Roy Eugene Goodrum
1928-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Roy Eugene Goodrum, 74, died Friday, July 5, at his home. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, July 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Huntingdon Church of Christ with Brother Stan Brantley and Brother Bill Goodpasture officiating. Interment icon followed at Oak Hill cemetery.
Mr. Goodrum was born March 6, 1928 in Leach to the late Joseph Hersey and Edna Mae Wooters Goodrum. He was a retired postmaster for the United States Postal Service; a minister at the Yuma Church of Christ; Bible class teacher and a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ. He was also a World War II army veteran. A sister, Hazel Dewhitt, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Virginia Belew Goodrum; three daughters, Peggy Cruze of West Chester, Ohio, Lynne Brantley of Huntingdon and Betty Pritchard of Huntingdon; two sisters, Frances Eskew and Doris McMackin, both of Huntingdon; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Manuel D. McCullough
1930-2002
CEDAR GROVE - Services for Manuel D. McCullough, 72, were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 5 at Little Grove Baptist Church with Rev. E. Lynn Harrison officiating. Burial was in Little Grove cemetery.
Mr. McCullough died Monday, July 1 at NHC Healthcare of heart disease.
He was born January 17,1930 in Lavinia. He was a member of Little Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy McCullough; his mother, Ardena Smith of Milan; a brother Elijah McCullough; a stepdaughter, Darniece McGhee of Rutherford; a stepson, Ernest Jones, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada and three step-grandchildren.
Bond Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

J.R. Green
1935-2002
GLEASON - Services for J.R. Green, 66, were at 2:00 p.m., June 26 at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Auvenshine officiating. Burial was in Hopewell cemetery.
Mr. Green, a disabled mechanic, died on Monday, June 24 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
He was born July 10, 1935 in Bogota to the late J.W. and Edna Whitlow Green. He was a member of Tumbling Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alice J. Kent Green; four sons, Ray Green of McKenzie, Mike Green of Gleason, Danny Green of Henry and Terry Green of Milan; four daughters, Cathy Dyer of Dresden and Paula Gordon, Sherry Fowler and Tammy Williams, all of Gleason; a brother, Johnny Green of Mason, Michigan; a sister, Norma Ogden of Union City; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A brother, Travis Green preceded him in death.

Laycee Faith Williams
2002
HUNTINGDON - Miss Laycee Faith Williams, six weeks old, died Sunday, July 7 at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Columbus officiating. Interment icon followed in the Humbles cemetery.
Miss Williams was born May 26 at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
Survivors include her parents, Greg and Karen Drinkard Williams; maternal grandparents, Mack and Pauline Drinkard; paternal grandmother, Betty Lou Williams; one sister, Hannah Williams; and two brothers, Seth Williams and Dantae Williams, all of Huntingdon.

John D. McCollum
1957-2002
HUNTINGDON - Services for John D. McCollum, 45, were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6 at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McLemoresville with the Revs. Lotdell Love, Jr. and C.E. Pipkin officiating. Burial was in the McLemoresville Community cemetery in McLemoresville.
Mr. McCollum died at Methodist Hospital in Huntingdon due to a car accident.
He was born April 17, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church in Trezevant.
Survivors include his mother, Ida Mae Bell McCollum of Huntingdon; four sons, Marcus Reeders, La'Darius McCollum and Maurice McMath, all of Chicago and John White of Lexington, Kentucky; a brother, Donnie Bell of McLemoresville; a sister, Gloria Carter of McLemoresville; his fiancee' Cynthia Calhoun, a close friend, Faye Reeders, several nieces and nephews and 10 grandchildren.

Charles Marshall McBride
1919-2002
HUMBOLDT: Services for Charles Marshall McBride, 82, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 10 at Brummitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery.
Mr. McBride died Monday, July 8 at Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt.
He was born July 29, 1919 in McKenzie to the late Lucy Reynolds McBride and John T. McBride. He was a World War II army veteran and a member of the Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church in Paris.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy McBride of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Joann Smith of Hamlin, New York; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His wife, Lois Todd McBride, preceded him in death.

