Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel with burial in Memory Hill Gardens. He was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church. He leaves a son, Kyle Jason Taylor, and his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth Diane and George Welch, all of Memphis; his father and stepmother, Michael Gean and Casey Taylor, and a sister, Abigail Taylor, all of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Michael Gean Taylor Jr. of Bartlett, and his grandparents, Robbie Sue Johnson and Louise Taylor, both of Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Bank of America Kyle Jason Taylor Trust Fund.

Duane R. Thompson, 58, of Memphis, retired audiologist and master gardener, died Monday at his home. Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills, Iowa, has charge. Mr. Thompson, the husband of Ann Thompson, also leaves his mother, Mildred Thompson of Forest City, Iowa; a sister, Jean Peterson of Leland, Iowa, and a brother, Jerry Thompson of Springfield, Mo.

Hazel Thompson, 67, of Memphis, retired collection supervisor for First Tennessee Bank, died Sunday at Methodist University Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. James AME Church, where she was a member of the Trustee Board, Usher Board Two, Auxiliary Five, KDR Club and president of Undershepard Club, with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens. Family Mortuary has charge. Mrs. Thompson, the widow of Matthew Thompson, leaves a daughter, Joy P. Williams; a son, Maverick Gibbs; two foster daughters, Latisha Hampton and Constance Kelly; a foster son, Infoneo Kelly, and a sister, Nellie Casey, all of Memphis, and six grandchildren.

Robert West, 47, of Memphis, maintenance worker for Kimco Corp., died Thursday at Atrium of Memphis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Kermit L. Wyatt, 66, formerly of Bells, Tenn., employee of the Postal Service, died Thursday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Services will be at noon today at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Alamo, Tenn., with burial in Oakview Memorial Gardens there. Currie's Funeral Home in Henning, Tenn., has charge. He leaves two sons, Kermit L. Wyatt Jr. of Bolivar, Tenn., and DeKovan Wright of Louin, Miss.; seven sisters, Gladys Yancy of St. Louis, Freddie Brooks of Millington, Annie M. Cole, Faye Eubanks and Shirley Cole, all of Milwaukee, and Bettye Harris and Mary Wyatt, both of Bells; three brothers, Lawrence Wyatt, Lonzie Wyatt and Alvin Wyatt, all of Bells, and four grandchildren.

Rev. Ardis Yancey, 83, of Memphis, former pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Brighton and retired from the old Defense Depot, died Friday at Methodist University Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Castalia Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home has charge. Rev. Yancey, the husband of Modesta Yancey, also leaves a daughter, Sharon Rudley of Memphis, and three grandchildren.

Bethel Springs -- Elvie Evelyn Porter Smith, 77, retired factory worker, died Monday at her home. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Shackelford Funeral Home in Selmer with burial in Lake Hill Memorial Gardens. She was a member of Bethel Springs First Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith, the wife of Manuel Smith, also leaves a daughter, Shelia Cagle of Bethel Springs; two sons, Don Smith of Bethel Springs and Ricky Smith of Anderson, S.C.; four sisters, Ann Bennett and Betty Weaver, both of Finger, Lurene Faulkner of Chewalla and Wana Mae Redmon of Bethel Springs; a brother, Arlin Porter of Henderson, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
