HOMER “DADDY DOC” ZIMMERLE
Homer “Daddy Doc” Zimmerle, age 90, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Thursday morning, July 14, 2011 in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Mr. Zimmerle was born in Davidson County, TN and was a son of the late Louis William and Chloe Redding Zimmerle. He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired after 20 years of service with AVCO Industries of Nashville. Mr. Zimmerle attended the Chapel Hill Church of Christ and was a member of the Chapel Hill Senior Citizens. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Arvizine “Mama Arv” Zimmerle, who died in 1997; daughter, Chloe Nichols; sons, Chip Zimmerle and Phillip Zimmerle; step-son, Phil McElhaney; sister, Lorene Blunckall; brother, Charles Zimmerle; grandchildren, Tammy Nichols and Scott Zimmerle and daughter-in-law, Reba Zimmerle.
Mr. Zimmerle is survived by his wife, Dot Bills Zimmerle, Chapel Hill, TN; daughters, Pat (Dan) Cody, Bunell, FL, Kim Zimmerle, Chapel Hill, TN; sons, Mike (Donna) Zimmerle, Chapel Hill, TN, Dan (Lori) Zimmerle, Nashville, TN; step-sons, Max (Donna) McElhaney, Ken McElhaney, Kenneth Bills, Kevin Bills, all of Lewisburg, TN; daughter-in-law, Rita Zimmerle, Bunell, FL; 24 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren.

Thomas "Tom" H. Webb, age 52, of Murfreesboro died Friday, March 28, 2008 at home. He was a native of Rockvale.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Crystal Webb of Murfreesboro; mother, Wanda M. Steagall of Rockvale; sisters, Gail Webb, Anna Webb, Susan Webb, and Laura Webb Ralston, all of Rockvale; nieces Teri Lynn Potts, Andrea Minton and Rachel Ralston; nephews, Jack Wright PFC stationed in Korea, Elliott Ralston and Caleb Ralston; great-nephew, Charlie Potts; aunt Pam Corum; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas H. Webb, and step-father, Jack Steagall.
He was a 1973 graduate of Riverdale High School and had worked at Bridgestone for 20 years.

Dorothy Rose Reid Crockett, age 91, died peacefully at her home on March 17, 2008 surrounded by a loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Thompson Overton Crockett Jr.; sons Thompson Overton Crockett III and John Reid Crockett; grandchild Lisa Pinckney Crockett; and parents John Murray and Lula Small Reid.
She is survived by son, Lloyd Pierce (Elizabeth) Crockett; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was active for many years in various civic and community organizations, serving as President and former member of the Franklin High School PTA, Tennessee Parent Teachers Association, Four Seasons Garden Club, Rockvale Home Demonstration Club and the Carter House Association. In addition she was a longtime member of the Fourth Avenue Church of Christ in Franklin and later, the Rockvale Church of Christ in Rockvale. Nanny was special to us in so many ways. She will be long remembered as a kind and gentle lady, filled with love and caring for her family and friends alike. We have all been blessed by her presence in our lives. May God grant her eternal peace in His heavenly home. A special thanks to the staff at Morningside of Franklin, Mary Louise Murphy and Sally Nance for their constant, loving support.

Jason Alexander Gill, age 29, of Rockvale, died March 9, 2008, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He was born in Davidson County.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Gill, son Kelan Alexander Gill, daughter Kya Shea Gill, all of Rockvale; mother Karen (Harold) Haynes, Franklin; father Adlai (Jay) Gill, Smyrna; brother Justin Gill of Smyrna; grandparents, Edna Gill of Smyrna and W. R. and Sue McCracken, Waco, Texas; mother-in-law Terri Beals of Mt. Juliet; grandmother-in-law Tommie Burchett of Arkansas; brother-in-law Casey Beals of Mt. Juliet; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Jason was a devoted husband, loving father; and he cherished his family and friends.

Mr. Jesse C. Rigsby Sr., age 81, of Eagleville died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at his home. Mr. Rigsby was born in Howe, Texas, and was a son of the late Marcus Key and Jennie Gannon Rigsby. He was a bulldozer operator and mechanic and he, along with his two brothers, were owners and operators of Rigsby Brothers Grocery, Garage and Construction Company of Eagleville and Allisona. Mr. Rigsby was a member of the Eagleville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Grace Jewell Rigsby who died in 2005; a brother, J. W. Rigsby; and by a grandson, Mark Rigsby.
Mr. Rigsby is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Butch Wabby of Franklin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jesse Clayburn and Betty Rigsby Jr. and Steve and Cathy Rigsby, all of Eagleville; sister, Ethel Pardue of Goodlettsville; brother and sister-in-law, Merkle and Betty Rigsby of the Allisona comm.; sister-in-law, Lorene Rigsby of Eagleville; three grandchildren, Cindy Henson of Chapel Hill and Jesse Z. Rigsby and Sierra Rigsby of Eagleville; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Danny Underwood, age 30, of Unionville, died Monday, March 3, 2008 at Bedford County Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A native of Bedford County, Mr. Underwood was a son of Granville Eugene Underwood and Deborah Kelley who survive. He was employed as a welder at Holt Specialty Equipment in Eagleville.
Survivors in addition to his parents are 2 daughters, Shelby Jade Underwood and Danni Lynn Davis of Unionville; a brother, Quinten Underwood of Unionville; a sister, LeAnn Kelley of Chapel Hill; grandparents, Granville Sanders Underwood, Jr. and Marie Underwood of Eagleville; special friend, Karrie Lynn Gray of Unionville; several aunts and uncles; 2 nephews.

