Tennessee, U.S., Delayed Birth Records, 1869-1909
Jean Marie Frost Toombs, age 71, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2005 at the home of her daughter in Smyrna. She was surrounded by many family members and friends.
Mrs. Toombs and her late husband of 43 years, Mack Toombs, owned and operated a dairy in Culleoka, Tennessee. She was a native of Williamson County and was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Nan Holton Frost. Mrs. Toombs was a member of Old Jefferson Church of Christ, Smyrna Senior Citizens and the Almaville FCE Club.
Survivors include daughter, Nancy Scott of Smyrna; sons and daughters-in-law William and Sandra Toombs of Columbia; Roger and Sara Toombs of Columbia; brothers; Carl Frost of Eagleville, Alvin Frost of Murfreesboro, Don Frost of Hendersonville, John Frost of Murfreesboro; grandchildren Wiley, Ashley, Jordan and Damon Toombs of Columbia; Jason Scott, Tim and Mike Owen of Smyrna, Jeania (Matt) Smith, Sara (Jimmy) Prewitt of Murfreesboro; great grandchildren Shelby and Cheyenne Toombs of Columbia.
A special thanks to loving caregivers, Rosemary Colvin and the ladies from Elderly Services, Dr. Peter DiCorleto, Dr. John Barton and Staff and the staff of Eckerd Drugs in Smyrna.

Robert Frazier Ogles, 78, of Murfreesboro died Sunday, June 19, 2005, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
A native of Rutherford County, Mr. Ogles was the son of the late William Ernest and Amanda Burch Ogles. He was a member of the Barfield Baptist Church, a 1945 graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School and a retired foreman and lineman with Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation with 44 years of service.
Mr. Ogles was married to the late Johnnie Ruth Weeks Ogles, who died in January 1977.
Survivors include son Brent (Nancy) Ogles of Eagleville; daughter Regina (Jim) Stephens of Murfreesboro; his sister, Mrs. Addie Steele, of Murfreesboro; and seven grandchildren.

Buford Donnell Williams, 71, of the Versailles community, died Monday, June 13, 2005, at his home from an apparent heart attack. A native of Rockvale, he was the son of the late Buford and Effie McGee Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Peggy Rogers Williams; son Tim Williams, of Rockvale; son and daughter-in-law Keith and Jean Williams, of Unionville; daughter and son-in-law Jacqueline and Charles Elam, of Christiana; six grandchildren: Rachel Williams, Chaz Elam, Ryan Williams, Emily Elam, Megan Williams, Courtney Williams.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by three brothers: Russell Lee, James M. and William Williams; sister Margaret Bowling.
He was a member of Rockvale Church of God and was vice president of Hodge Manufacturing Company. He was a member of the Murfreesboro Noon Rotary Club for 28 years and was a member of the Rockvale Masonic Lodge and was a former member of the Rockvale Ruritan Club. He served in the U.S. Army for six years.

Lucy Mabel Thompson Shaw, 99 1/2, of College Grove, formerly of Chapel Hill, died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at her home in College Grove where she had lived her retirement years.
Mrs. Shaw was a graduate of Forrest High School and Middle Tennessee State University. She was a member of the Marshall County Retired Teachers Association. Her career spanned for over 40 years as a teacher in the Marshall County School System. Mrs. Shaw was the oldest member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Shaw who died in 1989, her parents, James W. and Louella Thompson, sisters, Nell T. Osborne and Mayme T. Marshall; brother, A.K. Thompson and grandson, Joe Wilson.
She is survived by daughters, Elynor Shaw Bellenfant of College Grove, Jimmye Lou Shaw Smith of Tullahoma, Nell Shaw Wilson of College Grove; sister, Ona Walton of Memphis; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Rachel Moody Deere, 82, of Murfreesboro died Sunday, June 5, 2005. A native of Henderson County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Carson and Dallas Powers Moody. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Deere. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was a retired teacher, having taught in Giles, Franklin and Rutherford counties. She was an MTSU dorm director, Elderhostel hostess and Red Cross volunteer.
She is survived by daughters Benita (Wayne) Carpenter and Twana (Lin) Cantrell, both of Murfreesboro; grandchildren Cameron and Collin Carpenter and Laura and Kery Cantrell, all of Murfreesboro; and sister Violet Maxwell of Scotts Hill, Tenn.

