Iris Irine Shands
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Iris Irine Shands, 79, died Wednesday, October 31, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 3 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Matt McAdams officiating. Interment icon followed at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Shands was born December 25, 1921 to the late Zena Oliver and Mirl Beatrice Burch Blankenship in Henderson County. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pisgah Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shands who died in 1994 and a son, Jerry Shands.
She is survived by two daughters, Robbie Butler of Buena Vista and Carol Waugh of Yuma; four sons, Larry Shands and Roger Shands, both of Huntingdon; Darrell Shands of Westport and Ricky Shands of McKenzie; one sister, June Williams of Bruceton; one brother, Oliver Blankenship of Camden; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Margie White
McLEMORESVILLE - Mrs. Margie White, 95, died Sunday, November 4 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, November 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Buddy Chandler officiating. Interment icon followed in the McLemoresville cemetery.
Mrs. White was born October 7, 1907 in Columbia to the late Joe Monroe and Tennie Cora Pipkin Ham. She was a housewife and a member of the McLemoresville Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Geraldine Taylor of Camden; a son, Billy White of McKenzie; one sister, Katherine Brown of Memphis; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Seth L. Rogers
CEDAR GROVE - Mr. Seth L. Rogers, 69, died Monday, November 5 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 7 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Robert Barger officiating. Interment icon will follow at Finley cemetery.
Mr. Rogers was born January 27, 1932 in Huntingdon to the late Luther and Lillian Pryor Rogers. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Rogers; three daughters, Julie Billingsly of Troy, Missouri, Jody Holmes of Collierville and Sue Cutright of St. Peters, Missouri; three sons, Seth Rogers, Jr. and Dale Rogers, both of Cedar Grove and Billy Rogers of McKenzie; one sister, Nancy Murphy of Huntingdon; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Aubry "Shiley" James
CEDAR GROVE - Services for Aubry "Shiley" James, 76, retired from Milan Box Factory and farmer were Wednesday, October 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Blue Goose United Pentecostal Church with burial in James cemetery in Cedar Grove. Mr. James died Monday, October 29 at Lexington Methodist Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Catherine James; a daughter, Mary Helen Azbill of Cedar Grove; a son, Aubrey Lee James of Cedar Grove; three sisters, Berdine McDaniel and Susie James, both of Jackson and Hattie Arthur of Selmer; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ben David James.
Reed's Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

John Hicks
McKENZIE - John Hicks, 85, passed away Monday night, November 5 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at presstime.
Ridgeway Funeral Home of Paris is in charge of the arrangements. Call 731-642-2121 for further information.

Miggie Owens
HUNTINGDON - Services for Mrs. Miggie Owens, 74, were on Saturday, July 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Yuma with the Rev. Billy Williams officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Owens died on Wednesday, July 25 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
She was born September 17, 1926 to the late Roxie Gooch and Doc Taylor. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband Cletus Owens and two sons, Cletus Owens, Jr. and Robert Lee Owens.
Survivors include seven daughters, Eventure Williams and Marylou Harmon, both of Lexington, Carolyn Owens of Bruceton, Peggy Owens and Helen Armour of Huntingdon, Molly Bailey of Buena Vista and Linda Dodd of Jackson; six sons, Floyd Owens and Donnie Owens of Bruceton, Jerry Owens and Billy Owens of Hollow Rock, Anthony Owens of Huntingdon and Timmy Owens of Lexington; 36 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mary Pate Pennell
McKENZIE - Services for Mary Pate Pennell, 87, retired clerk for Combs Jewelry Store, were on Thursday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Pennell died Tuesday, July 24 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie of heart failure.
She was born May 21, 1914 in McKenzie to the late Fairy Arnold Pate and Roy Pate.
Survivors include a son, Phillip Edwards of McKenzie; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Roy Pennell, preceded her in death.

Kenneth Willie Davis, Sr.
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Kenneth Willie Davis, Sr., 92, died Saturday, July 28 at his residence. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 30 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Holmes officiating. Interment icon followed in Davis Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Davis was born September 16, 1908 to the late John Marshall and Willie Bell Yates Davis. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren. He was a retired farmer, a member of WOW and a member of Davis Chapel Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Vonnell Brandon Davis of Huntingdon; three sons, William Clayton Davis of Shalimar, Florida, Rayburn Davis and Kenneth Davis, Jr., both of Huntingdon; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Anne Morgan Burrow
BRADEN: Anne Morgan Burrow, 76, a retired account clerk for Arlington Development Center, died of cancer Tuesday, July 24 at her home. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 27 at Braden United Methodist Church where she was a member and organist for 40 years. Burial was in Walls cemetery with Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home in Somerville in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Burrow, a former resident of McKenzie and widow of Billy Jack Burrow, was the daughter of the late Edward and Irene Morgan.
Survivors include a daughter, Amy Burrow Barcroft of Brownsville; three sons, Layne Burrow of Bolivar and Eddie Burrow and Jack Burrow, both of Braden; a sister, June Morgan King of Benton, Kentucky; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Braden United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society Fayette County Chapter.

