J.C. Miller
1925-2002
YUMA - Mr. J.C. Miller, 76, died on Monday, August 19 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, August 21 at 3:00 p.m. at the Yuma Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Kevin Hollingshead officiating. Interment icon followed in the New Hope cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born September 14, 1925 in Carroll County to the late Henry Denmon and Joan Ridley Carnal Miller. He was a farmer and a member of the Yuma Missionary Baptist Church. A daughter, Carolyn Jean Miller and a son, Gordon "Pee Wee" Richard Miller preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Emma Jean Miller; four daughters, Deloris Williams and Janice Boyd, both of Huntingdon; Tammie Berry and Jamie Miller, both of Yuma; one son, James Norman Miller of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Hazel Eugenia Roberts
1907-2002
McKENZIE - Services for Hazel Eugenia Roberts, 94, were at 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 23 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Vance Rushing officiating. Interment icon was in Everett's Chapel cemetery.
Mrs. Roberts, widow of Harold Roberts, died on Wednesday, August 21 at Oak Manor Health Care.
She was born September 12, 1907 in Murphysboro, Illinois. She was a retired waitress and homemaker.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Betty Roehrs of St. Louis, Missouri, two grandchildren, Iris Elaine Rye and Stephen Roehrs, both of St. Louis, Missouri; three sisters-in-law, Monnie Crocker, Edith Foster and Blondell Greer; five great-grandchildren and three nieces, Margie Keeney and Jeanie Harott of St. James, Missouri and Elsie Tucker of Caseyville, Illinois.

Rev. Lawson Williamson
ATWOOD - Services for Rev. Lawson Williamson, formerly of Atwood were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24 at the First Baptist Church in Atwood with Rev. David Lawler and Rev. King Thetford officiating. Bodkin Funeral Home of Milan was in charge of the arrangements.
Rev. Williamson died on Monday, August 19 at his home in Leavenworth, Kansas after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He served the ministry forty-six years, serving churches in West Tennessee and Western Kentucky. At his death, he was a member of the Leavenworth Baptist Church in Leavenworth.
Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Gladys Jones Williamson; two daughters, Pamela Lynn Bowles and Esther Elizabeth "Beth" Smith; three grandchildren; two sisters, Lorene Crocker and Linnie Walden and one brother, Leamon Williamson, all of Milan.
Memorials may be sent to Leavenworth Baptist Church at 803 S. Broadway, Leavenworth, Kansas 66048.

Dora Lorane Clement
1931-2002
McKENZIE - Services for Dora Lorane Clement, 71, were at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 20 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Burial was in Shiloh cemetery.
Mrs. Clement died on Sunday, August 18 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
She was born September 22, 1931 in McKenzie to the late Nora Robbins Stone and Ebbin Brinkley Stone. She was a member of the Calvary Tabernacle Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include her husband, Buford Clement; five daughters, Betty Watson, Mary Lou Crocker, Barbara Reed, and Shirley Higdon, all of McKenzie and Margie Bush of Santee, California; four sons, Billy Clement of McKenzie, James and Elvis Clement, both of Gleason and Johnny Clement of Huntingdon; a brother, J.D. Stone of Chicago, Illinois; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Shirley Ruth Willis
1939-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Shirley Ruth Willis, 63, passed away Thursday, August 22 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Lonnie Parker officiating. Interment icon followed in the Humbles cemetery.
Mrs. Willis was born May 24, 1939 in Carroll County to the late Jimmie and Ella (State) Williams. She was a sewing machine operator for Publix Shirt Corporation before becoming disabled and was a member of the Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, Hulon Willis, who passed away on September 18, 1990 and a sister, Corene Johnson, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Johnson of Huntingdon; one son, Hulon Mike Willis of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Retha Mae King and Oneita Thomas, both of Huntingdon; and three grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home of Huntingdon was in charge of the arrangements.

Hulon McDade
1935-2002
McKENZIE - Services for Hulon McDade, 67, will be at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 28 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Summers officiating. Burial will be in Union Academy cemetery.
Mr. McDade, a retired employee of Publix Shirt Factory in Huntingdon, died Sunday August 25 at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 26, 1935 in Trezevant to the late Geneva Edlin McDade Lundy and Joe McDade. He attended Union Academy Baptist Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include a son, Charlton McDade of Bradford; a brother, J.T. McDade of Trezevant; and three grandchildren, Clayton, Jordan and Hannah McDade, all of Bradford.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27 after 5:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home.

Hobson Reagan, Jr.
1930-2002
DRESDEN - Services for Hobson Reagan, Jr., 72, were at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 23 at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Terry Griffin, Fady Al-Hagal and Bob Copeland officiating. Burial was in New Hope cemetery.
Mr. Reagan, a retired backhoe operator, died Tuesday, August 20 at the VA Hospital in Nashville.
He was born April 15, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Hobson Reagan, Sr. and Bessie Bailey Grooms Reagan. He was a member of Adams Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Merrell Reagan; seven sons, David Reagan of Ozark, Alabama, Gary Reagan and Larry Reagan, both of Dresden; Charles Reagan of Martin, Johnny Reagan of Fulton, Kentucky, Donald Reagan of Union City and James C. Reagan of Nashville; a daughter Lora Moseley of Martin; a brother, Robert (Buddy) Grooms of Marshall, Michigan; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A brother, James Grooms and two sisters, Ethel Lou Moore and Ruby Heidel preceded him in death.

