Pauline 'Polly' Johnson Sanford, age 83, of Triune, Tennessee, died Thursday, February 16, 2006 in Franklin, Tennessee. Mrs. Sanford was a native of Dunlap, Tennessee and was a daughter of the late John B. and Jenny Moffitt Johnson. She was a homemaker and was retired after 20 years of service as a diet clerk for Williamson County Hospital. Mrs. Sanford was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Warner Sanford, who died in 2004, and by a son, James Granville Sanford, who died in 1998.
She is survived by: sons, Charles B. Sanford of Nolensville, John W. Sanford of College Grove; daughter, Karen L. Hatcher of the Flat Creek Community of Williamson County; sisters, Mrs. Jewell Lewis of Chattanooga, Mrs. Vestral May Cunningham of Chattanooga; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

James R. Shipman, age 81, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at his home in Chapel Hill after an extended illness. Mr. Shipman was a native of Columbus, North Carolina and was a son of the late William and Margaret Priest Shipman. He retired after 20 years of service in the United States Navy having served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Shipman also retired as an assistant regional manager for the General Services Administration for the United States Federal Government. He was also very active in the Walking Horse Industry having owned and showed many Walking Horses. Mrs. Shipman was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Ruth Norton Shipman who died in 1992; a daughter, Margaret Chapman; sister, Virginia Tomaso; brother, Elmer Shipman; and grandson, Staff Sgt. Todd Edward Nunes who was killed in 2004 while serving in Iraq. He is survived by: daughters, Barbara Nunes of Chapel Hill, Mary Catherine Shipman of Vienna, Virginia; son, Clyde R. Shipman of Newbern, North Carolina; brothers, William Shipman of Grotten, Connecticut, Rev. Francis Shipman of Timmonsville, South Carolina; one grandson, Brian Nunes; and four great grandchildren.

Jerry Lee Burns, age 66, of Rockvale, died Monday, February 6, 2006 after a brief illness. He was a native of Rockvale and the son of the late Thomas P. "Doc" and Vera Looney Burns.
He is survived by his wife, Deniese Caldwell Burns of Rockvale; daughters Lisa (Greg) Batey of Lascassas, Ronda (Nelson) Vaughter of Rockvale, and Jennifer (Derek) Schmitz of Millersville; sons Barry Burns of Rockvale, John (Beth) of Murfreesboro, and B.J. Burns of Rockvale; sister Sarah Burns (Kenneth) Frizzell of Murfreesboro; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Burns was a member of the Rockvale Church of God. He was a graduate of Rockvale High School and a 30-year member of the Rockvale Ruritan Club. He was the owner and operator of Burns Motor Company.

Terry Wayne White, age 56, of Unionville, died Friday, February 3, 2006 in Shelbyville. He was a native of Marshall County and a son of the late Joe Edward and Mary Christine Blackwell White. He was a retired construction worker and attended the Shelbyville Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to his parents, Mr. White was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Woodson, who died in 2005 and two brothers, Charlie White, who died in 1991 and Bobby Joe White who died in 2005.
He is survived by his wife Patricia M. White of Unionville; daughters, Barbara Mooneyham of Shelbyville, Sheila White of Chattanooga; son Terry Woodson of St. Paul, Minnesota; sisters Frances Hawkins of Upland, California, Martha Alarcon of Quito Ecuador, Sandra Whitney of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, Remona Moon of the Haskins Chapel community, Donna Ledford of Chapel Hill; brother Dorris White of the Haskins Chapel community.

James Donald "Donnie" Pinkston, age 63, of Murfreesboro died Wednesday, February 1, 2006, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, he was a farmer and former owner of Crescent Market and Midland Market. He was a former Rutherford County commissioner for the Seventh District. He was a member of Midland Baptist Church. Mr. Pinkston was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby E. Williams Pinkston. He is survived by his wife, Linda Ogles Pinkston of Murfreesboro; father Sammie L. Pinkston of Rockvale; sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey and Michele Pinkston of Murfreesboro and Michael and Shelly Pinkston of the Midland Community; sister Gloria (James) Farris of Rockvale; and grandchildren Spencer, Lindsey, Matthew and Sarah.

Buford Christopher, age 65, of Arrington died Saturday, January 28, 2006. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Pete and Thelma Williams Christopher. Mr. Christopher was worked for Maxwell Feed Mill. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by son Buford Christopher Jr.; daughters Regina Stephens and Tina Lovvorn; brothers Wesley and John Turney Christopher; sisters Lorene Blanks, Betty Tucker, Dorothy Christopher; and three grandchildren.

Timothy Fritz Turner, age 56, of San Antonio, Texas, died Tuesday, January 24, 2006. He was born in Hamburg, Germany to Kurt Karl and Dorothy Ahrens Weber on April 23, 1949. Tim was the kindest, most courteous and helpful person, he worked for Siemens for 21 years as a field service repairman of Bio-Medical Equipment and served for ten years in the US Army as a transportation specialist. He was skilled in electricity, carpentry, plumbing and mechanical maintenance and completely remodeled his home. Tim was well traveled, traveling all over Europe, Asia, Canada, Bermuda, the Caribbean, Mexico and all 50 United States. He was a volunteer at PBS and an active member of the San Antonio Museum of Art and the San Antonio Botanical Gardens, He loved all outdoor activities and was restoring a 1923 Model T.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John W. Turner. He is survived by his wife of 29 years. Judy Carol Turner; parents, Karl Kurt and Dorothy Weber; mother-in-law, Alma F. Turner of Rover, Tennessee.

