William F. "Bill" Morgan, age 88, of Rockvale, died Friday, April 21, 2006 in Murfreesboro.
He was a native of Rutherford County and was a son of the late Thomas Monroe and Evie Frances Campbell Morgan. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army serving during World War II. Mr. Morgan was a retired fireman working at both Arnold Engineering and Development Center and Stewart Air Force Base. He also was a retired refrigeration mechanic having worked for Rutherford County Co-op Creamery, Murfreesboro Dairy Equipment Company and Kays Ice Cream Company. He was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Morgan who died in 2004.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Frankie K. Morgan of Rockvale; daughters, Billie Faye (Larry) Johns of Shelbyville, Elizabeth (John) Elizondo of Roswell, New Mexico; daughter-in-law Gail Morgan of Rockvale; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Sylvia Ann Lynch, age 48, of Belfast, Tennessee, died Friday, April 21, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia.
She was a native of Bedford County and a daughter of Sam B. and Jessie N. Lynch. Ms. Lynch was a disabled factory worker having worked at Empire Pencil Company. She was preceded in death by a brother, Andy Lynch and two sisters, Betty Cline and Martha Parker.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Caldwell Brown of Shelbyville; son Herman 'Buddy' Caldwell of Shelbyville; parents Sam B. and Jessie N. Lynch of Unionville; sisters Linda Childers of Shelbyville, Connie Reed of Shelbyville, Rita Sanders of Unionville; brothers Eddie Stacy of Unionville, Buster Stacy of Shelbyville; and three grandchildren.

Randall Eugene Walker, age 47, of Rockvale, died Friday, April 21, 2006, at his residence.
He was a Baptist minister and a member of River Rock Baptist Church. He was an Air Force veteran and had worked for Delfield Company for 17 years, and coached baseball for 15 to 18 year old boys and girls softball.
Survivors include his wife, Maylene Vaughn Walker; daughters Erica Jaye Potter of Brighton and Shelly Krieger of Rockvale; sons Randall Eugene Walker II and Calvin Thomas Simpson, both of Atoka; parents James and Bertha Walker of Munford; sisters Myra Leigh Walker of Munford and Christine Lynn Billings of Burlison; four grandsons and four granddaughters.
Donald Flippo, age 62, of Chapel Hill, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 in Shelbyville.
He was a native of Bedford County and was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Chapel Hill. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Gordon Flippo and his mother, Lacy Bell Francis Flippo Kelley.

Louise King Smith, age 78, of Murfreesboro died Friday, April 14, 2006, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. A native of Cannon County, she lived most of her life in Rutherford County. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Oral and Mahalie King; a brother, Carl Edward King; and a sister, Edith Vickers. She is survived by her husband, Billy Guy Smith of Murfreesboro; daughters Linda (Jimmy) Skinner of Eagleville and Sherry (Todd) Dockery of Jacksonville, Fla., grandchildren Michelle (Darrell) Huffman and Todd Gordon Dockery III; and great-grandchildren Tate and Mahaley Huffman.

Joseph Christian Hoehne, age 20, of Murfreesboro, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 14, 2006. A native of Davidson County, he lived most of his life in Warren county and attended Maryville College. He was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church.
Joseph is survived by his parents, Eric Carl (Cheryl) Hoehne of Rockvale and Leigh Ann Ramsey (Joe) Tilley of Murfreesboro; grandparents James and Mildred Ramsey of Murfreesboro, Vera Best of Nashville and Frances Hoehne of Sevier County; a brother, Joseph Michael Hill of La Vergne; nieces Lily and Kimberly Hill of LaVergne; sisters Heather Marie Tilley and Tiffany Denise Tilley of Murfreesboro; and uncles Jimmy Ramsey and Paul Hoehne.