Mallie M. Wilson
1934-2002
GLEASON - Services for Mallie M. Wilson were at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 28 at Gallimore Funeral Home with burial in New Valley cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson died Tuesday, August 20 at Methodist Volunteer Hospital.
Her parents, Ira W. and Myrtle Williams Sanders, her husband, James E. Wilson and a son, Jimmy Lee Wilson preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Mikey Wilson and Terry Wilson, both of Gleason; four sister, Virginia Turner of Lacey Springs, Alabama, Frances Steadman of Jasper, Alabama, Zima Mae Turner of Hohenwald and Rachel Corum of Gleason; two brothers, A.C. Sanders and Huey Sanders, both of McKenzie; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Melvin Leon Ellis
McKENZIE - Services for Melvin Leon Ellis, 82, were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Pence officiating. Burial was in Carroll Memorial Gardens in McKenzie.
Mr. Ellis, a retired truck driver, died Thursday afternoon, April 18 at McKenzie Health Care Center.
He was born November 12, 1919 in Greenfield to the late Brinnie Cantrell Ellis and Robert C. Ellis. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellis of McKenzie and two brothers, Garland Ellis of McKenzie and John W. Ellis of Dyer.

Louis Donald "Don" Pruett
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Louis Donald "Don" Pruett, 70, died Monday, April 15 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, April 19 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ted Duffy and Bro. James Humphreys officiating. Interment icon followed in the Union Academy cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Pruett was born July 14, 1931 in Trezevant to the late Ronald I. And Callie (Pratt) Pruett. He was a member of the Baptist Church, a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, worked for Wal-Mart for sixteen years and was last working part-time for Huntingdon Star Ford. One daughter, Lesleigh Pruett and one brother, Maurice Pruett also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Launa "Lee" Pruett; one daughter, Rose Edwards of Knoxville; two stepdaughters, Sonya Ozment of McKenzie and Staci Gallimore of Camden; one son, Mark Pruett of Cocoa, Florida; one stepson, Randy Ruddell of Newbern; two sisters, Patsy McDaniel of Huntingdon and Jeanne Sutter of Horn Lake, Mississippi; three brothers, James Pruett, Howard "Punk" Pruett, and Joe Pruett, all of Huntingdon; two grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren and eight nieces and five nephews.
Honorary pallbearers who served were Allen Williams, Lynn Breeden, Tim Kelly, Bryan Cook, Keith Trevathan, Chris Trevathan, Bro. George Hill, Bro. Jim Reynolds, Tom Roberts, Dwight Williams, Phillip Welch, Mike McDade, Jamie White, Joe DePriest, and Jerry Smith.

Mildred L. Lewis
McKENZIE - Mildred L. Lewis, 77, died Sunday morning, April 21 at Oak Manor Health Care Center. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, April 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Henry Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Merwin and Bro. Jerry Drye officiating. Burial followed in Henry cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Aldridge, Elvis Wallace, Johnny Barger, Billy Dean Kelly, Billy McCain, Michael Vermillion and honorary pallbearer was Lloyd Ray Lewis.
Mrs. Lewis, the daughter of the late Clyde Jarrett and Kate Kelley Jarrett was born November 19, 1924 in Huntingdon. He was a retired school bus driver for the Henry County school system, a member of Henry Baptist Church and an Eastern Star. A son, Mike Lewis and a brother, Roy Gene Jarrett, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Mitchell Lewis of Henry; two sons, Danny Lewis of St. Louis, Missouri and Lloyd Lewis of Henry; one sister, Elizabeth Thomsen of McLemoresville; seven grandchildren, Misty Vermillion, Miranda Lewis, Mary Beth Lewis, Sarah Lewis, Lloyd Ray Lewis, Daniel Jarrett Lewis, and Timothy Russell Lewis; two great-grandchildren, Macy Vermillion and Mattie Grace Vermillion.

Margie Ann Akin
MILAN - Graveside services for Margie Ann Akin, 51, were at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 22 at Pleasant Hill cemetery. Bodkin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Akin, a homemaker, died Thursday, April 18 at her home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include a son, Dana Akin of McKenzie; four sisters, Mary Sue Cantrell and Linda Moore, both of Dyer, Betty Pillow of Trenton and Martha Mayo of Atwood; five brothers, Johnny Gray of Las Vegas, Nevada, W. C. Gray of Humboldt, Jimmy Gray of Atwood, Jerry Gray of Bradford and Sonny Gray of Henderson and three grandchildren.

Dr. Kenneth Doyle Miller, Sr.
HUNTINGDON - Dr. Kenneth Doyle Miller, Sr., 81, died Tuesday, April 16 at his home. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, April 19 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William Bailey officiating. Interment icon followed at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Dr. Miller was born April 3, 1921 in Illinois to the late George and Velma Lingle Miller. He was an optometrist and a member of the First United Methodist Church. His wife, Frances Miller, who died August 24, 1993 and a brother, Robert Miller, preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Kenneth D. Miller, Jr., of New Orleans, Louisiana and William Miller of McKenzie; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
