Harold "Paw Paw" Tune, age 82, of Eagleville died Thursday, March 8, 2007, in Shelbyville. Mr. Tune was a native of Williamson County and was a son of the late Tom and Fannie Mae Underwood Tune. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Pearl Brown Tune who died in 1990.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah J. Kelley of Bell Buckle, Brenda (Jody) Land of Eagleville, Shirley Tune of Eagleville; sons Eddie Tune of Eagleville, Tommy Tune of Unionville, Donald R. (Sara) Tune of Unionville, Charles Larry Tune of Chapel Hill; brother Horace Elam Tune of Unionville; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Joe F. Lynch, age 65 of Unionville died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at his home after an extended illness. Mr. Lynch was a native of Bedford County and was a son of the late Jim B. Lynch and Lou Bertha Lynch. He was a retired brick mason and was a member of the Unionville United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Leigh Lynch, who died in November of 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Lynch, Unionville; three daughters, Sandra Manier of the Rover Community, Jo An Smotherman Frazer of Unionville, Donna Holder of Unionville; son, Tony Lynch of Unionville; two brothers, Henry Lee Lynch of Shelbyville, Sam B. Lynch of Unionville; seven grandchildren, Jr. Manier, Keisha Smotherman Smith, Nikki Manier, Joseph Lynch, Justin Holder, Kelsey Holder, A.J. Lynch; great grandchild, Caleb Lee Smith.

Brenda Joyce Burton Campbell, age 55, of Murfreesboro died Monday, March 5, 2007, at Centennial Medical Center. She was born in Franklin. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Baptist church and a Rutherford County school bus driver for the past 18 years.
She is survived by her husband, Hershel McArthur Campbell; daughter Delina Campbell of Murfreesboro; son Allan Campbell of Murfreesboro; parents Johnie and Thelma Harper Burton of College Grove; sisters Deborah (Roger) Angell of Gallatin and Angela (Sam) Madzia of Elmwood; brothers John (Pamela) Burton of Greenbrier and Dennis (Carole) Burton of Gallatin.
Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna

Eugene Cooper Lamb, age 79, of Murfreesboro, formerly of the Rover community of Bedford County, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007, in Murfreesboro. A native of Bedford County, he was the son of the late Basil Eugene and Christine Shearin Lamb. He attended Rover Baptist Church and was a retired farmer and dairyman. He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Dwight Lamb.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Marie Crick Lamb and son Eric Daniel (Danny) Lamb, both of Murfreesboro.

Sally E. Wilson Perrell, age 82, of Nashville passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at St. Thomas Alive Hospice. A native of Overton County, she lived most of her life in Rutherford County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist church.
Mrs. Perrell was preceded in death by her husband, George P. Perrell; parents Boone Benjamin and Hattie Elizabeth Ford Wilson; and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by son Gary (Brenda) Perrell of Old Hickory; daughter Donna (George) Fletcher of Franklin; sister Laura Bryant of McMinnville; and grandchildren Jeff and Kyle Perrell.

Donna Lea Lamb, age 59, of Rockvale died February 12, 2007. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sharber; grandparents Dolphis and Beatrice Sharber; and son Johnny. She is survived by her loving husband, Joe Lamb; sons Greg, Kenny and Jason Thorn; daughter Shonda Estrada; brothers Mike and Mark Fluty, Steve and Russ Williams; and sisters Judy and Brenda Williams.

Brenda Bowman, age 54, of Eagleville died Sunday, January 21, 2007, in Murfreesboro. She was a daughter of the late John William and Tassie Pruitt Bolden.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Bowman of Eagleville; daughter Hope (Howard) Bowling of Murfreesboro; sons Thomas "Bubba" (Heather) Bowman and Elliott (Crystal) Bowman, all of Chapel Hill; brothers Ben Bolden of Eagleville and William Bolden of Unionville; and six grandchildren.

Joyce Elaine Black Joy, age 60, of Unionville died Wednesday, January 17, 2007. A native of Wellington, Texas, Mrs. Joy was a daughter of the late Johnny Randolph and Oma Nadine Hall Black. She was a retired cook and caregiver.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Larry Joy of Unionville; daughter, Mrs. Terri Rene Perrell of Unionville; sons, Larry Ronald Joy of Unionville and James Dewayne Joy of Shelbyville; sister, Patricia Kastle of El Paso, Texas; brother, Danny Randolph Black of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Jennifer Taylor Jones, age 43, of Rockvale passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2007, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was a native of Jackson, Tennessee and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Eugene Taylor, and her stepfather Henry W. Bland. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Harold Jones Jr. of Rockvale; daughters Kristen Borgen, Laura Lee Brady and Cheyenne Harris, all of Murfreesboro; son Ian Borgen; grandsons Blake Borgen, Kenneth Tate, Brendan Tate and Devyn Brady; mother Frances Jetton Bland; grandmother Nell Jetton, all of Murfreesboro; stepmother Janie Taylor of Jackson; brother Steve (Kim) Taylor of Thompson’s Station; sisters Julie Chambless (Wade Plunkett) of Woodbury, Kimberly Morgan (Rich Dody) of Crystal River, Florida and Karen (Duane) White of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by dear friends Joe Creel and Melissa Brown and many other devoted friends and family.