Patrick Henry "Pat" Bishop, Sr.
HOLLOW ROCK - Mr. Patrick Henry "Pat" Bishop, Sr., 73, died Sunday, July 29 at his daughter's residence of cancer. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, July 31 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Brothers Jim Roberts and Bill Goodpasture officiating. Interment icon followed in the Mixie Church cemetery.
Mr. Bishop was born June 1, 1928 in Bethel Springs to the late William Everett and Audrey Duncan Bishop. He was a retired welder for the West Tennessee Public Utility District and a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ. His wife Betty Sayle Bishop preceded him in death on April 24, 1999.
He is survived by two daughters, Patti Foster of Huntingdon and Joanie Dill of Riverside, Iowa; one son, Pat "Spud" Bishop Jr. of Hollow Rock; one brother, William "Bill" Bishop of Paris; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Joe "J. B." Thomas
MILAN - Services for Joe "J. B." Thomas, 79, were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 31 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Atwood. Burial was in the Mt. Olive Church cemetery.
Mr. Thomas, a truck driver, died Thursday, July 26 at Methodist LeBonheur Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Thomas and two sisters, Ms. Rena Seets of Huntingdon and Ms. Katherine Frame of Cedar Grove.
Baskerville Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

T. Willie Adkisson
TREZEVANT - T. Willie Adkisson, 77, died Monday, July 30 at Devel Hospital in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Arrangements were incomplete at press time.

Martha Faye Beasley
McKENZIE - Services for Martha Faye Beasley, 80, will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 1 at McKenzie Church of Christ with Brother Jim Roberts and Brother Kenneth Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Caledonia cemetery in McKenzie.
She was born March 25, 1921 in Gleason to the late Hattie Seaton Stephenson Wheat and Walter Lee Wheat. She was a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Charlene Hawkins and a son-in-law, Joe Hawkins of Anamosa, Iowa; a sister, Rozell Fodge of McKenzie; three brothers, Bob Wheat of Dresden, Marlon Wheat of Bradington, Florida and Max Wheat of Los Alamos, New Mexico; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Clayton Beasley.

Burnice E. Guill
TRENTON: Funeral services for Mr. Burnice E. Guill, 86, were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9 at Springhill Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Guill, a retired automobile tech, passed away, Monday, August 6 at Methodist Healthcare-Central in Memphis of respiratory failure. He was a World War II veteran serving 3' years in the 126th Infantry, 32nd Division in New Guinea and the Philippines and retired from Madison Cadillac in Memphis.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Adams Guill; a daughter, Mary Jo Guill of Trenton; a son, Bruce Hearne Guill of Trenton; a sister, Elizabeth Guill Fagan of Pasadina, Texas and a brother, M. A. Guill of McKenzie.

Robert Ward
McKENZIE - Services for Robert Ward, 56, were at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 15 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Sam Hollis officiating. The body was cremated.
Mr. Ward a retired serviceman for Carhart, died Monday morning, August 13 at his home.
He was born July 12, 1945 in Dyer.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Ward of McKenzie; his mother, Maxine Ward Webb; three sisters, Janice Turnbow of McKenzie, Connie Lee of Greenfield and Vickie Lienhart of Michigan; one brother, Larry Ward of McKenzie; two half-brothers, Thomas Webb and Ervin (Bonco) Webb, both of Greenfield; and three grandchildren, Brittany Ward, Brandon Ward and Blake Ward, all of McKenzie.
His father, Robert Lee Ward, preceded him in death.

Elbert Mark Twain Lawrence
KATY, TEXAS: Mr. Elbert Mark Twain Lawrence, 52, formerly of Carroll County, died Wednesday, August 15 from injuries he received in an automobile accident. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, August 22 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel. Interment icon followed at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Lawrence was born August 20, 1948 in Huntingdon. He was an assistant manager for Walgreen Drug Stores.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Lawrence; his mother, Katherine Kail; three sons, Joshua David Lawrence, Bobby Darren Reeder and Mark Anthony "Tony" Lawrence; five sisters, Teresa Reeves, Kay Crum, Betty Howard, Peggy Fingernut and Mary Butler; and one granddaughter.
