Chestena A. Bolton Rodgers, 74, of Memphis, retired from the University of Memphis, died Saturday at Methodist University Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Bethel Temple Church of God in Christ with burial in Galilee Memorial Gardens. N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home has charge. She was a deaconess and member of the mother's board Lambert Church of God in Christ. Mrs. Rodgers, the widow of Clifton Rodgers, leaves three daughters, Shelia Rodgers Campbell, Mona Rodgers Ford and Queen Esther Rodgers, all of Memphis; two sons, Dr. Clifton Rodgers of Collierville and Joseph Fitzgerald Rodgers of Memphis; four sisters, Carol Bolton Stephens of Memphis, Gracie Ivy of Muncie, Ind., and Doreatha Mosley and Maxine Tabb, both of Chicago; four brothers, Hannibal Bolton of Sterling, Va., and Fred E. Bolton, Harrison Bolton and Clarence Bolton, all of Chicago, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ruthie B. Smith, 65, of Memphis, custodian for Bellevue Baptist Church, died Wednesday at Graceland Nursing Center. Services will be at noon Wednesday at Union Hill Baptist Church in Eudora, Miss., with burial in the church cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home in Tunica, Miss., has charge. She leaves two sons, Andrew Rattliff and Jerome Rattliff, both of Memphis; a sister, Callie Sanders of Hernando, and two brothers, Lee H. Smith of Hernando and John E. Smith of Detroit.

Philip H. Tuseth, 84, of Cordova, retired Air Force intelligence worker, radio announcer and founder/operator of Veterans Cab Co., died Saturday at Memphis Jewish Home. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jonesboro (Ark.) Memorial Park. Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro has charge. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Tuseth, the widower of Ruth Ziegenhorn Tuseth, leaves two daughters, Susie Tuseth of Cordova and Sherry Tuseth-Jackson of Jonesboro; a son, Mike Tuseth of Cordova; a sister, Alice Tuseth of Minneapolis; a brother, Robert Tuseth of Crookton, Minn., and four grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to NEA Humane Society in Jonesboro, Alzheimer's Association or UNICEF.

Bennie Frank Walls, 53, of Memphis, former employee of American Building Maintenance, died Sunday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home with burial in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. He was a Navy veteran and a Baptist. Mr. Walls, the husband of Georgette Walls, also leaves two daughters, Angela Y. Barnes of Duncanville, Texas, and Tosha Stewart of Memphis; two stepsons, Cedric Flemings and Antonio Flemings, and his father and stepmother, Bennie Frank Walls and Irene Stewart, all of Memphis; his mother, Sendle Taggart of Detroit; five sisters, Jammie Stewart of Memphis, Delores Beasley and Joyce Beasley, both of Detroit, and Gloria Burrell and Sarah Padgett, both of Cincinnati; five brothers, George Stewart Jr., Nathaniel Walls, Melvin Beasley, Calvin Beasley and Raymond Beasley, all of Memphis, and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Wolf, the wife of Harold Wolf for 56 years, also leaves a daughter, Denise Wolf of Memphis; a son, Dennis Wolf of Cordova; a brother, Frederick Dennis Ries of Paducah, Ky., and two grandchildren. Hays, leaves two daughters, Felecia Crutchfield of Harrison and Dawn Hays West of Millington; a son, Morgan Lee Hays of Atoka; a sister, Mary Walker, and two brothers, O.L.