Calvin Marvin Jones, age 71, of Murfreesboro passed away Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Boulevard Terrace Nursing Center. A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, he was a retired farmer.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Bivens Jones; and his parents, Clayton A. and Mamie L. Pitts Jones. He is survived by sons Randy (Jean) Jones of Murfreesboro, Mike Jones of Smyrna, Larry (Debbie) Jones of Murfreesboro and Hugh (Brenda) Jones of Eagleville; daughter, Sara Frances (Robert) Richardson of Fayetteville; brothers Carlton Jones of La Vergne and Cecil Jones of Ohio; sister Dorothy Pomeroy of Nolensville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Dudley Merritt, passed away Monday, January 8, 2007. He was a native of Rutherford County, but had lived in Chattanooga for the past 70 years. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Spitler Merritt and the son of the late Joshua and Polly Merritt.
He retired from TVA as a supervisor of power transmission line design after 40 years’ service. He was a graduate of the University of Chattanooga, was elected captain of the football team and was selected on an All-South team. He served in World War II in the Navy Seabees.
Survivors include two brothers, Johnny Merritt, of Eagleville, and Jimmy Merritt, of Franklin; one sister, Azilee Dewey, of Lavergne; and special friend Thelma Gilreath, of Chattanooga.

Raymond LaDwain Billings, age 75, of Murfreesboro died January 4, 2007 after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Lee and Eulit Pike Billings; brother Roy Billings; and sister Marie Anglemyer.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Groom Billings; sons Randall (Patsy) Billings, Lannie "Shorty" (Annette) Billings and Donnie (Lori) Billings, all of Rutherford County; daughters Vickie Billings Crawford of Smyrna, Connie Billings Ghee of Murfreesboro and Scarlett Davis of Murfreesboro; brother William (Pearl) Billings of Sacramento, Calif.; sisters Lena Billings Judd, Becky Billings (Mark) Arnold of Mt. Juliet and Mary Billings (Larry) Vaughn of Hendersonville; grandchildren Christie Rigney, Shannon Brewer, Kim Davenport, Kara Crawford, Nicholas Davenport, Matthew Ghee, Michael Ghee, Melissa Horn, Dylan Billings, Noah Billings, Steven Weathers, Rodney Weathers, Brandy Williamson, Devlin Mullins, Cheyenne Bennett and Jody Brummett; sister-in-law Betty Melton; several nieces and nephews; nine great-grandchildren; and special family Jimmy, Gale and Kristin McKnight.
Mr. Billings was a graduate of Rockvale High School and Knox Business College. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a retired roofing contractor. He was a Christian, a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Melvin Newcomb, age 68, of Chapel Hill, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 in Columbia. Mr. Newcomb was a natvie of Marshall County and was a son of the late William Authur and Willie Kate Ragsdale Newcomb. He was retired from Heil Quaker Corporation of Lewisburg aft 20 years of service. Mr. Newcomb was a member of the Church of God. He is preceded in death by a sister, Nannie Griggs and two brothers Bud Newcomb and Audie Newcomb.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Newcomb of Chapel Hill; daughters, Kimberly Newcomb, Chapel Hill, Shree Newcomb, Shelbyville; sons, Keith Newcomb, Chapel Hill, Kenneth Newcomb, Unionville, Kerry Newcomb, Chapel Hill; sisters, Maggie Rainey and Judy Norwood, both of Lewisburg; brother, Paul Newcomb, Farmington Community; nine grandchildren, Jessica Blackwell, Bridget Whitson, Brandon, Brian, Brent, Tyler, Madison, Layne and Kaley Newcomb; great greadson Jemaric Armstrong.

Marquerite Johnson Smiley, age 95, of Chapel Hill died Monday January 1, 2007 in Lewisburg. Mrs. Smiley was a native of Earlington, Kentucky, and was a daughter of the late William Mark and Jessie Taylor Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Chapel Hill. Mrs. Smiley was preceded in death by her husband, John Lowry Smiley, who died in 1983, by a daughter, Dorothy Louise Austin and tow sons, Gordon Smiley and Joseph Daniel Smiley.
Mrs. Smiley is survived by daughters, Helen Marie Verven of College Grove, Kay Horton of Thompson Station; sons, Joe N. Smiley of North Carolina, John D. Smiley of Lewisburg, and Mike E. Smiley of Franklin; special friend and caregiver, B.J. Wallace of Belfast; sister, Evelyn Vanek of Avon, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren.