Mack Osburn, 83, of Murfreesboro and Triune, died April 8, 2006. A native of Williamson County, he was the son of the late Mary Virginia McMurray Osburn and Leslie Wilson Osburn. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nell Davis Osburn, and his sister, Mary Louise Benson.
Mr. Osburn graduated from Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tenn., in 1940. He served as a 1st Lieutenant and was a decorated B-24 pilot during World War II in the South Pacific with the 380th Bombardment Group, 5th Air Force. He received his bachelor of science degree in agricultural engineering in 1950 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He was a lifelong farmer and was employed as Williamson County highway superintendent for 12 years, and retired as a highway maintenance engineer with the state of Tennessee. He was a charter member of the Nolensville Lions Club and a member of the Williamson County Court.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Wright Osburn of Murfreesboro; sons Nally (Lynda) Osburn of Davidson, N.C., Tally (Magda) Osburn of Arrington, Tenn., Gary (Ruth) Osburn of Triune and Bobby Osburn of Franklin; stepchildren Taylor Wright, Wayne (Creeda) Wright, Randy (Regina) Wright, Steve (Kim) Wright, David Wright, Ann (Dale) Wright Tarpley and Richard (Teresa) Woods, all of Murfreesboro; and Jimmy (Kimberly) Wright of Knoxville; grandchildren Michael Osburn, Kristen Osburn, Kaitlen Osburn, Sara Osburn, Katherine Osburn, Mark Osburn, Claire Osburn, Davis Osburn; 19 stepgrandchildren and one step-great-grandson.
Carl L. Harvey Jr., 80, of Unionville, died Sunday, April 9, 2006. He was born in Statesville and was the son of the late Carl L. Harvey Sr. and Pauline Smith Harvey.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Evelyn Lannon Harvey, in 1997. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and was a maintenance supervisor at MTSU. He is survived by his wife, Janice W. Harvey of Unionville; a son, Kenny (Linda) Harvey of Goodlettsville; daughters Dianne (Don) hall of Murfreesboro and Annette (Charles) Byrd of Nashville; stepchildren Randall (Dawn) Boyce of Shelbyville, Roger (Rebecca) Boyce and Becky Sanders of Unionville; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and brothers Howell (Betty) Harvey of Waverly, Forrest (Virginia) Harvey of Monroe, La., and David (Joanne) Harvey of Lebanon.
Woodrow Edward Medlock, age 93, of Murfreesboro, died at his residence on Tuesday, April 4, 2006. He was a native of Paris, Tenn. in Henry County.
Woodrow was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a devoted friend to all. He was a pastor and teacher for more than 70 years and was the founder and pastor of Jesus Way of Life Church.
He performed weddings, funerals and baptized the multi-thousands. He was a humble man who was never too busy or too tired, or the hour too late to go to someone on need.
He was a frequent visitor to jails, prisons and hospitals, as many as five times in one day, locally, and in other counties and states. He and his wife, Ruth, went on a mission trip to the poverty-stricken side of Jamaica.
A multitalented person who held certificates in insurance, real estate, auctioneer, and reflexology, he was a gifted motivational speaker. But his greatest desire was preaching God's word. His one last wish was to reach out to someone lost and facing eternity without Jesus.
In his early days, he preached at Powells Chapel and Westvue Baptist Church, and afternoons at Patterson, Wayside, Mt. Carmel, New Hope and Hoover's Gap. He was pastor of Bellwood Baptist Church and Christian Academy for 40 years. He donated the land and was administrator at the beginning of Good Shepherd's Children's Home.
He was a pastor in Bedford County before returning to Murfreesboro, where he organized Jesus Way of Life Church and met at Rucker Chapel for two years before moving to 2022 East. Main Street, where the members purchased the church and fellowship hall. Brother Medlock was a friend, and a pastor who served well day or night, regardless of the hour. He was a mountain of a man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ode and Pearl Chandler Medlock; son Carl Medlock; sisters Matilda Medlock Kelton and Willie Vona Medlock; great-grandchildren Raven Star and Steven Heckler; and stepson Steve Cole.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Templeton Cole Medlock; son Woody Medlock and his wife Kathy; daughters Mary Underwood and her husband James, and Sally Brown and her husband Roger; grandchildren Joann Johnson and her husband David, Bubba Medlock and his wife Kate, Lydia Kelly, Josh and Thomas Underwood, Christy Bond and her husband, Shannon Heckler and her husband, Steve, and Brittany and Ashley Brown; four step-grandchildren, Crystal, Rick and Justin McCullough and Ashley Cole; 10 great-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
Evelyn Smith Barrett, 99, passed away Monday, April 3, 2006, at Boulevard Terrace. She was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Concord Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James "Jim" Smith and Savannah Rutledge Smith; husband Laymon Lee Barrett; sons J.W. Barrett and Laymon Lee Barrett Jr.; daughters Lorene Barrett and Mary Frances Carlton; brothers Fred, Thomas, James Alfort, Willard and Jessie Smith; sisters Florence Davis, Savannah Smith, Alice Williams, Mamie Bucy and Estelle Jacobs.
She is survived by daughter Earlene McDaniel of Eagleville; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Ruby Stem Lamb, age 86, of the Rover community of Bedford County died Saturday, March 11, 2006 in Nashville. A homemaker and member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hatton Lamb, who died in 2004. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Peggy Vaughn of Eagleville; a son, the Rev. Thomas "Tom" Lamb of the Rover community; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Trout of Chapel Hill; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
