McKENZIE - Services for Mrs. Catherine T. Parsons, 87, were held Friday, June 14, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's Baptist Church in McKenzie with burial following in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Parsons, a missionary, died June 6 in Toledo, Ohio.

J.B. "Buster" Horton
MCEKENZIE: Mr. J.B. "Buster Horton, 85,passed away early Wednesday, June 12 at his home. Reverends Vance Rushing and Dennis Beal officiated the funeral services Friday, June 14. Mr. Horton is buried in Enon cemetery.
Mr. Horton was born July 4, 1916 in Carroll County to the late Lucian and Eulah Boswell Horton. A brother, William R. Horton and two sisters, Hazel Reynolds and Cora Langley preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Geneva Horton; two sons, Malcolm Horton and Tom Horton, all of McKenzie; a brother, Clifford Horton of Huntingdon; three grandchildren, Jon Horton and Paul Horton of McKenzie and Amy Horton of Clarksville; and three great-grandchildren, Shelby Horton, Nicholas Horton and Lane Horton.
Lucy Rebecca New
HUNTINGDON - Services for Lucy Rebecca New, 89, were held Friday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial followed in the Shiloh cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. New died Tuesday, June 11 at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Miss New was born January 28, 1913 in Carroll County to the late George Pagby and Hattie Jane Barksdale New. She was a schoolteacher and principal at the Huntingdon Primary School and a member of the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Two brothers, Joseph W. New and George Edward New preceded her in death.
Survivors include six nieces and nephews.

Lonnie Glynn Newell
JACKSON - Services for Lonnie Glynn Newell, 48, were Thursday, June 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home with burial in Davidson Chapel cemetery. Mr. Newell, disabled, died June 10 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Corbin Newell of Medina; his mother, Mrs. Eutoka Newell of Medina; a daughter, Lisa Harper of Cedar Grove; a son, Jerry Newell of Medina; four sisters, Linda Chandler of Milan, Brenda Franks of Medina, and Lillie Mae Moss and Barbara Riggs, both of Huntingdon; two brothers, Needham Lee Newell, Jr. of Humboldt and Ronnie Newell of Trenton and two grandchildren.
Georgia Nell Taylor Newbill
TREZEVANT - Services for Georgia Nell Taylor Newbill, 78, were held Sunday, June 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Wingo Baptist Church with Rev. J. C. Webb, Sr. officiating. Burial was in the Wingo cemetery.
Mrs. Newbill died Wednesday, June 12 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
She was born September 16, 1923 in Wingo to the late Hurley and Emma Norman Taylor. Her husband, James Newbill, also preceded her in death. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Stubblefield of Paris and Emma L. Williams and Betty Howard, both of Trezevant; four sons, George W. Taylor of McKenzie, Charles Newbill of Paris, Robert Taylor, Jr. of Atwood and Bobby Taylor of Jackson; four sisters, Odesia Hurt and Reatha Mae Lipscomb, both of McKenzie and JoAnn Taylor and Willie Tate, both of Trezevant; three brothers, Earl Taylor and Hurley Taylor, both of Trezevant and Boodie G. Stanford of Youngstown, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Jean O'Flinn Smith
McKENZIE - Graveside services for Jean O'Flinn Smith, 86, were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20 at Clay Memorial cemetery in Cuba, Alabama with Rev. Donnie Minor officiating.
Mrs. Smith, a retired nurse, died Sunday, June 16 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
She was born April 17, 1916 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late Edward and Flora C. O'Flinn. She was a member of the Cuba, Alabama Methodist Presbyterian Church, the Mississippi Board of Nursing and The Jackson Aspires. Her husband, Thomas A. Smith preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Holcomb of McKenzie, two sons, Thomas A. Smith, Jr. and Carleton O. Smith, both of Clanton, Alabama; two brothers, Charles R. O'Flinn of Rockford, Connecticut and George A. O'Flinn of Cottondale, Alabama; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Michael Scott English
GLEASON - Services for Michael Scott English, 39, were at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 17 at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scott Penick officiating. Interment
followed in Meridian cemetery in Greenfield.
Mr. English, a truck driver, died Friday, June 14 at Methodist Volunteer Hospital-Martin as the result of injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
Mr. English was born October 8, 1962 in Lansing, Michigan.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Galey of Sharon, his stepfather, Jimmy Galey of Greenfield, his father, Jim Vemison; one son, Michael Travis English of Gleason, one stepdaughter, Demetra Clements of Greenfield, two sister, Cherie English of Sharon and Kimberly Workman of Dresden; two step-sisters, Donna Norwood of McKenzie and Kathy Tucker of Greenfield; three brothers, Bill English of McKenzie, Lonnie Galey of Sharon and James "Bo" Galey of Dresden and two grandchildren.
Billy Wayne Davis
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Billy Wayne Davis, 61, died Sunday, June 16 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. The family will have a private memorial service in Texas.
Mr. Davis was born March 30, 1941 in Texas to the late Elmo Murray and Pauline Bell Davis. He was a technician for Security Systems and a U.S. Naval veteran of Vietnam.
Survivors include three daughters, Jodi Pruitt of McKenzie, Angie Moon of Ft. Worth, Texas and Brenda Davis of Aurora, Texas and two grandchildren.

