Tommy J. Gray, 86, of Memphis, retired from Profex Manufacturing, died Thursday at Methodist University Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial at 9 a.m. Monday at West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. M.J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Gray, the husband of Levania Gray, also leaves a son, Levanuel Gray, and a sister, Ruth Farmer, both of Memphis, and two grandchildren.

Virgie D. Hopper Hall, 90, of Bartlett, retired grocer for Downing Grocery, died Monday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in Forest Hill cemetery Midtown. She was a 43-year member of First Assembly of God. Mrs. Hall, the widow of W. Raymond Hopper and Estes Hall, leaves two daughters, Jean Miller of Delray Beach, Fla., and Gwen Hopper Lee of Germantown; two sons, Raymond Hopper of Brandon, Miss., and Mark Hopper of Bartlett; a sister, Leola Stroupe of Viola, Ark.; a half-brother, Ernie Downing of Hornbeak, Tenn., 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Springfield (Mo.) Assembly of God Foreign Missions Department.

Agnes Marie Coughlin Harris, 96, of Memphis, retired computer operator for Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington, died Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Graveside services will be at noon today at Memorial Park. Christian Funeral Directors has charge. She was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church. She leaves a son, Charles Harris of Pensacola, Fla., a grandchild and a great-grandchild.

Cecil C. Hatley, 90, of Memphis, retired from Defense Logistics after 27 years, died Tuesday at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Home in Tiptonville. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Northridge Woodhaven cemetery in Millington. Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home has charge. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Frayser Baptist Church. Mr. Hatley, the widower of Virginia Coon Hatley, leaves a caregiver, Wayne Hatley of Tiptonville.

Nolen Leroy Herron, 41, of Memphis, truck driver for Overnite Transportation, died Saturday at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. Services will be at noon Friday at St. Andrew AME Church, where he was a member, with burial in Memorial Park. R.S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home has charge. He was a member of Teamsters Union 667. Mr. Herron, the husband of Valerie Denise Herron, also leaves two daughters, Lauren Alexandria Herron and Lynsey Blake Herron; his father, Leroy Vincent Herron, and a sister, Tiffany R. Walls, all of Memphis.

John Robert Hester, 70, of Spalding, England, formerly of Memphis, retired teacher for Frayser and Craigmont high schools after 39 years, died March 2 in Spalding. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest cemetery in Fulton, Miss. He was a member and organist of Frayser Baptist Church and former organist for Independent Presbyterian and Farmington Presbyterian churches. He leaves a brother, William Kenneth Hester of Germantown. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Southwoods Baptist Missionary Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.

John Richard 'Junior' Hood, 69, of Arlington, service director for Chevy and Buick, died Monday at his home. Forest Hill Funeral Home East has charge. He was a Marine Corps veteran and a member of Central Baptist Church in North Carolina. Mr. Hood, the husband of Sandy Hood for 38 years, also leaves three daughters, Kimberly Perry of Arlington, Robin Lynn Hood of Cary, N.C., and Teresa Baldwin of Richmond, Va.; a son, John Richard Hood Jr. of Petersburg, Va.; a brother, Charles Hood of Valdosta, Ga., five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