Bruce William "Big" Phillips, age 33, of Midland Community died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at his home.
He is survived by his parents, Louis and Cynthia Markham Spurling of Rockvale; companion Holly Willow; daughters Matdeline Phillips and Elizabeth Phillips, both of Rockvale; grandparents Bettie and Steve Markham of Murfreesboro; brothers Michael Phillips of Pulaski and Troy Spurling of Rockvale; and sisters Tina Daforno and Rebecka Spurling, both of Rockvale, Amy Wolfenbarger of Knoxville and Tonia Lewter of Auburntown.

Temple Kirkpatrick Smith Jr., age 20, of Murfreesboro passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008. He was a native of Rutherford County and the 2006 Valedictorian of Eagleville High School where he was active in student council. He also attended MTSU.
He is survived by his parents, Temple Kirkpatrick "Kirk" Smith and Kimberly Brinkley Smith, sister Rebecca "Becca" Gayle Smith, all of Christiana; grandparents Catherine Fletcher Smith of Murfreesboro, Jerry and Gayle Brinkley of Franklin; and great-grandmother June Brinkley of Franklin.
He attended World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro and was a youth group leader for Youth Alive in Rockvale.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Temple Kirkpatrick Smith Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund at any MidSouth Bank for Eagleville High School students.

Owner and operator of Poplar House Restaurant in Spring Hill, Tn, songwriter and musician, attended Leipers Fork Primitive Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Barkley & Mary Lou Lewis Johnson; sisters, Wanda Faye Johnson & Alice Corrinne Lynn. Survived by brothers, Douglas B. (Pat) Johnson, Burwood Community & Clarence (Linda) Johnson, College Grove, Tn; sisters, Martha Jane Sparkman, Franklin, Tn, Doris Daniels, Franklin, Tn, Betty Ann (Billy) Hilliard, Nashville, Tn, Edith Wakefield, Franklin, Tn, Nancy Lou (John) Carrington, Spring Hill, Tn; several nieces, nephews & many friends. Funeral services were conducted February 29, 2008 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home. Interment, Johnson cemetery.

W.A. "Will" Hartley, age 78, of Nashville, died Friday, February 29, 2008 following an extended illness. A native of Williamson County, Mr. Hartley was a son of the late Essie Euin and Frances Rebecca Vaughn Hartley. He was a retired maintenance engineer. Mr. Hartley was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Drennon Hartley, a brother, Paul Hartley and 3 sisters, Dovie Giles, Marietta Beard and Classie Lancaster. Survived by 4 daughters, Sheila Tomes and Brenda Cooper of Nashville, Martha Wilcher of Murfreesboro, and Ruth Gristy of Dowelltown; 2 sons, James Hartley of Murfreesboro and Dan Hartley of Rockvale; 4 sisters, Janie Manier of Columbia, Lena Jakes and Lucy Shedd of Murfreesboro, and Eva Leathers of Rockvale; 3 brothers, Leslie Hartley of Tullahoma, Johnny Hartley of Franklin and Jimmy Hartley of Murfreesboro; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gloria Mae Spurgeon, 61, of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Stonecrest Medical Center. A native of Pontiac, Michigan she was a resident of Murfreesboro. She was a homemaker, member of Calvary Baptist Church and a patient advocate with Kidney Foundation Healthcare and supported various church organizations providing meals, mentorship and prayer partner with the youth.
Ms. Spurgeon was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Mae White; sister, Gail Ann White; brother, Roger Thomas. She is survived by her father, Thomas H. White of Anacoco, LA; daughter, Katrina Waldrip of Rockvale; son, Vernon Spurgeon of Hornbeck, LA; sister, Barbara Gannon of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Ian Waldrip, Joshua Waldrip, Gabrielle Spurgeon and Alexis Spurgeon.

Constance Leo Grande, age 81 of Rockvale, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at her residence. A native of Ada, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Elizabeth Myers Stephens. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Loredo of Rockvale and JoAnne Petchonka of Murfreesboro; brother, Leo Stephens of OK; special granddaughter, LaDonna Olivencia of CA; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; best friends, the Guliano family. She was preceded by granddaughter, Nicki Loredo.
She was the first woman CEO for Clariol and served for 25 years. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers, Sue Stewart, Lisa Bean, Belinda Lovett, Dawn McCullough and to Caris Hospice.