Elmer Herman Jr., age 57, of Murfreesboro died Friday, January 13, 2006, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Herman was born in Cannon County. He lived all his life in Rutherford County. He retired from International Paper Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Maggie Herman; a sister, Virginia Herman; a grandson, William McElroy. He is survived by his wife, Mary Darnelle Pendergrast Herman of Murfreesboro; daughters Monica McElroy and Beth Boyles, both of Murfreesboro; brother Buford Herman of Christiana; sister Dean Mathis of Rockvale; two grandchildren, Matthew and K.W. Voyles.

Paul Mason King, age 66, of Murfreesboro died Friday, January 13, 2006, at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, he was owner and publisher of Tennessee Outdoor News Magazine. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Bryan and Velma Lee King, and a brother, Ed Berry. He is survived by sons Richard King of Greenville, SC, Paul King Jr. of Atlanta, John King of Los Angeles and Steve King of Elberton, Georgia; daughter Shelley King Ingram of Bishop, Georgia; brothers Joe King and Charlie King, both of Eagleville, Richard King of Almaville, Bob King of Unionville, David King of Niota, TN, and Phillip King of Temple Terrace, Florida; sister Charlotte King Ralston of Eagleville; eleven grandchildren.
Jennings and Ayers Chapel, Murfreesboro

Elizabeth McDaniel Dyer, age 89, of DeLand, Florida, died Thursday, January 12, 2006, at Ridgecrest Nursing and Rehab Center. Ms. Dyer lived in Eagleville before moving to DeLand in 2000. She retired as a bookkeeper for Horton Utilities in Chapel Hill and was a longtime member of the Eagleville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughter Betty Ettinger of Maitland, Florida; stepson W.H. Dyer Jr. of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Patricia Jane Ward, age 64, of Murfreesboro died Thursday, January 5, 2006. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Betty Kerkow Dykes. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber Cochran. Mrs. Ward was a customer-service representative with Paulo Products. She is survived by a daughter Andrea (Mike) Edwards of Rockvale; grandchildren Ashley Cochran of Woodbury, Amy Cochran and Josh Edwards, both of Rockvale, and Melissa Edwards of Murfreesboro.

Laura Bell Reburn, age 91, died Sunday, January 1, 2006, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. A native of Morganfield, Kentucky, she was a homemaker, a member or the Eastern Star and a member of Grace Fellowship Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Hiram and Mary Sue Nelson Miller, her husband William Bruce Reburn and a son William Chester Reburn. She is survived by sons, Wayne Reburn of Murfreesboro, Charles Reburn of Sturges, Kentucky, and Willis Reburn of Morganfield; daughter, Ann Reburn Brown of Eagleville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jerry Wayne Baxter, age 58, of Murfreesboro died Friday, December 30, 2005 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. A native of Rutherford County, he was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church and a graduate of Rockvale High School. He retired in 2000 from the Murfreesboro Fire Department as a driver. He was a county commissioner of Rutherford County and a member of the Rutherford County Road Commission. He had served on the Advisory Board of Bank of Murfreesboro. He was preceded in death by his father, Aubrey A. Baxter, and brothers Charles Ray and Horace Baxter.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Marilyn Mott Baxter; sons Troy Baxter and Tyler Baxter, both of Murfreesboro; daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Ryan Brewer of Lascassas; his mother, Rachel Victory Baxter of Murfreesboro; brothers Eddie, Dorris and John Baxter, all of Murfreesboro; sisters Connie Reed of Murfreesboro and Rhonda Harris of Shelbyville; and grandson Brian Williams of Murfreesboro.

Eva Ford Calfee, age 97, a long time resident of Colonial Colony South, Daytona Beach, Florida, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 in Florida. Mrs. Calfee was born in Eagleville and moved to Daytona Beach in 1951 from Nashville. She retired in 1976 after 19 years as a secretary in the Registrar's office at Mary Karl Vocational School which became Daytona Beach Community College. She cherished her family most of all and enjoyed basketball, gardening and giving and receiving "Granny Hugs" from her grandchildren. Mrs. Calfee was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church and a wonderful witness to many of her Christian faith.
Survivors are her son, Larry Ford of Daytona Beach, Florida; sister Mrs. Sue Johnson of Nashville; two granddaughters; and five great grandchildren..

Roscoe "Whack" Perrell Jr., age 78, of Unionville, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at his home. Mr. Perrell was a native of Rutherford County and was a son of the late Roscoe and Mary Sue Maupin Perrell. He was a member of the Eagleville Baptist Church and was a retired heavy equipment operator and farmer. Mr. Perrell was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Perrell Lester Lorance, and by a brother, George Phillip Perrell.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline White Perrell of Unionville; a daughter, Hazel Teresa Perrell Jenkins of Greenville, Kentucky; sons Roscoe Stephen Perrell of Unionville and Kenneth Edward Perrell of Jackson, Arkansas; sisters Bessie Lee Mosley of Eagleville, Margaret Perrell Ryan of Eagleville, Anita Perrell Hargrove of Eagleville, Jane Perrell Shelton of Eagleville, Shirley Perrell Crick of Eagleville and Polly Perrell Riggan of Lebanon; a brother, John Perrell of Nolensville; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