J.H. "Jakie" Cole, age 69, of Murfreesboro passed away Friday, June 3, 2005, at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, he was a machine technician at a hosiery mill and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Marvin and Mary Irene Hill Cole; brother Robert Cole; sister Lee Opal Spence; and step-daughter Vickie Waffird.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Cole of Murfreesboro; daughters Tina (Charles) Barrett of Rockvale and Dawn Michelle (Edgar) Martin of Lascassas; step-daughter Deborah Kay (Mike) Gibbs of Murfreesboro; brothers Aubrey Cole and Thomas Cole, both of Murfreesboro; grandchildren C.J. and Dovie Barrett and Breanna and Emily Martin; step-grandchildren Leonard, Johnny and Angela Gibbs and B.J. and Bandy Barlow; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Johnnie Myrtle Underwood, age 77, of Eagleville died Friday, June 3, 2005, in Murfreesboro. Mrs. Underwood was a native of Rutherford County, a homemaker and a member of the Harpeth Lick Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Maupin Hargrove Beavers; her father, Roscoe Patterson; her husband; Jimmie Lee Underwood, who died in 1993; and a son, Terry Wayne Underwood.
Survivors include daughter Betty Lou Swisher of Unionville; sons James L. (Wally) Underwood of Eagleville and John T. Underwood Sr. of Murfreesboro; sisters Betty Jo Leverett of Unionville and Linda Blackwell of Lewisburg; brothers Albert Hargrove of Nashville, Don Hargrove of Shelbyville, Jimmy Hargrove of Lewisburg and Jerry Hargrove of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Will “Bill” Pruitt Jr., 75, a resident of Council Bluff, Iowa, since 1961, died of natural causes on May 31, 2005, at Lhasa, Tibet, China, while on vacation.
He was born on January 13, 1930 to William and Omega (Young) Pruitt in Rockvale. He was a graduate and completed two years of college. He was a Jr. Sgt. Major in the U.S. Army from 1947-1966. He was the owner of Army Surplus Sales in Council Bluff from 1968 until the present. He was a member of the Catholic faith and Quick, Iowa, Amber Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Martha (Rojas) Pruitt, of Council Bluff; daughter, Shirley Pruitt-Ostenso and husband, Zed of Council Bluff; sons, Alex Pruitt, MD and wife Jean, of Spencer, Iowa and Billy Pruitt and wife, Pam Derrenger-Pruitt, of Council Bluff; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Alline McCall and husband, Jack, of Eagleville; brothers, Raymond Pruitt and wife, Edna, and Benton Pruitt and wife, Marge, all of Nashville and Alton Pruitt and wife, Billie Ann, of Murfreesboro.

Bennie Mae Lamb Taylor, 81, of the Rover community of Bedford County, died Monday, May 23, 2005, in Shelbyville. Mrs. Taylor was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Robert Benjamin and Alta Mai Carlton Lamb. She was a retired administrative assistant with the Tennessee Game and Fish Commission and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in the Rover community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Gene C. Taylor; sisters, Mrs. Rothwell Camp and Mrs. Frances Klooz; and a brother, Bill Lamb.
She is survived by sisters Myrtle Lamb Price, Joyce Runez Lamb Atterholt, and Ruth Lamb Deming, all of Shelbyville.

Jack M. Tucker, 64, of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, May 14, 2005, in Murfreesboro. He was a native of Williamson County and served in the United States Army. He was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ and was a retired area manager for Nissan Corporation, Smyrna. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Sara Scott Tucker; son Scotty M. Tucker; parents Winston and Lenora Tucker; sister Mary Ann Tucker; brothers Gordon Tucker and Tom Tucker. He is survived by wife Rebecca Lorance Tucker, of Murfreesboro; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law Lisa and Phil Maxwell, of Anderson, S.C.; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law Mark and Carolyn Lorance, of Rockvale; sister and brother-in-law Jane and Amos Gruber, of Murfreesboro; brothers and sisters-in-law Harold (Bud) Tucker, of Murfreesboro, Arthur (Sal) Tucker, of Eagleville, Robert and Evelyn Tucker, of Lewisburg, Pete and Margaret Tucker, of Eagleville; stepgrandsons Jimmy Fults and Zachary Lorance, of Murfreesboro.

Richard Paul Ramirez, Jr., age 46 of Rockvale, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010. A native of Kansas City, Kansas. He is survived by his son, Rayan Ramirez of Woodbury; mother and step father, Carmen (Larry) Griggs of KA; father and step mother, Richard (Mildred) Ramirez Sr. of Murfreesboro; three brothers, Patrick (Angie) Ramirez, James Ramirez and Larry Griggs all of KS; many nieces and nephews.