Samuel Kenneth Carrell
1967-2002
McKENZIE - Services for Samuel Kenneth (Ken) Carrell, 35, were at 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 16 at First Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Trull and Bro. Vance Rushing officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Carrell died Wednesday, August 21 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
He was born June 20, 1967 in Paris. He was employed as a greeter for Wal-Mart for approximately 10 years, working both in McKenzie and Huntingdon. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Kenny and Jane Carrell; two sisters, Van Carrell Sadler of Henderson and Lisa Ellis of McKenzie; nieces and nephews, Cory and Brittany Ellis of McKenzie and Courtney and Jacob Sadler, both of Henderson.

Willard Barksdale
1925-2002
McKENZIE - Services for Willard Barksdale, 77, were at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 16 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Trull and Bro. Clayton Owen officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Barksdale, retired superintendent of McKenzie Parks, Street, and Sanitation Department, died Tuesday, August 13 at McKenzie Healthcare Center.
Mr. Barksdale was born July 6, 1925 in McKenzie to the late Pauline Sexton Barksdale and George Barksdale. He was an army air force veteran of the World War II South Pacific Theatre and a member of the American Legion Post #37 and a member of the VFW Post 4939. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, was a Bethel College alumni; a Mason, and a former member of the Carroll ASCS Board.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Miller Barksdale; two daughters, Jennifer Waldrup and Penny Knott, both of McKenzie; two sons, Billy Barksdale and Mark Barksdale, both of McKenzie; two brothers, Warren Barksdale of McKenzie and Kenneth Barksdale of Doe Valley, Kentucky; six grandchildren, David Barksdale, Brad Barksdale, Marty Morris, Shane Barksdale, Shay Barksdale and Shelby Barksdale; two step-grandchildren, Kelli Jones and Kasi Darby; one great-grandchild, Beau Barksdale and one step-great-grandchild, Tess Darby.
A brother, Wendell Barksdale and a sister, Mary Frances Bannister preceded him in death.

Martha Nell Bush
1919-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Martha Nell Bush, 83, died Sunday, August 18 at her home. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, August 20 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eastview Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Atwood officiating. Interment icon followed in the Wheeler cemetery near McEwen.
Mrs. Bush was born March 15, 1919 to the late Robert Ernest and Pearl Elizabeth Trotter Harris. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastview Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Ray Bush; one brother, Hershel Harris of Clarksville and one sister, Sara H. Batson of Clarksville.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Samuel Kenneth Carrell

Dora Lorane Clement
1931-2002
McKENZIE - Services for Dora Lorane Clement, 71, were at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 20 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Burial was in Shiloh cemetery.
Mrs. Clement died Sunday, August 18 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
She was born September 22, 1931 in McKenzie to the late Nora Robbins Stone and Ebbin Brinkley Stone. She was a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include her husband, Buford Clement; four daughters, Betty Watson, Mary Lou Crocker, Barbara Reed, all of McKenzie and Margie Bush, of Santee, California; four sons, Billy Clement of McKenzie, James and Elvis Clement, both of Gleason and Johnny Clement of Huntingdon; a brother, J.D. Stone of Chicago, Illinois; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Ollie P. Cozart
1902-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Ollie P. Cozart, 100, died Wednesday, August 14, at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, August 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parkers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Clark officiating. Interment icon followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Cozart was born May 24, 1902 in Clarksburg to the late John and Martha Howard Parker. She was a member of the Parkers Chapel Church and a homemaker. Her husband, Emit Cozart, Sr., who died in February, 1980, one daughter, Brooksie Nell Weathers, who died in February, 1994 and five sons, Parker Cozart who died on August 1, 1998, Hershel Cozart, who died in October, 1994, Ray Cozart, who died in August, 1999, David Cozart, who died in March 2000 and Emit Cozart, Jr., who died December 21, 2001 also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine C. Wilson of Huntingdon and Daisy Mae Johnson of Clarksburg; two sons, Walter Cozart of Huntingdon and Leon Cozart of Riverside, California; two sisters, Vesti Anderson of Jackson and Lera Buckley of Lexington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