Lucille Crider Hazelwood
MILAN - Services for Mrs. Lucille Crider Hazelwood, 74, will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 20 at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Cavitt officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood cemetery in Milan.
Mrs. Hazelwood, a retired teller for the former Milan Banking Company, died Monday, June 17 at her residence.
She was born in Milan on August 31, 1927 to the late George L. (Fate) and Lucille Algee Crider and had lived in Milan most of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class. In 1987, she was named "Woman of the Year" by the Milan Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include two sons, Don Hazelwood and John Hazelwood, both of Milan; a daughter, Laura Bateman of McKenzie; a brother, Cecil G. Crider of Milan; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Milan.

Joseph Eugene "Rusty" Lifsey
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Joseph Eugene "Rusty" Lifsey, 54, died Monday, June 3, at the Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Carter and Bro. Fred Ward officiating. Interment
followed in the Obion Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Lifsey was born September 4, 1947 in Gibson County. He was a member of the Obion Chapel Church of Christ, a supervisor for Henry I. Siegel Company of Thirty-four years, and was an avid golfer. A nephew, Kevin Rogers, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married
May 14, 1966, Karen Hampton Lifsey; two sons, Mike (Amanda) Lifsey of McKenzie, and John Lifsey of Martin; eight sisters, Patsy Frazee of Conyers, Georgia, Sue Butler of Huntingdon, Diane Rogers of Cedar Grove, Vicky Vaden of Bells, June Gray of Trezevant, Lisa Jones of Cedar Grove, Kim Simpson of Bradford, Betty Lou Cooper of Trezevant; two brothers, Jim Lifsey of Clarksville and Steve Lifsey of Cedar Grove; two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers who served were H.B. Adkinson, Lyndle Barker, Jamie Barker, Lyndel Smothers, Bobby Jack Cantrell, and Larry Tippitt. Honorary pallbearers were Jonathan Hampton and Tracy Webb.
Janice N. Wright
NASHVILLE - Mrs. Janice Nell Wright passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 4. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and is at rest with her Lord and Savior. She was born September 3, 1948 in McKenzie and was a graduate of McKenzie schools.
Surviving are her husband, James R. Wright; her parents, Warren and Brooxie Barksdale; a brother, Kenneth Barksdale; two sisters, Shirley (Ed) Crustchfield and Alice (Frank) Barrett; aunts and uncles; two nieces and one nephew and two great-nieces.
Services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 7 at Woodlawn Chapel of Roses. Interment
followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation, American Kidney Foundation or the Humane Association.
Charles Meals
LEXINGTON - Funeral services for Charles Meals, 56, were held Saturday, June 8 at 3:30 p.m. at Reed's Chapel in Lexington with Phil Mitchell, Wayne Rowan and Dan Cooper officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery. Mr. Meals died Thursday, June 6 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was a former teacher and principal in the Henderson County school system at Bargerton School, former Superintendent at the Clarksburg Special School District and was presently serving as the Superintendent of the Caywood School in Lexington. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, a member of Gideon's International and a member of the Lexington Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Meals of Cedar Grove; one son, Nick Meals of Cedar Grove, and his mother, Hazel Meals of Lexington.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Gideon's International Society.
Mildred Louise Fowler
McKENZIE - Services for Mrs. Mildred Louise Fowler, 67 were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 11 at Blooming Grove Methodist Church in McKenzie with Rev. Bruce Crane and Brother Keith Pence officiating . Burial was in Blooming Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Fowler, a homemaker and factory worker, died Saturday, June 8 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
She was born May 16, 1935 in Atwood to the late Zoalo Bates Morris and L.A. Morris. She was a member of the Blooming Grove Methodist Church.
Her husband, Leon Fowler, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Fowler of McKenzie, David Fowler of Durham, North Carolina, and Ricky Fowler of McKenzie; and eight grandchildren, Eric Fowler, Krystal Fowler, Kelly Fowler, Laura Fowler, Taylor Fowler, Courtney Fowler, Nathan Fowler, all of McKenzie and Bradly Fowler of Huntingdon.
