends.
Mrs. Ross died Wednesday, October 31 at Jackson-Madison County Hospital.
She was born March 8, 1931 in Long Beach, California to the late Georgia Moore King and Charles Leroy King.
She is survived by her husband, George Ross; one daughter, Marla Ross of Pueblo, Colorado; one son, Michael Ross of Union City; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. The body was cremated.

Lennie Lee Walker
PARIS - Lennie Lee Walker, 80, died of cancer on Thursday, November 1 at Oak Manor Nursing Home in McKenzie.
Services were at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, November 4, at McEvoy Funeral Home with Gary S. Collier officiating. Burial was in Maplewood cemetery.
A Madison County native, she was born October 14, 1921 in Medon, a daughter of the late Felix and Ervie L. Gibson Smith.
She was married August 2, 1952 to Chesley D. Walker, who survives.
Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and a member of West Paris Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, Johnny D. Walker of Nashville and Kenneth Walker of Paris; and five sisters, Addie Gallimore and Martha Merrell, both of Dresden; Lorene Baxter of Milan, Ellie Crossno of Gleason, and Lavada Prather of McKenzie.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Timmy Lee Walker at three months in 1959; three sisters, Willie Estelle Smith in infancy, Laverne Stamps and mary Hearn Brewer; and one brother, Felix Dwayne Smith, at birth.

Maude Danner
GLEASON - Services for Maude Danner, 76, were Sunday, November 4, at 2:00 p.m. at Beech Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. Bob Copeland and Billy Garner officiating. Burial was in Hopewell cemetery.
Mrs. Danner died Friday, November 2 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
She was born November 14, 1924 in McKenzie to the late William Franklin and Donnie Turner York. She was a member of the Beech Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Danner; one brother, James York of Chicago, Illinois; one son, Danny Danner of Germantown; two grandsons; and one sister, Nola Milton of McKenzie.
Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ivy May Williams
McKENZIE - Services for Ivy May Williams, 92, were Saturday, November 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Summers officiating. Burial followed at Meridian cemetery in Greenfield.
Mrs. Williams died Wednesday, October 31 at McKenzie Health Care Center.
She was born July 8, 1909 in Dresden to the late Edgar Conway and Irene Crocker Conway. She was a member of Gearin Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Wilodine Lemons and Jean Morris, both of McKenzie, Eva Lois Morris of Dresden and Joyce Sexton of Greenfield; three sons, Theophilus A. Williams of Bradford, Billy W. Williams of Dresden and Doyle Williams of Gleason; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Theophilus Williams and a son, Richard Williams also preceded her in death.

Otis Green "Cokie" Neely
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Otis Green "Cokie" Neely, 89, died Saturday, November 3 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, November 6 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Kenneth Massey and Dr. Mickey Carpenter officiating. Interment icon followed in Bethlehem cemetery.
Mr. Neely was born January 9, 1912 in Carroll County to the late Dave and Minnie Dickerson Neely. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Barnhart Neely, who died in 1981; two sons, Earl Gordon Neely and Joe David Neely; one brother, Glenn Neely; and two sisters, Bessie Wilson and Maggie Wilson.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Neely Wilson; one son James Neely, both of Huntingdon; two sisters, Leecie Turner of Camden and Irene Yarbrough of Huntingdon; and four grandchildren.

John Thomas "Johnny" Sanders
HUNTINGDON - Mr. John Thomas "Johnny" Sanders, 67, died Wednesday, October 31 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 3 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lloyd Ray Rich officiating. Interment icon followed at McAuley cemetery.
Mr. Sanders was born April 29, 1934 in Carroll County to the late Tom Greene and Ollie Ridings Sanders. He was a cook for Humphreys Bar-B-Que for several years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Sanders, who died in 1973 and his second wife, Lillian Sanders, who died in 1996.
He is survived by two nieces, Sheila Segraves of Bruceton; Becky Black Johnson of Huntindon; three nephews, Connie Black and William Sanders, both of Huntingdon and James Ray Sanders of Hollow Rock; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
